What a place!!! This was my second visit for food and I'll definitely be back! Took the train from Rannoch with a friend and popped in for some breakfast before walking back to Rannoch on the Road to the Isles. I opted for a link sausage bap and latte while my friend had a lorne sausage and bacon bap and a pint. The baps were proper soft, floury rolls (not sweet brioche buns as so many places do now) and the contents of both were piping hot and very, very tasty! My latte was lovely and the pint went down well! There was a selection of tasty looking bakes that I'll need to go back and try and other things on the breakfast and main menus I would like to have too. Booking for dinner is recommended as it's a very popular place.

Had 2 nights B&B in the Signal Box, the original building renovated with a 360 degree lounge at the top with cracking views . This place is just amazing. Beautiful scenery, peace and quiet. Accessible only by train or walking in. In Room 3 with double en suite. Great comfortable bed, tea making with a huge choice of teas and hot chocolate. Across the rail track is the Station House restaurant (dog friendly). Breakfast choice is good and the a la carte menu offers a great choice for lunch or dinner. Recommend the venison stew and sticky toffee pudding. The staff are cheery and very friendly. Shout out to Shona, Holly Harry and the team who made the experience all the better. 5* all round.

We went here on a recommend, we were not disappointed. The place is remote, on the West Coast Railway line. The restaurant is simple in decor and design. The staff are delightful, the menu limited but the choices are excellent, the food was first class, prices reasonable. Strongly recommend a visit. The journey there is beautiful as an extra treat, although our journey home was in the dark!

We decided to visit Corrour for a family day trip after. About 30 second walk from the platform is the Station House which is really well looked after, inside and out. The staff are friendly and helpful making the visit really enjoyable. Whether you are just there for a quick bite and a walk to Loch Ossian or you have a larger hike planned and need something more substantial, I can thoroughly recommend Carrour Station House as the start or end to your journey.

Fantastic food after a very long arduous walk from Rannoch station (detoured by an extra 2 hours as we got lost!) We shared the Salmon platter to start with and it was lovely. Fish and chips was tasty and my partner had the Venison casserole with chunks of venison unlike any you will find in a supermarket probably sourced from their estate. Just delicious. We also had breakfast there in the morning after staying at the hostel overnight and again a huge chunk of venison sausage lorne made the breakfast extra tasty - if I’m being fussy only thing missing was a bit of tomato or some mushrooms but a very hearty breakfast. Lovely coffee and cakes as well. Yes it’s pricier than a city restaurant or cafe but it’s the middle of nowhere and an extremely high level of quality food. Staff (and their dogs) are friendly and super helpful and there are some nice bits and bobs to buy in a small corner of the cafe. A real relaxing homely place, with books and games and a guitar if you want to play while you are waiting on food. We had our dogs with us and honestly it was just a lovely end to a bit of a nightmare walking day for us! I’d advise booking as it gets busy with walkers and campers at dinner time- we were 2 hours late for our booking but they accommodated us no bother. We will be back with our extended family next time!

We stayed at Corrour Signal box for 2 nights on a b&b basis and had our food in the Station House. The en-suite rooms are cosy and clean and are right next to the tracks. The upstairs of the signal box is a comfy guest lounge with superb views 360 degrees. The Scottish breakfasts are superb and evening meals were nice albeit choice was limited to venison stew, venison burger and fish and chips. A greater number of dishes would have worked better and was a comment from several people. A must for staying somewhere quirky or if you want to escape from life. Only accessible by train however!

What a superb place - in a fantastic location (provided you, like us, enjoy being in the middle of nowhere!). The only way to get here is by train, walking or cycling. We walked the 11 miles across the moor from Rannoch Station to get here and spent a night and a full day here before getting the evening train back to Glasgow. We were given a good welcome and looked after by the team working in The Station House. Our room (The Great Marquess) in the old signal box was clean and very comfortable, right next to the railway line (there are few trains to disturb you), with a guest lounge in the old lookout with superb views in all directions. The ensuite bathroom is small but has everything you need. The restaurant in the Old Station House has a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious (both dinner and breakfast) and, although we didn’t sample any, there was a good supply of very inviting homemade cakes on the bar. This is a really special place:

Wow. What a gem of a place and a wonderful rest bite during our hiking holiday. Our meal was delicious (the venison steak sandwich was a revelation). The staff truly went above and beyond. We also got a free (unusually shaped) slice of cake to celebrate with them - the best of luck to them. We stayed at the B&B along with 2 friends over Easter and can only say it’s a MUST if you want to experience a quiet, unique part of Scotland. We arrived on the sleeper , to find the weather amazing. Dry, sunny, clear and the views from one of the close Munro ‘s - words fail me. The staff at the station house are such a quality team. The food is all prepared on site and again just great quality. On our 2nd day we borrowed one of the dogs and took it on the train to Rannoch and walked the 11 miles back through such quiet and beautiful countryside. Leaving to go home was a very sad moment - 3 days of experiences that will never leave me. Thanks Shona and your team

The Chef was first class and used local produce and everthing was made from scratch. Could not fault this friendly establishment. You wondered where people came from as it is really remote and only a few trains stop per day. Walkers, cyclists, day trippers it is definitely worth a visit. Very quaint and had plenty of character. A lot of foreign visitors came for the sheer beauty of the surrounds. Cannot recommended highly enough.

Well, what a transformation! Been back to the Station and it was like a different place. A wonderful experience with friendly and attentive staff. There was mostly different team on, and even the one that was there the last time was much more relaxed and friendly. I wonder what made the difference? The whole vibe had changed. As before, the food was amazing and expensive, but at least we had time to enjoy it. The kitchen staff were a bit more relaxed about the closure for staff lunch, but it made a big difference that people seemed to be getting food service right through and there was no big rush at 5pm, and hoping you got your meal before the train arrives! I do hope that the staff managed to get their breaks, if there's enough people and they are organised this is totally possible. I have to say it made our experience so much more enjoyable. It was actually busier this time than when we last visited, and our service was quicker, friendlier and more professional. Lots of happy hillwalkers and day trippers enjoying this wonderful facility. More of this please and no more stoney faces and staff walking around looking at the floor trying to avoid eye contact like our last visit here. Glad we came back. Staff tipped appropriately ❤️

Coming up on the train I wasn’t that impressed with the food, so I wanted to get a good meal _before_ I got on the train back home. This place does not disappoint. The beers on tap are from local Highland brewer Glen Speane brewing. The venison served is no doubt local to the Corrour estate too. If you fancy it there’s also Corrour whisky too! I had the venison burger, with a side of onion rings, and I tried a few pints of various different Glen Speane brews including the ‘snowgoose’ and the ‘pale blonde’. Top quality food and drink, super friendly and helpful service. What more could you want?

Long story short, eight hillwalking friends, among 30 or so other outdoor lovers, enjoyed a day on the hill, followed by a magnificent meal at Corrour Station House. Then came word that the 18.30 Saturday train out had been summarily cancelled - next train Monday! Eventually, ScotRail managed to send taxis - at midnight! Yet what could have been a long, dull six-hour wait was made fun by the peerless hospitality, good food, camaraderie and quiz-improvisation of our pub restaurant hosts. I've visited Corrour Station House twice this year, once in May and again August. The food is good with large portions... just what you want after a long walk and the staff are welcoming and friendly. This last time I was there the Sleeper train was late and no info was displayed. The staff were meant to be closing for the night but instead called the train company, the previous station and did all they could to find out what had happened. They also re-opened the bar and offered drinks to the strained customers until the train finally showed up. If it wasn't approx 660km away and in the middle of nowhere, I'd definitely make it my local!

I can only describe this place as magical. My partner and I were on a bikepacking trip from Inverness to Glasgow when we stumbled across the Station House. We’d heard about it from other cyclists but had no idea what to expect, we were just hoping for a can of coke and some calorific snacks to keep us going until our next stop. What we were greeted with exceeded all expectations and dictated where we pitched our tents for the night. The staff were so lovely and accommodating and treated us like any other restaurant goer, this doesn’t happen very often when you rock up in lycra shorts! I’m reluctant to write the customer service was excellent as it didn’t feel like we were treated as customers. It felt more like we’d been welcomed into a family home. Our “snacks” soon escalated into homemade sweet potato, spinach and chickpea curry, sticky toffee pudding and a glass of red. The food was delightful. The staff allowed us to camp nearby and let us use their toilet facilities, another very kind and unexpected gesture, one which was too good to turn down. In the morning we had flat whites (proper flat whites) and sausage cobs. The food still just as tasty. They even made us a pack-up so we had cakes and sandwiches to look forward to on day 3 of our tour. To top it off, they gave me a packet of antihistamines to take away after I received some pretty nasty insect bites! All in all, faultless. If it wasn't in the middle of nowhere I'm sure we'd become regulars. Thank you :)

Booked a table in advance as advised, we went in to order a drink and said we would have that outside and come in for our meal inside shortly, which we did, the kitchen was still closed as they are on a break from 3pm to 5pm. There was no welcome on arrival, sat for 10 mins and had to go up to place our food order. 40 min wait for our food (which arrived before cutlery - grrr). Table next to us was attended to several times while we were ignored. Approached the kitchen service area a few times as I was concerned we wouldn't have time to eat before our train arrived and nobody came forward. No update on our order or any apologies for the delay. Inside there were only two tables dining and both already had their food when we arrived, and two couples outside so it wasn't overly busy. We got our food ten minutes before we had to make our way to the platform. A very rushed experience and no interaction from the staff while we were waiting for our meal. Interesting that another reply to a complaint of poor service seem to be "this is the only place around" - not a good reason to offer poor customer service just because you have a captive audience. We'd had a fantastic day walking, met lots of people and chatted along the way and outside the station house. The atmosphere inside the station house was in stark contrast to the rest of the day and really did leave a bad impression, and while it didn't ruin our day it certainly left a bad taste in the mouth. The food was excellent but we couldn't really enjoy it as our train was on it's way! Everyone else was making their way to the platform when our meal sans cutlery was unceremoniously dumped in front of us. We'd already asked to pay in advance as we were aware the clock was ticking, and staff seemed thin on the ground or desperate not to make eye contact. Such a shame that you feel that as you are the only restaurant in the area that you can get away with that. And unlike the other table we weren't approached at all to check if everything was alright or if we would like some water/condiments. It's a stunning location, but I feel that the customers were a bit of an inconvenience. We have plans to do lots of walks in the area, and will probably be back, but I expect better. Good customer service costs you nothing.

Visited here on a Monday lunchtime in July. Jumped on a train from Spean Bridge and stayed for 3 hours before returning on the train. I'll be honest it was my boyfriend's idea to get the train to a remote old station and hang about for a few hours before getting the train back, and I wasn't expecting much. However I am happy to say I really was pleasantly surprised and had a really nice day at Corrour.Good menu, we had toasties and shared a (huge) bowl of chips with a beer and cider while sitting outside admiring the view. Wandered around outside for a bit, taking some pics and exploring the station before going indoors to shield from the rain and have a round of Scrabble before catching the train back. The lady inside was really friendly and welcoming. There's a little souvenir section opposite the bar where you can buy gifts. The station house itself is decorated beautifully and felt lovely and cosy. I've been hear a few times. It gets better every time - the welcome and the food. Even outside Covid you have to book to eat. It's well worth it. We had the slow cooked estate venison stew. It's hands down the best I've had. The walking is dramatic, ranging from a gentle 5 hour circumnavigation of Loch Ossian, a 3 hour up and down the easiest Munro, or break out beyond the Lodge to the most remote hills in Scotland. What better way to end a day (either at lunch or dinner) than the broad range of local beers and whiskies and delicious home made food - all served with kindness for those with weary feet. We spent the hour between coming off the hill, eating dinner and the last train at 9.20pm browsing their book shelves. If I were to be super-critical, I'd say a hot tub would finish the experience to "Beyond Perfection" :)

Have been coming to Corrour for many years, to stay on the estate and walk, and is always a treat when the Station House restaurant is open. Difficult this year with covid restrictions, but made it up end of August and early September, in time for a couple of group meals there before the latest tightening of covid socialising regs. Food excellent, portions generous, and between us think we tried everything on the menu. Also good beer, bottles and usually draft, and decent wines. All at a very reasonable price, especially considering the location. In a normal year, cold beers and some snacks outside on coming down from the local hills is a very nice way to finish the day. The place has a small shop with some nice books, estate t shirts, maps etc.

Beautiful building in the middle of nowhere, but a very lovely nowhere.I fell in love with Corrour the minute I got off the train. The journey in itself was stunning too, wow in fact.I hate not giving this place 5 stars overall , so remote, nice staff , great ambience inside, unbeatable location, books to browse, nice soap stuff in the toilets, but food was mixed. We'd come down off a hill so I was ready for a cake or two.Almond and Raspberry cake was not good - tasted mostly of vanilla flavouring which tends to dominate commercially made cakes.I make this cake at home and it should be very moist and with lovely soft cooked raspberries through the rich, ground almond -based sponge.Nick Nairn and Joanne Wheatley (Bake Off winner 2011) both have really good recipes for this. It's not a cheap cake to make though! This version seemed to used solid almond nuts, of which I found two small slivers and about 3 tiny bits of raspberry.Tried the Tiffin which I also make at home - big portion, very sweet but seemed like cooking chocolate used rather than good quality chocolate. Honestly, I'd rather pay more for top notch ingredients than produce where corners have been cut.I wasn't charged for the cake (I didn't ask for this at all, saw it as just my bad choice)which was very nice of the chap serving.Venison stew however was a major success -really excellent, meat falling off the fork, not too gamey - big portion.Unfortunately, we were served the last of a batch of chips as there were so many tiny, thin little pieces.Should have stuck with the mash.Annoying when plates for other customers passed us shortly afterwards with chunky, fresh looking well coloured chips. If I was a chef I'd think - would I serve this to people coming for dinner at home? If the answer is no, it shouldn't be served to paying customers.Food isn't wildly pricey but it's still £16 for that main course.

I visited Corrour 2/3 September, and on 3 Sept I had both lunch and dinner there whilst waiting for the sleeper train home. The service and food were of the highest order. Wonderful soup with very tasty special bread followed by a trio of smoked salmon - delicious and beautifully served. Staff were very helpful and friendly throughout. For dinner, more soup followed by very tasty fish with a generous portion of chips, peas etc. Amazing to find such an upmarket establishment at this remote location. Very reasonable prices, to boot.

Had a fantastic time in Corrour. This was the first time that we stayed the night in the Signal Box. The staff were outstanding and the food was absolutely delicious! (You don’t leave here hungry...!) and the accommodation in the signal box is really lovely. The staff will go above and beyond to make your experience great. My drone had a fault which meant it dropped to the ground in a hard to reach location, but the lovely team were happy to help and came to retrieve it for me.Will definitely be staying again thank you all!

We were staying on the Corrour Estate, which is a remote place to be for 7 days, but the Station House was a welcome oasis. The staff were utterly wonderful - friendly, attentive, and helpful with local tips - and the food and coffee were always of a high standard. We ate here 3 times, and all the items we tried on the menu were delicious and well made. We can't recommend it enough if you're in the area! Especially if it's raining and you can sit by the fire with a hot drink.

Arrived here to pick up the train with 2hrs to burn. Wow! Great venison burger and all the bits .. Venison not really my thing but these guys did something wonderful and I’d def have that again. Oh yes! And and....after a 14mile hike in 36deg heat ( I kid you not ) the local beer went down well... again and again and again and again. Funny I cant remember much of the train ride home but I can remember that food was off the charts and those guys deserve your custom. Do it. . ✌

Just recently stayed here for 2 nights. First point to make given the climate were currently living in is that all government Covid guidelines have been implemented very well and the cleanliness of the whole place is top notch. The place is tranquil, unique, comfortable, delicious local food and a well stocked bar. Lovely friendly staff who looked after us very well. If you don’t want to be completely cut off there is WiFi.Highly recommend going here and hope to return myself.

This cafe/restaurant is in a wonderful location, right on the most remote railway station in the UK. Log firs, good food, good beer and such friendly service from the bunch of girls who were staffing it when I ate there several times on a recent week long visit to the area. A breakfast roll was so welcome after several days eating dehydrated food, the venison stew is legendary and the fish and chips was very good. The sticky toffee pudding was drowing in a sea of toffee sauce, so good! I just wish the place was open all year round, it isn't, so check before you go. Dinner reservations are a good idea (via email) as the restaurant gets busy in the evenings and there is no-where else within TEN MILES so do make a booking.

The food is delicious, the venison stew was so tasty, and the fishcakes were the best we'd ever had. Great menu choices to suit all tastes, beautiful cakes and scones too. We pre-ordered rolls to collect when we arrived before hiking up some very spectacular munroes, these were delicious. Would love to go back all the time if it wasn't so remote! And I didn't live at the other end of the country!!

We ate here on a cold wet rain swept night (yes August in Scotland) and how pleased we did. You cant get here by road so you have to take a train but its well worth the trip. The staff are very friendly and the venison casserole I had was very tasty. Prices are very reasonable given its so isolated. Go for the view, eat and meal and you'll be very pleased you did.

This is an oasis in a food and drink desert. Three old blokes rock up on mountain bikes after slogging our way over from Tulloch via "the sheep track". Knackered and looking for a good diversion before setting up the bivvy, we ventured inside expecting cream teas and a +30 minute departure. Last to leave at chucking out time, how wrong we were. Lovely, lovely interior, plenty of places to sit including soft chairs by the fire (which would have been lit if only we'd had the confidence to ask ). Amazing hospitality from everyone we spoke to. Great range of beers, great food and great wine. The craic was savage! Thanks to our hosts for a lovely evening, see you next time! PS. Good luck with the novel when you get published

We stayed near here for a few days so we were in quite a few times. The cakes are delicious and the staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The meals are really tasty with a lovely large portion. My only gripe is that the chips aren’t homemade - they seem to be bog standard frozen ones. It would have been a perfect review if those chips had been homemade.

Enjoyed a meal here while we were staying at youth hostel. Delicious food, plenty of it and cooked to order. The dessert was amazing, Sticky Toffee Pudding, only managed 1 between us, as we were full from our mains. And thank goodness we only ordered 1 as it was huge. Fantastic! We went back in before we caught the train out, lovely home baking, my only disappointment was there was no scones. I love a scone. Slightly pricey but you do get plenty of food on the plate.

If I could award six stars then I would! My family also stayed in the rooms in the Signal Box opposite - again, great welcome, small but beautifully situated rooms. Staying in Loch Ossian hostel, Corrour station house was the only place to have food around the area. However, we didn't go there out of desperation, we did so because it offered the most deliciously cooked meals and company we've ever had. We felt at home the moment we stepped foot in the restaurant, that's all thanks to the staff working there (Will, Shona and Allie). Not to mention the cleanliness and homely atmosphere it has to offer. It's truly a gem that ought to be discovered.
