The pub had a seafood Weekend so we went and the food was delicious. We had a sharing platter and a couple of mains each that were very good. The mains were very good but one was quite peppery, and when we asked for it to have some cheese and cream added to perhaps take the edge off, which they did, they then gave us a free dessert of their own volition. They also have some cool retro games and there’s lots of seating and space inside and in the beer garden. The staff are really nice and it seems as though there’s a lively community and schedule of events kept regularly up to date

Friendly staff/ good atmosphere.

Well what can we say, staying over the road at premier inn and never gave this good old fashioned pub a thought. For three days have been walking into Cambridge eating in over crowded and over priced places, yet over the road from where we are staying is this gem of a place. The Sunday roast we had today was far the tastiest we've ever had, like home cooking. The staff were so lovely. Just perfect. Thank you . Sadly going home tomorrow or we'd be visiting again xx

Nice traditional English pub, clean and inviting. Food was well presented and tasty and price in keeping with our pocket also a great selection of drinks. All staff and other clients made us feel very welcome. Will most definitely be visiting on our next trip to Cambridge so convenient to the Travelodge hotel. Well done 'The Corner House.

The place was absolutely buzzing on a Tuesday night which tells it's own story. A great selection of food at reasonable prices and an amazing selection of drinks. Definitely worth a visit.

Came in yesterday after the half marathon. It was really busy and the food took a little longer than usual, but we didn’t mind waiting. The staff were amazing and the food was incredible! The atmosphere was fantastic. Loved it! Will definitely return!

Didn't have food. But the landlady was absolutely lovely. Great quality beer and Great Guinness. Shuffleboard was brilliant too. £5 but we had it all night!

Decent enough pub but don’t ask the staff if they would like a drink as a tip. I bought a bitter and a Guinness. The tip was r expensive than either! Taking the piss!!

Very friendly staff, we've organised a couple of events with them. All very easy and straightforward, food is nice and they provide lots of entertainment like karaoke, definitely be back, thanks!

We went for one of the curry nights. We were overwhelmed by how big the curry menu was. We loved the fact you can choose 3 little bowls of curry as a main, if you can't decide on one. The curries were quite good, but not as good as we were expecting. The spicy naan bread wasn't very tasty, but the poppadoms were the best we've ever had- really fresh and moreish. The curry nights are obviously popular and the restaurant gets really loud, which I'm aware the pub can't do much about. The pudding options were also vast and the ginger pudding was tasty. We would come back again, but maybe not on a curry night. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming.

Went in there over the weekend with my wife for a few drinks. Lovely pub opposite the Premier Inn & Travelodge hotels. Probably served the best pints of moretti that I've ever had 👍👍

Was a very good night, as we book tables just for drinks and some food for our family get together as our daughter was 18 the week before. Good game of shuffle board and later the classic arcade game if pacman.

Nice little pub in Cambridge. Amazing roast dinner on a Sunday too. Was a great atmosphere with the pub games - we spent quite a lot of time playing shuffleboard. There were also a couple of arcade games like space invaders. The bar staff were friendly and it was good value. Highly recommend!

Had a really nice family get together last night my Daughter was also celebrating her 18th we was well looked after was giving a our own area. We paid for the shuffle board for half an hour but jo the manager said its ours all night which was a added bonus will definitely be returning

Had a Christmas lunch there with work colleagues and it was an excellent meal. Service was really friendly and efficient. They had worked out a great system for paying, giving each of us a tab with a number which was excellent and made everything so much easier. The meal was delicious- I had turkey which was perfect, lovely veg and potatoes and yummy yorkshire puddings. Huge pig in blanket and bacon with the sprouts - couldn’t ask for more. Servings were very generous too. Will definitely go back again.

We enjoyed our meal here. Positives were the food was mostly very good, they sold Landlord ale, the free arcade machine which the kids absolutely loved. The only reason they lose a star is because the fish in the fish and chips was full of bones, which for deep fried fish is not something I've seen for many years and wasn't expected.

Had an event at this place and it was awesome. Food was delicious, staff were super friendly and good fun, great atmosphere all around!

It's a nice pub, lovely, clearly popular. But make no mistake, this is not a gastopub. It's serves perfectly edible food, but the premier Inn over the road serves exactly the same quality. It's at that level. I'd happily return for drinks but would go elsewhere for food.

Visited here several times over the last few weeks for food and beer. All I can say is it is a great place with excellent drinks, and the food is amazing. You get good-sized portions and I have never had a meal yet that is short of excellent. The inside looks like it has been renovated recently and has that modern look but retaining a good level of charm. With a great atmosphere, this place is always my first choice when in the area. The staff and management are brilliant as well.

Nice little pub that’s friendly and stylish!!

We trundle past the Corner House on our way into the city. After attending a few excellent special events there (wine tasting, food & drink quiz night) we now make any excuse to stop by the Corner House. We joined them for their Bonfire Night celebrations - delicious food, hot chocolate & rum, mulled wine, marshmallows, sparklers, music, friendly atmosphere around the firepit - what more could you want, we much preferred to stay and miss the firework display - it was a fun and entertaining evening! Tastiest burger I’ve had in years! We highly recommend you visit if you haven’t already.

The best pub in the city with everything you could want. I have been going there for years and it feels like home from home (a feeling shared by my family).

Pub food can be very predictable and is much the same from one place to the next. Not so at The Cornerhouse! It took us a while to find this place. It doesn’t look much from the outside and we had driven past it many times…until it was recommended to us by the staff of another nearby pub. What a pleasant surprise to find a menu that is much more than fish and chips, burgers, Coronation Chicken and curry. We’ve been there a few times now and the menu is extensive and it’s all good. I highly recommend the ribs! Delicious!

Outstanding food and service. Ate here with my wife, I had nachos to start and then a burger, my wife had Greek Lamb chops. Both were delicious. Service was spot on and great value for money

Poor quality food, tough lamb and soggy vegetables. When asked for feedback we did so and were treated with aggression. The suggestion was we were trying it on to try and get a refund. We found this a very odd response, and an entirely inaccurate one. I can see now though that this is a common theme. Best to avoid if you want to be treated with courtesy and respect. The food when we visited was pretty dire

We were sceptical at first because it seemed too good to be true, but it was genuinely absolutely amazing! Everything was labelled perfectly and piping hot. It could not have been better. We had a complicated order too with each person wanting a different meat. It was truly fantastic! We feel so lucky to have such an incredible pub with the most wonderful people and community on our doorstep! Thank you! We will be back again and again. We truly ❤️ The Corner House.

The Corner House pub is absolutely the best!!! Food always Amazing, I usually have their Sunday veggie roast but have had other Amazing meals there several times, highly highly recommend, everything so fresh and delicious 😍 Jo the landlady, Lorna and everyone are so friendly, welcoming and go out of their way to adapt food to what you need and would like. Straight out of kitchen nightmares I went there with a relatively large group of friends, to have a drink and some food - but rude staff and hideous food, both to the eye and the tongue ruined it. Started alright, we ordered our food and drinks - possibly the only thing done right by the staff in both the kitchen and bar. I don't even really know where to start. The burgers were almost unediable the beef had been almost half for the chef to see when it was ready. The nachos had been microwaved, all of the nachos were basically soft and the cheese had not melted. Pizza took an hour to get served for it not to be cooked, with raw dough in the middle. One of my friends orders a steak, he gets his food then he comes back 30 sec later, takes it away, and brings it to the table next to us - disgusting. About 20 minutes into our visit cats start circling our table - disgusting. The vast majority didn't even touch the food beyond the first bite. As almost none of us thought I was acceptable food we went to complain and this is when the rudeness from the staff started. I go the the bar to present my case, but when I've said the first two words I immediately get interrupted by the answer "No no no no there is nothing wrong with our food" He refuses to talk to me and instead, a lady from the kitchen shows up to the show. I try to explain that my nachos were simply not alright when i quickly get interrupted with" We´ve never had any complaints about our nachos in the 40 years of running the place, we serve the best nachos in the world" That statement can only be true if: 1) they've never had any customers 2) none of their customers have ever ordered nachos I try in a very calm manner to explain my case further to which she tries to undermine my credibility and knowledge about food and all. to her surprise, I also work in hospitality. After 5-10 minutes of conversation and picks up that I speak with a bit of an accent and asks where I am from. the answer to that is Denmark where she follows up with "The only great thing to ever come out of Denmark is bacon". Bacon is lovely, but it goes to show the level of incompetence at the place. I will give them, the place is great i you ever want to record or experience what kitchen nightmares are really about. it's great if you enjoy self-torture and wanna experience what food they serve in the purgatory

From Jo, the landlords first message we knew we would be welcome. Anyone staying in either the Premier Inn or the Travel lodge on the Newmarket Road should walk across the road and visit. Great food, huge portions and very teenager and child friendly. We went at least 2 nights while staying at the Premier Inn opposite.

I think it's very difficult to find this awesome level of food in pubs, along with a great friendly service. In addition it's not expensive!

Great eighties music. Had two lovely pints. The garlic mushrooms and pie and chips were incredible. One of the best meals I've had in Cambridge whilst working here for the last two months. It looks like your average boozer from the outside, though it is smart. Inside, though, it has been renovated well and has a quirky feel. Great menu. Great pub ! Good food, menu has a great variety include vegan and gluten free. Had one of the pizzas, which was lovely. Nice selection of beers. Everything was reasonably priced. Warm welcome from the staff. Definitely recommend and would come back here.

Our 1st visit was for their Sunday roast dinner. It was delicious! We met the in-charge-of-the-house cat Iris. An infamous pub local. We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back for dinner on Monday. We both had their pasta dishes. Again delicious! This time we sat next to some regular locals who we shared stories with. Such a friendly & welcoming group of people. The pub is actually on the corner across from 2 known hotels. The pub is quite large with different dining areas. There is a huge back patio where they hold several events. If you are any where near Newmarket Rd. give this establishment a try.

Staff absolutely great cant fault the staff orderd a kids burger with chips onion rings and garlic mushrooms all deep fried and all over cooked 15 pound had one mouth full of the burger 2 onion rings and 2 garlic mushrooms won't be going back...

We've passed this pub hundreds of times and by the very average looks from the outside, we have never gone in to try it until it was recommended by someone at another pub. The food selection and quality were excellent and quite different to the usual fish and chips, burger and curry pub fare, and the service was also excellent and very friendly.

Lovely pub. The staff are friendly and inviting. I visited on my own and was instantly welcomed by the staff and locals alike. Went in to watch the football and left having a genuinely fantastic night. One of the best little pubs going. ♡

Stumbled upon this pub last December and visited numerous times over the weekend and again when we came back to Cambridge in June this year. Hard to explain what a fantastic atmosphere this pub has - the staff are all super friendly, enjoy a laugh and Jo (landlady) is a star! The pub is like a tardis - it’s much bigger than it looks from the outside but is nicely zoned into different areas. The garden is really lovely too. We are headed back to Cambridge for a weekend from 8-10 September and are really hoping that Karaoke will be on either the Friday or Saturday evening? If not, bingo? We can’t wait to come back and are bringing 3 more people with us this time. Be prepared! 😂😂

I went to pick up a meat fest pizza, with jalapeños, and chunky chips, which I had already pre placed my order. When I arrive the staff was friendly plus courteous. The pizza was brilliant, and the chips was cooked to perfection.

Visited The Corner House while staying at the Travelodge across the road. The quality of the food really took me by surprise, it was genuinely a really nice meal. They also had a really varied specials menu. On the night we were there it wasn't exactly buzzing but it was cosy and quiet enough to be able to hold a conversation without raising our voices. Would return again if I'm in the area.

Came to Cambridge for a long weekend & luckily for us this gem was across the road! The food, the staff, the pub & most importantly the san miguel (as far as he's concerned) are just superb. If you're lucky enough to be in the area you have to come here.

I’d seen on Tripadvisor that it had great reviews and they were right. They have a good selection of dishes and beers. The beef ragu and pasta was delicious as was the matador burger, that has to be the best most flavoursome burger I’ve eaten...

We havn't been to the Corner House since it was rennovated and it looks all nice, the staff is friendly and helpful and the food has a home made feeling to it and we enjoyed the experience throughout. Good pub and has a very nice beer garden to chill out. Will come back.

Staying at Premier Inn opposite for 4 nights. Ate here for 3 of them and couldn't be happier with the quality and variety of food and friendly service. Highly recommend paying a visit.
