Superb location with never a dull moment looking across the River Dee at the Llangollen Heritage Railway. Excellent, prompt service of the food from this Brunning & Price menu. Prior booking recommended at peak times as this multi levelled pub fills up so quickly. Great choice of cask ales on sale with the downstairs beers replicated upstairs for the dining areas.

Original corn water mill on the banks of the Dee with fine views and a terrace. The mill wheel is still in place and can be viewed through a glass floor. Food is very good with generous portions. Staff are all young but you cannot fault them. Great beer and wine selection. The building has been sympathetically restored with the original features still in place.

Easy booking online. (They request that people bringing a dog let them know, so they can seat them in a dog-friendly area.) I was given a nice table on the upper floor, with a view through to the river. Some of the chairs are beautifully carved. Cheery daffodils were on the table. The Sunday nut roast meal was very good, with lots of greens and vegetables. There’s a vegan Shiraz wine. Great meal and service.

Nice place that sits on the river dee. Food served here. Two floors that overlooks the river. Usual tap beers but also serves 4 or 5 real ales. Big flag stones and cobble stones for the floor. Real old worldly looking. Staff were friendly and the beer was very nice. Enjoyed my visit.

The place itself in set in a lovely location. Great views of the river and steam railway. The drinks are expensive. £11.50 for a pint of cask ale and two J2O’s. The food is ok but again over priced. Avoid the side orders!!! Was charged £4.95 for a side portion of chips (described as Chunky but were just oven chips). They came in a dish not much larger than a ramekin and there were 14 chips in total for £4.95! 🤣

Uniquely spectacular in a breathtaking location with amazing views through all seasons. The team are always friendly and helpful as well as the food being great. Some really interesting items on the menu that you don't see at too many other B&Ps. Even if you're not in Llangollen it's worth a trip out for a memorable experience. Worth phoning ahead to get a table - (unsurprisingly) would highly recommend!

Visited here back at the beginning of the month. The atmosphere was great and enjoyed the fact the place was dog friendly and the lady was very nice to our dog. The service was great and the food tasted nice, the lamb shank was cooked to perfection however was disappointed as we came early evening and there was practically nothing available on the menu. This was a shame :(

Was absolutely awful… been visiting here for years … I visited with my son last week.. the whole place smelt of dogs .. we bought drinks and found a table down stairs , there was other customers & there was 3 smelly dogs , barking , absolutely disgusting… chose not to order food has the barking & smell of dogs put us both off .. we felt like we were in a dog kennel !!!! is this even allowed under the health and safety ? where food is served ? I really think you need to consider the dog friendly thing !!! … because it’s not hygienic… & should not under any circumstances be allowed… where food is being served … very disappointed !!!!

Lovely place to eat. But locals unfriendly. 5 of us pallative care nurses from liverpool came for a weekend to llangollen. To just chill. We work really hard... When people heard us speak. People Took to speaking in welsh. Well if that's not rude. Don't know what is. Why judge people on language. After all you would of had the best care in there after all if someone took ill suddenly 😔 These people spoilt our experience and so we will not be returning in the future. So sad 😞

Waited almost an hour for one burger and one fish and chips. Watched a table of four seated and served while I was waiting. Another customer even came over to our table as she was leaving to say 'I hope you enjoy it, they kept you waiting long enough!' Of the three staff that saw us, nobody asked if our meal was okay, which was disappointing given they'd acknowledged how long the meal had taken. Burger itself was really mediocre - the chips were great but definitely not enough to save a very regrettable visit to The Corn Mill. I can deal with mediocre food, I can deal with poor service, I can deal with pricy meals - but it's hard to stomach all three. I'm not usually one to leave negative reviews, but this was a really disappointing experience all round, especially given how promising the menu looked.

I like the Cornmill, I have eaten here many times in the past, but tonight they dropped the ball. Pre booked a table for 4. Arrived on time with no available table, and no where to wait. Was forced to stand with my family in the middle of the bar area, whilst the staff argued about where to seat me. Turns out they just dragged 2 more chairs over to what was blatantly a table for two. Ordered and received drinks within half an hour. Ordered food, and were then told 2 out of the 4 meals ordered were unavailable. I explained to the waitress I would be leaving after finishing my drinks, and her pleasant demeanour then noticeably changed to indifference, she then argued that we were at a table for 4, even though my son and myself couldnt get our legs under the table properly. When paying for my drinks another waitress was confused as to what table to bring up the bill for, as the one we were at didn't exist on the floor plan. In the end I paid £16 for 4 soft drinks and went KFC on the way home. Hope this was a one off.

I have been here a few times and have really enjoyed the food, and I've nearly always chosen the shoulder of lamb and it's beem fantastic. I last went there at the end of Novwmber and opted for the Sicilain seafood stew, as I'd had a few meat-heavy days previously. I was seriously disappointed. The broth in the stew left a really bitter aftertaste in my mouth, my wife tasted it and she fully agreed. It was as if the chef had failed to counterbalance the bitterness of the tomatoes in it - and I'm pretty sure it was tinned chopped tomatoes, hence the overpowering bitterness. I basically just fished the seafood and fish pieces out of the broth, wiped the broth off them with a napkin and ate them, leaving the broth untouched. I gave feedback to the waitress and she offered me some bread (that must be the policy in terms of responding to dissatisfaction) and she said that the chef would take the comments on board. Interestingly, she also said that she'd had the same dish a few days before and had a similar experience. I was like, thanks for the pre-warning! Another member of staff gave a minimal discount when we paid (the equivalent of a couple of drinks maybe). In hindsight, I should have rejected the dish on tasting the broth but hindsight is a fine thing. I would advise anyone thinking of eating here to avoid this specific dish and to take the fish and chips instead - it looked great. I should add that my wife had rump steak au poivre and she was delighted with her meal, and I also enjoyed my dessert, having opted for the hot drink and half dessert combo.

Very disappointing !! Firstly 1 meal ( bass)sent back as it was cold . The Sunday roast was “very tired”and it was obvious that it had been a busy day on the roasts as the remnants of the day’s prepared veg and potatoes were dry and cold Perhaps it’s important to mention we ate at 6.30 pm but standards should be kept high until the end of the day’s service Battered fish meal was good Wild Boar pie meal served not as described on menu. Cold tired veg and no buttered mash but cold roast potatoes We have eaten in many Brunning and Price venues and this was the most disappointing experience by far.

Great food. Above your average pub fare and large portions. Back of house obviously good at their jobs. Front of House is unfortunately shambolic. Too busy enjoying themselves having a crack to focus on customers. Had to find someone to take my order, drinks didn't arrive and had to be chased up. Nobody came to clear the table had to go and find someone to pay my bill. Would have easily had more drinks and would have probably had dessert if service had been anywhere near competent. Superb restaurant and bar in a convert Cornhill that has retained many original features. As its located down a small side street right by the river it could be easily missed, but it's well worth finding. Food and setting were excellent. We where lucky enough to have a table right by the window overlooking the river. Really can't compliment the corn mill enough for their food and setting, we are already looking for an excuse to return.
