Copper City in Nottingham

I was thrilled to find a local bar that serves a proper Guinness. It was 95% of the way to the taste of a real Irish pint. The best Guinness I've had in the UK by far. Service was friendly and prompt, with the food reasonable for such a city center location. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Only came for a drink, so I can not comment on the food. But it was a very comfortable place with nice seating and comfortable and clean toilets.

Dreadful service. The blonde waitress soooo unhelpful and a face so sour!!!! Booked upstairs but 3 children screaming and running around making so much noise. Asked blondey to deal with it but was told no. Ended up eating downstairs to then be told there's no pork on the roast menu ( even though we'd booked and said we were booking for roast dinner) and 2 wines off the list!!!! Said it had been a busy weekend. Made our whole dining experience very unpleasant and won't book.again. Poor show Copper...used you many times but this was disgraceful customer service.

the most unreal breakfast everrrrr - and its served late i ordered this at almost 1pm. loved the cute beans pot!! I requested bacon+sausages to be crisp and mmmmm did they deliver. 10/10 i will be back. thankyou so much ♡︎ ♡︎ ♡︎

We hired the private room for a hen do and we were extremely impressed. Lizzie was absolutely fantastic behind the bar. The team were really helpful and attentive. The food they provided was delicious and reasonably priced. They catered for all of our needs - they had a TV that we could connect to as well as a sound sytem. I would 100% recommend. Thank you!

Unfortunately didn’t get service today. I was sat for 20 minutes and nobody came to serve me. I would have gotten up to remind someone I was here but there was a server serving the table right behind me so I just left instead. I wanted to give this feedback because as a long time server myself I totally understand tables can hide and get forgotten about (especially on a busy Saturday) but the other servers walking around seating and serving others could have easily come by or told whoever was supposed to be serving me that I was there. This communication is crucial in a restaurant because this kind of stuff happens. As a person, it doesn’t feel good to be ignored.

I visited Copper City yesterday for a staff / team meeting. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I had the chicken and bacon club sandwich which was delicious and very filling. Would highly recommend and visit again if in the area.

Fantastic service from start to finish. Rebecca was a fabulous host and couldn’t do enough to make us feel comfortable happy with our visit. The new manager Chris also greeted us and was great. We had eggs royal and a veggie breakfast which was delicious.

Visited for Brunch, served by Becki who was really friendly and the food was amazing. defo be back

Best Pancakes and Smashed Avocado on toast in town!! My favourite breakfast place in town, last summer I was there pretty much every weekend!. Great coffee and really tasty food including veggie options.

Cold! It's true it is 5 degrees outside but thought it might be a little warmer inside! Notice on the door, no kitchen today (maybe the chef didn't like the cold) 5 beers had run out , awaiting a delivery....it's wednesday surely they'd restocked since the weekend...... All in all this place had the look, drink availability and warmth of a bar on the verge of closing down....sad if it's true....

Having eaten at Copper several times on previous visits to Nottingham I was really looking forwards to it on my birthday after visiting the Christmas market. What a disappointing visit. My wife’s food was tepid and whilst the rest of the food was nice the service was very poor. No one came to the table to see if our food was ok, to see if we wanted a second drink or to see if we wanted deserts. We did want deserts so we could wish me happy birthday with a sparkler or a candle which my wife had brought. We had to queue at the bar to be able to pay the bill so we could leave. On future trips to Nottingham I will find a new place to eat.

Smart bar and cafe. Food took a little while to arrive but was worth waiting for. They do hot drinks but don't really advertise it.

I don't usually leave bad reviews but it seemed appropriate to do so on this occasion. I was with my mother visiting Nottingham, on Saturday afternoon, when we decided to eat at Copper's. Having been there several times, I wanted my mother to have a good experience too. The manager very nicely, made us sit upstairs where we were welcomed by a blonde waitress who from the moment she laid eyes on us, gave us nothing but a weird hostile. We ordered two sandwiches (they were great by the way) but for my mum the portion was a little too much. I very kindly asked the waitress if we could take away half of the remaining sandwich. When it comes to a take away, we certainly did not expect it to be put in a gift box with a thank you note. But we also did not expect the waitress to place on our table an industrial cling film roll and a bag, so that we could wrap the sandwich ourselves, in front of the other speechless customers. That was an absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I do understand customer service can be challenging and pleasing every single customer is impossible. Having said that, eating out should be the time for a customer to be treated nicely and feeling welcomed. All we felt was that we were intruding and disturbing. I will not visit Copper's again nor recommend it to others. I just hope this waitress will deliver a better service so you don't lose more customers

Best Coffee Service in Nottingham.

We were very cold, we were placed in a lower room near a roof heater which wasn't working & when we asked for some warmth we were told it was dodgy. Our meals were good, delicious chips! The service was prompt. However our visit was spoiled by the cold temperature, we won't come again.

Went for lunch with a friend. The food was good and the service was excellent. Will definitely go back.

Good food at reasonable prices nice sort of gastro pub vibe. Service was a bit slow but the waitress was pleasent enough. If you're going there to catch up with a friend and have a natter the pace might suit you.

Terrrible service. Person late opening up not bothered about customer. Food only just warm. Wouldn't return. Just one lady nice and helpful the one with blonde hair. She seemed to be doing all the work. We dined Sunday 26th November for breakfast.

Ordered a oat coffee as I have dairy intolerance, and the people I was with ordered regular coffees. Our waitress told us the wrong one was oat, and then brought the oat one 5 minutes later. I had to pay extra for my milk substitution. Food was ok, it looked pretty but I felt that it was a bit expensive and was slightly bland. I had the eggs royale which was around £13-14 and I would not get it again. The atmosphere is nice, the bar is nicely decorated and the tables are nice. The toilets smell very fishy and strange. I would go here for coffee again but it would not be my first choice.

Staff are lovely with knowledge of local areas. The food was amazing, and the actual place looks amazing. Chill music (no lift music) made me feel welcome. Would reccomend

Nice place for a pre-dinner drink, service was quick and it wasn't too busy although no tables available on arrival soon found somewhere to sit.

Saturday morning brunch was understaffed. We waited a while for a menu, a while longer to be served. The food came out before our drink and wasn't up to the standard we would expect of Copper. The food was okay and the drinks were poor. It wasn't even busy. Copper you can do better than this.

Very poor service/ understaffed. After waiting half an hour to order we asked the waitress if she could take our drinks order, only for her to take the orders of two groups who came after us first. I imagined it would have been over an hour for us to receive our food so we just left.

I ate an English Breakfast but was very expensive (~12) and small.

Wonderful and friendly staff, warm but bubbly atmosphere and the breakfast was lovely.

Stairs going to a function room is not suitable for people with mobility issues. Also further stairs for the toilets which were not very nice.

Not great I had a scone with jam and cream unfortunately it was like a house brick not a scone. When it arrived I thought that it looked on the over done side and rather brown. And they had warmed it up in the microwave so not very edible at all. At £5.50 for scone and a drink I won't be returning.

Not the usual staff on today 02-05-22,warm beer in wrong glasses,was offered to get served, then was ignored while they attended to something else for at least 4 minutes,dull atmosphere with staff, normally the staff on a Sunday are vibrant, knowledgeable smiling and cheerful .Sort em Out Copper boss 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Went for a pre concert meal and drinks, very reasonable prices, immaculate interior and very professional service. Ambiance of the place was exceptionally fine. I had the juiciest burger and the chips were first class. Hugely impressed and would definitely recommend for a date night/fine dining night out

A friend and i had booked a table and ordered from the pre theatre menu a week ago as we were booked for the 7.40pm film showing at Cineworld opposite.The waitress was very very slow and didn’t listen to what was ordered so some of the meal was incorrect - ordered from the special price 2 course pre theatre menu and asked to swop the sea salt chips for sweet potato fries - still arrived with sea salt chips - the steak was really tough to cut and i asked for a steak knife as it wasn’t served with the meal again after a long wait she turned up with the knife by which time i had picked it up with my fingers - but as my friend and i had ordered the same meal neither of us were happy with the meal or the steak - had to ask 3 times for a jug of water which was also brought to the table after another long wait - As we were sat upstairs no one around for asking for the bill so went down to the bar and couldn’t believe what the bill came to - between the waitress taking our order and what information was given to the kitchen obviously got lost in translation it seemed that our meals hadn’t been put through as the special 2 course price but was individually priced from the ordinary menu and that explained why the meal was slightly different too - by which time we were running late to get to the cinema but there was such a faff between the one who served us and another member of staff inputting on the till - my friend asked for the manager but neither of the 2x female staff made an attempt to fetch / call for a manager plus we needed to get away fast otherwise we would miss the start of the film - totally opposite experience of previous visits and no apology for inconvenience - not impressed at all - also the receipt hasn’t got any of the items we ordered just what each of us agreed to pay not professional or a good way to run a business Have since discovered that the venue has been under new management -

I’ve eaten Sunday dinner at Copper City most weekends for about three years now. Since the new owners have taken over ‘redcatpub company’ the place has gone down hill faster than a fat lad on a tea tray. No mangers on duty, juts ‘young adults’ who’s defence when complaining about the food is ‘well everyone else likes it ‘ think they need to read their recent feedback . The food was poor at best, the roast beef would have made a good pair of shoes , providing you were no bigger than a size 3. I would not call the batter mix on my plate a Yorkshire pudding, more of a pancake. I asked if they had a new chef , they said no but I’ve spoken to the old chef who has left. Most of the beers were ‘off’ so only lager available. The place is normally buzzing and full On a Sunday, it was empty and except for a table of students. The staff need training and leadership and an injection of customer service , which doesn’t mean sitting at the end of the bar playing with their phones. I will await a response from the venue , but for now , I’ll not be returning.

Visited Copper city. The vibe if lovely, very good to get work done. It’s also good for a date and big groups. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. The food is delicious and the drinks are lovely. The staff are so friendly especially James behind the bar. He works so hard and he’s a lovely person making sure customers are always happy. He’s a top man always having a smile on his face. Would definitely recommend all ages to come here. I will be attending here again!

I like the place, I visited often when in Nottingham. I always had a couple of pints and food. The people visiting the place are well presented and and the atmosphere is very chill and fun. If you are looking for a pint and a bit chilling surrounded from good looking people don't miss the place.

Not the greatest visit, staff busy chatting to each other when I was waiting, no Merlot no advice on alternative, no AF Beer pointed me to a fridge full of pop. Ordered my daughter a Cranberry Mojito bar staff made it with out Cranberry! Pointed out the error, got grunted at no apologies, squirted some mixture from a tap in to the glass which turned the drink red. Tasted "funny" Got charged the best part of £20 for 3 drinks one of which was, a soft drink. Don't mind paying for quality but this was poor all around. Some excuse was muttered about change of suppliers. Could do better I won't be back.

Every time i have been to this place , they either required a booking or they don’t serve what i want . Disappointed

Took 20 mins to see a menu and had to ask, then had to ask someone to take our order. Food was mediocre and had to ask for our drinks. Dreadful service, the place wasn't busy and their were staff araound. No organisation whatsoever. We go to Copper on Mapperley Top a lot and my advice for anyone is to go there instead, great service and food.

The atmosphere is fine but the food has a lot of room for improvement. The poached eggs didn't have runny yolks and the quinoa bowl had no more than three tablespoons of quinoa. That's a ridiculously little portion for £7.

I usually love this venue for drinks - it’s in a great location and has a good atmosphere. However, we decided to visit for brunch on Saturday and I was so disappointed. I ordered the chorizo hash which was supposed to have two poached eggs on top, but neither were runny. The meal was dry on top and greesy at the bottom. No one came to ask how our meals were, but when they came to take away my plate (which was over half full), I explained that it was inedible. The staff member did said she’s tell the chef but offered nothing to resolve the situation. They went to get our bill, put it on the table without saying a word and left again. We were left sitting there awkwardly waiting to pay and during this time noticed that the prices on the online menu were less than what we had been charged, in one case £1.50 for more a cold sub (which should have been served warm). The staff member didn't come back to our table so we had to call over someone else to pay our bill.

Drinks decent, service ok. Nicely decorated. Will have to come back for food.

Came here for breakfast, was so nice and a fair price! Had the brunch burger which is in the picture and my sister had the traditional breakfast! Must admit the traditional breakfast looked so good and was a bit jealous. All in all was a great meal and really cool place to be in, will be coming back soon!

Firstly, what a beautiful building, superbly updated with the copper theme.However, the first impression was quickly erased by the very abrupt woman greeting us. Well I say greeting, it was more berating us for having the audacity of being 8 minutes early for our booking!Getting to the table, after having waited for the menus to be delivered, our waiter appeared, didn't get his name but what a star. Just chatty enough, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Sadly he took our order and we didn't see him again all evening as he was replaced by a girl who, although friendly, was clearly new (not that this should count against her - we all start somewhere). When the food came, the starters (scotch egg and calamari) they were incredibly good. The mains then followed and the fish and chips were excellent, however it was clear that the steak had been cooked and then left in the pass for a while as it was not hot. This was apparently a common problem as several people close to us sent meals back for reheating.The mains completed, our waitress collected our plates but didn't offer a sweet, a coffee or our bill and we waited 15 minutes for someone to come back, eventually having to call across the room to get someone to take our money.Overall, the Copper city is beautiful but it seems like their systems need a bit of tweaking. If they did, this would be a great place to go.

A very busy Saturday lunchtime when we arrived with a party of seven … staff made extra effort to accommodate us, flexibility from us to crowd around a table to start with, but the team speedily getting us more chairs and an extra table as soon as they were able. Great food for varied tastes, especially with the all day breakfast / brunch menu available.

We had the veggie Sunday roast here yesterday and it was delicious. Two thick slices of nut roast, really tasty stuffing and good quantities of all the veg. Plus plenty of gravy! Would definitely recommend!

Went here with "the gang" today, wife and kids plus one of my son's mates. First thing I want to say is that the young, largely female, staff were superb. They got our orders just right and were really friendly. The quality of the food, however, depended on what was ordered. Dishes with poached eggs and muffins were delicious. Dishes with omelettes were the opposite (dry, dry). The smoked haddock omelette, a dish rarely found on menus outisde of London that I was particularly looking forward to, was a disaster. Most dishes came with a side of vegetable crisps, which all my guests thought was just weeeeeeird. And the side order of "toast" was more like "barely toasted rubbish quality bread". I do think this place has the potential to make it up to four stars, and I will try it again soon. Anyone who's already given it five stars, however, really does need to get out more.

Possibly the best fish finger sandwich I have ever had! Been here quite a few times and the food is always great!

Brilliant cafe in the centre of Nottingham and near other amenities. Good customer service and food. Was greeted at the door and me and my friend chose to sit near the back of the cafe where it was quiet. My friend went for a full vegan breakfast and was delighted with her choice whereas I went for the American pancakes. Both were equally delicious and wasn’t too expensive. The iced coffee was brilliant even though it’s not on the menu, it could be asked for. All in all, a brilliant cafe and you get what you pay for.
