Fantastic pub in a little village great atmosphere Jennie and Cheryl brilliant hosts food is amazing couldn’t ask for more

Food was excellent. Portion sizes were good and the service was superb. Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. I'll definitely be going back again. Young guy in singing who was very good too. Certainly had a great wee night all round.

My partner and I came to celebrate our 5th anniversary at the Coorie Inn restaurant, but upon arrival, we were informed that our booking was in the pub section. This is not correct as we clearly booked the restaurant! Disappointingly, upon entering the pub, we found a limited drink selection, with most beers unavailable except for Tennents. The bartender, despite her efforts, was unable to attend to clearing glasses due to being confined to the bar area, resulting in delays for patrons. Additionally, there was a noticeable lack of glassware available. Furthermore, witnessing one of the staff members being abruptly called into the kitchen mid-service by the supervisor was disconcerting and unprofessional. To exacerbate matters, the table adjacent to ours had been waiting for their order for an extended period, only to be informed that no food was being served at the time of our arrival. It was evident that the establishment was understaffed, especially given the concurrent 80-person function taking place nearby. Such oversights in staffing for anticipated events are disappointing and reflect poorly on the management's preparedness. This has a knock on effect to all customers!

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff, food was good. I had a seafood platter which was a generous portion, consisting of individual fish dishes, prawn cocktail, prawns in batter, haddock strips in batter, beautiful mussels in white wine sauce, some bread would have been good. The tartare sauce was excellent and we shared a portion of chips that were just right. I will happily visit again.

We’ve never come across someone so kind, and we will always remember our chat with him. Our daughter talks about him everyday as if he were a relative. While visiting family, we called Into the Black Bull, and they accommodated us as a walk-in table of 6! Staff were lovely, very helpful and food was beautiful we will definitely visit again next time we are in Scotland.

New to area and thought would check out the "old village" part of Cumbernauld. Was very surprised at this little gem tucked away. Staff were so welcoming and friendly, can't fault the service have their presence just right "spookily" right. Food was absolutely beautiful and again can't fault it both for quality and quantity. Would highly recommend and definitely be back again 👍🏻❤️

This is a lovely place to go for food and we felt really well looked after, especially by Abbie, she is a credit to the restaurant, the meals were amazing. We stayed over in the rooms upstairs and felt very comfortable, we will definitely stay again

Fab cocktails , very professional barman

My wife and I are staying at the Black Bull and arranged to meet relatives for a meal, we had a drink in the bar first of all which was a nice atmosphere, seating and decor were modern, drinks were very reasonable, not overly busy for a Thursday evening, the only downside was the entrance doors were next to the main public bar and some people stood near the door smoking. Once seated in the restaurant, the young man serving us brought the menu and asked if we needed more drinks, the menu selection was very good, a nice choice of starters, fish and meat dishes plus traditional pub food food. I opted for muscles followed by steak pie, very very nice, other had haggis, prawn cocktail and mains, lasagna, bolognese & Caesar salad, each of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Unsure why there are a few negative reviews personally for the overall price and service I couldn't fault it, 5 stars from me.

A very decent and reasonably priced restaurant. Nicely decorated with tables set well apart. Serving staff were friendly and professional. It's not "fine dining" but they are a cut above rival restaurants in the immediate area.

I ordered the prawn cocktail starter, fillet steak medium rare main with hand cut chips, onion rings, mushrooms, grilled tomato, re wine jus and some potato mash on the side. The fillet steak was medium to well, closer to the well done side. Bone dry, tough and pretty much tasteless. I doubt it was even fillet. Chips were out of a bag, never seen a hand or a knife. I picked the whole mash up by sticking my folk in the top, thats how dry and stale it was. The red wine jus was gravy, almost identical to chippy gravy but with less taste. Prawn cocktail was average. I wasn't asked how my meal was as I'm sure the waitress knew the answer already, so she didn't even bother to ask. I definitely won't be back, i will opt for a McDonalds next time for a little more taste and freshness.

Second time I've been here and couldn't fault it. The waiter very friendly and service was quick. Food was lovely and presentation was nice. We will definitely be back for a third time

Had a lovely meal here – me seafood tagliatelle; Himself lamb rogan josh. Both really tasty and nice and spicy. Comfortable surroundings and background music quiet – you could hear yourself speak.

First encounter unfortunately will be the last, had really been looking forward to it but it didn’t live up to our expectations, the service was fine but sadly the food very disappointing, lacking in taste, king prawn inferno! It wasn’t, prawns served in a thick tomato base, couldn’t taste the chilli at all! And home made steak pie was very poor, beef not tender and again little taste, pastry nice that was the only good thing about it, chips served burnt! Shame.

We stopped by this restaurant last week and were very impressed by the food, venue and staff. Great prices for quality freshly cooked meals, we will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Disappointed with the quality of the gluten free meal I ordered here. I wanted the fish and chips but was told it was not battered so decided on the chicken burger. The bun was so hard. When I told the waiter he told me the chef was not happy with the quality of the rest of the buns so had it without. The burger came with chorizo which was burnt and solid. All in all I was so disappointed with my experience. I will never go back

We visited last night. 2 couples. The food and service was abysmal!! I had the bacon and Brie parcels, these were cold in the middle. Taste was bland. One of our party had mussels in white wine sauce, she noted the sauce was overly hot as if it had been microwaved. The other 2 starters were chicken tempura which looked like something from farmfoods and mussels in a tomato sauce, which cus said were ok. Onto the main courses. 2 steak pies, one with chips and mine with mash. It was awful. The minimal stew was like shoe leather on both of our dinners. I did mention this to the waiter and he offered to change it but we’d waited so long to be served I couldn’t be bothered with the hassle. Partner had the seafood pasta, most of this was left on the plate as it was overcooked. Cus had the chicken supreme which I would have said was kids size portion. The waiting time for both drink and food was too long. Won’t rush back. Hint to the waiter too, it’s 21st century, don’t call ladies “love”!!

We attended the Coorie In for my mum's 70th birthday. I chose the restaurant for its wide range of British menu options because we have a few fussy eaters in the family. On arrival our hostess and server Abbie was very warm and friendly. We were taking photos of our family and Abbie was lovely enough to offer to take a group photo. She couldn’t have been kinder and more attentive and really is an asset to the restaurant! The food was good - although the side portion of mash potatoes was very small & the mince wasn’t to my taste - but on the whole good quality and the restaurant was lovely - the photos don’t do the place justice. There was a handy car park just across the road and down a lane. A lovely place to eat.

A disappointing meal, Loads on the menu wasn't available, and the service was basic. It could be so good, if only they had a decent Chef that did homegrown food. They would make loads. And that's from a man who has run restaurants and bistros. Oh, and you can't eat decor, it's nice if it's done right, but if the foods not great then the decor seems a waste. Update. Had a response from the Coorie and they couldn't find my booking. Funny, they couldn't when I actually turned up with my group on the day. Several items on the menu unavailable including Pate! I mean, how do you run out of pate? Get the Chef(s) to make it! My comment was taken negatively, which is not what an owner should do. Take the criticism and improve. If everyone just leaves positive comments and the ones that didn't have a good meal don't, then how can you improve your fare?

Went this evening with my husband and two adult children. Service was lovely, starters were good then it all fell apart. My cajun chicken was completely raw!!!!!!!? Not even undercooked, completely raw. Could not face dinner after that so sat with nothing. Although my families dinner was good there was no excuse for such undercooked chicken. The server was horrified when I showed her it and did take the cost of the chicken of the bill and my starter but to be fair I had only ate a very small corner of the chicken (thank goodness) I feel this was a very dangerous and silly mistake to make and will never be back.

Place was busy and took a long time to get served but understandable. However, the food itself didn't taste very nice. When we came home two of us ended up sick. Not sure what was wrong with the food, but expected better.

Was here for a family birthday. Starters were fine - mains were awful, five full plates returned and advised the waiter food wasn’t acceptable. Bill came with nothing deducted and when I commented the waiter said he would get the Manager (waiter was lovely).Manager appeared with her arms folded and stood at the side of the table without speaking, when I said I wasn’t happy to pay full price she said she would have to speak to the chef it wasn’t up to her!!! Attitude left a lot to be desired and eventually took two meals off the bill which definitely didn’t reflect the standard of the food which was cold, greasy and definitely not fresh. Lesson learned, will neither recommend nor return.

Had a great meal here last weekend. The menu is quite pricey for Cumbernauld but sometimes you really do get what you pay for. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, staff pleasant, attentive service and the menu has a great variety of dishes to tempt you back time and time again. Food was great with quality ingredients and a wide selection. Will definitely return.

First thing you notice when you walk in is that it is toasty warm. Food and service both excellent. I had the prawn cocktail, which was extremely generous on the prawns, followed by the grilled sea bass in a prawn and butter sauce which was so so tasty. House Rioja is of high quality.

Received a recommendation to visit for lunch. It was definitely worth the recommendation. The interior design is lovely and has an authentic Scottish theme. Lauren looked after my friend and I very well. The food was delicious and priced well. Definitely would return and recommend.

I ordered a steak dinner take away as a treat. It was ok, the steak was cooked but not the best quality despite the price. It actually took awhile to arrive even though we are local

Restaurant interior is nice inside and had a good cosy atmosphere. Food was tasty and everyone seem happy with their meal. Popped next door to their bar for some after dinner drinks and live music. Great time.

Would love to share a review about food here but after waiting 55 minutes after ordering at a pre booked table we had to leave, having paid for drinks with no sign of food. Only two other covers as far as we could see. Hostess, who was a charming girl apologised that there was a new chef…? We are local, and popped down to support a local restaurant. Had to go as we had other commitments but had a fantastic chippy from Giulianos to fill the gap. I did forget a package that I left on the bench seat which the delivery driver dropped off; appreciated! Management response is welcome.

The Coorie Inn food wise is always mega. Really nice and very reasonably priced. The restaurant has always been clean and welcoming any time we have been in. The only thing that can (and not always) let the place down is the time it takes for your food to arrive. We were nearly an hour before our meal came however when it did it was lovely and it was worth the wait. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are time poor.

Friendly staff and regular visitors

Staff friendly, food lovely. Had the Inferno Prawn starter. Comes with garlic bread, but ordered more to mop up the mouth watering sauce! The smoking area is right beside the no smoking area outside, which was off putting when eating, but space is tight and they have made the best of it. Would recommend. Decent food at a reasonable price. Definitely venture in if you are in the area!
