A great opportunity to spend time with some adorable cats. The cake is great also!

What a wonderful place to visit for an afternoon, 12 different resident cats to say hello to with the youngest I believe being a year old. Delicious cakes and drinks on site and really reasonably priced. Booking to visit is essential which we did through their website and you get to book an hours slot.

My daughter Caitlin and I had wanted to visit for a while.. We spent a relaxed hour enjoying the cafe and saying hello to the cats who live there. Food was nice and it's brilliantly run.. Highly recommend a visit

A friend and I spent a fantastic afternoon in this wonderful place but I can't comment on the food as we went just for the cats! The staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed visiting over a lovely pot of tea All cats and kittens were happy and really well looked after with lots of toys and places to roam. I have visited a few but this is hands down the best cat cafe, and it really shows on the faces of the well loved kitties we saw. Can't wait for my next visit.

Such a wonderfully cosy place to enjoy a great sandwich and a coffee with the most adorable cats. Lounging on a sofa cuddling cats chatting to friends is a lovely way to spend some time. Thank you Alison for looking after us so well and showing how much you love what you're doing ❤️😻

I've been here once before had a great experience and the staff was very welcoming. So brought some friends over again this time. Walked over which resulted in a stay of just over half an hour. The cats are still cute but slightly disappointed with the experience this time around.

So cute and fun, lots of nice things to eat and drink and all the cats were absolute darlings!! Nice, polite staff too.

We booked to visit Cool for Cats Cafe today and had a wonderful time. We were greeted warmly by the ladies and the cats were happy to sit and observe. We purchased coffee and cake which was delicious and very reasonably priced. You know you are supporting such a good cause. All the cats are happy to be smoothed and may come to you for a cuddle if they wish. I have to say I admire these small businesses and charities who are doing their best for animals which other people either shouldn't own or simply know very little about. Neutering is so important! It's a brilliant place a worthy cause and definitely worth a visit. You must pre book as it isn't a large venue but it is much better for the cats. The problem is you will want to bring one home 🐱😸. We had a lovely visit and we hope to call in again. My daughter and husband were smitten and we have two cats of our own!!!

Needs decent coffee, apart from that a very calm chilled space to spend an hour. You need to reserve a slot at £5 each, drinks on top, selection of cakes available, lots of cats to stroke.

This is a lovely place to visit, so relaxing, very friendly, good freshly made food, the cakes looked really good. The cats are really well cared for and have a lovely life. They were friendly and although wary of my daughter's wheelchair, they were also inquisitive. One thing too note is the entrance as you drive in, it is only 1.8m high as it is a bridge for the cats. We have a Peugeot Rifter mobility car. The roof rails scrapped as we went in and out! We hope to go back, but will need to check if there is somewhere else to park.

Been there twice now and it's always been a lovely experience, the cats are super silly and will make you laugh with a range of personalities.

You MUST book apparently. Looked on the website/google maps/trip advisor before we left. It said booking available but not that we had to book. 40 minute car journey from Exeter (stuck in traffic) and was turned away when we arrived as they were fully booked and you have to book an hour slot. I’m sure the place was lovely but not going to attempt it again.

This place has been created with the cats in mind, which is absolutely commendable. However, it is not a cat cafe if you've seen others around the world. It's rather a cat residential home for 12 cats which happens to serve coffee, tea and cake. Bear this in mind when booking, so that you don't go with the wrong expectation. The atmosphere was very friendly, the cats and kittens were fab. There are toys to play with the cats, brushes, magazines, photos, gifts to purchase etc. As soon as we entered the house, we were covered on fleas, and the smell inside is not pleasant, so we sat outside. No idea why there are carpets - would floor tiles not be easier for cleaning away feline accidents? Happy to pay to visit as it's a charity. Prices for food were good value.

We visited from Oxford, and I have to say we were not disappointed, obviously you have to like cats to go here 😉 The staff are cheerful, welcoming and obviously very caring of our feline friends the café cats are very obviously very happy and chilled out ,all have a different caricature and we enjoyed playing with monty who likes to climb on your shoulders and felix who is so chilled out he could be Jamaican 😅 we also visited the rescued cats who have been brought back around from the obviously terrible existence they had previously all the cats were eminently re homeble and anyone one looking for a cat please vist and see the cats you will be glad you did 😀 the food and beverages we both well priced tasty and everything was very clean, the 2 poor reviews we obviously written by persons with some axe to grind as I can assure you I my self have very high standards, they also do boarding and I would be all too happy to entrust my precious cats to them, I can not recommend them enough a very relaxed and intresting visit .

An amazing venue for cat lovers and lovers of cats. Great food and a highly relaxing experience. Everyone who is there including the staff, owners and all the customers you meet are so friendly and will all talk to you. Such a secret nest of peace and tranquility and of course feline therapy.

When our loved cat had to be put to sleep with cancer we booked to go to the cafe for some cat therapy. It cost us £10.00 to book not a problem it is a charity. But we took loads of our unopened cat food up there for there cats to help out. Not even a thank you and it was around £30 worth. We then went into the cafe. We ordered two rolls. Two coffee and a cake which was £19. Nice food. But the cats in the cafe were hungry they were trying to steal food of our plates. They were also fighting. And not interested in cuddling because they were hungry. You could tell. I have dealt with cats all my life including rescuing cats and these were definitely hungry. We will never return. Very disappointed.

Looking for things to do in the area, we found Cool for Cats cafe. We did book in advance, and had a great time. Although the final mile or so up the lane is a bit narrow, it's perfectly doable if you don't mind using passing places. On arrival we were greeted and led to a table. There are about a dozen cats on site, who obviously do their own thing so there's no guarantee whether they'll choose to interact with you, wander off or sleep - but hey, that's what cats do. We were offered a little tub of cat treats, and a quick rattle bought three cats rushing to us. They were even happy to be hand-fed which was nice. It's very clear that the cats are happy, well loved and well looked after, which is important to us as cat lovers, but the cafe itself is also very clean, tidy and with friendly staff there isn't anything to not like. The menu is straightforward, we ordered lunch and it all came out fairly quickly - and was of a good standard and value. The cakes are also very much worth the visit. One tip - if you're eating, book two hours if you can. You don't want to waste all your cat time eating! Although there were enough options on the menu for us, it felt like it could have done with a few more options for mains but I realise that the kitchen is small and it may not be practical to do more. Not a criticism as we certainly felt well fed at the end of our visit. Unfortunately Cool for Cats is about 100 miles from where we live, so it's not somewhere we can go on a weekly basis ... but I am sure we will be back again.

First visit today to this wonderful cafe . I took a person that I support who has autism and learning difficulties. Alison is super friendly and loves to talk about all the cats . Understanding and patient with all the customers. Cakes look lovely and sandwiches well filled . I shall certainly be back . All proceeds go to looking after the cats .

Cool for cats is an amazing place, lovely food, cute cats and wonderful staff. Its been a regular on our holidays to Devon so my cat mad friend can get her quota of fur and purs 💖. You do have to book in advance but the process is easy and there are always plenty of spaces. The eclectic furnishings make it more like having lunch in your lounge with some lovely cats for company. Definitely 5 stars , a wonderful place to visit and all proceeds go to helping the site. The staff are always happy to talk about all things feline and tell you about the centre and the cats.

visited the cat cafe last week and had the best time! staff were so lovely & genuinely cared for the cats - they knew all their individual personalities so well, it was lovely to see. the experience was very reasonably priced & the food & drink was delicious! i’d recommend buying treats for the cats whilst there, you get maximum cat attention this way. definitely somewhere I’ll visit again soon, i really enjoyed it!

What more could you want than to play, stroke and curl up with cats with a lovely cup of tea and a slice of wonderful cake! The cats were affectionate and the kittens were adorable and playful, I would highly recommend a trip to the cat café!

The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The pecan cheesecake that I had was lovely, they offer a variety of cakes, sandwiches and drinks. They tend to only have one party in at a time which is very comforting in regards to Covid. It was very easy and straightforward booking our time slot. Our overall experience was great as this was our first time visiting a cat café. They also had a mini gift shop which I believe all the proceeds went into looking after the cats.

I went here with my granddaughter the other weekend and I couldn’t rate it high enough! The lady that served me was delightful and the cats were clearly very happy and well looked after. Lovely egg Mayo sandwich . Can’t wait to visit again :)

Our visit was a while ago Sept/Oct not sure on exact date Beautiful cats and surroundings. Food was terrible, the girl had been pampering the cat then made out tasteless thick with margarine sandwiches. My friend is familiar with the owner and didn’t want to say anything. I got an upset stomach and other friends also had problems with the hygiene standards so thought it important to give a review. Kitchen looked filthy sadly we won’t be returning

I was delighted to see happy cats resting in a wonderful home. You can tell they are loved and well looked after. The drive up there is a country road which narrows but just take your time and you'll find it.

The most unique cafe i have ever had. I wouldn't say it's everybody's Cup of Tea but if you love cuddles with adorable kittens and a good cuppa, this is the place to be. The waitress there is so friendly, the cafe is quiet. The only problem is it's so sad to leave!

I have to admit to being very disappointed. I did not have the opportunity to cuddle or even just stroke a cat . Having had a cat or twins for over 40 years, I always made sure they were all visitor friendly and encouraged to engage with the many visitors to our home. I had frequent visitors for coffee mornings etc and they particularly loved all workmen, the piano tuner was a favourite. and they all loved my cats. I will not be making a second visit nor recommending one to my cat-loving friends. Your policy not to admit children is to my mind a great mistake. If accompanied by an adult they are unlikely to mistreat an animal. A lovely cup of coffee!

Lovely little place with a ton of friendly cats. Currently has two kittens as well. One fell asleep on my wife's lap which was adorable. Nice for anyone who wants to sit and relax with a purr. Nice staff who run it and a relaxed environment. It is not often I feel comfortable enough to sit on the floor in public.

What stupid place! set up a cat café in a holiday town to help raise money and protect the animals then they don't let anyone in under the age of 16! Could understand not letting kids in on their own but when they are with two adults it just stupid.

Totnes had the 1st ever cat cafe in the UK - FACT. It used to be in the town centre but it's now run from the cats' actual home. You book for 1 hour slots there preferably on-line but you can turn up on the day too & should get in, if they're not full. Today when we went, not only did they have all of the adult cats from before, they also had 11 kittens & you could go into their enclosure to play. Lovely cats & yummy home-made cakes. All proceeds go to their cat re-homing charity.

Drove 2 hours to visit and was well worth the journey! The friendliest staff who have nothing but love for the cats who are clearly the top of their priorities. Such an amazing place, it's a very nice relaxed environment. They take small groups of 12 adults (16+) for an hour. Fresh cakes and tea on offer and occasionally they have kittens that get socialised with customers if they are awake. Highly recommend booking online and visiting.

Was out on a work job in the area and fancied a cuppa and decided to call in. The staff were extremely welcoming as we're all the cat's. I've never been to a place like this before. I was very pleased to see the love and care given to all the cats, both the ones that live there and those that are boarding. I would not have a problem with housing my cats here. I have visited so many times I have lost count! So relaxing, such lovely cats with lively personalities. The cakes are really excellent too, and always a friendly welcome. There is disabled access and lavatory. In warm weather there is outside seating. If you love cats you will love the cat cafe.

We were made very welcome on our arrival and once we had ordered our food and coffee we settled on a huge sofa and waited. Cats appeared from all sorts of places, some were nosy, others just being cats having fun and racing in and out of the main room. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious and the Cappuccino Crunch cake was to die for! All the cats were happy and obviously much loved by the staff, who were also very friendly and even let us see the tiny 2 week old kittens. We spent time out in the sun in the garden watching catty goings on - sunbathing, chasing, hiding and allowing petting. Well worth the £4 entry and we will certainly be going again!

What a wonderful place! The cats are all such characters and well cared for. They obviously love having visitors and enjoy coming to meet you and check you out. We had a variety of lovely cakes and coffee and it was so relaxing just to sit and watch them all. We are going back again later this week.

It really is a lovely place here. Having only recently discovered it, we have visited twice now. The cats are all adorable and it is so nice to see them so very much at home. Lovely atmosphere cosy and quiet with classical music playing on low in the background. Very comfy seating for all, cats and visitors ! Restricted numbers which i like so it's calm for all and a reasonable charge of £4 each. The Lime Key Pie on my last visit was absolutely delicious ! Love my visits here.

I am always delighted to spend an hour or two at the Cat Cafe . You can either book on-line in advance or can simply turn up on the day but if it is full you might be turned away. It is a £4 charge/person regardless of whether you book in advance or pay on the day to help support the cats. There are around 10 cats who come over most days that it is open and they are very friendly. There is a good selection of cakes and they generally have at least one option of sandwich and good drinks selection. There is also a little gift shop there with a great supply of cat-related presents eg cards, teatowels, soft toy cats etc etc. The staff are always very welcoming and obviously love the cats and the cats love them and we always enjoy a good chat about what the cats have been up to. The cats will be 'everywhere' so no good if you don't want a couple of cats on the coffee table whilst you are trying to eat your sandwich. However most people there, like me, are cat mad and this all adds to the entertainment. After a couple of visits you really start to know the cats names and their personalities which is lovely. The booking is for one hour but depending on how busy it is you might be able to stay longer. It is open Wednesday through to Saturday 10am - 4pm. They do not allow anyone under the age of sixteen due to insurance regulations and the fact that both cats and people want to have a quiet, relaxing time! Definitely recommended for an afternoon of de-stressing if you are a cat lover.

Fantastic cafe, so nice to chill out with the cats. Domino is so cheeky when he trys to steal the milk and Jet is a gentle giant. Lovely cakes, the staff are so nice.

I have visited the cafe twice now, and have loved it both times! Wonderful surroundings, delicious cakes, blissful coffee, friendly staff and GORGEOUS PUSSY CATS!! What more can I say? If you love cats then do not hesitate to make the trip! Highly recommend!

Cool for Cats is an awesome place to go to eat good cake, drink nice coffee, play with cats and chat to friendly staff. The cats are obviously well looked after, and are playful and not nervous at all! The cafe is cosy and has plenty of comfy seats. My only regret is I live 100s of miles away, so can only visit when i'm seeing family that live in the area!

A quaint little cafe house full if cats. Not too crowded with booking in advance, and tea/coffee and cakes are available. For those who love cats it's a purrfect hour treat or gift.
