Condesa in City of London, Westminster

Lovely cozy tapes restaurant tucked in a small alley in Covent Garden. We had lunch there during a weekday, so it wasn't crowded and was great to catch up with friends. We ordered several dishes and they are all great, but I loved the octopus the most, it was tasty and tender. The restaurant is on the expensive side but guess it's Covent Garden, so price range would be higher. Overall it was a pleasant dinning experience.

Condesa was a great tapas bar with a mix of Spanish and Mexican influence, the food was amazing, I am a picky eater and I enjoyed every dish, specially the roasted heritage carrots, the solomillo sliders and the black rice. Great vibes and service. I recommend it!

Crammed space, party of 4 squeezed to a table for 2. Food mediocre 😕, had better experience at McDonald's nearby at a fraction of the cost.

Condesa conned us with their impressive reviews but very poor quality food and service. The squid was like rubber and the tortilla cold. When we complained the staff were speaking negatively about us in Spanish not realising we heard every word. Avoid. The worst tapas I have had and I regularly visit Spain

A compact venue (so best book online) with a small but delicious menu. We ordered five items which one-by-one trumped one other in the taste stakes. Great food and good service, but pricey.

Friends chose this place for a pre theatre 'meal'. The place is very small, estate agents would call it very cosy. The staff are very pleasant and attentive. The food is nice. The concept of tapas is understood to be an appetitive meal, it is just to feed you until your main meal later. The concept gets lost if the price tags are on par with a main meal itself. I know it's London but it really isn't justified .

Great food, bustling little bar Delicious fresh made tapas. The bar was packed, so hectic but good atmosphere. Tapas a little slow to arrive as each element carefully cooked separately, but the chefs were working their socks off. Would have liked a bit more on each plate, but they were delicious.

Desde el momento en que entramos, debimos darnos la vuelta al ver la reacción de la camarera. No nos habíamos sentado en la mesa y ya nos estaba preguntando de forma súper arrogante si íbamos a tomarnos algo. Dos minutos después de sentarnos vino a preguntarnos si ya sabíamos lo que queríamos tomar. Pedimos dos vinos tintos (servidos en copa de agua) elegidos al azar por las prisas y por decidimos no pedir más. 15 minutos después, teniendo aún bebida en la copa, sin mediar palabra, nos dejaron el ticket en la mesa. Cero recomendable.

Food was amazing! Good mix and had nice black rice special! As a warning, it can be bit busy going on a Friday night, bit small, noisy and dark, like a bar and some food took time. However, overally satisfied!

Great wee place. Food was delicious and service very good. Nice atmosphere- we found it perfect for pre theatre food. Good location would recommend.

We stumbled across this restaurant by accident while searching for another and I’m so glad we did. I always forget to leave reviews but this place was so special I vowed to write something. The service is really friendly and personal and the feel of the restaurant is like a bar in Barcelona that only the locals would know about. So unusual for this part of London. Highly recommended.

So happy to of found this gem! Nestled in a beautiful street off Covent Garden, my friend and I randomly stumbled across it. Now our go to place. The pork sliders were to die for and the cocktails did not disappoint. Service was great we were looked after by a lovely lady called Melissa. Highly recommend

A great tapas experience. Between two people we ordered 5 dishes (and 5 glasses of wine) and it was plenty filling. A really nice range of meat and fish options and had an authentic Spanish feel to the meal. The wine list isn't incredibly long but has enough width to accommodate different palletes. The only downside was our server. She was really nice when she did come to the table, but was preoccupied with a single person at the bar for the majority of the time. It's a smaller restaurant but didn't feel overly crowded even at 8 pm on a Friday night.

Arrived a bit late after theatre. Staff on duty were super welcoming and professional. They served us food at the very last second and it was delicious. Matilde and her colleague were lovely, professional and kind. Excellent experience. Will come back! Yummy food!

I found this little gem by mistake. The best wine, the best people and the best food! Everyone there is awesomely awesome, prolly cos they are not British. Super friendly super tasty and quality wines. My favourite place in Covent Garden!

I had a wonderful experience at the restaurant when celebrating my friend's birthday. The service was exceptional, and the staff went above and beyond to make it a special occasion. They even added candles to our dessert and sang a birthday song. We truly appreciate the effort and the delicious food. Thank you to the staff for making this celebration memorable!

We’ve been to this lovely tapas bar for many years, although it’s been a good few months since we visited Happy to see there has been a refurb’ and the stool tables for 2 (generally used for 4 with only space for 2) have been upgraded to some low level seating and the kitchen / bar area extended to accommodate a busy tapas bar Anyway we visited today and the refurbed bar this eve (Friday night- not so busy ….. wonder why) isn’t what it used to be and the prices for the tapas was shocking. We were 4 ppl and the bill was £245 , for a tapas bar with the bites being small I consider that expensive Service and atmosphere not what it used to be before the refurb , food generally as nice and interesting as it was before but really a lot more expensive Overall we feel we’ve exhausted our favourite tapas venue by the owners wanting more but getting less

Honestly one of the best tapas places I’ve ever been to.. and I’ve been to a fair few …food wise as well as service and everything else in between… don’t think twice about going in..

Just love trying tapas places and this was a great find. We booked a table and there wasn't one available when we arrived but the waiting staff looked after us and eventually we were seated properly, after a short stint sitting near the open kitchen where the chef seemed a little stressed, and occasionally berated his staff, which was a bit awkward but hey they're famous for that, I guess. We enjoyed the cocktails and it was lovely to see a carafe for the wine. The food selection is small but then the kitchen is too, and to be fair the speed at which our dishes arrived was impressive. The food was quite nice, basic but again you have to take it in the context of the limited space. The charcuterie was gorgeous, olive oil delicious, and the tacos very tasty. Octopus was a little overpriced but it's usually my favourite, I was a little underwhelmed by the portion and texture but the the hummous and sauce that accompanied it, with some extra bread, made up for it. Overall a nice experience with great front-of-house staff who worked very hard to please, just not the best food within its own bracket.

This is a real gem. The freshly prepared sangria, friendly staff, strong Spanish vibe and the owners were even sitting in the back when we were there. Food was outstanding, service was quick and gave the perfect tapas style multi plate experience.

I had an incredible dinner at Condesa Tapas in Covent Garden and I'm thrilled to recommend it to everyone! The food was out of this world and the service was impeccable too, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff who made the experience even better. The ambiance added to the charm, making it the perfect spot for a memorable evening. Trust me, if you're in Covent Garden and craving some fantastic Spanish cuisine, Condesa Tapas is a must!

Awful, noisy, uncomfortable and anyone who thinks this is an authentic tapas restaurant has clearly never been to Spain. Mediocre tortilla, a plate of what tasted like shop bought salami with bread stick leftovers, and an inedible squid and rice dish. What a waste of £60

Very nice place and staff, went with a couple of friends and we really had a great time, specially because of Raquel, she was very helpful and kind and showed us what’s an outstanding customer service like. Every single one of the staff was awesome, from the chef to the rest of the team, they really treated us great. Last but not least, food was incredible, and wine was tasty. Definitely will come back sooner than later, highly recommend this place if you want to have a lovely day surrounded by nice staff and delicious food!!

Quick tapas - great for pre-show light meal

I would start off by saying that I did not look at the menu before coming and I am a vegetarian. There were not a ton of vegetarian options. The sikil pak was really good! Good spicy. But the rest of the meal really was below what they charge. They had BBQ crispy corn that was literally just corn nuts. Also their tomate con pan was pretty subpar. Overall I would not recommend. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was intimate. If you enjoy meat maybe there is something on the menu for you!

Laced among a restaurant filled street, Condesa is a very small, compact restaurant that packs a punch when delivering great service and food. From the outside looking in you’d never expect the level of food quality and the tapas style dining that provides a fairly large menu. This leaves you with so many options for the small bite sized dishes that really fill you up quickly. Each plate was well presented, the flavours and textures were more than immense. It really was like bite sized pieces of heaven and with such fresh ingredients it can be easy to fault the dishes. Thankfully, one plate after the other kept getting better. The day we went was really a spontaneous decision while roaming the area and we arrived just before dinner service. The restaurant was basically empty and only one waitress on shift. We couldn’t of been luckier on the day to have such a great and enthusiastic waitress who recommended the best plates on the menu and took great care of us from start to finish. As soon as we left it was time for dinner service and immediately the restaurant was packed. It’s clear to see how popular this place is because of the intimate size, atmosphere and phenomenal food. There’s so much to eat and drink that even on a full stomach, you wish you had room to eat more from the menu. This is a highly recommended place for dining and not stretching your pockets looking for great flavours.

Fabulous tapas, wine and staff! Not an extensive menu so we pretty much tried all. The black squid ink rice was my favourite. Service was stupendous. Bravo!

Great tapas…just a bit on the expensive side but that is what you pay for in Covent Garden!

Food quality was fantastic. Experience really enhanced by incredibly friendly staff and smooth pace to plates being brought out. The variety and quality of the dishes were very enjoyable. The small, family feeling setting means you can see the kitchen from most seats and it feels personal.

Lovely little place, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is authentic tapas (which I love) but if you are expecting the Las Iguanas style of food you won’t like it as much (my friend didn’t). I’d definitely go back, but with a different friend!!!

Small place . 3 tables inside. Waitress dont know the menu. Never talk about the food on the plate and Also after all of this bad experience. It was so so expensive 2 beers 2 cocktail and 1 little board of cheese 88 Pounds i was shocked .

Awesome place and kitchen, the octopus with humous is heavenly delicious, pig cheeks tacos is melting. Customer service is on high level, definitely I will come back Btw.: yes, the place is expensive, me and my 4 other friends - 5 people in total we shared a bill of something like £650 😂

Popped in as walked past London venue after pub with mate v v hungry! Menu not too broad as to be a dilemma but the ambience sold it big time! Felt like Spain ‘autentico! After a consult w the knowledgeable and friendly staff the tapas and mains flowed. Go! Try! Eat w your eyes and your senses! ( and the White wine from Huaro was amazing too) - oh the Sliders are melt in the mouth good! If greedy like us w a bottle of wine - 3 tapas and a main to share- £approx 100

We had a reservation that stated two hours and were offered a choice of tables when we arrived. However when we made our choice we were told that the better table was only available for an hour and to stay for our whole reservation we would have to sit by the toilet. This was less than enjoyable as they seem to have some significant plumbing issues. Until we were seated there we were planning on taking our time but in the end stayed just less than an hour anyhow. Food was good, service was surly and most less wordless. This place always used to be great so I'd probably give it another chance. It wasn't a great night out this time though. Edit - Yes, the review is for the right place. The smell from the basement toilet easily reaches the table by the door down to it. And Saturday evening you did just offer us an hour at the table that wasn't there!

Comfy tapas spot! On a Saturday evening, we didn't have a booking and wanted a warm place for tapas and found this place. The hostess was so nice to be able to give us a really comfortable 3 person booth inside and away from the door. The food was delicious! We got the ham, cheese, and the sliders. All amazing and quite filling. I also got a glass of orange wine - great way to end the evening. I can't wait to come back here again!

We come here again and again. The food is consistently good and the service is great. They have just reopened after a refurbishment which has greatly improved the ambience and comfort for guests but the food, thank goodness, has not changed. Highly recommended

I am puzzled by the raving reviews. This is a bar with snacks, not a restaurant. The choices are limited. The quality is good. The service slow. The prices high. Not a place I would care to visit again.

This was nice, but a little expensive (we went for lunch). If I went again, I'd go for a drink and a snack. The amontillado and tomato bread were excellent.

An amazing experience, introducing our teenage children to tapas and they all loved the experience. The food, atmosphere…everything. The food was creative and wonderful, even our pickiest eater was adventurous and loved every bite.

Amazing place for food and drinks

Spectacular place that transported me to the Mediterranean. The food is top end restaurant quality, but with the friendly service of a local haunt. We will be going back and hoping that the beef and goats cheese is still on the menu.

Friendly, smiley waiters and tasty food. It's mezze only (no full meal-sized dishes). Beware that it's very, very busy and there is very little space (you will need to control your elbows). Perfect for a pre-theatre drink, but not for a long sit down dinner. Tables are given for 1.5 hour slots. A table for 4 with one bottle of wine and several mezze came out to £180.

Prezzi esagerati!!!!! Porzioni minuscole. Abbiamo preso una mini tartare di gamberi (12 Pound), del pane e pomodoro ( 6pound) e 2 gin a 12 euro ciascuno. Pensavamo di cenare, ma quando abbiamo visto le porzioni, abbiamo neanche fatto aperitivo. Consiglio se si vuole andare a bere del buon gin.

Not good service at all. We were waiting for more than 30 mins for our order and after all the time the waitress realised that she forgot it. In addition, we had a bottle of wine which was not served or presented by the waitress. The food is overvalued. I would not recommend it.
