Commandery Coffee in Worcester

The good people who run this cafe are worth a visit on their own. I stayed overnight nearby and had my bike stolen and they could not of been more helpful or understanding - even offering a free coffee while I sorted it all out. A lovely spot by the canal.

We had a lovely lunch by the canal in the sunshine ☀️. Our toasties were fantastic with the cheese oozing out just as it should 🤤. My only slight disappointment was that they didn't have the Mac n cheese toastie that others have mentioned 😄

Really horrible experience here yesterday, which is really sad because we've had some nice times here in the past, I went with two friends and their children so 8 kids in total, after going to a FAMILY event at the commandary, We were sat outside and the children were playing after lunch and had got a bit noisy and excited. The male owner came out to speak to us gave us no warning, was clearly really angry, loud voice, trying to intimidate us, not even really giving us the chance to apologise, scared the children (2 of whom are autistic and became very upset) I'm 100 percent sure that if any of our husbands had been present he would not have spoken to us like that! And in my opinion he was completely overreacting. The second time he came out to have another go at us he'd barely given us chance to finish our drinks and pack our stuff away! The female staff were all lovely and were very helpful, and had plenty of opportunity to ask us politely ( we are perfectly nice people and would totally have respected them! )

Lovely garden next to the canal, so you can enjoy your food inside or out. Great how they do toastie of the week and soup of the day. Tasty homemade food.

An enjoyable few hours at the comandery and then refreshments in the cafe. Very busy,but plenty of seating inside and out. Limited cakes...lots of brownie choices. Toasties looked fab. Hood drinks selection and different milks if needed.

Possibly the best cafe in Worcester! The coffee is amazing and the toasties and cakes are incredible. Definitely look out for the toasties of the week, especially the cheesy garlic bread toastie and Mac n cheese toastie, as they are incredible. The owners are really lovely and always up for a chat. All the cakes and toasties are homemade with a great selection. The outside seating by the canal is possibly one of the best locations in Worcester. We come here a lot and it's always excellent!

Toasty of the week amazing as always

Really excellent lunch. We had toasties which were excellent and made with care and attention to detail. 2 daughters had cakes as well loved them.

Always a friendly greeting and scrummy cakes on offer. Washed down with a good cup of coffee.

First time visiting last weekend. Very much enjoyed our iced lattes sitting by the canal in the sun. The cakes are delicious too and so many to choose from! All the staff we met were lovely. Looking forward to our next visit.

Writing this as I’m sat in their garden overlooking the canal. Friendly staff. Beautiful freshly baked treats - I tried the white chocolate and raspberry brownie which was gooey, sweet and well balanced with the sharpness from the raspberries. Lots of gluten and dairy free options too.

The drinks and food all seem to be exactly as you'd expect; very decent quality. But it's the location that really makes it a prime meeting spot for those of us who are worried most about Covid safety. It's got excellent and comfortable outdoor seating options and a very decent amount of space so you don't have to feel crammed in. And no review would be complete without mentioning the charm of being able to watch the swans drift past on the canal over the rim of your mug!

My friend & I cycled through the rain & hail along the canal from Solihull to Worcester. First thing we needed on arrival in the city was excellent coffee & cakes. We were beckoned in by the owners & found both Suitably fortified, we set off in search of the train station to get home

Quiet location alongside the canal in the historic Worcester Commandery grounds. Both are well worth a visit. We shared and enjoyed a tasty cheese toastie and Bakewell slice.

If you are in Worcester and looking for cake this is the place to go! The selection is wonderful and all are delicious! They also do a great selection of drinks and other food. Great that they now have lots of tables outside, many of which are covered. It is in a wonderful quiet location beside the canal but easy reach of the city centre and the river.

Lovely cappuccino and choice of cakes on this cold March afternoon. We arrived late but most obliging staff were happy to help us.

I love Commandery because it's so little & local business with kind staff that will chat with you and better your mood! They offer many homemade desserts that are vegan/gluten or dairy free! Coffees, hot chocs & a wide tea range are also on a menu... Overall the café is a great place to grab snacks & drinks when you're on a walk for example, because it is right on the canals in a such a nice spot! They also offer swan food for only £2 which is a great deal & you can connect with a wildlife!💛

As always it’s so lovely to go to the Commandery Coffee cafe where you always receive a lovely warm welcome from Gemma in particular. She’s always bright and bubbly. Yesterday - Tuesday 2nd Feb was the first day or reopening after they’ve had a little makeover!! (For takeaway only due to Covid) Such an improvement and makes the cafe look bigger and brighter. We had the jacket spud with tuna - lovely; and tried the gluten free and dairy free orange and almond cake - delicious!! Neither of us are gf or df - we just liked the look of the moist cake. Thanks Gemma and team. Keep up the good work!! Stay safe.

Vegan cake! Dog biscuits! Is that not enough to draw you in? Ok, ok - every single time I’ve been here, I’ve been blown away by the selection of vegan cakes, brownies and biscuits, all of which I could eat ten of (that’s not a boast - they’re just that good). Every time I take my four-legged friend with me he’s showered with affection, despite, more often than not, being stinky and mounting everything he can. Did I mention that there’s cake?

Nice that it was open, thought they were unprepared to cope with the numbers, really long wait even allowing for the circumstances.

Close to the centre but quietish location by the canal. Interior is a bit austere but we sat outside in the sun which was lovely. Food menu is very limited - couple of salads and 3 toastie options - but were very food. Lots of home made cake options too and excellent coffee. Recommended overall.

I often visit here when in Worcester. The garden is lovely with plenty of room. Canal Boats float by and its right by the water and tow path so there is plenty to look at. The people running the cafe are friendly and helpful serving lovely snacks, drinks, ice creams, cakes etc .There is a toilet you can use which is no bad thing in these very strange times when lots are not available. A great place to stop away from the bustle of the main city and i really recommend it.

This is a lovely hidden gem close to the middle of Worcester. A beautiful spot next to the Commandery and the canal. Excellent coffee, lovely cakes and stunning toasties. But what makes the crucial difference is the genuinely warm welcome from the owners who are absolutely delightful.

It's open! Lindsay and I had a lovely tasty lunch [toastie] and coffee today (Sat 11 July). We sat outside, overlooking the canal, & 3 narrow boats sailed by - using the nearby lock. Altogether a great (l o n g) lunch! Can't wait to go back.

We were staying in Worcester for a weekend break, deciding to take a walk along the canal we found this lovely coffee stop. So glad we did, staff very friendly and great coffee too. Plenty of cake so we opted to have a slice, well why not ? Definitely strongly recommend this place

This cafe is small but very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend. This cafe could show others how to do it. For someone who has dairy & gluten allergies usually my experience is limited but this cafe not only had a variety of herbal teas but had a choice of 4 cakes!! The cakes were delicious. Very reasonably priced. If you have children they have even set up a colouring table for them.

The young lady who runs this is just gorgeous. It's worth a visit just to see her always uplifting 😁 The coffee and toasty are the best I found in Worcester. The people that frequently use the establishment are friendly and like a conversation. Dogs allowed in as well. Enjoy.

Boris and Toby are our dogs and they love dropping into this cafe four miles into our six mile walk. The staff make a real fuss of them (and us). Great coffee and cakes. We love it!

If you want to feel welcomed the moment you step through the door and then be served fresh, delicious food then Commandery Cafe is the cafe to go to in Worcester! Dog friendly (both inside and in the lovely garden area overlooking the canal) is an understatement - after only one visit our dog made his own way into the cafe and I found him getting fuss and hugs and having a wonder time - he almost looked disappointed that I'd caught up with him! 10 out 10!
