Popped in today to watch the football. Ordered food which arrived in good time and was well cooked. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Booked a table today and had a wonderful steak. Very nicely cooked and attentive servers. Great atmosphere for the match.

The food is ok, service is poor. Twice we booked a table recently, twice we got there was no table. This never happened with old landlords Carol and Eddie. The new landlord is like Lord Lucan. Outside is dirty and unkempt. Wetherspoons is better, that is how dire it is now.

One of the best pubs in Abingdon. Their food is really good and they are always really busy. If you like to go there book a table with time. The new Landlord and his team are doing a great job due the big shoes that they need to fit after Eddie and Carol left. But they are nice, funny and hardworkers. They make you always feel at home. Best days to go there, rugby days and Liverpool matches, the atmosphere is amazing and the regulars are really friendly!. Believe me give this pub a chance and you will fall in love!

Our local pub.. new landlord (Oscar) is a good bloke and provides a warm welcome. Good atmosphere and plenty of events on and planned. Roll on summer and continue the great work 👍

After a long day, me and my boyfriend decided to pop in the pub to have some dinner and a very much needed few drinks :) The atmosphere was amazing, the staff was polite and helpful and quickly showed us to a table. We ordered a glass of Giotto Pinot Grigio, delightful to say the least and a pint of Greene King IPA - one of the staff recommended it to us and it was a good choice. As for the food I had the fish and chips and my boyfriend had the Cumberland sausages and mash. The food was greaat :) for sure we will pay another visit. The GM was on duty that night and he came to check on us to make sure everything is alright - extra points for doing so. Little did we know that he just took over the pub recently. He was very attentive and knew what he was doing, we would like to wish good luck to him and his team.

Loved it. Cosy, nice staff, good food, cold drinks, everything we could ask for. Went there with my partner and had the fish and chips and the dark fruits cider, and it was delicious. We'll definitely repeat.

This is a lovely looking pub! Clean, stylish, comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The sunday roast was delicious and the beer well kept. We'll definitely visit again, if we're in Abingdon.

Meant to having lunch in there only 1 bar staff on and assistant manger cooking not a chef waiting time went from half an hour to hour and half. Left straight away. Won’t be going back was our local very disappointed. Poor Eddie and Carol had a brilliant pub with in weeks gone down hill

A friendly pub BUT..... the 2 meals for £11.75 was very disappointing. The Cumberland Sausage & Mash was okish but the sausage was hard, and the Beef Lasagne had a disgusting taste! I went to the bar to complain and was told i could have a dessert or £3 refund! I wouldn't recommend. Extremely disappointed, upset and left hungry!

We have often visited the college oak as a means for a quick and wholesome meal out. More then likely come up as a family of 5 and have never waited more then 30 mins for a meal at the busiest of times. Food is always top level the same as service always with a smile. My 9Yr old wanted to say something on here so…. “The best food in the whole entire world, the Chic’N’Mix is my favourite and I want to come every day” I literally can’t fault the place. We moved here 3 years ago and one of the many reasons was the proximity to a really highly rated family run pub and if I’m honest you couldn’t get better. I have hosted friends and work events here and they could not have been more than accommodating. I think I will be using this establishment for the years coming indefinitely.

Fabulous meal as always, cannot fault the food, service or the price, its a family favourite for all of our family and we all regularly go here

We visit here often and have left a review before but felt in necessary to leave a review again based on the service we received tonight. Lucas and greg where amazing, kept us well engaged with conversations about formula 1 and football although Lucas was not happy about the result from the weekend. Great service well done guys

Went for a meal at lunchtime and for four people including tips it cost us £40.00. The choice and value was excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going again.

This is our local and we do often eat here, but rarely on a Sunday.If we eat out on a Sunday we usually head into Oxford and end up paying a small fortune.Stayed local this week and so glad we did, two of us had the steak, one had the roast and I had the beef and ale pie. It was all tremendous, tasted great and really generous portions. The pub was quite busy as the footie was on, (well done Liverpool!) so food took a little longer than usual, but well worth the wait and the atmosphere was great! Attentive staff as usual, great service, great food, what more do you need?

Today was our first visit to College Oak and we will certainly be going back. The staff were all lovely and very friendly. The food was excellent, tasty, freshly cooked and well presented. A brilliant choice on the menu and a wry good choice on the children’s part of the menu. They also have special offers on certain days. Nothing was too much trouble and the value for money was excellent.

I know we are living in covid times, however zero service when you have ordered food is unacceptable. I was given a tiny knife and fork, no interest in welfare of our food etc...no ate with kids kitchen utensils.The pub was quiet so no excuse as the standard used to be great.Wish we had cooked and stayed at home as more attentive.

Although not the largest of pubs, it packs all the key ingredients in - good selection of beers, friendly knowledgeable staff, excellent food and a great atmosphere. Best to get here early you’ll get in ahead of the crowd and be assured of a seat.

Booked table for 18.30 planning on having a roast for four of us. Lovely table outside, pub was busy so they advised an hour's wait for food. Happy to wait and it actually came sooner. Portion size is great, tasted great, super service from Lizzie, she checked on us often and brought over a take away box for my daughters leftovers. Very happy overall

I have had the pleasure of visiting The College Oak on a number of occasions for The Euros and the atmosphere has been fantastic.The pub is very professionally managed and even with the Covid restrictions in place, we have managed to all really enjoy the atmosphere and cheer on our lads.Well done to Eddie, Carol and The Team.It’s coming home to The Oak ⚽️

We came to the College Oak for lunch today 23/06/2021 12.30pm, there were 4 of us. We had booked the table in advance online. The staff, food and service were very good. The food was very good quality and quantity. It was quite busy, but the service was very quick. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very Covid safe. Would highly recommend the College Ock and will be returning very soon.

We visited for a meal from the Christmas Festive menu and we were not disappointed! We pre-booked our meal and table a few weeks ago on the Green King app which was very easy to use. When we arrived at the College Oak we were shown to our socially distanced table. All the Covid precautions were in place and excellently adhered to by all the team in the pub. We pulled our crackers and then enjoyed a really great meal of prawn cocktails and then roast turkey. All the team in the College and friendly and polite and the management team of Eddie and Carol are the best hosts you could wish for.

We popped in for a quick meal yesterday evening. The pub have coped amazingly post lockdown and the food was really hot and tasty! Excellent service and the staff are so friendly. I was pleased at the number of vegetarian/vegan options. We will be back :)

Visited twice for food, excellent fresh food supplied by the lovely Carol, great value. All staff, Eddie and the girls very efficient, smart, polite and welcoming. Can't fault and would highly suggest a visit. My wife doesn't really like pubs but she was very impressed and will not hesitate to go back for more.Very covid aware also.

Popped in for a couple of drinks on Sunday. Lovely friendly service from the smiley lady behind the bar and made to feel welcome. Unfortunately this was all ruined when we witnessed her being belittled (in front of customers!) By another female member of staff for no reason. So unprofessional and really made us feel awkward. How on earth the smiley lady kept it together in front of us, God knows. She's deserves a medal for putting up with that! I'd have left a tip but didn't want it to be going to this nasty woman who obviously likes to throw her weight around. I hope the senior managers don't let this sort of thing happen again, disgusted.

We decided to have a family meal at the College Oak after hearing so many recommendations from friends. It's a little out of the way for our normal destination, but wow was it worth it! The food was great and superb value for money. From the moment we arrived we were greeted and treated in a really friendly and professional manner by the manageress and lovely staff. I really couldn't fault it, and we will be heading back soon.

Came here with some old friends last week for lunch and we were not disappointed. The menu was huge so there was plenty to choose from. Food didn’t take long at all and it was very nice. The pub was clearly social distanced and felt very safe. I’m sure we will visit again soon.

Just had another superb meal in our local. Outstanding food and service as always. Staff very friendly and helpful. Felt very secure following the new guidelines and the staff very much on the ball with checking everyone doing what they should he. Can not recommend this pub enough.

Popped into the college oak for a spot of lunch & was pleasantly surprised by all the covid measures in place. They talk you through everything while seating you at your table, including who is keeping the pub clean. The place looks great & has a real local feel about it. I ordered on the app, which was easy to use, my drink arrived quickly. When my food arrived, it was piping hot & looked amazing, tasted as good as it looked. The service was top notch, from the host that seated me to the server, who easily talked me into having dessert I will definitely be back.

Came in to watch the footy last week and had the best time...the manager Eddie gets right involved and remains COVID safe all shift. Food was great I had the cheese and bacon burger and I was not disappointed. Keep up the good work guys and continue to make people like me feel safe

We came back to Abingdon 5 years after we moved home to Denmark. Although we haven't been back for five years, Carol at the College Oak recognized us at once and greeted us warmly. The atmosphere is lively without being loud. You can tell that it's a sports pub and a favourite of the locals. The food is even better than we remembered it. It was a great experience to come back here, and we'll definitely stop by the next time we're in Oxfordshire.

Yet again had a fabulous meal celebrating Mum & Dad Diamond Wedding Anniversary, the food as always was freshly cooked and piping hot, our visit is made all the more special by Carol & Eddie and there great team of staff who do every thing to make sure we all have a great time, looking forward to our next visit, sure it won't be long

Nice pub with great staff and lovely food (thanks Carol!) As for sports pub, more a Football pub really. They may advertise Six Nations but expect one screen and no sound if the footy's on!

We have only just started visiting this pub and have now been 4 times now.We are very impressed with the service, staff who are very friendly, atmosphere of the whole place, and most importantly the food which is very good value and a lot to choose from. We usually book a table before hand as it does tend to get very busy. We highly recommend this pub, and will keep returning.

My wife and I called here for my75th birthday meal,really enjoyed ourselves good food, rump steak with a pint of 6x,plus a glass of wine merlot. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff very helpful. Will certainly call again.

I would recommend this pub for watching sport (two or three different events shown daily on multiple TVs), drinking and eating. The prices are excellent and food is well prepared.

Four people in our party visited the College Oak at 18.30,on a Monday,for an evening meal with drinks.It was easy to order our meals from the menu,and didn't have long to wait.The service at the bar was good with friendly staff and a smile.The food was well cooked and good quality.The toilets clean & tidy.

I think the pub is great, Carol is a absolute sweetheart, however the food over the last couple of months isn't so good.

Lovely Pub with a very diverse surrounding (Budgens, local Chinese, fish and chips etc). Owners are extremely friendly and look after staff very well. All staff are always smiling and act very professionally towards customers. The Greene King food Menu caters for everyone and there are always offers on drinks. One of the best pubs I have been to, will definitely be back.

Decided to give the pub a try to watch the matches instead of nipping in for food. Absolutely fantastic, great service, didn’t have to wait long to be served, and the atmosphere was brilliant, we will defo be back for the champions league final

Friendly place, I can take the grandchildren after school or just sit with some friends and have a bit to eat. The food is very good e staff are lovely.

Visited here with friends on a very, very busy and rainy day and expected to have to wait ages to be served at the bar and for food to be delivered to table, but it wasn’t like that at all. Staff were very efficient and quick and four meals arrived at our table within 20 minutes, which was excellent considering how busy they were. Food was hot, fresh and tasty, so all in all it was an excellent choice for Sunday lunch. Great local pub !

I visited the College Oak twice with two different sets of friends for our Christmas nights out.

We booked a table at the College Oak for our “gin club” Christmas party for the second year in a row. The food was lovely and always such good value for money. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. It really is a great local, thanks to Eddie, Carol and the rest of their team!

Amazing Sunday roast beef dinner, will be back for another go. Great atmosphere and great staff. Highly recommend and excellent value for money.
