Coffi Co - Bayscape in Cardiff

We waited 20 minutes for our drinks, and a total of 1 hours for our food. The service was not great. Food is ok but nothing special.

This has been our little oasis in the bay for a couple of years.....unfortunately, its begining to loose its edge. Longer delays with food orders, double charging via the app, food either tepid or slightly burnt (pancakes on the last 3 visits have been poor). Such a shame....love the location and the team are fantastic......May reflect its increased popularity! The owners need to invest in a few more front of house team to keep the standards / reputation!

Fantastic! My daughter and I had brunch there. Mine was the Lounge Breakfast and hers the veggie option. Everything, including the baked beans, was home made. The food was hot, and big portions! We were full all day! Just one thing, bigger plates would have been easier. Service was great, and a lovely spot. We'll be back!

Kurt was very professional, polite and chatty. The food and drinks were great, I particularly recommend the red velvet cake. There's a nice variety of different coffees, it was nice to be able to try something different!

A pleasant, busy coffee shop with views over the harbour to watch the water birds & boats coming & going. We sat indoors, but there is plenty of outdoor seating if the weather permits. The cafè is doggy friendly too, bonus!

Great place for coffee or a bite to eat. Food is good always arriving to the table hot. Gets busy weekends and holidays.

Not a bad place but for me its missing something special despite its location alongside the marina. The food and drinks are decent but you have to order and pay by app and there is no table service.

Today. I've decided, reluctantly, to deduct a point for serving my breakfast on a cold plate. I don't eat slowly but it was cold by the time I got even partly through it.

The most memorable thing about our visit here was the rude member of staff who made at least three insolent remarks during our lunch.

Really lovely coffee shop with good selection of outdoor seating and cosy tables inside. Staff are very pleasant. We love locally so often come here for coffee but visited yesterday for lunch. We both have the club sandwich which was delicious and beautifully presented and good value for money. Staff were very efficient. Thanks Coffi Co!

Great location for coffees and snacks

Popped in for lunch and had the Coffi co beef burger and fries. At £15 I would say this was on the expensive side. The burger was ok. Not great, not terrible. It came with a pretty stingy helping of fries which didn’t taste of much and a small amount of slaw. So the food was ok, the view is nice but the table was really dirty, strewn with the remains of various previous meals. This really let down what was already a fairly average visit I’m sorry to say.

Review update: Sadly the last few times I've visited I've felt disappointed in the quality of the food, pricing which seems to have shot up, and the cleanliness of the place overall. We cleaned our own table today & it was very dirty. Shame as the location is great & staff are friendly but definitely slipping! Great coffee, food, location & venue! The truffle & parmesan chips are definitely worthy of a mention- just heavenly! What more could you ask for!

Had hair in my food (more than one). Told the staff which initially were very cooperative and made me a new one and also promised a refund. The poor customer service came when after a week I went back to ask why my refund was not received only to be told there was a staff miss-understanding and they supposedly refunded the wrong person (the friend I was with). When I explained that is not my fault I was told they cannot refund me because they already refunded someone else and I should get in touch with my friend to ask her for the money. That was extremely unprofessional and outrageous to me. Because although she is a friend, I absolutely don’t feel comfortable enough having to chase her for my money. That should not be something I waste my time doing because the caffee stuff made a mistake. I remember clearly asking a couple of times how do I know my refund will come through because I had no confirmation.(initial payment was through the app), and was told it’s all sorted. Honestly it’s not so much about the money but the audacity and the poor customer service. I won’t be returning.

After the apology from the coffeeshop I decided to give it another try. Unfortunately, it was big mistake and shocking experience! . one would be expect in a modern coffee shop to be able to have a hot drink, cake , etc. in peace as per his won rights as a paying costumer. especially when paying premium prices! I was shocked sitting down, using my laptop in peace, ordering and eating my cake on to be surprisingly told by the staff that I am not allowed to used a laptop!. There no signs or anything to indicated such as think. even the manager when questioned could not produce evidence of such a policy! Also, decline any refunds despite the inconvenience and being hustled! it seems they make policies on the go depending on their mood!

I have been to Coffi co before. but I have been in a long time so decided to give it a go. I can't believe how things deteriorated. went for a coffi, a light meal/ cakes and to as a break with my laptop to relax. only to be told by a very rude staff that I could use my own laptop in their coffee shop on weekends according to some policy made up out of thin air!!! told to leave else where I want to use my laptop although I didn't even get to touch my drink! What sort of 21st-century coffee does this!! In conclusion, it overpriced, poor-quality coffee, and rude and hostile staff. don't fall for their trap!! Absolutely ruined my day and may weekend! should have gone to my usual Starbucks!!

Varied menu, great views over the bay. We thought the food was a little pricy but its a lovely place.

Watch out - this company's prices are not what they seem. They charge a mandatory "service tax" of 7.5% on everything (as well as your VAT), even if you order a coffee at the bar. While both their menu and their receipts call it a tax, this is a misuse of the word making it sound like it's a government imposition. It is not a tax, it is an additional service fee that means their menu prices are understated - the sort of trick I would expect to be played on tourists in a city such as Paris or London - not surburban Cardiff.

Use to love coffi co. Always raved about it. Since covid the quality of food has dropped and the prices have gone up. Asked for buttermilk pancakes with the fruit + computer, no syrup. And added sausageS for £3. Food came and the pancakes were drizzled with syrup the sausage was chopped on top and the fruit compote was there but no fresh fruit Asked to have another as I didn’t want the syrup Came back a few minutes later and I had 3 pancakes and a sliced sausage on top NO FRUIT NO COMPOTE When you pay £3 for SAUSAGES surely you have paid for more than one otherwise it would say Sausage not Sausages. Years ago the syrup would be on the side if your plate if you asked to keep the syrup. Also if you advertising pancakes with fruit surely you are expected to have fruit on the plate

I've eaten lunch and breakfast here over the last month - both have been very good, staff have been helpful and friendly, I've had tasty food, not the cheapest but decent value for money with the location it's in, I've read some of the negative comments but this hasn't been my experience - I'll happily go back there again.

The chicken causer wrap was very average, such a small amount of chicken served with a tiny amount of warm coleslaw , for £8.75 needs to be better than that.

My favourite place for coffee in Cardiff. Good quality, service and very friendly staff. Not the cheapest.

Coffee/drinks (alcohol) and food for a great experience. They do like you to use the app to order and the plus side is it's the more you use the establishment the more benefits you are rewarded! An all around good experience! I can recommend 👌.

Popped in for breakfast with friends, I imagined I might be limited to tea and coffee while I watched them eat.....I am celiac and vegetarian. Sabrina was AMAZING, filled me with confidence that they could do something and went above and beyond to make sure I had something delicious. She was hospitality personified, perfectly professional and showed genuine passion for customers. I got a chance to thank the chefs as well before we left, the food was delicious.

Diabolical. They messed up our order and it took 35 minutes to bring out our cold drinks. Still waiting 46 minutes later for our one toasted tea cake. No apologies from the rude and surly staff. Will not come again.

This place is great fun. I stayed 5 nights in Cardiff, and we had breakfast here every morning. Very laid back and super-friendly. The scrambled eggs on sourdough toast are to die for, as is the veggie breakfast. Staff are oh-so pleasant. It doesn't look much from the outside, and the area is a bit dreary, but make the effort to find it - it's well worth it.

This really was my go to spot. Beautiful location, food was great. Staff are still great and efficient. However, I do not know what's happened on the last couple of months. Half the menu isn't available, kitchen is closing at 5:30 on a Saturday night!!! No coffee, No milkshakes, No smoothies.... I will be going elsewhere for a while until I hear it's back on track.

Visited on a busy weekend and it was lovely to sit outside with a great view. I couldn’t get the app working to order at the table but simple enough to order inside. Great coffee and friendly staff.

I can't understand why it's so difficult to get coffee in a coffee shop. I've gotten there multiple times just after 5 and then told that the coffee machine closes at 5. Very frustrating.

Nothing gluten free on menu as far as I can see vegan/veggie /dog friendly but they don't want coeliac! I did ask when they first opened and they said they would introduce gluten free, but hasn't happened

30 mins wait for food. One meal came out and an apology that the other meal wasn’t available. So I picked another that then turned up on a broken plate. Not great.

The staff here are lovely, but its shame the mandatory 7.5% service charge doesn’t even go to them! but to the greedy management which i’ve heard multiple bad things about before. The whole staff lineup has almost completely changed in the last few months because no one wants to work here. They are continuing to raise prices on their products while making the portions smaller. Me and several other regulars will not be coming here now. At least they got rid of the rude ginger manager who told a customer that he wasnt allowed to talk to staff because he wasnt spending enough money

A PERFECTLY GOOD PLACE...GONE BAD I visit this area for business regularly. This cafeteria used to be charming, well serviced and had good food and ambiance. This time around I was very disappointed ... what changed? 1) They used to have good internet, now the WiFi comes and goes 2) They lock the power sockets. Clients can't charge their phones in the premises 2) I lost my password to the app, and the recovery procedure doesn't work, so I'm forced to order from the web page, with all the long procedure to introduce my credit card details each time 3) 30% of the tables have a sign indicating that they can't be used until dinner time... no matter if all the other tables are busy 4) The place is understaffed. Only two people for all of us near lunch time 5) The service charge is mandatory. Granted, the employees do their best but... shouldn't I be able to decide if I want to give a tip or not? 6) Prices have gone up, portions have gone down As you can imagine, this is no longer my favorite place in the area...

Now adding 7.5% to every bill, this money is not shared with the staf. Just the owners finding another way of over charging.

Food and service was good. Its a great location with views over the river. Higene rating only 3 which is a little disappointing.

Still a lovely place to go (especially when it's sunny!), however, service is super slow - about 20 mins for 2 coffees and food pretty much follows the slowness. It is much more expensive lately, but it is the bay, so unsurprisingly, you always pay more.

A few hiccups as can happen in life, but it was delt with swiftly, with a smile and an apology! Great Great customer service. Great food. Will be back.

Sad to see the options reducing and becoming more basic but the prices seem to still be increasing. For that reason alone it will probably be my last visit. I’ll always support local businesses until they get greedy then I’ll go back to using whatever is convenient at the time. A lot of the big name places are now cheaper and offer the same quality and service. What made coffi co special and first choice they seem to have lost.

Only giving one star as couldn't give 0. Staff ignored us for over 10 minutes, 6 of them. Snuffed at us not knowing what drink we wanted despite there being no physical menu or signs of a menu then told not allowed to sit at any of the tables. rude and obnoxious start to finish.

A lovely place on the water, but costs are too much. Cost me £7 for four rounds of toast. I could of got myself 7 loafs of bread for that cost. Won't be stopping off again.

Mixed reviews I have to say I can understand the mixed reviews because when Coffi Co Bayscape get it right they are very good. No one can obviously fault the location, it’s great summer or winter. This isn’t a Michelin star restaurant it’s a coffee that also provides nice food and maybe some reviews should bear this in mind? I personally have never been able to fault the staff, they are always friendly even when they are very busy and yes sometimes orders take a bit longer and there could be the odd mistake, but this applies to many of the restaurants in Cardiff. My experience with the food has been good, I’ve had the fish and chips a few times always tasted fresh, I haven’t experienced the taste of old cooking oil. The WiFi situation is frustrating but you can step outside and order through your phone data? Yes it’s not ideal but it isn’t the end of the world. They are trying to free up tables in the morning, asking some people if they would mind leaving the larger tables for customers who want to eat breakfast, why not tackle the single table huggers who buy one cup of coffee, open their laptops and occupy a table for 6 for 4 hours?

I would give no stars if I could as we didn't get any food or drinks after 25 minutes of struggling to get the app to work. While we are not experts my daughter is and even she could not get it to accept card...

Nice food and drink with a good range of options. Menu is only available via web/app and I couldn’t use the app to order as I couldn’t remember my password (and I’m still waiting for my reset code 10 hours after requesting a password reset) and the website seemed a bit flakey when processing my payment but got there eventually.

The staff are friendly and efficient. The location is beautiful, by the river. Sit outside and catch the sun with coffee and cake. Mmmmm

No physical menus available which is a nightmare. As the mobile network signal is poor and the WiFi wasn't working. Informed member of staff and got a bemused grunt and nothing else. Eventually connected to the WiFi after 15 minutes trying. The food was OK, but lukewarm. Would return for a coffee as the views were lovely but wouldn't eat here again.
