I am so so picky about coffee, and this is one of my all time favorites…definitely the best coffee in Richmond by FAR imo. Coffee is just deep and rich and so good! Atmosphere is clean and bright and staff is friendly and talented. We keep coming back !

I order pickup from Blanchard's pretty much M-F. Consistently great coffee in a timely manner and excellent customer service. They’re also one of the only coffee shops in Richmond that doesn’t charge additional money for non-dairy milk options, I’m assuming it’s just reflected in their overall prices, which I adore. Highly recommended from a vanilla latte lover.

This coffee shop is all style no substance. I ordered a double shot espresso which came back incredibly sour - it was tough to get down. Please guys, feel free to hire all the hipsters you want, just ask them to pay attention when you're explaining the brew.

I gladly give Blachards and its staff 5 stars, but I give its customers 2.5. Do better Richmond... try not to have your 12 person meetings in a cute, grab-in go/ couple setting. There's just enough seating for people to screen their Tinder dates or wait on their oil changes. Show some respect

Sadly, not going back. Iced drinks loaded with too much ice. Hot drinks sometimes served lukewarm. No prices marked on the bagged coffee beans. When it's good it's good, but we've had too many inconsistent experiences recently

Definitely like this spot. This location is beautiful, the shop is clean and tidy, but I would like them offer another alternative milks no just oats, Almond, hemp will be wonderful.

Their basics are very good but if you ask for anything speciality, it’s very underwhelming and they’re essentially ripping you off 🥴

Hands down, Alissa made the best oat milk cappuccino ever with Blanchard’s single origin. Love everything about Blanchard’s coffee and their cafes. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff infusing lots of love and soul into the morning ritual of starting the day.

Trendy, bright, and friendly staff combine with a good location to make this Blanchard’s a favorite spot. The lighting and materials give the inside space a warm and inviting glow while the coffee keeps you around.

I love this place and the staff is always delightful. Of course, the coffee is great, but they’ve got these blueberry muffins and cranberry muffins that are out of this world. Perfect with a cup of coffee!

Definitely love this spot, grab a bag of coffee or two, all of their beans have been top notch. This location is absolutely beautiful, the shop is very clean and tidy, the staff is friendly and the service was very quick. Also seems to been a good place to hang out or study, but it was pretty busy, even on a Sunday!

I have a lovely experience every time :) Staff members are all friendly and courteous and I appreciate that they reserve the larger tables for groups of 2+! I’ve only ever sat in alone, but the bar area is super cute, as is the overall atmosphere of the shop. I also love to get fresh beans from here and they’ve got a variety for you to choose from. Their seasonal drinks are fun and that strawberry oat latte has a chokehold on me because it’s just so yummy!!

I really hate giving Blanchards one star because the coffee is amazing and lives up to specialty standards. But the customer service is just bad. You walk in - to any of the three locations - and are immediately greeted with a glum, what can I get you, no matter what day and location. Rather than a hi how are you? What can I get you? When you ask questions such as what they have on espresso and such it’s quickly answered and dismissed rather than seen as a point of conversation. It’s almost like any point of contact with the customer is seen as a chore instead of a privelege. Not to mention, their sign that you cannot take pictures if there’s others in it is so small and Ill-placed that anyone is going to miss it. And why would you not take pictures of the beautiful space. But if you do, you’ll be asked - aggressively- to not take pictures and to see their policy. Which I’ve spoken with dozens and dozens of people who all disagree and find it pointless. It’s impossible to take pictures of a space without people in it. And bothering them for “permission” is interrupting their workflow. All around it’s a great space but the service is below subpar. For specialty coffee we all know connection is the first step and Blanchards starkly misses that unfortunately. Which drastically affects drink quality more than we think. I revisit for the quality of coffee but always end up regretting it due to not feeling welcome even when we give a warm smile and welcome to the baristas.

I only drink hot coffee that’s full of sweeteners and other fun things (basically breakfast dessert drink). HOWEVER at Blanchards I’m happy to get a regular ice latte because it’s JUST THAT GOOD. Whenever I go on a work day, I tell my coworkers “I went out of the way for the good coffee” instead of my usual drive thru options.

Good coffee and service in a bright space convenient to GRTC Pulse. I love starting my day here. Bags of coffee beans are available for purchase.

Blanchard's Coffee on Broad Street has truly mastered the art and science of coffee. Every visit is a delightful coffee journey. Their selection of single-origin beans is exceptional, and I never miss an opportunity to take home a bag, freshly roasted and bursting with unique flavors. The espresso service deserves special mention. Not only is the quality consistently top-notch, but the thoughtful addition of mineral water showcases their dedication to the true coffee experience. It's these nuances that elevate Blanchard's above the rest. And while I'm personally drawn to the espresso, my significant other swears by their cold brew. Smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed, it's her go-to pick-me-up on our visits. For anyone who truly values their coffee, Blanchard's Coffee on Broad Street is a beacon of excellence. Their passion for the bean and dedication to their craft shine through in every cup. Highly recommended!

Coffee was amazing but my Verizon hotspot doesn’t work well here, so I had to take a star off ): Lots of people working solo. Otherwise perfect. Their house wifi is ok so far, but you gotta ask the barista for the PW. Edit: I changed to 5 stars cause I literally can’t stop thinking about their vanilla latte, weeks after first trying it. Who cares about wifi? Not me.

It seems like a cool cafe but not much seating and the cashier became really rude when I hit no tip. It’s not a restaurant I shouldn’t be obligated to tip you 🙄

Highest quality coffee in Richmond! We are avid coffee drinkers and we love a smooth decadent cup of coffee. It’s not burnt, overly roasted coffee like most other coffee shops. Modern, clean, aesthetic inside. Reminds me of The Quirk hotels. Their focus is on high quality coffee so the food options are limited. Also great if you are non-dairy - it’s the only oat milk cappuccino/ latte that I’ve ever actually enjoyed! They also have a lot of non-dairy little pastries and yogurt and such. Great service too! I never wait more than 5 minutes. Their online ordering system actually works too (unlike many other small business). Overall - highest quality coffee. I can’t drink anywhere else now. It’s ruined me.

Pretty over priced for what the coffee is. Have had a couple drinks from there now, all I'd consider pretty weak at best. For $7 a latte it's really gotta be pretty much perfect in my opinion, and this isn't close.

Had an excellent oat milk latte and I enjoyed a tasty baked good. Service staff was fast and courteous. Atmosphere is simple and inviting with adequate space for computer/phone work, free wifi and a "bottomless" cup of coffee.

It’s important for the public to know that this is not bitter, sour coffee like Lamplighter. This is smooth, mellow coffee. It’s about $7 a latte & their sizes are small. Not recommended if you’re a true caffeine addict. A cute choice to sample seasonal drinks and feel uncannily like you’re in a Starbucks if you love Starbucks but don’t want to support them

Apparently they’ve taped off EVERY outlet and will kick you out if you use one. I got scolded by an employee saying this is not a library it’s a coffee shop… I usually love coming here to study but this experience was a huge turn off. What do you think? Is this acceptable?

I love this coffee so much. Their special drinks are fantastic and when you get there early it's a great place to work remotely! I consistently do not like their pastries though. But hey, it's a coffee shop not a pastry shop!

One of the best lattes I've ever had! I tried the vanilla one (hot). Best coffee in Richmond and they have huge bags of premade lattes and coffee beans. Nowhere to sit, but I took mine to-go.

Their green tea latte was good, a shame that’s not what I ordered… wish I would have taken a sip before I was back on the road.

I’m lucky to have this great coffee shop so close to home. I think their coffee is some of the best in town. They are very busy pretty often but still quick and friendly.

Cool local coffee chain. This location is an old service station but very modern looking inside. Sells beans, pre made iced coffee jugs and beer to go, as well as makes a variety of hot and cold coffee drinks. Sells cookies and small pastries as well.

The barista somehow knew I was having a tough day and without hesitation showed me generosity and genuine kindness . I left with a great cup of coffee in hand and a new outlook on the day.

Good coffee, but on the expensive side

Blanchard’s is quite literally my favorite coffee shop. I live in Florida, however, anytime I’m visiting my parents I walk to Blanchard’s at least once daily 😅. This was my first time actually staying inside to work, since prior to this visit, they only had the pick-up window open. I had the holiday mocha and holy smokes that was so good I went back for another one the day after :). gorgeous place, lots of seating space, friendly staff & delicious coffee! Can’t have an RVA trip without Blanchard’s.

The espresso is rich and creamy… The vibe feels like a dystopian novel’s museum, but in a good way.

The iced coffee is the smoothest coffee I've ever had

We’ve been here twice and have a few issues… it’s hard to hear your order. There’s few noise dampeners so the acoustics can get quite loud which absolutely blocks out the order calling. The orders also take a bit of time to complete. I ordered a latte and waited almost 20 minutes for it. And the waiting area for the coffee is tight. You constantly feel like you’re in the way because the waiting area is also the walkthrough to get into the seating area. On top of this, their options are limited for coffee. Specifically the lack of nitro cold brew is noticeable.

I recently visited Blanchard's, a coffee shop with a sleek modern interior. The atmosphere of the shop is welcoming and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. But the real highlight of my visit was the cappuccino. It was hands down the best cappuccino that I've ever had. The froth was creamy and the coffee itself was rich and flavorful. I was truly impressed. However, I would not recommend Blanchard's if you're looking for food. The shop seems to be more focused on beverages and does not have much of a food selection. So if you're in the mood for a quick bite to eat, you may want to look elsewhere. Overall, I was very pleased with my experience at Blanchard's and would highly recommend it to anyone in search of a great cup of coffee.

I have been a big fan of Blanchard's coffee for more than 5 year. They have become my favorite roaster. Their new cafe perfectly matches their commitment to amazing coffee with a clean aesthetic. Their coffee is amazing. You must come and enjoy a cup.

Has different kinds of coffee. It is a nice hangout

Modernist coffee shop heavy on wood to create the atmosphere. There are some tables for small groups and also high top tables. Not a lot of personalization to the decor but it is comfortable enough. But what I really wish is that there were some outdoor tables.

Blanchard’s coffee lived up to the hype! We visited from out of town, and we stopped by twice. Our first trip to the cafe, we ordered a bottomless drip coffee, a cappuccino with oat milk and a chocolate chip cookie to stay and sit. We enjoyed a window seat with our young child, who enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and booth seating. We were there on a Friday morning, so I noticed a lot of people working remotely from the shop. We visited again on our way out of town, and enjoyed our same coffee order again with a delicious muffin. 10/10 would recommend.

Stopped in for an espresso, two beans were available. Perfectly brewed, served with seltzer which was different. Good wifi, and space to work, a bit busy so no quiet.

Baristas in Saturday morning rush took time to make sure my so espresso was top notch. Much appreciated!

The coffee was good if not a little too sweet, but the extremely "clean" and high class aesthetic of the place wasn't my vibe. Now if you're into that, this is your place. I felt like I was too dirty to be in there, and felt out of place in my street wear. I also had to lock my bike up against the gate out front which felt awkward. Maybe they had bike racks on the side but I didn't see any.

Always great great coffee! This place has a great vibe for sure. We use them every week at church so we buy lots of bags and it’s always a hit! It can be busy if you’re wanting a seat come at some off peak times. Parking lot and always some street parking close by.

Great coffee shop in Scott’s! I wish I drank coffee more or it would be apart of my daily routine. Ambience is always calm and welcoming. Staff are always patient with my many questions and readily offering their go tos and recommendations !

Really unfortunate experience here. There are no sandwiches as advertised in the photos for the shop. That’s not really a problem. However, “Hank” was shockingly dismissive and condescending when I pointed out that we had stopped for the paninis we saw advertised on the Google page for the business. Conversely, the Chai Tea latte, made by “EM”, was really good. It’s sad that a distinct lack of customer care and service training made this a bad experience at a place that looks like it could be so good. Taking care of your customers really makes or breaks an entire experience…

Boutique coffee shop offering a small menu of finely crafted drinks. Atmosphere is pretty unique inside with a kind of cave-like decor almost, very light, open, and modern. Coffee was very good and prices were appropriate for a higher quality beverage. They have bigger bagged coffee you can take home and beans for sale as well. Staff was friendly and service quick.

Love Blanchards. I am a daily regular at Golf Park in a lynchburg and they solely partner with Blanchards. I didn’t get the opportunity to go in the shop because of Covid but the baristas at the window were so nice! Very quick service.

Great expresso and mocha. Expensive. Not much to eat (cookie and muffin). Few seating places mostly took by students. Beautiful style. Not for families with toddlers that wants to eat something more nutritious.

Inside has a great ambiance and simple, cozy design. Perfect place to sit with friends, relax, or get a little bit of work done. We even say people spending some time playing cards! The cappuccino was a bit heavy but the flavor was great. The carry out latte-in-a-bag is delicious and perfect for a small group of friends to enjoy at home. If you’re looking to save time in the morning, the latte-in-a-bag is enough for one person for a whole week!

I’m so disappointed in my first experience at Blanchard’s on Broad Street. I pulled up and attempted to park in the the handicapped parking space with my handicapped sticker and realized that a car with people congregated around it was parked in the van accessible Marked off space next to the handicapped space. I didn’t need the van accessibility but very well could have as a handicapped user. I mentioned to the people around the car that that was an unusual usage of a handicapped space and they said they figured I would say that. I was confused as to why they would think I would say that - but left it at that. I went in to order my coffee and realized I was disturbed by their insensitivity to the usage of handicap spaces. I have no idea if they were patrons misusing the handicapped space or if they were owners of the establishment misusing the handicapped space. Either way, I wasn’t impressed. So, I didn’t order a coffee and will probably not go back - have a bad taste in my mouth about Blanchard’s. I live down the street and love to support my local businesses but not ones who are insensitivity to handicapped persons’ needs. Very bad culture to portray to potential patrons.

I used to get coffee here multiple times a week until I used the bathroom on a walk one day and the lady working said bathrooms are for customers only. No signage saying that and just cause I wasn’t a customer then doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be at another time…

Had the BEST tea latte here with oat milk (winter fog is what it's called I believe). It was a chilly day and it totally hit the spot. The staff was attentive and quick. Never disappointed.

Blanchard's is my favorite local and regional coffee shop for that matter. All of their lattes have house made syrup, are always balanced and never too sweet. I keep stock of Blanchard's at home as well. Basecamp, RVA, and Richmond blend are my top three. Rosedale is also great for cold brew when they have it. You can find the bagged coffee at Perk Bon Air, Elwood's, Kroger and Whole Foods. This location is definitely bare bones coffee shop so set your expectations accordingly. They do one thing and do it very well so I can't argue with that.
