Food was delicious, perfectly sized portions. Tasted fresh and authentic, no unessacary MSG or seasoning. Fantastic friendly service, beautiful authentic decor and menus.

Very welcoming and clean restaurant with a varied menu. We visited for a friends birthday and were not disappointed. The meals came out in a timely manner and everyone in our party said how much they enjoyed the food. Looking forward to our next visit.

A beautiful meal tonight. We had the set menu B and this provided us with more than enough food and some great choices. The food was piping hot and was delivered with a smile from the waitress Alicia. Great customer service and excellent value for money.

Had a great dinner with my husband. Definitely felt really safe in terms of Covis as they are super careful about everything. The food was amazing. Had half duck pancakes as a starter which was delicious. Duck with Honey and plum sauce was amazing! Jungle curry was very hot and very nice. Definitely we’ll be back and recommend anyone lives around.

We had a wonderful evening. I felt so safe as the COVID policies are very well thought through. The food was great and such good value. Wish I could pick this up and put it in my village!

We rang and ordered food from their extensive take away menu on their website. We have eaten in restaurant on many occasions and it's always been lovely. Considering this place does not normally do take away, the standard of food was amazing. Plentiful, tasty & hot and all labelled and packaged beautifully with fresh herbs separate. Social distancing measures all in place. The Malaysian lamb pancakes are a real treat. We'll defo be ordering again.

A lovely family run business that want to make your experience perfect! I’ve been a few times with my family and the food is amazing. If you’d never tried Thai before this is the best place to try it because of their 4 course set menu where you can try a range of dishes. Having a gluten intolerance it can be hard to find places to eat that cater for you but this restaurant does. They make everything fresh so they can make the food without wheat flour and they will give you lettuce instead of pancake for your duck wraps. If you’ve not been you must try Coconut garden, there’s something for everyone!

It was both my daughters and husband’s birthday celebrations. Food as always was excellent and they got a birthday cocktail on the house. Highly recommended this little restaurant, but you will need to book in advance 😀.

We have just enjoyed a lovely meal at Coconut Garden. The food is amazing and service attentive. We were made to feel like part of the family and welcomed by Lily and the gang. We had the set meal which is really good value for money; under £20 for four courses of authentic Thai dishes, with an additional dish just for being a table of five. We've been meaning to return for ages having visited over a year ago. We really should have come back sooner.Everything was spot on, from booking the table through to leaving the restaurant nothing was too much trouble.The food was excellent, we had 4 set menus and added 3 more dishes because we're greedy little pigs but they really aren't needed. The jungle curry and the Thai prawn salad are both worth a try and they will also open your sinuses as there was no holding the heat.Try for yourselves, hidden gem this one.

Just love CG, not just because the food is exceptional, it’s not just the authenticity of the interior, what makes this the amazing place it is, simply the welcome, Ken & Lilly and of course the girls are superb hosts.

The owner who seemed in charge was rude came across as hostile and like an old head mistress! Was ordering us around and we were unable to order starters even though we were hungry because we had to order the whole meal at the same time. Also told they dont have chilli oil which seemed strange for a thai restaurant. Portions were tiny and we were still hungry after starters and main meal. My 6 year old wanted more food so we tried to order more dishes but were told the owner would need to check if this was possible! We got a kebab and chips after as we were all hungry. What a disappointment as this was a celebratory meal. This is the worst restaurant I have been to in 20 years! If you want thai food locally and a better service go to lumpini thai for sure!

We booked a meal for 10.15pm but the theatre show over run. We finally arrived just after 10.30. We had pre ordered due to the size of our table. I have to say the food was excellent as was the service. I’m looking forward to returning again soon. Many thanks.

I went in to the restaurant last night to order a takeaway, we were celebrating. I was told they don't offer a takeaway service anymore because people were phoning orders through and not collecting which was obviously costing them. Fair enough.I was standing there with a £60.00 order and a card to pay for it, the restaurant not busy. The girl picked up the phone held it to her stomach, paced up and down and asked my name, which I gave.She paced some more, let me stand there wondering what on earth was going on then repeated that they don't offer takeaway anymore.I admit I was not happy, but left the restaurant did a Google search and found a lovely new Thai called Roymai only two minutes down the road.I want to thank CG for pointing me in their direction, the food was outstanding and is also a restaurant as well as takeaway so we will be dining there in future.It's great that CG's business is booming to such an extent that they can turn away custom and give it to other local businesses. Thank you Roymai for saving the day, we are very grateful, loved your food and will be back soon for takeaway and to eat at the restaurant.

My wife and I are avid lovers of Thai food, we were recommended to Coconut Garden and it’s th3 first Thai in Dunstable. It was amazing from start to finish, they had a special on giant queen prawns imported from Chittagong in Thailand, wow amazing, Jasmin rice, Tom yum soup, chilli beef, Singapore ha beer, lovely family owned restaurant, cozy and authentic. Very reasonable pricing, attentive staff a sheer delight

Suggest you ignore the previous "disappointed" review and look at the others. We ate here on 9/3/2019. The meal was excellent, the quantities large, the service superb, the price competitive. A decent bottle of Pinot Noir cost just £16!

As a couple we really enjoy Thai food. Having not had any for a while we where througly excited for a takeaway from coconut garden, unfortunately what we received was well below expectations.

They created a mock duck which dried bean curd. Amazing. Most things on the menu can be made Vegan, with either tofu, wheat gluten, or veg. And the staff are fun and lovely. Perfect evening

Visited this place just prior to New Year's Eve 2018 for a friend's birthday.

The service was good, the lady who served us was friendly, well spoken and a great host. She was also good at recommending dishes and ensuring that we did not order food that wouldn’t go well together.

Traditional Thai restaurant which offered authentic dishes of great quality at very reasonable price! Staff were very welcoming and food was delicious (watch out for the spice!). Would highly recommend to all, and was a lovely treat for us passing through Dunstable.

The quality of the food is absolutely fantastic! This small family restaurant is one of the best meals out you can have in Dunstable and worth the money. If you’re unfamiliar with Thai or Malaysian cuisine, they are more than happy to help find something on the menu that you’ll enjoy.

Went to the cocunut garden last night the 3rd visit on the 2 years I've lived in Houghton regis. Family run to the highest standard.my self and my better half had the most authentic delicious Thai food .I've been to Thailand so no the score.every couurse is a treat and to be honest a lot better than going to Thailand. The owner and her girls are just amaze balls they make your dinning experience fantastic, and to my surprise they have a superb cafe in dunstable town centre that do the most amazing bubble waffle with ice cream that myself and if a share with the kids ,they love.hats off to the lady who is smashing both markets will definitely recommend and make sure you book, a lot of repeat customers so getting a table can be hard on any day of the week.best thai food this side of pataya.you will not be disappointed

I visited this place over the weekend and can't recommend it highly enough. Fantastic restaurant, amazing food, staff can't do enough for you - so attentive. Guaranteed to go home happy from here! Try their speciality, Duck waffles - absolutely awesome! Dont forget, duck waffles, I've never seen them anywhere else.

The food is amazing and there is a lot of choice. Everything was well cooked and full of flavour. Staff are friendly and attentive.

We chose this restaurant, as it has amazing reviews and rightly so - this was fantastic food and although we will not be visiting Dunstable again, we only wish that they could open a branch in Orpington where we live.

Visited this restaurant with our neighbours and were made very welcome in this friendly, relaxed atmosphere. It was our first visit so we selected a fixed menu with a wide selection. The food was good, service was prompt and very polite.

Came for dinner on Saturday night as a group of 4. Lovely friendly welcome and had a nice warm seat next to a heater (which was good for my Mum!). My Mum is Malaysian and we'd chosen here for her so she could sample some tastes from home. We had a good time and ordered a-la-carte. The highlight was the nasi-goreng with fried egg - absolutely delicious! The only reasons for not giving 5 stars were quite small but we had to wait a bit of time when the starters arrived for one of them when the others were there and similarly with the mains - everything arrived except one dish which took a few more minutes to appear. Service was pretty good overall given it was quite busy. We'd definitely like to return one day!

Called up to check they were doing a take away service due to it being New Years Eve (although early). Was told yes they were. Ring back no more than 5 minutes later to place said order only to be told no take aways now. Won't be using you again.

Friendliest restaurant team i've ever come across, always welcoming and always great from start to end. The lady who serves your food and drink is so knowledgeable, she can really knows what you will like from speaking to her for a little bit. Best place to try something new, the food is always perfect. Once I went with my friend who is vegetarian and very fussy when it come to spicy food, so they made her up something outside of the menu! Very accommodating, always a wonderful experience.

Had seen this advertised on trip advisor as we fanced a thia meal and I always check the reviews well wasn't disappointed can highly recommended this the lamb was fantastic never had anything like it we had the set menu very good value 10 out of 10 staff very friendly and serves excellent

Extremely tasty menu all around, with superb flavors in all dishes. Staff very friendly, and prices quite reasonable considering you eat almost like royalty. Nepalese/Indian/Himalayan style cuisine well worth the visit!

It's another little gem in Dunstable. The choice of food was really good. And the prices very reasonable. We ended up having 3 courses for about £20. Portion sizes were really good too and so was the service.I would especially recommend it to vegans and vegetarians as there was a lot of dishes on the menu and staff are actually very knowledgeable of those lifestyles. Very pleasant evening. I will be coming back.

First time of eating at this restaurant and I cant recommend it enough! It's a small place and it gets booked up quickly however worth the wait. We had one of the set menus and the staff were really friendly and helping recommend items. The food was absolutely amazing and so much flavour! The prices were brilliant! The drinks menu was good too and not overly expensive! Would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for excellent food!

Fantastic venue, great welcoming staff. Lill and her family give you a warm welcome and are very accommodating. Nothing is too much for these fantastic hosts. Service was fantastic and I could not fault it. There is something for everyone on the menu and it tasted fantastic.

Went to this restaurant tonight with some colleagues from work. It was my first visit but won't be the last. From the moment we walked in we were made very welcome. Food was great and the staff very friendly.I was only kidding about the red curry not being spicy, it was terrific.

Delightfully accommodating in fitting in a table of four after a show at The Grove theatre.From the moment we walked in until the moment we left we were cosseted with attention and great food. Try the set menu and add at your peril as there is loads of food.The young lady that waited our table was a delight.Please go try for yourselves.

The food was fantastic, the service was friendly, and so accommodating. We had a couple of people with certain dietary requirements, so thought we would order the set menu, and an extra couple of dishes to make sure there would be plenty for them to eat. The waitress asked if we were sure as that would be a lot of food. When we explained that we wanted our friends to have extra as they couldn't eat all the dishes in the set menu, they immediately offered to do the set menu for us all, with separate dishes to accommodate our friends dietary requirements so we didn't have to order extra. The food that turned up was lovely. The restaurant is cosy and inviting and the staff made us feel so welcome. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!

I honestly don't know what everyone raves about. The sauce in my pad thai was non existent so it had no taste whatsoever & the chicken was dry & fatty/gristley! My fella had something which was meant to have squid in it but there was no squid in it at all! I was really looking forward to having a meal from here considering the reviews but I won't go again! I have also been annoyed in the past as I've never known so many stipulations for a takeaway, it must or must not be a certain time to collect & if they say it'll be ready in 15 minutes & you say "I'll be there in about 25-30 minutes" because you have to collect it as they don't deliver, they say "no, we can't do that".....???!!!???!! What?!?!? Yeah, you won't catch me there again!

The atmosphere here is so amazing and welcoming and the food is of the most stunning quality. Absolutely delicious. Lily is very warming and great fun and of the many times I have eaten here I have never felt rushed out or had one bad experience.

Despite advertising being part of tastecard we were clearly not welcome told you can have one cheapest dish free said they didn't want to be part of tastecard.. then don't waste people's time RUDE.

My wife and I went there on Thursday. It was a quiet night but very cosy. The food was excellent and the girl serving us was very friendly and we had a nice chat.All in all,very happy and we will definitely go back.

Had a great second visit to Coconut Garden tonight. The staff were very attentive towards us with both good service and friendly chit-chat. The Pad Thai was delicious and my husband enjoyed the squid and his Durian rice pudding dessert was silky smooth and an interesting addition to an already very varied menu. A well priced and lovely experience.

Having lived in Dunstable for many years we finally decided to try Coconut Garden. We visited for my fiancés birthday, the food was amazing and service second to none. The manager even surprised my fiancé with 'Chicken Rice' for his birthday, a dish which he had missed from spending some time in Singapore. A truly memorable meal and will definitely be returning.

We visited on the grand re-opening following the restaurant's refurbishment and it looks bright and fresh. The food was as delicious, fresh and well presented as it always is (sizzling prawns or crispy lamb among our favourites) and the service friendly and attentive. If unsure about any of the menu items just ask and they will be explained to you, you can also ask for recommendations as to what dishes go together. Items have a handy chilli icon next to them indicating how hot they are (there are plenty of mild dishes too). There is a good cocktail and wine list. This is a family run restaurant and they take great pride in their food. There is a free car park about a 5 minute walk away. We have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone who appreciates good food at a reasonable price.

Came here with my son and his girlfriend (12/8/16) glad we arrived early as seated at the window table. The owner understands our sense of humour, and is quick with her witty remarks. Food is variable, something for all. If you really want hot-go jungle, although other dishes with plenty of spice and heat. This small family run business is reasonably priced. For those who are bit daring, as myself, try the durian fruit, once passed the smell, and those around you wanting to move-yum or yuk not quite sure which!!!!!!! Yes I would return, but tables a little cramped, window table a definite reserve job.

Visiting family locally (for a wedding) and treated to a meal here for my birthday without our children. Food beautiful, very attentive friendly staff.This is a regular haunt for my younger brother who lives nearby.My older brother and his wife dined here a few nights before and she is Malaysian (they live in Singapore) She thought the food was extremely authentic.Overheard the owner telling some regulars that they are closing for a few weeks to renovate, I guess to make the interior to more modern. Prices extremely reasonable, comparing to similar in Scotland.look forward to going back next time I'm in Dunstable

Fantastic food, great service BUT not very nice atmosphere. Owner (I think) shouting at waitress during service made our evening a bit unpleasant. A bit expensive for what you get...but food was delicious! We may give another chance.

Just moved to the area and delighted to have found this little gem in Dunstable. Food was incredible tasty and super choice on main menu or you can have a set menu which is very good value. Service was excellent very attentive and informative and we will definitely be going back as had a lovely evening.

Feeling hungry and the need for something tasty, we tried this little gem. This was after researching several hopefuls which turned out to have closed down. Dunstable is a little sad these days and this restaurant was at the least promising end of town. We are so glad we made the walk. We were welcomed by a broad smile, nay grin, by a lovely young lady in Oriental clothing. We chatted and learned a little of her history.i.e she came from Malaysia some 10 years ago. The interior was tastefully decorated. The menu lists Malaysian and Thai dishes with a good choice of drinks. We chose a starter of Prawns in filou pastry. This dish we shared and was just enough to tickle the tastebuds. I chose a lamb Penang curry and my wife a beef Rendang curry. We accompanied these with the most amazing coconut rice. I washed mine down with a Singha beer. We chose not to have a dessert or coffee as we had to get home to the Midlands. The Coconut Garden was starting to fill up as we left with local residents who we learned returned time and time again. As we would!! We walked away with a bill for just£24 and a smile on our faces. Yum.

This is an excellent Asian restaurant with a fantastic choice of food coupled with excellent service.I would strongly advise booking ahead as it is very popular

Just been for my wife's birthday meal with 10 friends. Mostly Malaysian food which is a bit more spicy than Chinese. It's become a regular haunt for us over many years, partly because of the really tasty food and partly because the staff (including owners) are so very accommodating and friendly. Even when you're ordering dishes to be shared between the group, they're more than happy to adapt them to suit various allergies or provide individual portions where needed. We're sometimes quite lazy and choose dishes according to what's recommended rather than going to the effort of reading the menu. The recommendations come with a few questions about what you generally like so they're tailored to suit you, not some generic answer. Try the lamb chops if you like any lamb and a bit of spice. Try the jungle curry if you like really hot stuff (more than I can handle). Coconut garden special is a mildly spicy chicken dish which suits most people but do ask about any dish that appeals and you'll get sound advice from the staff about it. Worth booking if it's a party of 6 or more or if it's a Friday or Saturday evening. Enjoy! We do!

My favourite restaurant in Dunstable. Always a warm welcome in this family run restaurant, food and service are excellent. The menu is extensive and it's all delicious!! Service is attentive whether you visit as part of a small or large group. I love it here.

A small venue with a big heart. The food was outstanding, lovely combinations of flavours and spices. Everyone at the table had their own favourite. The starters were extra special with "hairy" prawns and soft shell crab and a special Ken created which Lilly called "leftovers"! Mains were delicious - the fish dish was superb!If you want to experience some outstanding food - best book!

We visited for s birthday with one of the party being a vegetarian, nothing was too much trouble the food was delicious and the service was exceptional as always.

Food is what you come to a restraunt for, and that is why I would come here. It was tasty, interesting and tasted home prepared. A lot of Thai restraunt taste like they serve food from a bottle, this tasted like it was made with care. Decoration was a little tired and table cloth had a hole in it but just come for the food.

Generally not a massive fan of Thai food, but this place converted me! Excellent food and superb value, with a wonderful atmosphere that only a family-run business can provide!

My partner and I came for an early Valentine's meal and loved it. This was our third or fourth visit and, though Dunstable has some other brilliant places to eat, Coconut Garden has become our favourite local restaurant. The set menu is fantastic value, the food (particularly the crispy duck course and the lamb that came as one of the mains) was delicious and you get so much food for the price - we were absolutely stuffed by the time we left! Drinks are good value too.The service is always excellent too, the lady who runs it in particular is always very friendly and makes time to chat and ensure that everything was okay with the meal. I work in London and often eat out at high end restaurants where the prices are double that at Coconut Garden but the food is nowhere near as good. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Great authentic Thai food served in a small, but very busy restaurant. The service is generally good and friendly. I could not believe how little the bill was after the quality of the food. Definitely the best Thai/Chinese cuisine in the area by a long way.Very busy on Friday and Saturday, so best to book a table!
