Came in for a few cocktails, Darryl the barman was so much more than accommodating, he not only went above and beyond he also made cocktails that weren't on the menu.... he was an absolute pleasure and will def be back in again as a result of this xxx

We have eaten here several times (yesterday was the most recent). It has never been cold. It is welcoming with friendly efficient staff and serves food made from high quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. Everything is consistent. Quantities are good and the 'specials' are particularly good value (the ordinary menu is not expensive). There is no pretension. Minor changes to the menu are made without fuss. Highly recommended.

Fairly formal we were in the area around midday and dropped in on impulse. The level of service is good and food excellent, prices fair. We are all vegetarians, and the veggie curry was really tasty. We also asked for quite a few changes, which were not on the menu. All came exactly as we requested :)

My husband and I called into Cobbles this afternoon for our tea. We both had steak, and we both really enjoyed it. Steak was very tasty. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back soon.

Staying in the canal court hotel and this bar was recommended, had a great laugh at the karaoke night! (Most of them hadn’t got a note in their head but that just made it a funnier night) delighted to see they sell sutter home rose as it’s the only one I like. doormen aren’t the friendliest but overall a great night

I have ate in cobbles a good few times now, and the food is always delicious. The prices are very reasonable for a city & the staff are always friendly and helpful. They also do loyalty cards for the food which I think is a great idea. Would recommend to anyone in the Newry area to go for a meal!

The doormen need to learn how to speak to paying customers. Especially the big foreign lad. An absolute disgrace the way he speaks to people.

I was searching for a great place to eat near the bus terminal and Cobbles was the best place to go. Fast service, friendly staff and food is great (I ordered their special: roast beef...though veggies could be better). Price is very reasonable too.

Absolutely loved this place. Both myself and my boyfriend got the curry and it was absolutely gorgeous. Along with the food being splendid, so was the staff and the atmosphere in the location. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Would go as far as saying it was the best curry I have tried. Can’t wait to return.

Lovely restaurant, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. We had a roast beef & turkey dinner which was delicious and very filling. My granddaughter had a kids meal which was great as well. We will be back

I was sitting outside this pub place and pondering lunch, as I often do. I can ponder lunch just after breakfast too. Even sitting outside I didn’t think of it as a dine - in venue. Then I noticed a poster in the window saying toastie, or wrap or sandwich with soup or tea and coffee. All for the princely sum of £5.95.

The food in Cobbles is very good, varied and well presented. It is certainly above the expected standard of bar food.

My sister booked here for her son's confirmation and from start to finish it was a treat . Starter , main and dessert were faultless , both Glenn and Yvonne couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble, they went above and beyond and even provided extra sides, had all the time in the world and patience of saints for the kids and ordering then changing their order then going back to the first order. Really can't compliment them enough and to top it all off when the bill came out my sister couldn't believe it , it was so reasonable what it cost to feed 12 of us. Had lunch in this lovely friendly little bar today. As we were complete strangers to Newry we definitely hit lucky. Everyone was so friendly and approachable. We had my 16 month old granddaughter with us and the staff were so accommodating, bringing her food first so she ate and then we were able to enjoy ours.

We were there Tues 6.00, surprised at how many people were there. The girl came to us, asked if we would be eating, gave us menus, and as we weren't drinking, brought us a bottle of water. We were given plenty of time to order, cod and chips, and the prawn and crab salad. A group of young dancers and parents came in, one of the girls ( 12-14) ordered a burger. I've seen many a burger, but not like this. She and her friends all had their phones out to take a photo. The Cobbles will now be known in Ballymena, (where the group were from). Our meals were 100%, and it's nice to know that due to the Cobbles, Newry will be on their list of places to go.

Had the roast special and a fish n chip here recently. The place itself is very clean and modern. Very enjoyable place to be with quality staff. Roast special was perfect. Fish and chips was ok. Would call again

Cobbles is just that place in newry that is good for everything. Food wise - it has breakfast lunch and dinner and the food is very good and reasonably priced. A quiet pint? you got it. Live music? there you go. A disco? no problem. No matter who you are cobbles has something for you. With delicious cocktails at an unbeatable deal of 3 for £12 at an added bonus.

Asked for a mojito and was waiting twenty minutes for it as literally only one member of staff knew how to make it, such a disgrace, standing at the bar the whole time and only told my drink was on the way after paying for it fifteen minutes earlier, train your staff for god's sake

Had some brilliant date nights here fabulous cocktails and great music bar staff are very good super busy spot but they always have the craic with you. Toilets are always clean. Food is good.

Spent an evening with great company. We went to cobbles for drinks. Nearing the end of the evening, we ordered 3 drinks and went to our table. We had barely taken 2 drinks each and were approached to leave. We requested time to finish the drinks which they had freely served us with. On asking could we stay to finish, we were repeatedly ushered out.We felt we had every right to finish the drink that had been purchased at the bar.At this point an extremely tall and broad foreign bouncer approached us. He was extremely menacing. He ordered us to leave. We told him we would leave as soon as we finished our drinks. At this point he said "if u girls don't leave, I'll lift you out.At this stage we felt so threatened, we left straight away. Just the result ur bouncer intended. Absolutely ruined what could have been a really nice evening.

Called into cobbles for a family lunch , great decision ! I had the beef and bird burger, my mrs had the open prawn salad and the child had sausages and chips , fantastic portions , absolutely delicious and the service was excellent ! Will definitely return.

I visited for the first time on Saturday for a wee bit of dinner food was fab and Kate our sever made the experience a five star .she was friendly,efficient and made my visit memorable .Will be recommending to friendship and family .5/5.

The food on offer in Cobbles was exceptional and the service fantastic - the bar man even went to a local taxi rank to get us a taxi! The service was a little slow but the quality of the food was exceptional and if back in Newry will revisit.

Fantastic food and fantastic service from our waitress Kate who went above and beyond to make sure our meal was satisfactory and we had everything we needed. Such a friendly and heartwarming woman! Will definitely be back.

On Tuesday 27th December myself and six other family members decided to look for a bite of lunch while on a shopping trip to Newry, Our decision was to enter The Cobbles Bar and Restaurant which turned out to be the best choice we were to make the entire day! We were greeted on entry by Kate (an exceptionally friendly waitress who quickly put us at ease and found appropriate seating for our party). The lunch menu was very extensive and suitable for all ages, Service was excellent as was the food (Kate is a real asset to this establishment!). This was a really pleasant experience and one which we will repeat soon without doubt!!

We were staying in the Canal Court and went to Cobbles for dinner. Staff are so welcoming from walking in to leaving. Food is 10/10

Myself and my wife shopping in Newry today.Went for early lunch to Cobbles .The young lady that served us was indeed a very helpful pleasant well mannered young lady.Questions asked about entrainment etc the girl was delighted to inform us of all the entertainment going on in the venue with great enthusiasm.Just for clarification this girl was the first girl on from 12pm as she had no name badge.The meal was beautiful but I love GOOD service and certainly received it today.So to that girl we will definitely be back and tell othersPlease keep up to the good work , many many places don't provide GOOD service.Thank youChris Mc DonnellBlearyPortadown

A good afternoon of early entertainment, went from 6 pm till about 8:30. They had more entertainment starting at 10, but we didn't stay for that. It was a nice crowd there just to listen to the band! We'd go back again!

Fish and chips lovely, as were my sisters chicken goujons. food was freshly made and we had a lovely seat overlooking the canal.

I visited here Friday night just passed with my wife. We dined and stayed for the music afterwards. The food was delicious and I cant believe how good the value was. The cocktails here are top class. The bar staff were very friendly. The dj was brilliant and played some of our requests . I would and will be recommending Cobles

After a busy day shopping in Newry me and my other half decided to visit Cobbles for dinner and a few drinks. I haven't been in a long time and will certainly be making a speedy return! We chose the 2 courses for £10 which was brilliant value for money. The food was delicious, I had breaded mushrooms and then the Thai curry. Our waitress was very helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed without being invasive. The restaurant had a good atmosphere so we decided to sit on and sample some of their cocktails. Plenty to choose from and great value for money! Looking forward to another visit.

Had lunch here with my parents on Fri very friendly atmosphere as soon as we walked in we were seated by the waitress she took our drinks order nicest latte I've ever had without it either bein cold r roasting hot we looked over the menu and there were even lunchtime specials good food choices I ordered the hot sambo with fries which was delicious my mum got cod and my dad the vegaterian curry food was well presented and so tasty the atmosphere was lovely and as it was a busy lunchtime staff still checked on us to see were we ok which u rarely see definitely will be bringing my husband to try out the two course evening deal for a tenner!

5 of us visited the upstairs disco on 19 March. One of the group asked the DJ, a grey haired guy with, glasses, to play a particular record. The DJ replied and quote word for word "I'm a Fxxxxxg DJ not a Fxxxxxg juke box" !!! I was shocking to say the least and spoiled the whole night !!

We visited Cobblers restaurant in Newry for Sunday lunch. It was around 2.00pm and the restaurant was quiet. The staff were very friendly. The Kids food menu was good value at £4.95 and the food was of very good quality and included an ice pop and a menu they could do a word search and colour in with crayons provided. We ordered soup and fries and a chicken dish for ourselves. My wife ordered the chicken but she found it was too spicy for her and we swapped dishes. The chicken would have been lovely if it wasn’t as spicy. The soup seemed homemade and was tasty. The place itself is nicely decorated and laid out and would be a nice spot for a few drinks at night. There were posters up showing a lot of music events in the bar and a two course meal special during the week for £10 and three cocktails for £12. My only suggestion would be that the men’s toilets could do with a revamp.

We stopped here yesterday en route home. We walked around until we found somewhere that first of all seemed to be opened and second of all that seemed to be serving good food. Finally we found this really nice bar and restaurant. The staff were super friendly and helpful when I inquired about the menu. The atmosphere was really relaxed and I would have easily sat there for the afternoon. The food was really tasty maybe to present the rice a little bit better would help with the visual of the curry dish. I would also advertise the great food you are serving here as we did walk around until we found this spot on the corner.

We really really enjoyed our meal here one evening before Christmas. Lovely atmosphere and great selections on the menu. Very well priced and delicious. I'm not really a fish lover but I saw a portion of cod goujons go to the table beside us and they looked so good I had to try and they did not disappoint.Definitely worth a visit

The better half and I decided to call in to Cobbles on a Wednesday evening for a bite to eat. We were quite taken back by how quiet it was, as we were the only two diners in the room. Both ordered the steak sandwich cooked rare. Both steaks arrived to the table cooked well done. I sent mine back and was told that the chef would have another one ready in two minutes. The second steak that arrived was cooked even worse than the first. I wasn't given fresh chips or side salad, and as a result, the chips weren't hot. I struggled my way through it as I was absolutely starving. How hard can it be to cook two steaks when the restaurant is so quiet? Service was just ok. A soft drink was taken off our bill, which was little compensation for one of the least enjoyable meals I've ever had. Will never eat here again.

Went here at the weekend for lunch, food was lovely couldnt have fault it the only thing i can say is i thought the staff were very slow with taling are food order and drink order, which i couldnt really understand as there seemed to be loads of staff on, u wouldnt need to be in rush if going here!

We had our hen night here/ And from the moment we arrived we where promptly seated.our drink an food orders where quickly taken,The place seemed very clean an the tables laid out lovely.The menu was great an I ordered a Texas burger ,which I would recommend it was lovely,or food arrived quickly,There seemed a great atmosphere about the place ,we where served by Glen who was warm an friendly,we went up stairs after our meal an had cocktails served to us by Mario who was totally professional but also very easy going an friendly an took the gentle banter we gave him as he made our cocktails with ease an explained everything as he went along..all us ladies had a great night an we will be back again,the place was just wonderful to us an made or hen feel very special its a night we will always remember,thanks to all the staff for helping or night go well

I had dinner with friends here last Sunday around 18:00. There was live music from a local band (Hair of the Dawg) who were great, but there was no need for the ear-bleed-inducing volume at which it was played for such a time in the day.Listed at the bottom of the menu was the phrase "we have a wide selection of vegetarian options" and to ask a server for details, which I duly did. Her response was, "We have... Brocolli... Brussel sprouts... You know, that kind of thing." After glancing back at my menu, I quickly realised she was talking about the selection of vegetables offered as a side dish rather than the vegetarian options. I restated my question, and she went to the kitchen to investigate.Upon her return, I was offered the pasta dish without the chicken, the stir-fry without the chicken or chorizo, the salmon, or the cod. Needless to say, I was not impressed! Offering me meat dishes without the meat is not, in my mind, a wide range of options. The less said about the offer of fish, the better.I had spotted a goat's cheese tartlet on the starters, so I opted for this with a side salad and chips. While not very exciting, it was lovely. The salad was substantial and well dressed; the tartlet was tasty and the pastry tasted home made. My issues with Cobbles are not with the quality of the food but rather the disappointing lack of choice, the misleading comments on the menu, and the lack of knowledge among the staff. I don't think it is too much to ask that servers know the vegetarian options available, and I certainly think they should be aware of the difference between vegetarian and pescatarian!We had some cocktails after our meal, and I would highly recommend the Captain's Jam (apricoty spicy rumy deliciousness). However, I was disappointed that we were charged separately for them (£4.95 each rather than the £4.50 listed on the menu) when we'd been told that it was 3 for £12. Apparently this only applies if you are choosing 3 of the same cocktails, whereas we'd deliberately ordered 3 different ones so we could sample them.

Had dinner with husband and kiddies on a Tuesday evening. Everything was delicious. Lovely comfortable surroundings and great service. Compliments to the chef. Highly recommend.

Dining in cobbles on a Tuesday night was fab!! We had a sharing platter amongst friend which wasn't on the menu but it was no problem to the staff! It was beautiful and I would highly recommend the spring rolls. Staff were fab! Cathy was our waitress and needs some recognition from her boss she was amazing and a credit to cobbles!Cocktails were delicious and the place was spotless!! Well done to all !

Had bite of lunch here not so long ago. It was pretty busy but plenty of staff on duty which was good. Food was tasty but portions abit on small side and plates could've been warmer. Nice chilled out atmosphere and clean surroundings. Would recommend for informal dining if its your thing.

Met a friend here who was meeting up with me and coming in from another town. I suggested we try Cobbles. Staff are very helpful, Great atmosphere, Food was absolutely delicious, we were both very full after eating. Nothing to fault.

My partner and I called into this place last Friday on our way to dublin, From the outside it immediately caught my eye and I suggested we give it a try. Right from we entered the doors the staff were pleasant and extremely welcoming which is what we all look out for. we had our choice of seating and after a quick look I ordered the garlic and chilli chicken which was absolutely gorgeous my partner ordered the fish which he said was lovely but the only one thing he would of suggested was that the fish was slightly overdone maybe that was because he is a chef himself and said it had been precook end too much before it was cooked again to finish it off and he likes things to be cooked his way. The price was reasonable as well and we will defiantly be back next time we are passing and I've already recommended it to a few friends who regularly passes through town as well.

Went here last night slightly worried after reading some of the reviews. It was very quiet which made me even more worried. However my concerns were unfounded. Although the menu is relatively simple with a lot of burger options my burger was delicious. My friend enjoyed her stir fry. The service was very good and staff were all great. Two main meals and a bottle of wine for less than £30. What a bargain.Things got busier when the band was setting up but that was when we left. Definitely worth a visit.

Very lively bar with delicious cocktails. There seemed to be quite a young crowd who enjoy this bar but if you have good company they are grand.

If you want a night out with the girls... something to eat, drink (cocktails) and a boogie.... then Cobbles is the place to be.Staff were courteous and the atomsphere class. Will be back.

Class food couldnt find a fault if you tried! New burger menue is unreal...cant help but think of the amount of time wasted spending similar amounts on a ham and cheese sammich..excellent spot for a cheap date too haha

Visit cobbles on a regular basis, never fails to impress even if your only calling for a few drinks. Food is 5star's would recommend the steak sandwich any day, chef even came out to say hello. Big shout out to our waitress noelle, nothing was a problem to her, she even recommended the captains jam cocktail which went down a treat, def be back again.
