Lovely staff and food scampi peas and chips fine.

Pleasant atmosphere. Nice ales looked after properly.

Called in there today for the first time since the recent renovations. They have done an excellent job. Service by Evonne was as always second to non.

Not been here for a long time and was waiting for train. new set up very nice.

I don't recommend this place. One of the ladies in our group, had a drink 🍸 spiked and ended up unconscious. Ladies 🚺 Avoid this Place

We are on holiday in Rhyl and whwn I am I always like looking for gold independent pubs, this was listed as the best in Rhyl and I wasn't Dissapointed, we all ate, very well priced most meals under £10, seemed home cooked, no ping chefs. They had 4 cask on offer, would recommend and visit again.

This is our second visit here this week. Took my grandaughter for lunch which we both enjoyed. Lovely lady behind the bar,friendly and cheerful. Food was tasty,reasonably prices and piping hot.

Best pub in Rhyl, service is great, staff are so friendly, get treated like family! Toilets are always exceptionally clean, which is rare in pubs these days and the beer garden is good in all weathers. Loyalty card for regular punters, great little pub with a good atmosphere and a mix of sport and music on the TV

My 1st time visiting the pub and it was holding a macmillan coffee morning. Lots of people there we didn't eat but food on menue looked great .we had tea n slice of cake it was all very pleasant. We will defo go again and have some food n a drink next time.toilets were fabulously clean. Really liked it in there.

Nice little pub with a great atmosphere and a pool table. I haven't tried the food yet but intend to in the future. Easy to travel to, being right near the bus station.

Great little find tucked away. Traditional pub, great beer, lovely staff and big screens for all the sports. Pool table 50p a go, dart board, snacks and food, no food on Sundays tho.

I was looking forward to visiting here as it come recommend. On checking the reviiwes all looked positive. However on arrival at 5.35pm I was too food service had stopped at 5.30. This seemed extrimlly early. I would like to revisit as this place had so many excellent reviews.

It said Dog Freindly but you was kicked outside with the dog so not going there again as the pub owner seen us go in and we sat out the back and as it was cold we came inside and was asked to leave or go outside

Called in lunchtime , six adults, baby in a pram and two dogs. Lovely staff , warm friendly welcome and an excellent value lunch. Highly recommended

Only popped in briefly for a quick pint before my train, but I got a warm welcome and a good pint. Interior decor looked homely and inviting. There was a good vibe in the pub. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Great spot, inside/outside, main bar area, pool table area or couple of rooms with extra seating- all have a great atmosphere. Always a good guest beer on tap and solid regular keg and cask beers

Visited this pub while in rhyl for a bank holiday weekend even though it was extremely busy did not have to wait to long to be served great choice of beers very friendly staff a small pub with loads of nooks and cranies to sit in well worth a visit a little jewle hidden away just next to the station

Was rudely asked leave because my pup chewed a cheap cushion. gave no offer of allowing to pay and was very aggressive and judgemental in her approach. short, chubby woman with glasses. stay away

Found this pub tucked away near the station. Tidy and well decorated. Quirky outside seating area. My dog was allowed in the garden area and got a treat from a lovely member of staff.

Came here with trepidation after reading it was not dog friendly but we need have not worried as the new landlord was very accommodating and advised dogs could use the sports bar and beer garden! We’d hoped for food but sadly they were not serving on the day we visited! The landlord was also very friendly and gave a fantastic recommendation for the town further down from Rhyl called Towyn which was lovely and had a great funfair for kids and market! Would recommend this pub and will definitely Visit again when we’re next in Rhyl

Friendly staff, good beer at very reasonable prices. New menu, I had curry and it was delicious, husband had chilli 🌶 which was also delicious. Starting to have entertainment at the weekends o and you must check out the beer garden really well thought out.

On a visit to Rhyl over Grand National weekend, we stumbled upon the Cob & Pen. The place was really friendly and welcoming, both staff and patrons alike. The outdoor beer garden with TV was the perfect setting in the sunshine; this along with excellent Cask ales made for a great afternoon.

A warm welcome guaranteed! Loved it so much we came here twice. Very hospitable and friendly landlord. Wonderful atmosphere. Good food at lunchtime and when we visited the second time, there was no staff in the kitchen so the landlord suggested we go get a takeaway and bring it back to the pub. The perfect solution. Wine served in ice bucket. My friend had plenty of time to catch up and really had a lovely time. The Cob & Pen is a little gem and a real authentic pub!!!!

Superb no none sense pub. A good selection of real ales, friendly staff and punters even to a none local. Busy enough but not over packed. Genuinely recommended. A but above what I’d expected in Rhyl

Found this pub next to bus station this week, great place friendly and welcoming staff and regulars. Lovely beer garden (sun trap) . Very clean and covid measures in place, will definitely return.

Having visited Rhyl for 1st time in 25years, got to say we wete disappointed. Run down and unwelcoming. Thank God we found the Cob and Pen. Lovely place. Fine beers and good, well priced food. Friendly staff . A big thankyou to all at the Cob for saving the day.

Been here before and definitely be back when I can. Lovely pub, owners and staff. great location right next door to railway and bus station which Is great excuse for me with broken hand to call in between busses for a drink. Also since re opening after covid lock down got it set up amazing and makes you feel safe, highly recommended

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday and had a lovely meal. Both meals were value for money and excellently presented. I had the homemade vegetarian chilli and it was one of the best vegetarian meals I have had since cutting out meat in October 2019. Great local friendly pub :) :)

Myself, wife and family went in on Sunday for the quiz night whilst on holiday in Rhyl, first time we had done a speed quiz which worked really well with updates of scores and no need for endless repeats and swapping of papers,loved the pub and beer price thanks very much for a great night

Just had our first meal here. I am gluten free and was delighted to find that they cater for such needs, having a very good knowledge of this aspect. We will certainly be eating here again, and again, and again....

We walked from Towyn to Rhyl, with the family and the dog, thought we would stop for a drink and a bite to eat. I googled dog friendly pubs and decided to call here. Having no cash one of us went in asking can we pay on card and can we walk through the pub with the dog to get to the beer garden, all which was fine. So we settled outside and a member of staff brought out a bowl of water for the dog, and gave him loads off attention. We ordered drinks which were very reasonably priced, and ordered food too, members of staff were really nice and friendly, the beer garden was beautiful. All adults in our party ordered food and we ordered deserts for the kids as they had already ate. Food was ok, value for money. Would definitely visit again.

We were here on a Thursday when a pint of real ale is just £2.50! Even on other days it is only £3. Beer was superbly kept and we sampled a few different ales. Great beer garden which we used as we had our dog. Would love it if an area inside could be made dog friendly just in case the weather was not good. On this occasion it was boiling and a real sun trap.

This is the best pub in Rhyl for food very tasty and great value for money and the beer is excellent as well we call there as often as we can and have never been disappointed

Was told this was a good pub. Cafferies tasted of vinegar. Obviously they don’t check their produce before selling it.

I had lunch here earlier today, with friends. I opted for the Chinese curry, which was very nice. We have eaten here before always nice meal and excellent service. The pub is well run catering for everyone. I had the fosters lager which went down with my meal, which was reasonably priced.

We visited here today for lunch....what a fabulous place.as we had a puppy with us we sat outside.there is a fabulous outdoor covered area with heater..We all ordered different meals and every one of them was spot on.Will definitely return here when next on holiday ...

The inn is very popular with locals and tourists alike. Good ale and good bar food at reasonable prices are the norm. The staff and management are very friendly.

A lovely and popular local pub in Rhyl. The beer is great and fresh. The food is lovely and surprisingly cheap. Abit short on seating, but has a few different rooms to find a seat/table. Bar can get abit busy.

Tucked away by the side of the bridge over the railway station in Rhyl it is easy to miss The Cob and Pen which would lead you to think that Rhyl didn'the have a decent pub with goodifferent beer. This one is run by Noel & Amanda who are welcoming but not pushy: their staff are the same type of low key friendly people. The main beers at the moment are Marston's but there are two hand pumps dedicated to beers from mainly small local breweries and sometimes ones from further a field but all served through clean, well maintained lines. The pub seems to have a reputation for food but I only go occasionally later at night so if food is offered I cannot comment on it. The Cob and Pen is an island of civilised people enjoying a drink without the everyday casual vermin that frequent town centres at night. The customers are socially well adjusted adults.

Nipped in for a post apollo-bingo pint. The father wasn't sure about the hop house lager on offer so the bartender allowed him to taste. Satisfied with the product I ordered the pint in addition to a guinness which came to just over 6 quid. Cheap beer, friendly staff and free pool if you can shift the locals.

This pub is a true gem, tucked away on a side street next to Rhyl station. It appears to have all its original features with lots of small rooms.

Lunch for 12 plus drinks brought with a minimum of fuss. Friendly staff who were very happy to help when our table split into two (some wanted to go outside)- running drinks and plates between tables!! Thanks Cob & Pen!

Had a pint and a sandwich with some chips. The staff where very good the menu is for sure something for everyone. A good selection of beers. The outside beer garden is pleasant.

Been here a couple of times now when in Rhyl and love this place for a good value lunch. Although not extensive, the menu has quite a bit of choice and the food is freshly cooked and there's lots of it. The staff are very welcoming and the place has a nice cosy feel. The best option in town!

Use the Cob & Pen nearly every Friday for lunch with my friend and have never been disappointed. Noel, Amanda and the rest of their team are great and make us feel special. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

I have visited this bar many times and found it mostly enjoyable. On the last occasion however I went for Sunday dinner and found undercooked I brought this matter up with the person who had served us and they didn't give much an apology and didn't seem to bothered about the problem or offer to rectify it in anyway. The other times I have been on there the service was pleasant and efficient so I would recommend going there.

I have been a regular at the Cob & Pen over the years, it's everything and more that you expect from a top pub, personally I rate it as the pub in this town. You feel so comfortable as you enter, it's not unlike the feeling of walking through your own front door!! Amanda and Noel the licensees always offer a warm welcome, and they work tirelessly for local charities, and are huge supporters of the local Lifeboat and it's crew.The lunch time menu is excellent value for money, with daily specials, the Sunday lunch is amazing!!

Popped in on two occasions for a quick lunch with friends. Two different choices off a very inviting menu, both excellent. Staff helpful and efficient and quick service. Think visiting here for lunch will be a regular occurrence.

A warm welcome with hand pulls and food that equals the very best restaurant without their prices. Very handy for the bus station, rail station and the centre of Rhyl.

We visit this pub often and most times we eat as well. their food is always well prepared and tasty, their portions are excellent. Can't fault the staff, always cheerful and friendly.Easy to get to with a huge Council car park available just behind.

Since we retired, we have been to many pubs for a treat at lunchtimes but so often we have ended up as the only customers and with overpriced bland food. We decided to try the Cob in the summer, with some hesitation, as when I lived in bed-sit land in Rhyl decades ago, this pub was a no-no. Anyway it is lovely! Several rooms to choose from, the staff are pleasant and efficient and the menu has a good selection from main meals, love the chicken curry, to sandwiches and toasties. We have now been four times and have always enjoyed our meals.

We come to the cob and pen most Fridays for lunch and a drink, meals are very reasonable priced.,last meals are cooked at 3pm. It's a nice clean pub were you would want to meet your friends.

I've spent the last couple of years driving miles outside my home town for decent sunday lunch -- so delighted to find this on my doorstep.

I love to eat here, I have never had a bad meal The real ale is not the cheapest in town, but still good value as it is always well kept.

The food was hot and cheap, this is a pub so do not expect top notch food, however the food was good for the price. The staff were friendly and the pub it self was very good, also the toilets were clean.
