An absolutely sensational, dining experience! Every single course of food was terrific. The Cullen skink, the Fillet steak, And the mincemeat pie for dessert. Plus, the service was very attentive and professional. Would absolutely go back in a heartbeat!

An excellent place to spend a wet November afternoon in Oban. The welcome and the restaurant were both warm, and we enjoyed a wonderful lunch of scallops, mussels, garlic mushrooms on sourdough and fish soup. A good selection of wines by the glass, at reasonable prices, complemented the meal. Our first visit, and definitely not our last.

We visited as a couple on Saturday 11th November 2023. Popped in after reading the menu board and booked a table for later that evening. There were two menus displayed, classic and À la carte. I should point out the classic menu is not on their website and if I’d only looked online I wouldn’t have booked. We were able to mix n match as all items are individually priced. Starters - mussels in white wine sauce, mushrooms on sourdough Main - salmon fillet with potatoes and veg, blade of beef with roast potatoes and veg Dessert - chocolate and salted caramel tart, sticky toffee pudding and butterscotch sauce both with a scoop of ice cream Latte and a double espresso Bottle of white wine. Water and bread Food was fantastic as was the setting, atmosphere and service. Change from £90 which I thought was fantastic value also. Highly recommended

By far the best dinner we had during our time in Oban. The food was excellent and there was a very nice wine list with some extraordinary bottles to choose from. Service was very attentive and friendly. In short, it ticked all the boxes and we were sad we could not go back for another night as we were leaving the next day.

We popped into this place looking for a spot for lunch that didn't have a wait. We had no idea it was #1 in Oban and I'm sure we were lucky to get a table. Everything we ate was fantastic, but the lemon cream dessert was change-your-life amazing. I'd go back to Scotland just for that.

Coast is a favourite place for us & we always try to eat here when in Oban. Still as good as ever. A small place serving modern British cuisine; Choce of a la carte or classical menus-something to suit everyone. We started with the scallops & black pudding. Generous number of scallops, delicious, perfectly cooked. For mains, my other half picked a fillet steak which arrived with awesome crispy chips & cavolo nero. I opted for the hake with a kedgeree risotto-such tasty fresh fish. Too full for puds, we enjoyed a glass of wine to complete our meals. Staff were very helpful & friendly too. Total bill £95. Absolutely worth it.......we'll be back!

We ordered the Scallop appie, which was not bad'. For Mains, venison for me, it was okay, good flavour but disappointed with how it was executed, rather chewy and small portion. My wife had halibut,it was okay though a bit overcooked.

One of the best meals we had during our two week Scotland trip. Food was fantastically flavorful! Fresh and expertly cooked. Highly recommended.

Superb meal. We both had the scallops, then sole and the halibut for mains. All beautifully cooked, finished off with chocolate tart and citrus sponge, both delicious. Can’t rate highly enough, will be back next time in Oban!

My wife and I came here on Friday night along with my American grandmother, who is currently visiting from there. Service and food were both fantastic, they even took us a little eating to accommodate the weather outside. Great little place and would highly recommend!

Food was imaginative yet let the flavours speak for themselves. Superb scallops and excellent halibut. Service was relaxed yet excellent, quite honestly nothing could be improved on.

We first visited Coast back in 2004 when Richard and Nicola had opened Coast only 2 weeks before our visit. A couple of weeks ago we made our third visit here and were just as pleased with the high quality of both food and service as on the first visit. It is very satisfying to see a young couple that have put in so much time and effort into what is a difficult business, not only still being in business almost 20 yrs later, but still maintaining the high standard as on our first visit. Well done Richard and Nicola.

We went for an early evening meal, 5.30 as at short notice it was fully booked later. We had scallops and black pudding starter followed by feta and pumpkin rissoles with kale and potatoes. The starter was from the a la carte menú and the main from the daily menu. Both were well presented and carefully cooked: the best we had in Oban on this visit. The staff were very pleasant: as the website says, attentive but not intrusive. I recommend it for a treat.

Great wee place. Staff were excellent, arrived a bit early and this was not an issue. Service was great, food was fabulous and it was great being able to mix and match both menus. Overall I felt everything was fantastic and feel £160 for 4 people including drinks (3 courses) was excellent value. If staying in Oban again I will be back. Would recommend to anyone.

Lovely spot for a delicious lunch.

We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to fit us in for dinner. We had butternut squash risotto and angus steak. The meal was very good and nicely presented. The service was excellent. It is a small restaurant, so not a lot of seating.

We were not able to book a table for dinner so we arrived at 5:30pm as it opened. We got a table for 1:30mins time slot. It was quite busy and the service wasn't quick so we didn't have time to have pudding. However the food we had was delicious. Liver paté to start then mussels or beef.

Really amazing food. I was worried about being full because the portions aren't that big. However I was pleasantly full and happy. The food was superb and was almost exactly what I envisioned when I ordered my dinner. Staff were great. The atmosphere is a small let down as it felt quite stuffy and upper class, I was a bit nervous there. But overall it didn't detract from a wonderful meal.
