Once again made it up to Luss to the Coach House for a totally tasty lunch. The Chicken and Rice soup is to die for and it alwsys comes with a huge slab of buttered fresh bread. Order a tea....their beautiful tartan teapots hold oodles of tea. The location is ideal and the whole ambiance is truly Scottish. Will be back later this year for another bowl of soup and perhaps one of those huge merrangues in the cake display case.

Visited the coffee shop when staying in Luss for a festive break. We had completed the magical Festive Fairy Trail and stopped for a bite to eat and a cuppa. It was so welcoming, with a roaring fire and pretty Christmas lights. The staff were so attentive and cheerful, providing excellent service. The food was absolutely delicious-I had the leek and cheese quiche, with a very well presented salad and yummy home made coleslaw, whilst my hubby had the soup and a huge chunk of bread. The crockery was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Thank you.

We had a lovely trip to Luss and went to the coach house for a late lunch. The tomato soup was lovely & it came with a lovely chunky slice of bread. The coffee shop itself is lovely, with gorgeous tartan crockery. The home-baking looked amazing, and we would have had something had we not had an early dinner booked! We will definitely return on our next visit.

This is a regular family trip however we have found that it has been not as good as it used to be. Arrived just after 10:40 to be told there were no scones as they don’t open til 10 so had just been made. Went for the cinnamon toast which to be frank was very unpleasant. The drinks were lukewarm and the coffee was basically a milky drink. Considering it’s not the cheapest of cafes it will be a while before we go back which is a shame as it was something we all looked forward to

Visited with friend. Had enjoyed previous visit but roll today was overpriced and lacking in flavour .While I appreciate costs have increased, £7.90 for what was no more than a large flat dry salad roll is excessive and poor reflection on taking advantage of what is primarily a tourist clientele. Also disappoint to see that although the female staff wore masks at all times , the male server wearing his kilt obviously thought it was a mask for his chin and and no point had it over his mouth, despite greeting customers and serving food to customers.

Surprised at previous reviews re customer service. Our customer service was warm and friendly. Scone was heated on our request and came with all 3 butter cream and jam (and plenty of it). We ordered tea for 2 and we got 3 cups each from the pot and all was served in a lovely tea set which was on sale in the gift shop. Price of the tea pot alone was £79 so i thought this was a nice touch. Another few special touches were fresh flowers on the tables and a well stocked baby changing unit with nappies, wipes and even baby food available to help yourself!

Enjoying a lovely day out with family and friends in this beautiful little town. Nipped in to the coach house and had a delicious bowl of the soup however the staff member that served me couldn't have been less welcoming. It felt like a military camp! Barked at to do track and trace and then she looked like she couldn't be bothered to bring the soup over? She was very abrupt and quite rude. My husband and myself attended this cafe as it was a favourite of ours. However, today's visit wasn't great. The Lomond latte used to be served in a tall glass/cup. Today it wasn't. However it was deliciou. The let down was the cakes. I had a cup cake, unfortunately it was really small and dry. My husband had carmel apple Betty pie with ice cream. It was the smallest piece of pie I'd seen. Wouldn't mind if the cost reflected the size. The cupcake (which is listed as small cake on the receipt) to my astonishment cost £3.80 and the apple pie (which is listed as large on the receipt) was £4.80, this wasn't including the ice cream, the price of which I can't remember. Whilst the cappuccino and latte were delicious they had also jumped in price by a fair bit. I get it that businesses have lost money over the last 18 months or so but unfortunately on this occasion we didn't feel that we had value for money. Oh another thing the scones on display were not covered initially and people were standing right next to them, hence the reason we didn't buy a scone. However I will say they were eventually covered. Sorry I doubt we will be back as we both felt ripped off.

Lovely place to eat. It was a cold, wet and windy day, so to find this gem in Luss to shelter from the elements was very welcome. It is really big once you walk through the front entrance and turn left. There are plenty of tables and chairs, well set out. Nice menu, choice for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. I had a homemade vegetable soup, but there were two other soups on offer; Brocolli & Basil and another, which I can’t remember as it wasn’t vegan. My friend had homemade quiche with dresses salad and homemade coleslaw. The Scottish themed teapots, cups and saucers were a nice quirky extra. There is a little gift shop to the right side of the entrance door with some lovely items for sale.Happy travellers, fed and watered

Anyone who has worked in a decent coffee shop can see the poor practices here. Steaming wand never wiped or flushed out between coffees, absolutely covered in dry milk. Didn’t see the woman rinsing any jugs either, group heads weren’t flushed. Resulted in very poorly made, bland, burnt coffees which were not cheap either. We had 3 coffees, a roll and a scone which came to £20. We come from the northern isles so can sympathise with needing to have higher prices but this was not worth it. It’s a shame because this place has clearly got good branding etc and could be good.

I found it difficult to taste banana as did my partner, certainly no taste of caramelnor of coffee so apart from the cresm and flake we found it a little bland. I also consumed a piece of Toffee and Pecan shortbread which tasted delicous but was very small for its extravagent price. The three items cost £14 which by my reconing was over £4 too much. Staff were civil and courteous as well as attentive. Not over busy but not quiet either and plenty of space to sit.

We finished what was a lovely day in Luss complementing staff in the village store, ice cream vans etc.Until we came here. Thought we'd have a refreshment before our hour long drive home. Two girls at coffee bar were lovely. We sat outside. But on finishing our drinks I thought I'd use the toilet facilities. It was almost closing and I could see the cafe area was being cleaned so I asked at coffee bar if it was OK to use toilet.I went into cafe to a shreiking woman shouting track and trace. I was a bit perturbed and I looked around to see what she meant. Again she shreaked, behind you Track and trace! Now I am aware of covid rules and was mannerly and courteous myself. I expect the same in return.Did she think I'd walked in from the street? How did she know if I hadn't already tracked and traced!? Also only people in were two kilted men and her. We are being asked to be kind to staff in shops and hospitality. But there is a way of speaking to customers. A friendly request is all that was required.I was so upset at the way she spoke to me I left and resorted to using the dalek inspired toilets at the new car park.I don't think I'll be back!

We chose to sit in a quirky conservatory area, with a beautiful mossy indoor/outdoor wall as our backdrop. All the staff we spoke to were super friendly, and despite it being busy, it felt very covid-secure and we were never rushed along. I noted the toilets were also very clean.Generous lashings of tea (honestly, the teapot was enormous) washed down two of the most delicious scones. I had a feta & olive scone (bear with me) which was soft & moist with a crisp savoury outer crust, served with soft whipped cheese & cranberry jam. Stonking. OH went for traditional cream & jam scone; also agreeing it was one of the best.I really don't know why there are so many comments about it being expensive - bemused as to where these people must eat - but for £13, we thought this was excellent value. A great place to stop for a bite to eat. They have a gift shop as well but we found the items expensive, however they have a good selection of gifts.

Three of us popped in here after a walk through Luss. The cafe was busy and we waited for a table which wasn't a problem. We waited a while to get served and the waitress explained that they were very busy and short staffed, to which we told her it wasn't a problem. Having all of us worked in hospitality at various points we understand how stressful this can be. A kilted waiter brought us our tea and coffees by slamming all of them down on the table, not asking who had what then loudly huffed and stomped away. After eating, we wanted some cake so I went up to look at the selection at the counter so we could decide. The waiter angrily shouted over the entire cafe to me to "just wait a minute and I'll come over to take your order". About 10 minutes after this, he came over and took our order. No pleasantries, not even any eye contact. He served us our cakes by slamming the plates down on the table, again with another loud huff which resulted in him breathing all over the cakes, and then stomped away again. At no point were we rude to any member of staff and were quite understanding about delays and the busy atmosphere. This was some of the worst service we have ever received and considering the high price of the food and drinks, expected a higher standard of customer service. Restaurants and cafes regularly face busy days and stressful situations but rule number one is to never take it out on customers. There are lots of other places to eat and drink in Luss and the surrounding areas so I'd recommend spending your money there instead.

We popped in to this lovely little place today (04/03/20) whilst visiting Luss. We didn’t initially know it was there until we nearly walked past it but we are so glad we visited. The staff are by far the friendliest we have encountered. We (and our wee Westie) were welcomed very warmly. The gentleman in the kilt (so sorry, we didn’t catch your name) who took our order was lovely and brought a biscuit for our Westie. Dogs are very well catered for and welcomed so do stop in if you have a dog. The food and drink is amazing. Such a broad choice. We could have stopped all day, it was so cosy and warm and delightful. If you are in Luss, this place is a must stop!

I revisited The Coach House Coffee shop this month during a trip to Scotland with my family and found that once again the experience was thoroughly sublime. As a previous customer I had relatively high expectations of my visits and found that they were more than met by the warm and attentive staff and as always delicious cakes and sandwiches. A highlight of our trip up north!

We popped in for a small bite and coffee, nice setting, lovely decor and warm and friendly greeting on arrival. However, the waitress came over within a few seconds (I was still taking my coat off) to ask what we were having. I asked for a couple more minutes, and she left without a word. Less than two minutes later she came back over. Felt a bit pressured, to be honest. We ordered cinnamon toast, coffee and a juice, which all came to £12. We were told the toast will take longer in the kitchen (not sure why!?). I wouldn't have been so disappointed if the quality had been better - the toast was one small slice each and not of particularly good quality (think supermarket bakery counter) coffee was very bland and the juice from a carton (I saw them pour it, looked like Morrisons!). We felt decidedly gouged and don't think we'd go back. We went to beautiful cafe in inverary the day before and spent less, had better coffee and much better service. This place could do more to focus delivering the quality it seems to promote, rather than giving mediocre quality at sky high prices.

Very disappointed with what looks like a lovely cafe. We ordered the ‘basil and tomato ciabatta pizza’. It was a tasteless open top ciabatta topped with tomato paste, a measly amount of cheese, 3 cherry tomatoes & dried basil. DAYLIGHT ROBBERY at a cost of over £13!! (Only accompanied by salad). I would be embarrassed to serve this to my 2 year old. Also it says it is vegan friendly- only option for lunch is soup. I will say the soup and bread was a tasty option. And the coffee was ok.

This place came recommended - specifically for cake. I took my kids there for a treat, however both cakes we had were almost inedibly tasteless for me (they are 6 and 7 so they were happy with the sugar). The staff are absolutely lovely though.

.Last visit the scones were terrible but we were told the usual baker was on a day off. We went for coffee and a scone but the scones looked like hard bread rolls , the baker must had left for good. We decided on a cheese sandwich which they called a Stokie. I thought nearly £8 for a cheese sandwich sounded expensive but maybe it would be special ! No such luck , a thin layer of grated cheese in crusty bread . A desert spoon of coleslaw and a little bit of salad. We also had a muffin which was good. But £7.65 for a cheese roll. A muffin at £3.55 and coffee at £3.10 a cup. Nice cafe but not that nice. Not worth the 20 minute wait to be served. I think all their awards have gone to their heads.

on a cold wet day in December the place provided an oasis of warmth, shelter, tea, cake and company. We had a great position in a far corner near the outside seating (plentiful for the right day) - other tables were long and you get to share with others - no mean thing but not to everyone's taste. Cakes and coffees were delicious and the price acceptable. The srevice was friendly and attentive - we are glad we popped in.

I ordered a de- caff cappuccino with cinnamon on top , lemon and elderflower cake . The cappuccino was so sweet I couldn’t drink it , I called the waitress and asked if they had put sugar in , as it was way too sweet . YES they put SYRUP in !!!!! WHY I didn’t ask for a dollop of syrup , and as for the cake , no elderflower taste , sickly , stale , lemon buttercream with sprinklies on top . HUGELY overpriced . Hubby ordered cinnamon toast , it looked disguisting and Hugely overpriced for that as well . So disappointing , and we are local , your serving this to the tourists what must they be thinking . And your waiter needs some lessons in customer care , it seems as if everybody was greeted with are you ready to order mate !!! NO I am not your mate , a lovely coffee house , shame about the quality and expensive food . Won’t be back

I visited the Coach House on 29 October for lunch but was disappointed with the food which is pricey. I ordered a quiche and salad which cost nearly £14.00 and afterwards had apple pie which was not heated. The café that day was busy and there were not enough staff to serve the customers. The waitress allocated us a table and then said we would probably have to share. The tables are large and maybe it would be a good idea to have smaller tables for two people as people do not want to share with other people.

Afternoon visit husband and grandson age 2. Very busy 10 minute wait, time spent browsing in the attached small gift shop. We choose soup (chicken and leek). Two large 1 small arrived after 10 minutes, boiling served with chunky bread and already buttered ( scrapping) we had to wait sometime for it to cool down not ideal for a child and as he could not eat it after a long wait he gave up bored we left without the coffee and very enticing selection of cakes. Not cheap. But enjoyed the soup.

Visited this cafe & received a warm welcome from staff. I had a bowl of lentil soup with bread which was delicious, & also a latte. It was a bit expensive at just under £10 but I'm guessing it's mainly catering for the tourists. My dog was given a free chew & we got the sofa in front of the fire which was nice. Food menu seemed quite limited & expensive. The list of cakes & desserts looked great, although I didn't have any. Service was quick & staff were pleasant. I would visit again if i was in the area with my dog again. I think they offer takeaway & there's also a gift shop.

Came here mid-morning with kids and grandparents. Service was fine, the place is pleasant enough. But none of our cakes (6 types ordered) were good, and the coffees and hot chocolates were not good at all. Kids hot choc had large lumps of chocolate powder at the bottom of the mug. Really not nice at all. Opportunistic, touristy feel. And very expensive. Not recommended.

Have been coming to this lovely coffee shop on and off for years. Love the decor, the food and the service. However, as much as they are all spot on, one issue will prevent us from returning and that is the price that they now charge for everything. This place has never been cheap but we have never begrudged the prices in the past. On our visit a couple of days ago, we were shocked at how much they are now charging to the point that three of us only ordered a coffee and nothing else and even contemplated leaving and going elsewhere. There are lots of tourists visiting Luss who are obviously willing to pay but unfortunately you have now priced yourself out of our budget.

There's a lil gift shop as well on the right when you walk in that has a few lil unique things. I would definitely go again.
