Daughter in Newcastle booked a table for mothers day. Once again the food was beautiful. Top marks to the chef. Cauliflower and cheese was to die for. To be given a glass of prosecco was a lovely touch. Hubby and myself came in yesterday for sunday dinner. Sorry to say roast potatoes were overdone and soft. Hardly any cheese sauce on cauliflower. Bit disappointed. Please please kkep up the good work. The waitresses are lovely. So polite. Will definitely be back.

Good local pub. Lots of different lagers and ales. Friendly barmaid. Lots of upcoming events including a beer festival in May

This is a great pub. The range of beers and real ales is magnificent. The food was delicious and the menu is great because there is something for everyone. The service was excellent too. We will definitely return.

Roast dinner was nice but not great. Overfaced but it's better than not enough. The Staff were excellent. Will return

Have never been here before - which I struggle to believe, myself! Only popped in as somebody told me they serve Rattler (they do). The food looked good so I ordered the chilli. My gosh! That was great! The decor is a little too busy for me but that won't stop me visiting again some time soon 07.02.24 Two Rattlers with chilli, rice and chili (nachos and guacamole). Love it!

If you are after a Sunday roast, then this is the place to go! At only £14.95, its a bargain and the size of the dosh you get is incredible- good luck finishing it! Its also a great pub for other days of the week, really good atmosphere and great service all the time.

Three of us went here for our Sunday lunch. We can quite honestly say that it was the best Sunday lunch that we have had anywhere. It was freshly cooked, 3 different Meats lovely veg and yorkshire. It was a proper homemade Sunday dinner and it was massive. We enjoyed it very much and will DEFINITELY go back. It was also nice that our little dog was welcome.

Great pub. Cool interior with all the beer memorabilia. Big menu with lots of choice. When on a Sunday and the roast did not disappoint. Large portions and very tasty. Good selection of local and National beers on tap. A couple of fridges for takeaways too. Friendly service. Highly recommend.

THIS is a pub, great beer, great atmosphere, great bar staff, best pub in Wellingborough, will definitely return.

This is a traditional small town pub, but with a huge range of excellent beers, which the landlord knows how to look after properly. Plenty of other drinks too, more gin options than beer! Food is the usual pub grub with a couple of additional options, but the chef always cooks them perfectly. Bar staff are all friendly, helpful, and fast. It welcomes dogs and has a nice large beer garden for those summer days. I am glad it is my "local", best pub in town.

Love comics here, food always good, staff always friendly & they do Rattler on tap. Feels like a proper pub should feel. Highly recommend. Also have live bands, like White Room, Point Blank & Forever 80’s ….

Didn't eat, but a great place, deserving of the awards they have had over the years... many beers and many ciders too

Visited with my wife I ordered the mixed grill when it came out there was only one sausage instead of two also I asked for the steak to be medium ended up being like shoe leather. When I mentioned this to the waitress there was no apology or anything she just left with the plate. Will not be going back.

What a wonderful pub staff and service was great.The beer selection was outstanding. It's definitely a pub not to miss.

Driven past this pub thousands of times, and finally decided to pop in as the exterior looks so inviting with its beautiful baskets full of flowers and its traditional pub decor. We were greeted by a team of friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the drinks they serve (there's a huge selection of real ales and traditional ciders) We'll definitely be back for a meal in the near future

Great traditional pub offering excellent value meals and an exceptional choice of real ales, craft keg beers, draught ciders and craft cans . Surrounded by memorabilia from the British brewing industry. Always look forward to meeting up with friends at this great pub.

Great pub with a great atmosphere 👌

Absolutely no respect for the local community. They feel the need to play incredibly loud music that can be heard on a half a mile radius every single bank holiday. Lord forbit someone wants to relax in their own home and have a quiet weekend or...read a book in the evening! Why can't you find a medium volume that allows your customers to have a great time and still give your neighbours some respect like the rest of the local pubs? The horseshoe is closer to my house than you, but I never once heard anything come from them because they know the definition of 'volume' and 'respect'

Nice pint of ale and brie and bacon panini made for a pleasant lunch.

Came for a Father's Day Sunday lunch with my daughter, her partner and the Grand-dog...fabulous choice of beers and ciders (great draughts and two fridges full of tinnies)...food was plentiful, hot and tasty...staff were helpful, charming and lovely

Great pub with fantastic beers and cider. If you are in Wellingborough and like craft beer this is the pub for you! Beware it is over 18s only which upset my husband as it meant he had to go home before he had tried all the beers 🤣

Veteran owned Sapper and a Matlot......... what could possibly go wrong!! Great atmosphere and warm and welcoming staff. Massive support for veterans and their families. I'm definitely coming back👍🏻even Rudy enjoyed himself 😉

Popped in for something to eat after having a day out, Sunday is roast day and the size is huge, well cooked veg and meats, great pub with a good atmosphere worth a visit. We will be back to try the burgers at some point. 25th March popped in for a burger black and blue, be hungry, is all I say good size thin fries and well flavoured for me it didn't need the bacon, washed down with a pint of Honey ale very nice.

Best pub in Northants - perfect bar food menu of deep fried crispy stuff and burgers and a Supermarket Craft Beer isle selection of kegged beers to wowed by. No other place has this sort of range a mix of indie and commercial craft beers to sample. Just wish they still had nano bot on tap

Large food centric town pub, with a number of hand pumps. Good selection but only one traditional amber/copper bitter tonight. It was BYB from Yorkshire and was well kept.

What a fantastic, 'proper' pub. Not unique, but the sort of pub that has evolved over many decades. The walls bedecked with memorabilia, photos and countless 'Pub of the Year' certificates. Great beers, a vast array of good food, and really welcoming staff. Unfortunately I live 100 miles away🙉 otherwise I'd be in there every night. Don't miss it if you're in Wellingborough.

Lovely venue, nothing like sitting outside in mid November enjoying the sun and river views.

Heard loads about this pub so thought we would try it for a Sunday roast and we were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was fab. The portion size was so generous and the food so tasty. Nice atmosphere in the pub and lovely staff. Will definetly be going back again.

Best pub in Wellingborough by far, especially for beer drinkers there is plenty of choice. Always bands on a Bank Holiday and gets really busy. Plenty of seating inside with even more in the garden. Always enjoy a pint or two here.

Popped in whilst on a night out. Had a drink whilst sat in the garden. Lovely place, clean, friendly staff.

I really like(d) the coach. It would get a 5 star but.. They have a poster saying children are welcome on Sundays... So being a family man I take the kids on a Sunday, but every single Sunday the bar staff make a big point of saying,... (script below) Staff member: we normally don't allow children in, but (sigh) as it's Sunday we will do Me: there's a poster clearly stating children are welcome Sundays? Staff member: yes they are not allowed normally Me: the poster advertises they are allowed on a Sunday Staff member: but not normally Me: exactly what the poster says. Why are you telling me this, do you not want the children here? Staff member: no its ok as it is a Sunday Me: no, it is OK. I will just go to The George in Wilby, just down the road, a far superior pub, with friendly bar staff that don't get into these weird circular non arguments about children being allowed in a pub on the one day they are allowed into the pub as you advertise in your window. Me: addios I will go now to enjoy my Guiness in peace

Not been in here for a few years & the back has really changed. Had food and it was really good. Will definitely go again.

Haven't been in this pub for a while due to bad service but I thought I would give it another go. Approached bar, two bar staff ignored me. After several minutes they decided to serve me with a look that would kill. No thank you's or nothing. Sat in garden, with notices everywhere asking you to take in your own glasses as under staffed. Sorry but that's what you get paid for!

Lovely friendly atmosphere inside, huge hidden gem of a garden out back, huge range of gins and ales available. Will definitely be joining them again soon.

Best pub in Wellingborough, not the cheapest, but very well kept, lovely & clean, lovely food,knows how to keep a beer according to the husband👍 & you know there will not be any trouble. Called in again today, after not going in for a long time, still nice ,clean, & just a really nice place to sit & have a quiet drink.

5 stars just for the sheer selection. Staff helpful and don't mind letting new customers have a wee sniff and taste of the beer before buying a pint. Expensive but what place that serves decent beer isn't these days.

Just moved into the area and was absolutely delighted to find such an amazing pub on our doorstep. Excellent selection of beers on tap and the food was sensational! couldn't fault it.

The food, music, choice of beers/ales were unmatched to anywhere in Wellingborough. We are thrilled to make this our new local! Definitely come here for a nice chilled time with great atmosphere. Also the full suite of Beavertown was the highlight!

Not the fault of this local but seems customers have deserted their old habit of "going for a pint". Shame.

Difficult to find fault with this pub. Called in for a pint while waiting for my wife. First in as the door opened, so must look eager! Always a great range on tap, freindly staff and welcoming environment.

Usually spend our Friday evenings here, what better way to relax and enjoy the great selection of Craft Beers they have to offer, unless your a Gin fanatic you will enjoy it here too with probably over 20 different gins. Food is good and service is equally as good that is why we come back again.

Had a great time. The bar staff is friendly and a plethora of beers available. I will be back to take advantage of the beer garden come summer.

Great Pub with tasty food. The pub has a wide selection of beers etc and a good menu. Ordered the moo and blue pie which was delicious and hearty, it was served with chips, red cabbage and extra gravy. The service was quick and the pub was clean with a good atmosphere, with lots of memorabilia to look at whilst you enjoy a drink. A great find in the town of Wellingborough, not the type of pub you’d expect to encounter. Well worth a visit.
