Coach and Horses in Harborough

We had a pre-Christmas catch up with our friends here. There were 8 of us including the kids and there was something for everyone's taste. The roast turkey dinner was delicious! The staff are friendly. We've been before and enjoyed each meal we have had and will defininitely go again.

Conveniently located on the basin road. An old school pub tended by very friendly staff and offering huge portions of really tasty food. The brie wedges were impressive and so was the pie (pictured). Had great time!

Really pleased with our visit here, greeted as we came in and a suitable table found for us and our dog and baby. Really accommodating with my nut allergy and the food was home cooked and tasty and really reasonably priced. The nachos were to die for and we have a mixed grill and a cheeseburger that were also delicious. If you’re having the nachos I’d highly recommend topping them off with the homemade beef chilli.

Reasonable prices for drinks and decent food.

We had a group meal here just before Christmas. Absolutely lovely.

Went with my Wife, Daughter, Son in Law and Granddaughter for my Birthday evening meal on the 21st December 2023, the food was absolutely brilliant, all the meals were different and cooked perfectly and hot, the service was excellent, all the staff worked very hard to make the visit an enjoyable one, the chefing standard is very high, you will not be disappointed if you visit this place !

We held our annual staff Christmas party here this year and all had a fabulous time! Between us, we ordered all options on the festive menu and honestly, everything was delicious! Huge portions, perhaps a little too big for a 3 course meal for some of us but great value for money. The welcome and service was fantastic by all staff working on the night.

We called here for lunch today with our daughter, she only lives 5 mins away & was a great place to meet.we have visited various places around this area to have lunch but this was by far the best ever.. We had a roast turkey dinner & I consider myself a very good cook but this meal surpassed our recent meals anywhere & was as good as I have cooked. The turkey melted in our mouths, propper mash, loved the parsnip..so moist & not burnt, veg was great & a yorkshire pudd that was'nt flat or full of air.. must also say that this gravy was the best ever...not watery & thin ..loads of flavour..a joy ..the staff were fantastic..loads of not fake smiles they were so welcoming & we couldnt have wished for nicer people..Unfortunately we didnt take any pics but if u want a fanastic meal then this is the place to go. Thankyou to all the Landord, the lovely staff & the chef..we had a fantastic meal & felt like we were so welcome.....we will be back again 😋😋😋

Just what a country pub should be like. Warm,welcoming, and friendly. Plated carvery was very enjoyable. Lamb was lovely and proper home made yorkers. 😍

This is a prominent pub in a wealthy area, but it was freezing cold in 2 of the three rooms, the lighting was ghastly and even from the very limited midweek lunch menu the thing I ordered was not available. The food and beer was perfectly fine and the staff are friendly. This place needs some significant investment though. I’m sorry for the folk running the pub, but it’s only fair to warn people.

Had family visiting and Booked a table there after looking online at the menu and there was plenty of choice. We were sat in the back restaurant area, firstly by the entrance to the kitchen but we asked to move to the snug area, which we did. The restaurant was very, very cold and spoilt the enjoyment of the evening. My dad even put is coat on during eating. There was no heating on and we left before finishing our drinks as we needed to get home and get warm. Another two couples came in, sat with their coats on and left very quickly too. The good and service was good though but maybe only go in the summer when the place is warm.

We decided to go to the Coach and Horses, as it’s recently opened under new management. We were not disappointed. Everything from the service to the atmosphere to the politeness of staff was spot on. What can I say about the chef? The food was absolutely incredible. The burger was literally the nicest burger I’ve ever had. All six of us commented on the food as it was literally amazing. Highly recommend this pub, we’ve already booked to come back next week!!

This pub is under new ownership and everything about our visit was 5 Star!! The staff were polite, friendly and welcoming - 5 Star!! The ambience of the pub - 5 Star!! The beer choice (would recommend the Timothy Taylor) - 5 Star!! The Food!!!!! - 5 Star!! We had the Gammon (with two fresh eggs), the Liver and Bacon (not a 'pipe' in sight) and the Pie of the week which was beautifully cooked steak with the exact amount of Stilton .... only minor point was that the pie and liver meals could each have fed two, so be hungry when you get there :-D .... and finally THE CHIPS!!!! omg, omg, omg ... perfectly crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside! This pub deserves to succeed and we'll certainly be back to help:-D

I came in from London,my second time at this lovely ,cosy,friendly pub,Christmas day was wonderfull,relaxing,plentifull,and delicious,I ate for England,staff,were polite,and helpfull,and food always consistently good.much recommended.

me and my girlfriend had xmas lunch and what can i say it was very well done,professionally done and not rushed between courses and would definetly recommend this cosy countryside pub anything of the year with a good spread of food.with various music bands going on throughout the year.you will not be dissappointed in any way and would give this place more than 5 stars

We had jyst walked out of a pub in The Langton's after being served a awful festive Xmas lunch ...would not touch it ...driving back home passed Coach & Horses & they were still serving food ...such a warm welcome from a lovely bar lady ...couldn't be more helpful as by then we were really hungry !!! Had fish n chips & homemade tartre sauce ...all very tasty & then sticky toffee pud !! Hunger definitely satisfied ...we paid & left ...Really friendly pub & all down to earth ...We were really looking forward to our festive lunch at the first pub ...which had been booked for two weeks ...so disappointing...but Coach & Horses saved the day !!

Hubby and I had a delicious evening meal; a main and dessert each. Could highly recommend, very tasty, perfectly cooked and presented. Head and shoulders above your usual pub food. Staff friendly and attentive too. We'll be back for more 5* food.

Top beer, top service, top company, well recommended

We went in out of the rain due to the proximity to where we'd spent the day. We were so pleased we found it and I am certain it will now be a family favourite. Delicious food. Friendly helpful staff. Relaxed atmosphere. I could not fault them. The prices are really reasonable. Amazing! One of the best pub lunches I have ever eaten!

We had a team meal here a few weeks ago and it was lovely. The food was absolutely delicious and great value for money. It was lovely visiting another local business and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend the goat cheese risotto.

One of the best pub lunches we have ever had. Great ale and the food was superb. The chips and onion rings are incredible. The sausages are a brilliant quality, the scampi was amazing with homemade tartare sauce. The service was so friendly, it’s well priced and the icing on the top is that it is dog friendly.

Great food and atmosphere, this is my new local

If I could have given zero I would for food at lunchtime. I had lasagne and asked for side salad to be changed for chips. When Bill arrived charged £12.00 for 3 inch square lasagne and £3.00 for the chips when questioned said side order not replacement? What happened to my salad. So £15.00 for a meal that was a waste of money. Partner had plowman lunch had to ask for more bread and butter not provided . Not enough to fill you up I would give this place a miss if you are looking for quality and value for money.

Real interesting proper old fashioned pub. Delighted to see Bass on draught and rally enjoyed all the nooks and crannies. Just a proper pub really. Situated on the worlds oldest bypass!!

Amazing staff, amazing food and an amazing atmosphere! I have been fortunate enough to see what a wonderful pub this has become under the ownership of Neil and management of Phil. You are always made to feel very welcome and other customers are extremely friendly. With sports on regularly, plenty of space to find a seat and an excellent menu cooked by excellent chefs this is the model of what other pubs should aspire to be.

Great food however not cheap £130 for 4 people incl one drink each.

Called in to feed 4 hungry technicians in the hope they served decent food this evening and weren't booked up solid. We were in luck on both counts! All 4 of us chose something different off the fairly decent and varied menu, all 4 of us were really hungry when we walked in, all 4 of us were happy with our choices and fully satisfied when we left an hour or so later. Shame we were too full to contemplate having a dessert! Nice friendly people, good honest food. What's not to like, easily 5 stars. Best bit was the boss paid the bill! Happy days. 😊

Absolutely fabulous, have been several times but today 25 June, had the best ploughmans ever and have had many, well done the chef who I believe didn't want to do any. Chef must have done his time at Claridges.

The Landlord is the best I have ever come across and I have travelled a lot. This guy is on the ball and because of this I will return. Great beer too.

Went today for a walk in the village and some food in the coach and horses my wife had beef Madras which looked at tasted delicious,I had the fish and chips,mushy peas and bread and butter absolutely fantastic will be back again soon thanks.

In this strange time we missed going out for breakfast and looked for local pubs and restaurants that were offering takeaway food, I came across The Coach and Horses on Facebook and there menu is just fantastic with lots of choices at very reasonable prices....
