We had an excellent meal on a very quiet Tuesday evening. Took advantage of the Gourmet night deal which was very good value at £14.95 per person. It would have been nicer if there more diners but service was friendly and efficient. We'll see be back!

Always a delight and really good food, staff always friendly and chatty, when it’s hot they always offer me a drink for free whilst I’m waiting for me food if I arrive early, never had a bad meal from here, so affordable and better priced if you order direct from their website and not from the just eat app, I always collect as it’s only takes a couple of minutes for me to get there I seriously can’t complain about anything from getting a takeaway from this place. Highly recommended from our family!

We just completed a HUGE takeaway order with them for 18 people. Very generous helpings, v friendly service on collection, lovely food , extra food too, yum! Not a single item was missing from the order either. Thank you. We will be back

THE NEW OWNERS ARE HORRIBLE - The man was very blunt on the phone and rude while we were making the order, we checked it while the delivery driver was still here thank god as we was missing half the order, when we rang up to say he said it was in fact all there and we were wrong so we put the delivery driver on the phone to tell him exactly what was unpackaged in front of her and that things were indeed missing, at first he was dismissive of her thinking she was a customer before he realised who she was aswell 😅 he then offered no discount and wanted further money for what was missing from the order, in what world one chicken biryani and a curry is £25 alone I have no idea but he then wanted more for the rest. We ended up saying to sod it and gave the food back to the delivery driver and took the money back. We live and work in a public house and a whole room full of our regulars heard how rude this man was (the phone was on speaker because my mum is hard of hearing) and all of them have said they will never order from you again or ever try you because of how disgusting your attitude was to a paying customer. You could have gave us a discount and been polite about it when it was your mistake and made atleast some money but instead now you’ve got to put food in the bin and make nothing, also you’ve made yourself known to a whole room of people who like to go out to eat in the area as rude and undeserving of their business… as someone who has worked in the public sector for years you’ve not got good business sense 😅

Tonight was the final time I will eat at this restaurant. The service was appalling so slow it was ridiculous, some of the food was cold and had got sent back twice. Lastly after adding up what we paid and what the bill actually came to it turned out we were overcharged by just over £16. The manager then said we could have the money back or he can keep it as a tip, due to half of my party had paid and left already, we decided to let him keep the money but we will not go to the Clifton Cuisine again.

Lovely meal at the Clifton Cuisine last night - delicious food as well as quick and attentive service. Good value for money. They also make a fabulous Irish coffee!

Food is avaerage(saying that being an Indian). They charge you even for the chutney for papadum which someone hardly use which I think it's not fair. I hope you can discover better options.

One of the best Indian meals I've ever had. Has heard good things so decided to give it a go. Keema and cheese naan is by far the best naan bread I've had. Always left disappointed by cheese naans fo find no cheese visible on the bread whereas this had a GENEROUS amount melted and sandwiched in the middle. Mushroom rice was amazing and the main dishes delicious. Our new favourite and future go to

Went this afternoon with my mum and nephew. The food was really nice and the waiters were friendly. I asked for a vegetarian dish not on the menu and they made it for me. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back again soon. Good value for money and an enjoyable afternoon out.

Luke warm and oily food, missing items in order, rude staff, Avoid.

This place is tired and dated and looks like it hasn’t been re-decorated/refurbished for donkeys years. The walls and skirting boards are covered in marks. We struggled to find a chair that was clean enough to sit on as they were all stained. Service was bad right from the telephone enquiry regarding booking. The girl was so rude that my daughter put the phone down. Service in the restaurant was no better. Drinks order was taken quickly but despite only waiting a short time the girl placed all the drinks in the wrong places. We then waited over half an hour for our food order to be taken and that was only because I had to work hard to get anyone’s attention. The older man was miserable and unwilling to make a slight adjustment to one of the dishes. He also got our order wrong and when our food arrived he had ordered a dish too many. We returned the dish but were still charged when the bill arrived. All the three fizzy drinks were flat so we asked for them to be changed. We witnessed them pouring replacement drinks out of the same Morrison’s cola bottle so again the drinks were flat. They were replaced again eventually using a new bottle. I am sure it says “Coke” on the menu so not as advertised. We were then charged for the returned drinks on the bill.Cobra was good though. We all enjoyed our food except the lamb dopiaza which was swimming in ghee/oil which was disgusting and so was left. By this time we couldn’t be bothered saying anything as we just wanted to go home. To sum up, bad slow service, flat drinks, over ordered, dirty chairs/walls and overcharged by over £30.

Quality is brilliant, food is delicious, timing was perfect, cost is really good, I've got a feast for 2 and some leftovers for just over £20. Really impressed. Also the delivery driver was very softly spoken and nice.

I had a food delivery from here. I ordered a starter Chef’s special, it was really not nice , some kind of pancake came in a plastic bag, it was pure grease , soggy it was just awful. Roti was lovely, Balti was nice , special fried rice to greasy. That was last year but 2022 food is brilliant .I took a group there a few times and food has been excellent, service was great and staff lovely

I have used this title as I ordered a takeaway to be delivered. I have been vegetarian for over 40 years and was disappointed that instead of the vegetarian meal I had ordered, a meat one was delivered. I found this out too late and had already dished it up onto my rice and other side dishes - I also took a mouthful before realising the mistake and felt physically sick. I rang the restaurant who, admittedly, offered to send me the correct curry but by this time I felt so ill I did not want to eat anything. I requested a refund but was told that as I had paid online they would not/could not refund me!!! I was not impressed and said as much - to be told "sorry, it's human error - what do you want me to do? Mistakes happen!!!" Yes, mistakes do happen but the way you deal with them is key, however, as much as it upset and disgusted me to be given meat, at least I am not an allergy sufferer - this sort of "mistake" could have ended in horrific circumstances. Also they advertise as "vegetarian friendly" - certainly not the case which I experienced!! I am extremely disappointed with the customer service - I have used this restaurant many times and always enjoyed the food so to be dealt with so bluntly and indifferently was extremely poor and unprofessional. I do not understand why I could not get a refund. My whole meal was ruined. I think the staff definitely need to sign up to charm school!!

We ate at the clifton cuisine this evening, the food was outstanding as it always was under the previous owners but the service was below par. No interaction from the staff, after we finished our main course we waited for 20 minutes for someone to ask us if we would like dessert or coffee but instead the waiters were busy chatting together, in the end we paid and left. Four scored for food quality.

In my opinion, this is the best curry house in the local area. I’ve been here twice now and both times the meals have been outstanding.

Haven't been to Clifton Cuisine for a long time as I found food pretty average, Butt now it's under new management. Food tasty, good size portions, great value for money. Friendly service ... Only one criticism, and of course its my own personal taste..the decor needs re thinking!

First time delivery. Really nice food, excellent choice, good portions. Thoroughly enjoyed. Our only complaint would be we ordered for delivery close to 1840 but it came at 1800. Early is better than late but we weren't ready for it which caused us a few problems.

This is my local, and I consider it the best in the area. Aloo Dhan or Tandoori Naga are my go to dishes. But everything is good. 😌

Food was good and tasty & good atmosphere! Service time was slow, they only had 2 peoples at the front! The lady waitress is friendly and sweet.

We booked for a Weds evening to take advantage of their “gourmet night” deal so our meal was, not only delicious, but really good value too. The poppadoms were nice and warm when they reached our table and the pickle selection was varied with 8 different pickles, accompaniments and fresh onions that could be mixed & matched perfectly. Our starter was prawn puri, crammed full with prawns and the puri was delicious & light. Mains was also really good, so many options to choose from with classic curries and some of their own specials, something for everyone. We were impressed by the food but also by the friendly service. We really were made welcome and would definitely recommend the Clifton for anyone who is after a good Indian meal in a place with a comfortable and convivial atmosphere.

What a terrible takeaway, not sure where to start as only the poppadoms were edible. The duck had never seen a tandoori, the side dish was like a dish of mush and contained items to bulk it up, the sheek kebab was "swimming" in mushy onions which appeared to have been boiled, the chat was so salty I think the water came from the dead sea, by far the worst "indian" meal ever.

Outstanding customer service. From the phone order, good natured and honest. The courtesy call to inform me of a delay, to the delicious meal. Clifton go above and beyond, highly recommend.

We live in Stevenage and used this a couple of Saturdays ago. The food was lovely, it is clean, comfortable and run by an amazing family. Glad we had the opportunity before the second lockdown. When you can give it a go, you won’t be dissatisfied 😀😀

Been going to the Clifton Cuisine for years. our number one choice for birthdays, celebrations or just for getting some very high quality tasty food cooked by Raj. The front of house are so friendly and give a warm welcome and immaculate service. BTW: they must have a crystal ball @nadinedorries as this local business in your constituency predicted the lockdown two weeks ago.

Great food, always enjoy it! However if you order the same thing a few days or weeks apart it will be different. Always tasty but never know what you're going to get.Lovely friendly staff, always nice to see them. Love this Indian restaurant, we try to either eat here or takeaway whenever we’re in the vicinity and this time it was a takeaway.They’re a very friendly bunch and spotted us waiting in the car park behind the restaurant on their cctv and came out to tell us it was ready a few minutes early. We ordered chicken dhansak, chicken jalfreizi and spicy chicken korma along with onion bhajis, bombay potatoes and naan bread.I must admit that it was a tad too spicy for our taste but the quality of the ingredients was excellent and you could argue that we ordered the wrong dishes, certainly every Indian is different as far as heat is concerned. We still managed to eat it all, just very slowly and with iced glasses of milk.We look forward to the next time we get an opportunity to return, there isn’t an Indian in Stevenage that comes anywhere close (so if your looking for a larger audience...).

Will be speaking to the manager regarding why my mother got turned away 20 minutes to closing the kitchen, laziness and very disrespectful towards customers! Lost a customer that were very excited to come dine at you restaurant, what a disappointment!

We often have takeaways from here and they are always exceptional. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is always of a good standard.

From start to finish I can’t complain about this restaurant. During what was a really busy Saturday evening these guys worked like Trojan’s. covid 19 measures in place and felt so at ease with all the precautions in place . Staff are in full PPE and are constantly sanitising and washing there hands . We were sat in full view of the bar area so watched all the safety precautions they are taking . Food was amazing and service wasn’t rushed, it was nice and relaxed for us but these guys know how to run their restaurant like clock work . Paneer makhani was delicious. King prawn biryani has lots of flavour to it . Once again we’ve had an enjoyable evening at the Clifton cuisine.

Clifton cuisine made clear instructions for following Covid guidelines, all customers sanitising hands, staff wearing masks all guests at least two meters apart. Staff so welcoming and friendly. Great atmosphere. Really friendly staff. Food was absolutely amazing. Tasted so fresh and fantastic flavours. We have never tasted such flavoursome Indian cuisine. The chef’s special starter was out of this world. Highly recommend.

I & my son & nice had a great tasting ample meal. I was pleased that as we arrived we were asked to wash our hands or use the sanitizer. The tables were occupied only every second. The menus were obviously sanitizer. I thank you for your proactive approach at caring about our health

Great Asian cuisine, wonderful staff

I came in with my husband and my uncle to celebrate my uncles birthday. The food was excellent. It came quickly and was piping hot. Portion sizes were a good size. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Great knowledge on the menu when asked. They looked after my uncle really well and it is without a doubt the best Indian around. Gourmet nights are well worth it. Great value for money.

We rarely use any other Indian restaurant locally as the service and food is consistently good and so it was the natural choice for a family gathering of 12 persons for my sons birthday.As our age range was quite diverse i had an idea on an Indian takeaway and called in to discuss with Raj and tell him what I wanted or so i thought!Raj basically took over my careful, if not misjudged ideas and told me what I needed!!! as he then went on to design the whole evening meal.I said nothing and paid, trusting if not a little nervous in the choicesArranged to collect the meal and it was straight out of the kitchen and straight into my car, the main dishes in large stainless steel pots (which kept the food very hot) that where loaned to us.At home straight out of the car onto the table and wow!!!!Everything was right....The food was simply amazing, fresh, tasty and yes he was 100% correct with the choice of dishes, potion sizes...well everything!!I can only say it was absolutely brilliant and really made the family meal with everybody commenting on the food and its qualityIn closing, many thanks to Raj and his team for making it a very pleasant celebration

Four of us ate here last weekend, just to try something different outside of Hitchin. We were blown away . . .Amazing menu, with loads of dishes that are different from the 'standard' Indian range (but still with all the classics). I'm not going to go on about all the different dishes - think that's covered by other reviews - but we all loved everything we ordered.The main thing that stood out to us was the staff - it's a long-standing family business, and they clearly care about getting everything right and making everyone feel welcome. For example, it was a busy night, but one of the main waiters gave us at least 15 minutes, talking through the unusual dishes, helping us make (and customise) our choices. The restaurant conjured up an extensive, separate vegan menu and explained the gluten-free options for the one awkward person in our group (me) . . . and then created a different vegan, GF option that wasn't listed :).All fab, and we've already booked to go again - can't wait, and we'll be highly recommending to anyone who wants a really special, fun night out.

Just moved to the area , popped in for a Takeaway . Delicious chicken Bhuna . Booked a table for Saturday evening , no problems at all . Staff super friendly , food delicious , each of us had a different meat so we could share . Sea bass tawa was cooked delicately, great flavour . Chicken was moist and not over cooked . Lamb just fell apart so tender ! Biggest king prawns I've ever seen and the duck was melt in the mouth !!! So good we ordered another dish to takeaway with us to freeze !!!! Naans crispy , chutneys tasty ! Great job guys ! Service was quick considering the phones was constantly ringing and the place was full !!!!

Came here on Friday with my partner after several friends had recommended we give Clifton cuisine a try. Safe to say we were not disappointed, service with a smile, good assortment of chutneys with papadoms and piping hot curries what more could you ask for. I chose to have the masala roast lamb and I couldn't fault it, the lamb itself was lightly spiced and was perfectly cooked aswell as soft, the choices of rice, sides and bread were impressive too. I wish nothing but success onwards and upwards for Clifton cuisine, this restaurant is great for if you fancy a dinner for two or a family meal as they make sure everyone is taken care of, Thank you for an excellent meal.

Having been to this Restrurant many times with a group for a works meal I was extremely disappointment with the quality of the food this week.

We are lucky enough to live in walking distance of this restaurant we regularly have takeaways it is always ready at the time they tell you to collect. We have dined in several times and the food, service and cost is always spot on. From your first visit they greet you with the warmth of an old friend. This restaurant has been in the village for many years and it’s easy to see why they continue to have great success and fully booked tables. For lovers of Indian food and great service visiting this place is a must.

I recently called to inquire about ordering with a dairy allergy, the staff were extremely helpful and polite when talking me through options. I felt safe ordering from them. Would absolutely recommend to anyone ordering with an allergy, this will now be number one go to!
