Classic Fish Bar Brynmawr in Blaenau Gwent

I have to say this is the most welcoming fish and chip shop in the area by far, food delicious and fresh and the staff are amazing big shout out the Sophie and millie today and also emma and T amazing happy girls x

My opinion it was some food and fresh but it took to long but nice staff will definitely be going again x

Chips a lovely, battered sausage was also really nice - stayed crispy despite the drive home. The staff were also very polite and efficient!

Fav part is the ice cream machine! Can't find an ice cream van anywhere but there is one here (along with a slushy machine and other desserts and drinks) and it's great! Staff are lovely as well, food is classic chip shop which is nice :)

Amazing food recommended by a member of staff I had Irish curry and rice loved it. Every time I go there they put smile on my face highly recommend ❤️

Absolutely terrible service over the phone today! Phone today to place an order and was promptly told that if I wanted my order, I should’ve phoned yesterday! You should really train your staff to have proper manners and respect other people!

Cod dips are generous portions. Grandchildren love the chicken nuggets £2.50 for 5 chunky 100%chocken breast nuggets which are tasty. The small portions were enough to split between us all. Food was fresh there is a good menu selection on the wall which is reasonably priced, but also look on the counter top by the door they are also serving. samosas, garlic mushrooms, mozzarella sticks etc There are two entrances to the shop the rear entrance is flat and wheelchair accessible. Front entrance has one low step. Limited seating in shop to eat in. Suitable for children. Not suitable for vegan options as meats are cooked in the same oil. Parking available in street outside. Overall a great takeaway with friendly staff and no doubt will be back in the future.

Came in the other week for a chip roll, was parked down asda eating it, almost finished it all when I looked down at the roll and it was full of mould, took it straight back up the shop, and the 2 girls couldn't apologise enough, they gave me the 2 pounds odd bk, but to be honest not at all happy, made me sick all evening

Very disappointed! Happy to wait for the cod to be freshly cooked but it wasn't as good as it used to be. I also ordered a fish cake and a pasty and the fishcake wasn't even in there when I got home. Done out of £2. Won't be going again!

First time coming here, wont be returning, as asked for a tray of chips and fruity curry, and ended up with a handfull of chips and about 10 scoops of curry, chips were drowning in them, and half a tub of salt on them to. Plus my boyfriends sausage in batterlooked lije it was madr b4 the shop first opened very NASTY In reply to mark stephans, it was on Sunday evening at around 5.45, i was served by a young girl. I do appreciate your reply, nd would be very grateful for a refund, as i dont fancy trying another meal, as i did not enjoy it the first time. Thanks

New to the area, we called in for some food. Sadly it will be the last time. The chips we're greasy beyond belief and woefully undercooked. The fishcake was soggy and full of grease. The only thing salvageable was the pie and who could possibly get that wrong?! I have given it 1star as it was easy to park just a few yards up the rd and the place looked clean enough.

I just love this food! A good ol' fish and chips? Don't mind if I do! The taste is just so good, and I love everything about it. I mean, it is a fish bar but I normally have chips, sausage in batter and gravy. Best combo if you ask me 😍 This store is amazing, and has good and quick service. Worth the visit if you're hungry!
