Clancys Vegetarian Emporium in Cardiff

This place is a real gem in the city centre. There’s a wide array of spices, germs and teas- so many it was hard to choose what to get. The lady who served me was very smiley and helpful so will definitely come back when next in the city.

Loved the shop in cardiff market. bought few different varieties of tea and spices. the teas are amazing ! I wish to try the other varieties of tea as well. good quality stuff

Smack in the middle of the Victorian Central Market is Cancys Vegetarian Emporium. A huge range of veg and vegan choices, the Scotch Egg less are sim;ly amazing. Plus an amazing range of other snacks and wraps at very good prices.

Great little stall in Cardiff Market offering vegan/vege snacks and a huge range of spices. The vegan snacks, especially the "Scotch Eggless" are all amazing. Samosa's are doubleplusgood too. There's usually a big queue and a bit of a wait but well worth it. Get there as early as you can on a Saturday because they can sell out.

I love Clancy's..I should really take my own lunch to work but the falafel wraps are so good, service is always warm and friendly..exactly what you'd expect from vegans. They might be a little slow sometimes but they seem to put a bit of love into everything they do and ive learned to practice a bit of mindfulness in the que while I wait. Always a pleasure, the Daal is fantastic too and the 3 bean chilli is sensational.

How lucky Cardiff vegans are to have this diamond in the city centre. Lots of choices to tempt you, the pasties are divine. A must!

This shop is tucked away in Central Cardiff. I bought Vegan food .When I couldn't see it available locally. And on a visit to the city .

I love Clancy's food, and i'm not vegetarian/vegan. My girlfriend is, and we both buy their food regularly. Great option for a healthy snack or lunch. The best place to buy spices too!

Definitely need to try Clancy's Maca and goji berry cake/bar! Anytime i'm passing the market I buy one of these and their smoked paprika, holloumi and onion chutney sandwich! Simply, truly amazing! Staff are always really friendly! Not a bad complaint or a negative thing to say! I love it here!

Me and my partner were looking for something to kill a sweet tooth we had been craving for ages since quitting refined sugars. We opted for (I can't remember the names) but the cacao bar and peanut/ peanut butter one which were both INSANELY GOOD! like so so so so good! Wish i had the recipe! (If i had it then it would be dangerous as i would snack on these all day otherwise) The Dahl that was cooking smelt insanely good as well!

I've recently adopted a Vegan diet and have been seeing what options are available in the city centre for my lunch break. This was my second time trying to find it (It's in the middle of the market, ground floor, under the clock). I had a bowl of Lentil Dahl with Naan bread and I also bought a couple of Jamaican patties for later (like pasties). Both things I bought were great. I'd like to emphasize what other reviews have said - there is nothing pretentious or snobby about Clancy's, the staff are very friendly. The Dahl was very comforting for such a cold December day and not expensive, which a lot of veggie/vegan food often is. I'm going to go there for lunch again soon.

I love this stall! It’s the best place in Cardiff to buy herbs and spices. Their food is also very good - the halloumi burger, Jamaican pasty and Moroccan pasty. Worth queuing for!

Wonderful little vegetarian/vegan stall in Cardiff Market. I have sampled both the Lentil Dhal and Falafel wrap - delicious and very reasonably priced! Always a queue for these guys... cannot recommend enough!

Excellent 'vegan' sausage rolls, chimichangas and breaded halloumi to name a few of the delicious items Clancy's have to offer. Their specials are often winners so give them a try if they have any when you visit.

I sought out Clancys for a quick lunch on a short visit to Cardiff and I'm glad I did! I had half a vegan scotch eggless, and I don't know what was in it but it was so good, as was the vegan sausage roll, with the vegan sausage encased in lovely pastry. Yummy lunch for £3.50! If ever in Cardiff again I'll definitely be back.

I pretty much always grab something for my lunch from clancys when I'm in town working. They serve the best selection of vegan pasties, and snacks I have ever tasted!! They also have a great selection of herbs and spices to buy from. I've been a customer for a good 2 years now and will stick with them!! Loveliest people ever as well!

This stall in Cardiff Market is a game-changer and I hope the humble staff are aware of their magnitude.

Mejor Chole que he tenido. - El realmente increíble opción a un precio razonable es realmente chole, siempre me mantiene tan completo. Normalmente una climatizada halloumi así - slammer serie muy sabroso a dunk.

This place is a real hidden gem. Right in the middle of Cardiff indoor market. Easily accessible on the ground floor. Clancy's serve some wonderful snacks and meals. Their chef creates some wonderful food items which are really "different". There are meals you can take away and eat straight away, meals and items you can take home to re-heat or cook / combine into a larger meal. And they have a superb collection of ingredients for your "inner chef". They also stock a huge, mind-blowing array of herbs & spices, and if you like to add exotic, tasty ingredients - you will feel like a kid in a sweet shop. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable - ask them anything about cooking, bakery or adding flavour or excitement to your meal. Although Clancy's is an excellent vegetarian / vegan establishment, there's plenty here for those (like me) who also eat some meat. Cardiff Indoor market is well worth a visit anyway, particularly for its' food stalls - but Clancy's is the gem among them. Try one of their Haloumi and Roasted Red Onion Chutney rolls - delicious. Or one of their nut roasts, or Beetroot Bombs. And don't get me started on their deserts! It's also very reasonably priced indeed. Highly recommended. 11 out of 10 I'd say.

Really good selection of veggie and vegan goodies with gluten free options too. got a falafal wrap and halloumi slammer and all it came to was little more than a fiver!

My daughter and I visited Cardiff market yesterday and were delighted to find a stall that serves vegan and gluten free food. The food was extremely tasty and the service was outstanding. I will be returning as soon as possible.

Great variety of snacks, pakoras, potato bombs, wraps etc. Selection of dried herbs and spices available for your home cooking. Don't go to the 'chains' for your snack-food - get a tasty hearty meal in Clancys.

Visited Clancy's for lunch while staying in Cardiff for a conference. Wanted to try some local food rather than a chain coffee shop panini and certainly wasn't disappointed in my choice. I ordered the falafel wrap which came heated with houmous, slaw and salad, at a really incredible price under £3. Planned to eat it when I got back to work but it was already gone on the walk back.. Also grabbed a homemade raw cocoa orange and cashew bar. This bar was enormous, similar to a nakd bar and definitely just as tasty but so much better value! The food really was great and I could tell by the queue that this is a regular lunchtime choice for many. They also had an amazing array of vegan and health food products on sale which I would've loved to spend more time browsing if I had time. Highly recommend checking this place out for a snack or lunch.

If you feel like a tasty tasty vegan snack,or veg, or maybe you've got guests coming over and you don't feel like cooking up a spread of delights. Head here, delicious daily fresh Dahl, and gorgeous yummy samosas, falafals, pakora of my FAVES and splendid array of spices for that recipe that just a little bit of....ask and they shall provide.I'm partial to their vegan wrap Such helpful patient people work here.Lunch times there can be a queue. But have faith with their serving skills. You won't be in the queue for long I promise. No one is rushed

This place is truly magnificent. It's excellent if you're veggie or vegan but even if you're not you wouldn't be disappointed. The dahl and falafel wraps are excellent (and not at all expensive) and there's so many other bits to choose from - my favourite being the vegan sausage rolls, veg samosas and the halloumi slammers. They also do other bits to keep in such as veggie haggis and vegan black pudding (which is amazing). They've a wide range of spices, etc and they're super friendly with reasonable prices. Can't go wrong.

Clancys is the bomb. I have literally nothing bad to say about the place whatsoever! I shop here for all of my herbs, spices etc. The veggie scotch egg and halloumi slammers are utterly addictive. It is veggie heaven. Expect to queue sometimes though. Very popular!

Best place for affordable & delicious vegan & vegetarian food in central Cardiff! I've been there far too many times, but the food is consistently good, as are the prices. Can't believe I lived in Cardiff for years before discovering this gem. They often sell out on busy days and be prepared for a queue at lunch time. The spices are also great and very flavourful. Friendly service. No seating area as its in Cardiff central market, but there is a small park with benches outside the market if you want to sit.

This place is great. The falafel and salsas are excellent. They carry a wide range of spices which are very fresh as well as good value. It's no wonder they always have a queue

This is a fantastic place to get filling vegan food - I often come here for lunch. It is healthy and actually much cheaper than many other places.Lovely lentil dhal, falafel wrap (both less than £2.50) and I highly recommend the vegan bounty bar!They have a really wide range of spices as well as snacks. Great service too.

This market stall is a hidden gem. Deep within Cardiff Market it is easy to miss this unassuming stall as its only marketing presence is a small wooden sign. To the dedicated vegan and vegetarian this is a treat but the food on offer is also superb for those who like to eat healthier. It's only let down (believe it or not) is its popularity results in frequent queues. Service is very relaxed (very chilled actually) and the owners / stall holders will not rush for anyone! So during lunchtime prepare to wait a while but trust me it's worth the time as the standard of food; choice and taste is worth it

Cardiff market is such a gorgeous building. This stall is my favourite from some grand choices. The food is delicious and extremely reasonably priced. There's always something different to try and the service is excellent. Get the dahl and scoff it in the little park area outside. Lovely!

Excellent although limited selection of vegetarian and vegan food.some unusual drinks which were very pleasant.Lots of brilliant flavourings and great sweet and savoury homemade delights.Staff were very good although talking to someone else whilst serving me.Useful find for my recently converted vegetarian living in Cardiff.

- Service is so genuine and down to earth.- Snacks are savoury (garlic+chilli potato balls, halloumi slammers etc) or sweet (vegan bounty, raw choc peach cupcakes)- The meal options (normally lentil dahl or falafel wrap) are the basis of a strong lunch- Everything is super fresh, mega tasty and really healthy- Massive herb and spice selection - fill your boots! Get cookin'. - Eat your food upstairs in the market or my face spot is in the park by the old library

Really liked this place, the lunch was great and sensational friendly service. Offering me the ability to try the hotter chilli in the world, of which we did for sure.

Me and my partner came across this place as we visited Cardiff. We could not find any places near by that did vegan breakfasts so we came here instead and were pleasantly pleased with our purchases. Nice tasty and healthy vegan food for us to be on our way!

I love Clancys and often make a trip to town just to stock up on various vegan food. Their samosas, nut roasts, superfood bakes and bharjis are my favourite. Perfect to eat fresh or freeze for future use. They will even warm up the food for you if you are buying to eat straight away.They have dessert options including raw chocolate cups, raw cheesecakes and bounty bars which I am yet to try but look forward to!They also sell a wide variety of different spices and superfoods. Its a great place to visit even if you are not a vegetarian as the food is outstanding regardless. Highly recommend!

Lovely streetfood stall in Cardiff Market. There's a nice park nearby where you can eat your food. Also a spice and herb shop. Love it.

Buried in the heart of Cardiff Market, is this superb little shop hosting a wide range of ethically sourced flavours at an outstanding value for money. My partner is addicted to the vegan scotch eggs but I am still working my way through everything else. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable too. Highly recommended for a quick lunch break.

Being a vegetarian with a love of spicy food I was so pleased to discover this wonderful stall in Cardiff Indoor Market.The food is all great. For a small(ish) stall they have a great variety of savoury and sweet items. All are vegetarian or vegan, very tasty, and amazingly well priced. The dhal with naan bread is my personal favourite. It's wonderfully tasty and totally addictive, and like all their food items, is brilliant value too.The service is so friendly and diligent that it is always a pleasure to visit - even when there is a queue. (Sara's smile is worth the visit in itself!)They also only use biodegradable/compostable consumables - including the cutlery - which is so highly commendable whilst keeping costs low. For a small, independent company to lead the way is just perfect - in this day and age when so many large corporates are still sticking with the cheap but ethically corrupt plastic options.Whenever I am in the area I will be going back here for all these reasons, oh yes, and for the amazing range of spices which are hand measured and sold with great expertise too. Try adding a tiny pinch of Carolina Reaper chilli to the dhal - it's too hot for some, but I love it!Well done on a truly brilliant venture, and I wish it every success

I come here primarily for the spices. There are organic, vegan, vegetarian choices. Delicious homemade pies, raw treats and vegan chocolate available and good prices.

An incredible assortment of dried chillies and powders for the discerning chilli-head. Cardiff has needed an outlet like this for years. They also stock mild stuff. ;-)

A fantastic, small stall in the heart of Cardiff Market. As well as selling a wide and extensive range of spices, seeds, and seasonings, Clancy's also serves fantastic, fresh vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free hot and cold snacks to take away. I've visited twice and can recommend the vegetable chilli and cheese chimichangas, the falafel wraps, and the homemade "Bounty" bars. I'll be going again, and can't wait to try the other items on their menu.The staff are great, the service is quick, and the prices are low. Consider this place if you're after a quick bite to eat in the heart of Cardiff.

I literally stumbled across this place on our pilgrimage to the fresh welsh cake stall at the indoor market- kids love coming here to see the sights, fresh fish complete with eyes, records, pets and books, welsh cakes and now this place- had a type of curried lentil pie which was far nicer than I've described it, lovely and fresh tasting, good service, clean and reasonably priced- will return ASAP!

I've been working in Cardiff City Centre and Clancy's is a great place to grab your lunch from. Very cheap and very tasty. I am a carnivore but I've visited it every day for my lunch and I can heartily vouch for the Spanikopita, Cheesy chilli chimichenga and the mushroom,butterbean, ale and chestnut pie, all delicious and all under £2 each. Then to assuage any thoughts of healthy-ness pop round the corner and grab yourself a pile of welsh-cakes. Big plus all in a lovely covered market.

A wonderful food stall serving homemade vegan produce with the most wonderful selection of herbs and spices. We particularly liked the roasted spices that were created to produce a Caribbean style curry powder. The chia seeds, banana and raw chocolate slice is gorgeous - highly recommended.I will be visiting this every time I go into to town to see what beautiful food is on offer.

This is a small stall in the centre of Cardiff Market, but it has a fantastic range of fresh and well prepared unusual takeaway food, such as dukka with dipping oil, veggie chilli chimichanga, roast veg & quorn lasagna, and sweet potato, pecan and bean burgers, as well as potato balls, pakoras samosas, drinks, and more. They also have a good selection of loose herbs, and the woman who runs it is very friendly and helpful.
