Exceptional pizza for the UK. Especially the Detroit slices.

One star is also a lot. Unfortunately for us we ordered by selecting a pizza with spicy salami from the window only to then discover that honey and parsley had been added... honey in the pizza... I don't know how anyone could think of such a thing!!!. Needless to say, it was inedible and from what we saw at another table we weren't the only ones who left it on their plate.

The blonde girl was a maths genius, totally made our day and deserves a raise if you ask me

We visited because of a vlogger. I was stoked to eat a good slice. I was disappointed. It was confusing to know if we should wait outside or come inside. It turns out that take out orders stand out but eat in should come in despite the sign on the door. We ordered a whole pizza. The bottom was soggy and tore apart when trying to remove it from the pan. I think it needed another minute or two in the pizza oven. I wouldn't try it again.

Pizza was below par, burnt and barely any topping. Also why is it cheaper to buy 4x slices of a 20" pizza than buying the whole thing?

Huge slices and portions of delicious food. The staff are great and the vibes are immaculate. They didn't have my first choice on the menu, but I can't fault them for their popularity to be fair. Got the Italian sausage pizza and seasoned fries. Will be back for more! Thanks folks!

14" pizza ready in 10mins as they said it would be, nice buzz about the place, but on opening the box found the pizza was completely charred on the bottom, the top partly burnt, only the top mostly edible and not worth an expensive £17. High prices should come with quality checks before delivery, and I would probably have understood being asked to wait another 10mins if the first pizza was deemed below acceptable standard.

Quality little venue for a quick and easy bite to eat. Good variety of slices and pies - the ones I had were very nice and definitely more than enough for one person, maybe even too much depending on the person! Pepperoni and the Jalapeno/Chimichurri slices are recommended 😍👍🏾

Exceptionally poor, ordered through Deliveroo, sides turned up after an hour and a half, sides and drinks missing and the pizza itself was like a block of ice and not edible. £40 wasted.

I recommend ordering multiple slice pizzas and sharing them! Jalapeno@chimichurri was so delicious!

Went in here for lunch with my wife and 2 daughters. Is a busy place but we only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. Food is amazing, slices of pizza are massive and more than fill your plate. Staff are really friendly. Great atmosphere in the restaurant. If you like pizza would definitely recommend.

Pizza was nice, first time trying Civs and the dough was great. Atmosphere was really poor. Being made to stand outside whilst they find you a table adds to a whole feeling of not being entirely welcome here. Paper cups, plates, inattentive staff and the manager looked absolutely miserable. It seems the rest of the staff followed suit. Would take away, but would never ever sit in again.

Lovely pizza as usual! Staff were very friendly but not that attentive and service was a little slow as they seemed as if they were prioritising delivery orders. Not a problem but just be aware if you're wanting a quick in-and-out bite to eat pizza slice. Wouldn't stop me visiting again.

We placed an order for delivery at 5:10pm Wednesday 7th February. It’s 7:28pm now and it still hasn’t arrived. We were quoted 90 minutes max. Called the restaurant twice and they said there is a shortage of drivers. They shouldn’t be accepting orders then. Very disappointing as we’ve had their pizza before. It’s good but not worth an 1hr 20min wait.

Had to cancel my order and ask for a refund as delivery had taken over 2 and a half hours.

Brilliant pizza place, the music is fantastic and the staff were friendly. The pizza was incredible and the portion sizes were amazing!

Place frequented by the youth of Edinburgh. It was also delicious. The pizza is super good. The starters too. Super nice decoration.

Been a fan of civerinos for a long time and posted loads on socials raving about it. however, the treatment by the staff tonight was truly terrible. We decided to try the Thug Slice promo they have on Mondays. Showed up early at 820pm and were told to come back at 9pm. Came back at 855pm and the staff told us the seating was full and it was going to be 45 mins to the next seating. Excuse me, what? We thought the promo started at 9?? Anyway, we still waited without saying anything. At 915, the staff came out to tell us its only margaritas left. I even spoke to the waitress who told us to come back at 9 why the seating was so early when she said 9… she didn’t even apologize. Just said, “it’s first come, first served” and “we can’t reserve seats”… well 🫠 that’s why we were there at 820! We only left because we were told to 🥹🥹 Overall, really terrible service. I’ve been bringing friends here over the past 6 months but won’t come back after this.

When we arrived our grandson was asleep in his buggy. We were told we couldn't bring the buggy in unless it was folded. In this day and age this is ridiculous, there was room for a buggy inside, the girl just didn't want the bother of moving tables. Do they have the same policy for people in wheelchairs? We won't return. The food was OK but nothing special.

Girls were really bitchy vibes throwing paper plates in the table nd walking away. What do u want was the first thing said at the door on the way in. Rude is an understatement

An exceptional pizza! I had a slice of the “Big Poppa 2.0”. It was a great balance of light spice and cheesy base, the crust and base were perfectly chewy while maintaining a good crunch. Highly recommended!

This place HUGE yes. The food speaks for itself, best pizza 🍕 and the service was amazing everyone is so chill and just good vibes great atmosphere. A 14" great for 2 people.

Pizzas were fantastic and tastes fresh. Detroit style was deffo too burnt, I know what the style is supposed to be but this was too charred. Truffle chips were addictive!

The food and atmosphere is great the song choices for the place really make it feel like nyc the pizza is also great I love the different names they gave them but the service is pretty terrible if you order online don’t bother waiting for the “track my order” to update it won’t your pizza will go cold because the workers don’t bother updating it which is understandable when it’s busy but when there’s one customer inside and they are chatting away you’d at least expect for them to do such a small thing as updating it plus if you are waiting by the door they will completely ignore you they rather pack pizza in the pizza delivery bags than serve customers (there is two workers one can pack pizzas one can serve a customer it’s not that hard like) this was all in my recent experience I remember coming here for the first time and it was completely different everyone was lovely and actually tried to seem like they gave one about you (everyone at work doesn’t give one about customers but most at least try)

Wonderful food. Huge pizza slices and great fries - very filling. Staff were great. Only downside is that the venue is on the smaller side so my partner and I had staff members knocking into us whilst walking past from the kitchen. Only a minor point, we would still come back.

Decent pizza slices although one was a little burnt for my liking. Some good topping choices and decently priced. Not the best pizza I've ever had but not by any means bad and good for a quick little lunch after visiting the national museum

Negative side: I had a slice to take away. It was on a plate, so I couldn't. I got knife and fork to have it there. The bottom of the pizza was burnt to black that I hardly could cut it and it tasted like charcoal. So I couldn't even finish it. Moreover, some of the pepperonis on the top were a little bit burnt. After about 30minuts I still feel the burnt taste in my mouth. Positive points: Staff are nice and they try to help. The location is nice, however sitting outside with a massive chunky pizza that makes all over your hand oily doesn't result in the best experience. The menu has really good amount of options. I just tried to be realistic. I hope it is helpful. I didn't take photos to avoid stressing out the staff about it. Now I wish I had them though.

I’m surprised people still go here considering it failed its health inspection… I’ve tried a few pizza places around Edinburgh and this place has to be by far the worst and cheapest ingredients.

The pizza is absolutely fantastic, offering a wide variety of delicious toppings to choose from. Personally, I was so impressed with the flavoursome garlic dough knots. Plus, the portion sizes are incredibly generous, including the pizza slices

Lovely vegan pizza, so much flavour and despite being thin the crust was still soft ( never seen that before very impressive) couldn’t see the inside because I got a takeaway but I heard from a friend they use wood to bake the pizza

Great food amazing service only really come here when I'm feeling really peckish to eat such a large pizza taste amazing and always such a treat coming here as much as it's great getting a slice the whole pizza is better delight taste great menu's very well presented great service from staff and not a long waiting time between paying and ordering and receiving your food to sit in or take away I give this place 100% on every front and have already recommended it to friends who would choose dominos are now coming here instead as the food is by far on a different level and is a much better eating out experience nowhere compares to this amazing establishment!!!!!! Parking is abit tricky here as it's the city I'd say you would be better walking as parking here by the medows is super busy anytime of day d it's just a walk away from any local bus

I'm fussy as it gets when it comes to pizza, and Civerinos is worthy of the hype it gets.

The pizza still good but the staff can smile .. you should stop taking student and take person who like to work 5€ for a slide of pizza it’s expensive we can have a good service for this price Shame

The pizza here was delicious made in the stone oven 👨‍🍳😋 I loved the huge slices and they were just as advised.. Si queréis pizzas lo mas parecidas al estilo italiano este es vuestro lugar, unas pizzas riquisimas!!! He de decir que este local casi siempre suele estar lleno, lo que tenéis es que fijaros ya que suele haber dos colas, una para take away y otra para comer en el local, la de comer en el local suele ser mucho mas pequeña o incluso no suele haber.

I was really looking forward to my pizza here as I’d heard really good things but I would avoid. Pizza was cold and bland plus the staff were inattentive. To add to this I was ill the next day. Could just be a coincidence but just to advise. I would spend your money elsewhere.

We love this place - regular visitors with our three boys. The single slice is both massive and delicious, the service fantastic, the venue is small but has a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend visiting!!

You gotta get their civerino pizza because I never had this flavor in US before and it was soooo delicious! I also have the meat lover on the other side (they can only do split on the large size) but I think next time I will just get a medium civerino flavor and just eat that and be done! I did have left over for later and they are still good buteating them fresh is still better.

Nice little pizza spot, base and toppings are really nice, crust is a little bit dense which is the only thing that stops this from scoring higher.

I had heard great things about Civerinos before going there, but still was pleasantly surprised when I turned up. The 'slices' are 2 combined into 1 - Absolutely huge, so make sure you're hungry before you go! The Mac n cheese bites were incredible, too. Great veggie/vegan options for pizza - I had an eggplant/aubergine parmesan slice, which was completely vegan (vegan cheese and all). Definitely recommend.

Worst pizza I've ever had. The first time I had it it was cold and hard like it had been sitting out on display all day. Gave it another go and ordered one on Deliveroo. The thing was burnt to an absolute blackened crisp. Never again.

Very good place to have a portion of pizza and keep walking. The pace in the inside is too small and gets too busy when is full being also uncomfortable to eat and gets too warm because of the oven. The place also gets busy in the outside because of people waiting for the pizza. But after all these is 100% worth it as the pizza is amazing, the portions are big enough to get you full, and if you order the Parmesan fries as you should you’ll be more than full.

The pizzas were enormous and super yummy!We also got the truffle mayo which was sooo good. We had to wait for a while but was worth it! Especially for the price :)

If you want juicy, lovely and fresh enormous pizza slices for much cheapness then this is the place for you. I had the pepperoni pizza slice and it was HUGE The truffle and Parmesan fries are to die for - super crispy, with the most amazing crunch and flavour. Sadly we couldn’t come up with enough tummy room for the giant mozzarella stick but, like Arnie, We’ll be back !’

Great little New York pizza place in the heart of Edinburgh. The pizza slices are the size of a normal pizza for one ! Sides are excellent value also.

Very popular pizza joint. Interesting options available here. I just got 2 slices to takeaway, for £5 per slice. The Margherita and the mushroom pizzas were ok. The Margherita without basil on it was disappointing, unless they put it on my mushroom one by mistake. Either way, I don't know if I'd advise to come all the way here to try it. But it was good to try and see what the fuss was about, since I was walking by.

We are civerinos loyals, visiting about once a week and are usually greeted by staff who know us. We always order the largest pizza (extra mozzarella and big box of fries) which comes to a total of about £40. Also as a table of 2 is very small, the staff usually have no problem joining two tables together to give us some space for the food. However, on a lot of occasions and especially this time philipe (I presume the manager) has had an issue with this. We understand it’s a very busy restaurant and sometimes this may not be possible however his manner and shaking his head at us across the restaurant is very unprofessional. As this happens every time he is in, I feel we have to comment. His customer service and attitude is shocking which is a shame as it lets the rest of the lovely team down. It’s every time we come in, we get greeted nicely apart from Philipe as his facial expressions and body language is disgusting as soon as he sees us.

I just grabbed two pizza slices here during Fringe. It was delicious! Only let me tell you, you don't need two, they are massive.

This is the one piece of pizza, the best crispy Margherita I've ever had in the UK, can't wait for their Glasgow restaurant to open up soon

I’ve been coming to Civerinos Slice for about five years and the food has always been great. But I’ve found since the pandemic the service when sitting is getting worse and worse. I’m not too keen on leaving bad reviews but it’s not one bad experience it’s really quite a few now. I often feel as if you’re left with no choice to call someone over for everything; order, bill etc. It’s a busy place and I appreciate that there’s more going on just customers sitting in. However my most recent visit has prompted finally leaving a review. We got sat right after another table. There was four tables inside, including ourselves, and a further two outside. It took 15/20 minutes to get our order taken after multiple attempts to get someone’s attention. By the time we had ordered the table sat just before us were close to finishing. While we were waiting the two front of house staff were counting money, were chatting, ran one tables food. Finally got someone over and there was no acknowledgment of the wait, then drinks were forgotten. While this is going one of the tables sat outside came in to ask to order as well. Again, we had to get someone over for the bill. There was a service charge added which we paid, but in retrospect we paid for disinterest.

Oh goodness what a horrible service! So sorry because the pizza is really good. Today the staff treated us unkindly since the very beginning, very unfriendly. Then kept us waiting to order when the place was half empty, and were in a corner talking. Anyway, very sorry because I love the pizza and won't be going back.

We visited for takeaway pizza for 3 nights in a row! Charlotte was the best, she made us feel welcome every time. Great spot for visitors like us, craving some simple comfort food after a long day of sightseeing.

Not worth the hype at all! The slices are big yes but that’s all. Not much flavour and a wee bit burnt. I wouldn’t recommend or go back.

The square slices and the booze slushies are really good. Fun place to visit, FOH are always friendly. Highly recommend a visit if you're visiting Edinburgh, you can get a huge slice of pizza for less than a fiver.

Buenas pizzas, las rebanadas son enormes, solo que tienen mucha orilla y no me encantó eso. El precio es un poco elevado y el lugar es pequeño y demandado pero buena experiencia en general.

The pizzas are reliably good, but sadly a bit less generous with toppings than they once were. The main disappointment is the experience of sitting in. The staff were either disinterested and bored or too busy to interact or take orders. Perhaps a victim of their own success, but still worth trying for the food.
