City Spice in Gwynedd

Ordered a curry for 5 people and it was delicious, very reasonable priced and was ready very quickly for a Saturday. My Friend had the vindaloo and claimed it was a ‘proper vindaloo’. Very friendly staff, will be ordering from here again!

Ordered food for pick-up. Brilliant food. Had the Vindaloo and was bloody hot. Exactly what it said on the tin! My stomach lining has been destroyed but was nice to order from a proper curry house. Next time it is the Madras for me 🤣

Very rude and unprofessional owner. I gave them a lot of business over the yrs and ordered food many times from them, never again.

Last night I ordered & collected some foods for dinner. Every dish was very tasty more than expected. Everyone enjoyed the dinner. Best of luck for coming days.will order again soon.

Food was horrible not at all Indian. Paratha was not cooked properly. Curry was very very sweet as if it is a dessert. Please do some justice to Indian cuisine... Spoiling the food in the name of Indian cuisine. Very very disappointed

First time trying city spice, partner put an uber eats order in and they left out my tikka masala so only he got his madras and rice. they included my naan but how am I supposed to eat my naan without my curry?? I will now tell my partner to order from royal tandoori as they have never messed up our order

Terrible, the food wasn't even in the trays, spoke to the owner and said that I will be getting a refund for the whole order. told them I will send pictures they refused. absolutely disgusting service. food is decent when there isn't tikka masala, rogan josh and pasanda at the bottom of the bag swimming, with a cheeky bit of paper bag tossed in there. Just a disaster of service.

Despite Google clearly showing this as a restaurant and having "dine in" as an option, this is only a takeaway. We're visiting from out the area and when I called to ask about booking a table, the man on the phone was very rude and virtually shouted that it is only a takeaway. We would have opted for a takeaway but he really put me off.

Food very good. Good selection of chiefs specials which you don't normally have on mank menus.

I ordered through deliveroo and it said 30-45 minutes. I received a call after 40 minutes and asked for extension of 30 mins. Did they not realise until last 5 mins that they have not begun my order yet? Why was it updated that my food was being prepared? Why was my order accepted even when they knew they couldn't make it in time? Very bad service. The owner is in denial and defends everything by replying that we have ordered from different restaurant or fake account. I had to add the screenshot as proof, which will probably be reported and removed by the owner to cover up. If you don't know a name, it doesn't mean it is strange. There are lots of things you don't know. Including cooking and accepting reality.

Very bad taste of their food, I throw away in bin . Tandoori chicken was finished ,so I ordered shish kebab (on your website spelling are sheek kabab)badly cooked ,smelling very bad . I travelled from London to Bangor ,so tried this restaurent food after checking google reviews and and google know that I had food from your restaurenton 19/02/2022. You can see too many good reviews for other restaurents in different places by me. Try to improve your food quality ,I visited last time and will not like to visit again.

Never had a bad Indian takeaway from here, you do wait a bit longer on a Fri/Sat night but its expected, wish they had more delivery drivers as you usually always have to collect, double check your order as usually something is missing.

I ordered food from this restaurant for the first time last Tuesday. I was received very warmly over the phone. Ordered Peshwari Naan, Kheema Naan, Rice and Chicken Jalfrezi, Really satisfying to find an authentic Indian food. A lot of restaurants in Bangor claim to be Indian but none of them taste authentic. Thank you for the service. Delivery was on time as well. Please keep up the good work. Really happy to finally find a go to restaurant when I go hungry and find it too difficult to cook

The order wasn’t ready - had to wait 30 minutes. The onion bajis were rock hard, no salad or garnish. The curry was unidentifiable and the sag alloo tasteless. The garlic naan wasn’t very garlicky. The pilau rice was nice.

Lots of chicken value for money we had 2 chicken Jalfrezi and 2 tikka masala, plenty of meat and the pilau rice was noice.However the garlic naan was under cooked it was gooey. We got the order delivered and didn’t have to wait long, however the lids were not put on properly and a loaf of the sauce had seeped out over everything! It as very messy to dish up.Would we recommend yes, but the garlic naan needs to be addressed it was not worth the money as undercooked and more caution needed when packing next time.

We have had curries all over the UK and this was the best takeaway we’ve ever had. I had ginger chicken my husband had chicken Madras which he said was awesome. My ginger chicken was gorgeous. It was just the perfect level of spicy for me and it was authentically cooked. We’ve never had a takeaway before that was as good as eating in a restaurant Will definitely order again and recommend to friends as well.

Firstly I am an experienced chef,so I know my grub!We ordered a Birthday treat on the 19 th of a May 2020 it cost £34,00 for a family of 5.Everything about the food was wrong,the onion Bahajias were very heavy! The chicken and vegetable Jalfrazi’s were all heat and no depth of flavour,the Naan breads were paper thin and poor quality!This take away was a complete waste of money,needless to say we will not be going back!

We received our order and were missing a nam and rice. They refused to send me the missing items and refused to refund me for the missing items after I spent £65 with them. Tried to resolve the situation, were passed onto to 5 members of staff and one put the phone down on me after trying to pass on the blame to deliveroo. They were very rude and won’t be ordering from them again.

I'm a lover of hot curries..and I mean really,really hot curries: A Vindaloo is mild to my palate,so I thought I'd go one step up and order a Chicken Phall from City Spice. I'm glad to say it didn't disappoint. The Chicken was perfectly cooked;fibrous,generous,great texture and not at all like that rubbery,watery injected stuff. (as is customary in so many Indian restaurants these days).The sauce was to die for and had the perfect pureed consistency...cooked and roasted to perfection...Thank you Chef,you have a great palate..The meal had the taste of a true 'BIR' (British Indian Restaurant) in the same way I remember it from the 80's, when we used to stagger home drunk and stop at the nearest Indian restaurant on the way home.The portions are very generous too.Don't hesitate to order from City Spice. I find that the true benchmark for any Indian restaurant/takeaway is how well they cook their hot curries...If the really hot curries are good the rest of the menu will be outstanding.I'll definitely be a regular customer here!

I’ve had two takeaways from here in the past couple of months, and both times I got home and food was missing from the order. Can’t get a basic service right. Don’t bother.

This is my go to when I want an Indian takeaway- they’re always really friendly and the food is always really good!

First time ushering Deliveroo as I wanted a curry delivered chose City Spice and I’m glad that I did it has to be hands down one of the best Curries I have had in a While their Chicken Kori is not oily and their cucumber raita is on par with one I had at a festival in Leicester overall I am very pleased.

Had an excellent service (and take away!) last Friday. They stayed open until just after 10 for us to collect the meals because the film didn't finish on time! Food as always excellent!

Extremely disappointing set meal for two. Wrong items provided & really not nice. Most of the food went in the bin. We will never return. A waste of £23.

Worst take away I ever had..ordered chicken tikka more like coconut curry taste too sweet naan and tandoori roti was like frozen and reheated..had to throw it away and ordered from somewhere else.they got no experience making indian food more like reheated ready meals..making people fool.. worse experience I've ever had.

Ordered,tandoori,korma and tikka....all were delicious,salad was fresh,fried rice and right down to the mint sauce and raita were all delish.The best Indian food i have had in many a year! Very nice friendly staff ,i'll be back!

One of the best takeaway in north Wales

I'd rather drive there from Bodorgan for a takeaway than go anywhere on the island it's so good. Consistent quality dishes since I first started frequenting there in 2011.

Food was really nice when we finally received it. Had to wait an extra 30mins though. Received free papdums as compensation. Would return though.

My boyfriend and I have had a few takeaways from city spice now! I am boring and always order the same but it’s not on the menu. Every time they make my request and it’s always delicious! Thankyou! See you soon!

MUST READ!!! On the 02/12/18 I ordered 2 chicken kormas, chicken bolty, and a rogan josh from city spice on coed Mawr, Bangor. So the CHICKEN CORMA WAS DISGUSTING me and the boyfriend could hardly eat it. It was extremely sweet and I mean it was full of sugar and very runny. The chicken was dry and tough. So the chicken bolty tasted very mild not a medium spice like they said it was. Again chicken was dry no spices what so ever. The rogan josh was just as bad. extremly weak and not tasting like an Indian. Don't get how so many people r commenting nice things about this place. Foood was awful. What a waist of money!!

Went here one evening while on a hospital visit to see my sick daughter. Ordered a tikka roll that wasn’t on the menu. The nan bread was amazing. The chicken tikka was made fresh. The 20 minute wait was so worth it. Chicken korma and fried rice was kindly split into 2 trays to save us trying to dish up in a hospital cubicle. Amazing friendly service and great food.

Ordered our usual tandoori mixed grill with some sides, waited an hour, no problem. When we unwrapped the food we were totally disgusted with the quality, meat very dry and inedible.

Had a couple of curry's from here. They were ok nothing special. Will visit again and try other curry's

Had three visits here recently,each takeaway was lovely with real heat which is hard to find in this area...

This is a regular choice of take away for me, the food is cooked fresh and never rushed. The gentleman on the counter / phone is very pleasant and doesn’t rush you, and is always more than happy to explain any questions about the dishes. A real must!!!

We ordered food a couple of times and were never disappointed. The curries were freshly made and customised to suit our needs, the bread was fresh and the biryani was delicious. Defoe worth a try!!!

The city spice india restaurant is very famous for its indian and blangladeshi food, the food here is very tasty and delicious and the price is reasonable when ever i go to this restaurant i will buy biryani, dal, chicken my friends like these food a lot and the taste is very good and they will maintain high food standrads, 😍😍

De vacaciones con la familia, ya que viajábamos en un grupo. Decidimos probar este llevar y eran muy impresionado con la frescura y sabor con el Madrás y platos baltti pedimos. Otros pidieron un jalfrezi y el pollo tikka Massala-jeera y sumamente sabrosa. A un precio muy razonable para las porciones que recibimos. Lo recomiendo altamente. Uno de los mejores que hemos probado en vacaciones en el norte de Gales.

Ambas visitas producido comida de la mejor calidad, el pollo en las cuatro comidas principales, estaba perfectamente cocinado piezas grandes y muchos de ellos a diferencia de otros restaurantes que contienen muy poco. Nos son grandes amantes de la comida india, y sin duda este precio los mejores.

Son geniales y hará de su curry como a usted le gusta, personal cortés, naga phall extra con chiles, me gusta mi pollo tikka Bhuna, pan y arroz, el mejor lugar en Bangor y alrededores por un largo camino.

Han estado aquí varias veces y ahora es el único lugar que uso en Bangor para hindú para llevar. Nunca tuvimos una mala tome lejos de aquí.

We ordered 2 meals and it was absolutely tasty . We went to pick up the order and was ready for us when we arrived. The gentleman who served us was polite and courteous. Would definitely order again when we fancy a curry.

I've been to City Spice five or six times now and I've never had anything less than an excellent meal. The staff are super friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. Simply my favourite curry house in Bangor. Highly recommended!

Excellent quality food you can taste the freshness. The Jalfrezi is my favourite every time I come here the food is consistently of high standard. Would highly recommend . Good value for money too as the proportions are generous. Would eat here daily I could.

You wouldn't expect such a good Indian take away to be situated in coed mawr but looks can be deceiving! Really good food. It's by far the best Indian takeaway locally. As always with Indian takeaways, the portions are big and filling. There are 2 of us and we share a starter, and main, along with naan bread (and brown rice that I cook at home) and we find that to be just right, without being too full. There's a good selection of dishes on the menu too.

I've had takeaway from here a few times. They have the standard selection of curries, breads and rices etc, but they are very tasty. They also have decent portions; both me and the mrs were full after sharing the meal for one!I highly recommend for both taste and value.

We go as often as we can, the service is superb and they can make any curry that's not even on the menu. A truly passionate takeaway that holds taste and quality above all else. A truly wonderful curry house.

Visited here for the first time as we had guests from Manchester so thought we'd order some food. The staff were very friendly and knew exactly what to recommend to us. The waiting area is clean and spacious and we were servd with popadums while we waited for our food.( free!!!)Was a busy place as the phone kept going off but they told us the food would be ready for us in the time they said it would be. The portions are massive for what you pay and we got loads of free food with our meal. The price is very reasonable and we had food left over the next day, Our family from manchester said the food was much better in City Spice than the restaurants in CURRY mile in Manchester. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We order at least once a week......CHEAPEST in Bangor
