Cinnamon Lounge in St Albans

My local has dropped in standards was pleasantly surprised with Cinnomon Lounge!

Chicken was hard and chewy. The onions in the curry weren't cooked but still very firm. It was meant to have a coconut flavour, it didn't, and the spices weren't cooked properly, still raw tasting or else it was a curry paste! Bombay aloo was boiled with hardly any spice or flavour to it. Naam bread arrived cold. I asked for Onion bhaji starter it never arrived. They gave me two rice which I never ordered. Complete waste of money. I should have called to complain but it's not the first time my food from there was not great.

Chicken was chewy and not tender. Rice was cold and other dishes were Luke warm. Overall disappointed ☹️

Our first time ordering from here and we were not disappointed. Delicious food, that tasted fresh and homemade. The onion bajis were so good and the garlic naan was just incredible. I can't wait to order again

I travel a lot and always look forward to visiting the Cinnamon Lounge when I'm in the area,it never disappoints. There is so much choice it can take me abit of time to make my mind up,I went for poppadoms and dips to start then Agnee path with rice and a garlic naan for the main it was delicious!! It was washed down with a couple of bottles of mongoose. Excellent food,a good selection of Indian beers, great service.Well worth a visit.

Good service and friendly staff, but the food was not such that I would rush back. Reasonable prices though, as some curry restaurants are now really expensive.

Was OK, sauces were very thin and watery, not sure I'd order again.

Normally this is very good. But this time it was terrible. Chicken was dry and tough. Quality has dropped off massively since out last visit. Would not return or recommend anymore.

i ordered for takeaway and regretted it ever since. Firstly, the food came and the first mouthful i took it was luke warm. With a biriyani that is quite dangerous and did in fact leave me with terrible food poisoning the next day. The curries had no flavour and were bland and tasteless. Overall, would not recommend.

I know curries don't travel well south of Glasgow but suburban southern curries always seem lacking. After great problems parking we got there. The staff are a mixed bunch, one friendly and another glum, speechless and unhelpful. My lamb tikka starter was OK, but my chicken dhansak main was bizarre and had no lentils with a red heavily chillied out sauce. I can only assume that the speechless waiter got lost in translation. Not good at all. We were told this was one of the best down here. How bad are the worst?

love the staff especially this one very handsome young man who looked after me throughout the evening and made sure i was well fed. lovely atmosphere, overall great dining. superb!

Great food and great service. Very difficult to give somewhere a 5 star rating, but Cinnamon Lounge definitely deserves a 4 star.

Really gutted because the food didn’t taste bad, once I had microwaved it it was nice, but it arrived 40 minutes and was cold so disappointed. Such a shame because if it wasn’t so late and stone cold it would have been enjoyable.

Really nice menu. Great food. Good range of dishes too. Defo be back.

Went with a few friends and discovered this gem of a place. Food was great and the service was outstanding.

Food was tasty and flavour full. Wasn't piping hot, probably due the delivery distance. Would definitely order from them again...

Was early and the guy was really nice but the Korma was beige. I’m not even sure how you make korma that colour. Was vile.

I ordered at 18:47 and requested 20:00 delivery time. I called twice within 30mins to confirm delivery. Unimpressive food and service.

Lovely well cooked food. Could possibly have been a little warmer, but easy to quickly heat up. Will definitely use again 👍

My outstanding local that I have dined in for 17 years but never posted about - shame on me. Whether it’s friends, family or colleagues, the outcome is the same. Fabulous food, excellent service and cold beer. Staff are excellent and there is no better Indian restaurant for miles around. Fab guys - keep up the good work.

Great food and fab service, always get well looked after by the staff whenever we visit. Very lucky to have this restaurant on our doorstep.

Amazing food either delivery or eat in 👍🏻 The staff are quality, funny and can't do enough for you 👍🏻 And they don't promote the meal deal that they do on Tuesday's and i think maybe Wednesday's which is too much to eat for what you pay Eat in only though But what you save pays for the beers 🤣👍🏻

Nice food, but very small portions, had fish dish £13 , but little fish in the dish

This was the second time we have ordered takeout here. Sadly we didn’t learn our lesson from the first time. Food cold, chicken overcooked. Samosas, naan & Bhajis seem to have shrunk! (must have something to do with Brexit). Have eaten in a few times and the food has always been great. Shame the same can’t be said for the takeaway. 3 out of 10 at best

Genuinely good food though sometimes the curry is a bit watery and the tika can be a bit chewy. Suspect two chefs. Well priced for colney.

We sat in tonight, usually get a take away. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant, so friendly. Would really recommend.

Popadoms Chicken Momos chicken Tikka and Chicken Korma. Obv Naan and Rice All cooked while we waited. Fresh and lovely.

My food was not good- the chicken was chewy, sauce had lack of flavour and I really did not enjoy it! I reached out to just eat for a refund but they were useless!

Food was hot on arrival and delivery was quick and driver friendly. We had all of order and enjoyed it.

Always great flavours and service

This is by far the best Indian we’ve ever had. Every dish was perfect, the service was great, just cannot fault the place in any way. Really made us feel welcome and looked after our specific needs/requests. Highly recommend

Fabulous food, absolutely delicious!

The chef's special dish was nice, with flavour. However we found the rogan josh watery and lacking any flavour, most disappointing. The portion sizes were good. The service was friendly.

Unfortunately they did not include the onion bhajees and I do not think the curry we received was actually a korma, disappointed.

The food was fairly bland overall. Garlic mushrooms had more onions than mushrooms, jalfrezi and korma were both rather liquid. Ok, but not great.

Unfortunately one of the dishes was delivered wrong, the king prawns were hard / rubbery and the naan was cold. Not up to the normal high standards.

After a very long day we couldn't be bothered to cook, so ordered from here. Well, wish we had cooked a ready meal to be honest- the meal was shocking. Takes a lot for me to post a bad review, unless im really disappointed!! King prawn puri was tasteless and full of grease. Vegetable curry was basically slop with NO veg at all except a carrot and one potato!!! Chicken tikka very chewy and not hot at all, had to reheat the meal in the microwave! Would not recommend at all, massive let down for £20

Just perfect. The best Indian restaurant for miles. Delicious food and really friendly staff. Have been eating at this restaurant for years. We have never had a bad meal. So happy that the world looks like we are returning to the way things used to be. Looking forward to eating out more often. Cinnamon lounge is top of my list. 🤗

Tremendous food. Always top quality.

Rather bland and tasteless. The quality of the lamb was poor too.

Not as good as normal. Bombay potato’s bland and the jalfrezi and dopiaza tasted similar. Not a lot of lentils in dopiaza. Naan was nice.

Fantastic Indian Food. Clean, modern restaurant where you can eat in and enjoy! Alternatively order a takeaway or have it delivered and enjoy at home!! You will not be disappointed!

Another great meal from the Cinnamon Lounge

Very disappointed with the food. The food was tasteless Chicken undercooked potatoes vegetables taste really bad nothing looks fresh. Naan bread were rubbery rice was hard. Waste of money. Rude manager.

Extremely bad food. Never in 25 yrs of ordering Indian takeaway, I’ve had such a bad meal delivered. The potatoes smells rotten, chicken uncooked, the sauce is like smelly liquid slime… Naan bread like cardboard. how dare they even deliver that kind of food!!! Can’t have been cooked by a chef. Seems like they bought the cheapest supermarket rubbish, heated it and delivered!! Shockingly bad!!!

Got a takeaway for 3 people tonite got it home only recognised 1 of the dishes we actually ordered, we still ate it as we was starving and quite frankly the staff wernt interested even when i was ordering.... I should have known better really !! Its our local but wont be goin back.

Usually have a great meal from here But tonight’s was a let down unfortunately. I’m going to put it down to it being a Friday night and they are busy so not as much care and attention going into the food!

Had a takeaway delivered that part was all good. However the food was VERY disappointing- King prawn biryani was bland and boring the vegetable curry had barely any vegetables maybe a couple of bits of carrot same with potato. King Prawn Shaslik was “OK” best thing was the peshwari naan. Nothing like our previous order OR the fabulous branch in Kings Langley. Sadly never again.

A really nice place to go and dine in. I Highly recommend Lovely staff (nick & Junad) known them for years good atmosphere usually enjoy my time when I go there.

Ordered a takeaway for collection, where do I start, first off they missed a dish and over charged us (just rounded up) secondly the food was barely luke warm by the time we got home 5 minutes away, chicken was very dry in all of our curries and the madras lacked flavour & heat, onion bhaji’s left alot to be desired, naan breads were rubbery. Portion size of all the curries was small, half a tray if lucky. I will never use again and would tell everyone I know not to use them either.

Regular weekly takeaway visit keeps the whole family happy. If you collect it will be with you in 25mins. Everyone always enjoys their food and the table is eaten clean ! Food comas all around!

Never ever use the delivery service it is terrible! This is the 2nd time I’ve used there delivery service & never ever again!!! Ordered on Just Eat this time & had a delivery time which was not met & had no response from ‘restaurant received order’ and will be here by ... No calls or instructions terrible service will not use and do not recommend either! The food is amazing but delivery is the worst ever.... DO NOT USE DELIVERY

4th time we have ordered from here. It's been great everytime. We've had 10 or so dishes from there over all the orders, all great.

We ordered food this evening and we were all really disappointed with our meals. The sauces were watery and tasteless the chicken was tough and chewy feel like I have just thrown away £50 on very disappointing food. We will not be returning just really sorry we didn’t order from our usual takeaway.

In all the years we have been eating from the Cinnamon Lounge I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal! Seafood dishes are just as delicious and always friendly service for eat in and takeaway

Not all food was delivered, had to ring and get them to redeliver. Food was excellent when arrived though.

Extremely poor customer service, my food was late so i rang through to the restaurant to find out where my food was for the staff member to say it will be on its way without even asking for my order number or address and then hung straight up. I then rang through 10 minutes later to say my food is not here it has been an hour and 20 minutes the restaurant is only round the corner for the staff member to tell me ' well next time come in and get it init' will never be ordering from here again.
