Cinnamon Cafe in Rother

Went there for lunch, food was excellent. I can't eat the bread so without me asking they substituted with a delicious beetroot side

I don't think I have ever left a review of the Syrian Lounge despite being a regular of this and Khaled's last café for a good 5 years. The food here is, without doubt, THE best in Bexhill. Don't go if you're expecting a full English breakfast, but if you enjoy exotic flavours, beautifully presented, a spotlessly clean environment and warm, friendly staff then this is the place for you!!

Lovely food and friendly staff.

Having regularly visited for coffee (good and very reasonably priced), we saw that they were now opening Friday evenings so had a family celebratory dinner there. The food was delicious and the range of dairy free choices impressive. The bill was very reasonable and the atmosphere relaxed, so we will definitely be returning for an evening visit.

Just had a lovely family celebration Friday evening dinner - delicious food (on this occasion tagines, shawarma and dairy free options) and our own alcohol. A relaxed and very reasonably priced meal - we will definitely book again.

Visited with my dad and friend we had breakfast which was delicious. Very friendly service & would definitely visit again.

Second visit here and wasn't disappointed. Whatever you choose it is cooked fresh and tastes amazing. Can't wait until next visit. Mediterranean chicken is superb.

First time visit with friends. All had tagline meat dishes, which were all freshly cooked and delicious. Very friendly and efficient service. Nice atmosphere clean and welcoming. Would recommend.

Good variety of choice on the menu, we had tzatziki, humus and grilled halloumi for starters, and flavoured rice (lamb) and shawarma for mains. The food was well prepared, quick, plentiful and absolutely delicious. Full marks!

Ate lunch here with my sister and we both loved it! It’s clear that the chef takes pride and care in his cooking which results in delicious food! It’s good for vegetarians as well. My vegetarian sister ordered the halloumi wrap which she loved and I thought it was very nice when I tried some and I have the lamb tajine which was beautiful! I am absolutely returning here!

Very much enjoyed a falafel wrap, topped off with a homemade baklava (a decadent and delicious lunchtime treat) and Syrian tea. Exquisitely prepared, wonderfully fresh - this was a superb lunch. Judging by the dishes other diners were eating at the restaurant, the rest of the menu looks equally good too! Highly recommend

No matter what I have the food is consistent, cakes excellent, coffee delightful on the pallet. Highly recommend the Syrian lounge. If you are adventurous like to try new food then look no further, you will not be disappointed. Tony and Rhonda. 1 August 1923

Brilliant authentic food and lovely relaxing atmosphere. Smoothies were amazing. On our Visit we were lucky to pick a window seat and had first class view of Bexhill Carnival procession passing by. Anyway back to the food. We both had the Tagline which was cooked to perfection and the spices were flavoursome. Will definitely be going back.

My frind and I enjoyed a very nice lunch today at The Syrian Lounge. He had the chicken tagine and I had the Shawrama. It was excellent but I had a job finishing the meal as it was very large for a lunch. The ambience was great along with the decor and the waitresses. Will go there again

Friendly staff, excellent food. It was hot outside but in the restaurant it was nice and cool. The Beetroot Hummus and the Baba ganush were excellent as was the Tabouleh.

A friendly place for authentic tasty Syrian food. Nice and cool inside. Were even allowed to bring along dog, very much appreciated. Thank you. Pity you are not open in the evenings. A candlelight oriental dinner would be lovely.

Highly recommend this place. Second time visited and again was not disappointed at all. Service was great, food was great, cakes and Baklava was very nice, the coffee was exceptional. I love this place and fell very relaxed and satisfied indeed. All freshly cooked and homemade, there is something for everyone on the menu.

Lovely lunch of lamb tagine and shawarma, followed by the best piece of freshly made baklava I’ve tasted. Excellent friendly service, can’t recommend the Syrian Lounge highly enough. Shame we don’t live closer!

Delicious authentic food with excellent and super friendly service.

I had lunch at the Syrian lounge for the first time yesterday. The service was great, the owner Khaled was very welcoming. We ordered a bit of meza, and the for main dish I had Kabsa and the rest of us had Chicken Shawarma. I have lived in the Middle East for over 13 years and I can guarantee that The food is amazing, very tasty and authentic. I will definitely go back, thank you Khaled.

Earlier today I enjoyed the spinach and goat's cheese quiche, accompanied by a potato, carrot and pea salad in a light mayonnaise sauce. This was washed down by a delicious Moroccan mint tea. The café was quite full - I was glad to get a table. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is splendid too. And the Middle Eastern music ... I just love it. As well as welcoming groups, Syrian Lounge is ideal for solo customers, whether for lunch, breakfast, or a quick pot of tea or coffee. I thoroughly recommend people giving it a try.

10/10. Ambience was excellent. Staff accommodating and friendly, as it was an occasional lunch. Food was superb, yet simple and extremely well presented. Dessert was equally tasty and coffee just rounded off the perfect lunch. Can't wait for an excuse to go there again as the menu is above normal for choice and salivating for more.

We’ve been meaning to visit here for a while and finally got the chance today. It was amazing! I had the Shawrama and my husband had the chicken breast. The food was plentiful and the quality absolutely stunning. We will be returning very soon !!! Very friendly waitress and the service was excellent. Well done to you all - this is a fabulous place to eat or just drink tea and eat baklava!!

There were no completely vegan restaurants so we went here. My partner is veggie, I’m vegan and we had a platter of 6 dishes - beetroot hummus (delicious), baba ghanoush (fab), falafel (fresh and hot), vine leaves (tasty), Haloumi, and samosas (v spicy). We also had a pomegranate salad with vegan feta which was large and yummy. We drank homemade smoothies that weren’t typical flavours. We felt we’d eaten food made with love, it was absolutely delicious and fulfilling. I’d go here so regularly if we lived nearby. The owner/chef checked we’d enjoyed our food the other staff were very friendly. Do go here I don’t think you’d be disappointed.

Pleasant friendly venue serving an excellent selection of food including Syrian tea and coffee! With its reasonably comfortable seating this is a cafe which is now on my list of regular haunts.

Friendly service, but the food took a ridiculous amount of time to arrive, and was only so-so when it did. They need to decide whether online orders or cafe customers are more important.

The first and second time we ordered the food was amazing. We love shawarma. However, producing quality dishes everyday is key, and this is not a dish to be proud of. Halfway through the meal, oil starts dripping down from the shawarma. Like a lot. Had to stop eating as I'm afraid of what that might do to my stomach. I hope this is a wake up call. Be consistent and not complacent.

Delightful ambience and delicious food.

Possibly the best halloumi wrap I've ever had and the strawberry smoothie was to die for, mum said her salad was amazing aswell and loved the fresh herbal tea, the lady the served us was super sweet and I can't wait to go back!

Very special Syrian tea, and incredible atmosphere. I would have loved to have tried the Crepe cake, but was too full to eat. Highly recommend trying the coffee and cakes!

friendly and attentive coffee shop/restaurant. coffee brilliant, so we decided to have lunch. it was glorious: both vegetarian flan and meat tangine. perfect portions too. alas we are diabetics so couldn't take advantage of their cakes and afters, but they looked inviting. had to have second coffee instead. vg!!!

Nice people, good service. Quality of the food is great, only grumble is price v size. The platter was nice but not really a platter, not much to it for the price. The shawarma too was nice, but was small and missing ingredients in the filling (compared to what I know - and I've eaten very many). Overall nice experience, the menu and dishes just need some work. Holy wow! Wonderful vibes and decor, clean & cosy Friendly staff :) tasty coffee MeNu for everyone ! Sweet savory all of it We’re vegan and they had SO MUCH his dish.. the bean dish was so tasty I wanted it all.. I also had pancakes!! And the best hummus I have to try the hummus wherever I go. Some lovely choices of teas and coffees, including Syrian coffee which was delicious. Some typical Syrian sweets to go with it is perfect and a Gluten free cake was also delicious.

The food is a real refreshing change, it is very tasty and well executed fare, if you like to try something new give it ago. It is a small but very friendly cafe, my wife and I visit 2-4 times a month. If it’s a coffee your just after that’s just as good along with the cakes.

OK this was our first visit but not of our daughters. She's been here a few times with her mum and been amazed at how lovely the foods been every time. Our first impression walking in was a relaxed ambiance with a main dinning area in front of you and a relaxing sofa area to the right. I would highly recommend this cafe. Beautiful family run cafe with homemade dishes and plenty of vegan options. We had the 'Mediterranean platter', 'aubwrgine burger' and 'ful medames' fava beans which were delicious and full of flavour. Wonderful friendly staff too, who made us welcome on a rainy day.

Have been in twice recently for breakfast and a coffee, both times have been really good. Food is always a high standard and the portions are huge. Coffee always good too. Really happy and friendly staff which always goes a long way. A great find.

A fabulous little cafe serving delicious authentic Syrian food, with a lovely atmosphere. Great vegetarian options available and the owner will happily 'vegetarianise' most of the dishes on the menu using suitable alternatives. The owner and his wife are lovely people and genuinely want to share their love of food. Go hungry - the portions are huge and the prices very fair.

I and my partner went on our first date out of lockdown this morning, The latte was amazing even looked amazing and was the perfect temperature. The cappuccino tasted lush I loved it. And last but not least perfect omelette and mushrooms were perfectly fried. 5 star all the way 😃

Good & friendly service Food top class.

I visited here with my family for lunch.. I had the stuffed vine leaves which were so delicious.. Followed by (I can't remember the name) chicken marianated in the most tastiest herbs and spices wrapped in a crispy pitta bread and that was one of the most flavoursome dishes I've had delicious.. Service was brilliant.. I would highly recommend the Cinnamon Cafe..

We had lunch here, our first ‘eat in’ since lockdown. The staff were very pleasant and food delicious! We were pleased with our choice and had an enjoyable experience.

I have had a very nice meal today. Takeaway was well packaged and has new items on the menu. Beetroot paste was really good (part of the med platter). Cannot recommend highly enough, my family ate ours as a picnic, top marks!
