Cinnamon in South Lanarkshire

Dreadful service. Clearly they forgot my order, then when reminded, didn't even apologise. Took them exactly 2 hours from order to delivery. I'm a regular customer in the restaurant so know what to expect. My garlic naan was cold and soggy on arrival. Batter on the pakora was so soggy it was falling off. Cinnamon, you may not care, but you have lost our business.

Great food. We go regularly and occasionally try other places....just because. We always end wishing we had just gone to "the cinnamon club" Lovely staff. food lovely

We ordered 2 portions of poppadoms and only got 3 lol I don’t understand that The vegetable pakora was like cardboard and the garlic naan was terrible and soggy Wouldn’t return

Been using this resturant for years ..not be back..phoned for collection told half hour..no try 1n half hour..told twice whilst at returant five minutes sat there whilst ppl coming and going for collections asked twice what my order was...terrible service. Not be using again.

Didn’t expect a sneaky wee fried egg on my curry but my mind was blown, so bloody good. Had a wee bottle of chianti to wash everything down👌

Great restaurant, food up their with the best. We’ve eaten here probably four times and have never had a bad meal. The food is great, the service is professional, I can’t praise the restaurant enough. I can assure anyone they will enjoy the experience

I ordered a takeaway from just eat it took About an hour and a half to arrive. It was not overly warm. I must say it’s the worst peshwari Nan I’ve ever had I’m my life. I ordered a chicken Bhuna hard to muck that up you would think but it had a very runny sauce and the chicken was rubbery like it had been in the freezer for 6 months. My husband ordered a staff chicken curry as he likes spicy food the bhuna and staff curry were difficult to distinguish and they had not written on the cartons which was which my husband was disappointed as Bhuna is mild and staff is supposed to be hot. What a waste of money I left most of mine and was left hungry!

We went to cinnamon for a quiet sunday evening meal our first chance since lockdown. My partner arrived before me and was seated at a table near the door next to a party of twelve who had obviously been on it all day. The food was good service ok but couldn't have a conversation for the racket coming from the party. When I complained after our meal the manager knocked a fiver off a sixty six pound bill A FIVER...upon refusing to pay anything they reduced the bill by 20% still poor. They would not listen to our complaint. I've used cinnamon many times but dont think we'll be back in a hurry very disappointed...

Cinnamon club came recommended and we had to visit. What a find, mannerly staff, good atmosphere then the food..... very high quality and full of flavour.... modestly priced .... Well done and thank you for a lovely evening

Fantastic food at this gem of a place. Large part of 10 all different curries and sharing. All the starters well nailed on and fast service. We just got all the curries put in the middle all were very very tasty and the set meal price of around £17 for a 5 course including desert and coffee is oustanding. Better book as it is busy

After three occasions of food being delivered late as well as incorrect dishes provided with no apology or redelivery offered. I felt my only option was to post an informative review of this restaurant for others to avoid this establishment and instead order with professional takeaways in Cambuslang! Each time our order was late/incorrect we would phone to be met with unhelpful staff, who fail to grasp even the basics of customer service! Very rude staff who fail to deal with complaints which included cutting off the phone on several occasions, when our order was missing key curries, there was no apology nor an option to get these delivered to the house. The food is nice, however it’s not worth a 2 hour wait or the likely delivery with missing curries. It’s appalling customer service and attitude of staff has meant I will not be using this restaurant again. I highly recommend you use another Indian restaurant in the area

Tonight we ordered like we usually do and it took two hours for delivery. I knew it would have been very busy and took that into account. When the food came the delivery driver spilled our order from the bag onto the street none of the food actually came out of the container but all the sauces had spilled in the bag over everything. Item missing from order so telephoned them to advise and to also tell them about their delivery driver dropping the containers. They offered a refund and the missing food which was fine for all the hassle. We did not receive any refund but instead got a small tub left at the doorstep with two like warm pieces of chicken in a tub. Not acceptable at all no apology from the driver either. Very disappointed and will not be ordering again.

Waited an hour & half for delivery, food was cold & unedible would never order again. So disappointed.

Had an absolutely superb meal here, as always. Food, ambience & service was first class, the waiting staff were very attentive and very friendly. Best Indian in Glasgow, will definitely be back soon.

We went for the meal for 4 takeaway. It was fabulous. The starters were all excellent. Crispy Pakora, spicy onions were the best we’ve had in a long time. The 4 curries were each brilliant. Completely different and packed with flavour. I cannot wait to eat from here again. Utterly superb

We have used this restaurant before and thought it was ok. The fact the restaurant is delivering during the lockdown was ideal. Sadly the food was very greasy, now I know curry’s can be greasy but both the madras and the korma were swimming in grease. We had both opted for chicken tikka which costs an additional £1.50 per meal, with each having 5 small bit of chicken in each meal the rest was greasy sauce. The chicken tikka barely tasted like it was tikka. Anyway we did get a curry even if it wasn’t a very good one. Delivery increase from the original time given of 45 min to 1hr 25min which given the situation we are all in isn’t too bad. Increased score to 2 out of 5 only because they are delivering during lockdown!

Will never give this restaurant money again purely based on their non existent customer service! Placed an order on their website tonight at 7pm for delivery (website states 45 min delivery time) & was still waiting over an hour later, thought this was understandable given that many takeaways are closed due to the circumstances. Tried to call on several occasions just for an update on delivery time & the line was engaged, finally got through an hour & 20 mins after the order was placed. Was told that the order hadn’t been placed & it was actually a 2 hour wait for delivery (maybe the website should be updated to allow people to decide at the point of ordering whether they’re prepared to wait this length of time?!) but they could push the order through for delivery in 40 mins! Asked to cancel the order & was told they don’t authorise the payments so it would be refunded in 3-5 working days. Absolute shambles! Have to say have ordered here on previous occasions & waited upwards of 45 mins for collection despite being told 15-20 mins (obviously they have no concept of time) But the best visit I have had to Cinnamon yet has to be my stepdads birthday meal last September (didn’t write a review then because every restaurant makes mistakes & gave them the benefit of the doubt at the time however in hindsight it’s clear it‘s just their standard level of service!) 4 of us went for dinner not long after they had opened meaning we were the only ones in the restaurant. Placed our orders & received starters, so far so good! Plates cleared awaiting mains ... these were brought out & the waiter tipped a full plate of rice all over my boyfriend, right down his t-shirt, jeans, all over his shoes & the floor. As I say mistakes happen but there was not even an apology. Had we not been out for a special occasion we would made have made more of a fuss about this at the time but as we were laughing hysterically at the table the restaurant must have mistaken this for acceptable service. When we received the bill there wasn’t even a deduction for this which would have been the right thing to do by way of an apology. We left & have avoided the place until tonight which was the final straw. The food is average at best & certainly not good enough to warrant putting up with this level of service.

Food excellent, a bit put off by someone having a video call at next table with no earphones, but food was lovely.

Really nice food don’t use any colouring good portions quite reasonable price but restaurant can be cold sometimes you can’t wait to get out shame because it is a nice restaurant

Always wanted to try here.Tried tonight, ordered fried rice and chicken breast korma as I can’t handle anything too spicy. The korma was mainly sauce with about 5 or 6 pieces of chicken but unlike any other ceylonese korma this was spicy. The fried rice was so spicy I could not eat it! Even my wife who had chicken tikka masala and can eat hot food found the super spicy rice inedible. Huge disappointment. You can expect a different level of spice between restaurants but spicy korma and spicy rice ruined the meal and just isn’t what you’d expect. Almost all the meals went in the bin. Very disappointed won’t try again.

Saturday night and the need for green chilli was strong. We fancied somewhere new and were heading elsewhere until our daughter joined us and we decided to visit somewhere near her and she said Cinnamon came recommended. All I can say is "thanks for the recommendation, this was devine".Popadoms for the three of us were good and a good helping of onions and three other sauces came with it. We then shared vegetable pakora and chick pea poori. The pakora was traditional old style i.e. jaggy and the poori was devoured and enjoyed by all. It contained a delightful curry sauce which whet the taste buds for the main event.My wife went for Korma, her safety dish, while my daughter and I opted for the Lamb staff curry. The lamb was from the bone (no bone in the dish) and was so tender it melted in the mouth. However, the real delight was the sauce which was a great consistancy and zinged with green chilli, didn't stop me popping in a few more mind from my chooped chilli side dish.The chapatis was great and spooned up the sauce, but next time I'll probably take two as with no rice ordered, another one would have been great.This was a real find and I'll definately come back even although it's circa 40 mins drive for us, yes, it was that good.Great food and at under £20 a head including drinks, was more than value for money.If you go, check out the murals on the back walls. We spent quite a lot of time enjoying the India meets Scotland theme.

Been here a few times. Always go for the £15 five course special, great value for money. Food is brilliant and service fantastic. Definitely recommend.

Nothing of note the restaurant was generally ok, food passable the staff were excellent but can’t see me rushing back!

We popped in last week for a last minute meal and we weren't disappointed.The restaurant was very busy with a good atmosphere, very attentive staff and great service.The food was first class, Chicken Dansac was awesome and I have eaten in alot of curry houses in and around Glasgow!! The pints of Cobra were also awesome!Finally,the waiters noticed my fiancee is pregnant and as we left they wished us luck with the baby and hoped to see us again soon.A hidden gem of a restaurant and we will defo be back guys, thanks so much.Great food, drinks and well mannered genuine staff.

Fourteen of us went here to finish off what was the most incredible weekend ever, it was my daughter’s wedding the day before and we weren’t disappointed with the Cinnamon as usual. Fabulous food, great service and a super ambiance. And as ever Raju looked after us with his normal expertise as did the other staff.

Made an order told 50mins for pick up which seems ridiculous. Ordered a portion of chips which were all soggy in a box which wasnt even full literally a handful of chips in the box. Opened the Korma curry and 5 pieces of chicken in it the rest was sauce. Will not be using again.

Excellent food, great service, all in all good for an Indian sit down or takeaway. PAkoras are all great, loads of choice on all the main courses.

I appreciate I have already posted against this place, but after tonight, I simply wanted to share my experience.

My husband and I visited here yesterday evening (4/7/19)after a lengthy discussion because there are so few sit in indian restaurants in our area.

What a revelation! This Suburban curry house may be my top in Glasgow if it keeps up the standard. The staff lamb curry was exceptional, depth of flavour, hot enough, meat tender but not generic pre cooked stuff added to a sauce. Nans were perfect. Fried Rice well flavoured with whole spices. The cinnamon special lamb was magnificent too using fresh coriander in abundance almost like a saag. Poori starter was great and others looked good. Would have been great at 18 a head but for 9.99 pre theatre Sunday to Thursday it's grand larceny. If this place was in the city it would clean up. Right next to cambuslang station though so only one stop from central and worth the trip.

Sitting in this place just now, ordered carry out over phone an hour ago, told it would be 30 mins been sitting here for 30 mins waiting for it. That’s a total of 1 hour to get a carry out. Ridiculous

Myself and my fiancé where in for the pre-theatre meal. £9.95 per person great deal! Poppadoms to start with the best spicy onions i have ever had. Veg pakora and samosas on a chickpea patia bed. Chicken korma and staff curry. Staff curry is fantastic tasty curry and would highly recommend this place! Great local restaurant.

While this place is not exactly city centre, it is a great option for the location - Cambuslang. We recent lost one of our local favourites and found Cinnamon after a search for tandoori lamb chops. Lol. We have used the takeaway service twice now and will definitely be returning for more.

Atmosphere ok, slow service, staff didn't appear to understand what was being said. Curries advertised as being made with chicken breast but the dish I was served was full of gristly meat. Onion bhajis were more like a fiery chilli patty so hot they couldn't be eaten. Very disappointing experience.

Had pre theatre meal, everything about it was great. Had onion bhaji and veg pakora to start and chicken chasni and chicken korma. Staff, food, ambience was lovely. Great price for £9.95 Will definitely be back.

I visited this restaurant last night for the first time in 10yrs I can’t understand why it has taken me so long to revisit this excellent restaurant. I had the staff curry and my wife had a chicken tikka and I had a couple of pints of Cobra lager and food and drinks were very good.I will be using this place in a regular basis from now on.

Visited with my husband tonight and was very impressed, food hot and tasty, starters nice husband has tandoori mixed grill which he was really impressed with, until I got him to taste my meal of staff lamb curry which was delicious, have been eating Indian food for years and have tried and loved many dishes but must admit this meal ticked all the boxes and is now my favourite, will be back for more, also loved the nan bread which was not doughy but nice and thin and was just perfect

Well, recommended to our daughter by a friend, and since she works just along the road, we booked a table for 6.30. Nice small restaurant, not too many tables. Ordered drinks and starters. Drinks arrived fast, but it took a bit of a time for the starters to arrive. Will just say we had our 4 year old grandson, who was getting very tired after being at a football match in the afternoon. Starters were delicious. Waiting, and waiting for main courses, eventually just after 8.30. My grandson was sleeping. The meal was delicious, only complaint was the time for service. Apparently they take loads of takeaway orders, but they should ensure peoplewho are sitting,waiting, for a meal should be served in a decent time. If we go back, we’ll be in at 5.

We've been going to and ordering from the Cinnamon since it opened, however, we've been left really disappointed in our meal and not for the first time lately. Firstly, the delivery service has become extremely slow, whether down to a shortage of staff in the kitchen or a lack of delivery drivers. We were told to expect the food within an hour but was almost 2 hours. When the food arrived it was cold and had to be reheated. Immediately it became apparent that the portions had been drastically reduced which was evident before we even opened the containers by their weight. We counted the pieces of meat in each dish and the most was 7 small pieces of lamb. We had also ordered a meal for 1 and a meal for 2 however, the rice portions for both were the exact same size and just enough to feed 3 and no more. Finally, the taste, the one thing that you could count on at the Cinnamon was just very, very bland. Hopefully things will pick up again as this has consistently been the best Indian restaurant in the area .

First time at the restaurant and it was a very good night.The staff were very attentive the food was delicious and there was no rush for you to leave,in fact the staff were excellent.

Was told this was a Bangladeshi Resturant but the food was clearly Punjabi, nothing wrong with Punjabi food if you like it. Food was full of raw ginger which is how many Punjabi currys are, which made the currys taste only of ginger. The overall curry dishes not just the ginger were very clearly Punjabi and not Bangladeshi. Which if you are looking for a Punjabi curry thats the place for you, but dont expect Bangladeshi food.

Ordered takeaway - food delivered over 2.75 hours after ordering, 1.5 hours after restaurant's estimate. Tried phoning to complain - phone off the hook - rang out for over an hour. When it did arrive, the food was cold and the order was wrong (missing one item). Had this happen before with Cinnamon - never again. Use at your own risk.

me and family visited the cinnamon club, after having some great deliveries, the food was brilliant proper Indian curries with not colours or additives, we had the mixed platter to start very good then the curries, house special, chicken tikka main meal and lamb Jaipuri, all excellent and flavoursome they also have large bottles of Indian beer absolutely brilliant. if you are in the area you must try

Visited here on a quiet Monday evening only 1 other table already eating when we arrived. We waiting about 15 mins for a drink order which was only soft drinks and a further 10 mins for our food order to be taken. Ordered sharer platter for starter which took about 20 mins to arrive, I thought it was ok my husband found it to be quite heavily spiced. Anyway onto main course, again another long wait on them arriving, I ordered king prawn sizzler, to my horror 8 over cooked, rubber and impossible to chew came on a sizzler on a bed on cooked onions which stuck to the sizzler, not good at all, my daughter ordered a chicken Tikka masala she said it was ok, hubby ordered a chicken Tikka Chasni which was ok but but great and my youngest daughter ordered golden fried chicken, much to our horror again a chicken breast which was brown, over cooked and dry as a bone arrived on her plate. We tried to cut into it and it was impossible it was solid. After about 10 mins the waiter came to ask if everything was ok told him we weren’t happy with some of the food and he took my daughters chicken off the bill. We finished up paid our £85 and left, a bit on the expensive side considering we left still hungry. It’s my understanding this restaurant won an award at the Scottish Indian awards but I’m sorry after our meal I can’t see why. Very very disappointed

We were in on a Saturday night and got the 5 course for £15 deal. What amazing value. Food was brilliant and the staff were great. Will most definitely be back.

This is my favourite Indian cuisine. It has a distinctive flavour, always fresh and reasonably priced.

A lovely night with friends. Friendly staff, nice house wine and yummy food. I can recommend the Saag. Very tasty and not too hot. It's great for our friends being so close to the train station ( live in Milngavie) it's a 30 second walk for them. Thanks for a lovely night xx

If your looking for delicious food this is the place to go.ive been here a few times and it never disappoints the food is amazing and the house white wine is great value for money, the staff are lovely and very attentive and nothing is too much trouble.

Ordered a meal for four for collection last night. We were told it would be 40 minutes in fact it took nearer 80 minutes.

Ordered online for a 19.55 pick up. Arrived there at 8 and I don't think they had received my order. 30 minutes later I got my food...which was delicious.

Consistently great quality, freshly made food. Love the tandoori chicken, 2 petitions feeds a family of 4 easily. Great service, I always phone order for collection and never have waited longer than the time they say. They even replaced a meal my husband ordered by mistake when he mixed chicken tikka masala for tandoori chicken- once they realised it was our mistake, I was William by to take tikka masala but they made us tandoori. Their curry’s a fab too. Haven’t sat in, we alway carry out.

Excellent. I collected the order and it was ready when I got to restaurant. Curry tasted amazing u can really taste the fresh ingredients. Highly recommended.

Very disappointed. Restaurant gave me 20% refund but that's immaterial to be honest. Ordered at 7:30pm. Estimated 8:30pm. Arrived 9:30pm. Wife reckons chicken was off. I disagree but I do feel terrible this morning. Not up to their previously high standards in terms of quality of food but delivery times have been getting steadily worse for sometime.

I don't know if the fire at the Blochairn fruit and veg market on Thursday affected deliveries but I had to play "Hunt The Okra" in the Bhindi that was delivered tonight. It was 95% onions and a couple of green strands of okra thrown in. Disappointing, as it's one dish that differentiates Cinnamon from the rest of Indian restaurants in the area.

Best takeaway food in Rutherglen/cambuslang. Excellent.

Food was excellent as usual. The curries were on the spicier side but for me that's a good thing. The food arrived later than specified and nearly 2 hours after ordering! That's not great but a wee text from the restaurant giving an update would of been nice.

Time was confirmed for 1:15 mins after ordering but had to phone, at which point it turned up, 2 hours after ordering. However 1 meal was missing, and had to phone again to get it delivered and a replacement naan bread. Rice was also cold on arriving.

Booked a last minute meal at Cinnamon, this wasn't a problem as place was relatively empty. Arrived and asked to take a seat while we were to be taken to our table. Seated area was sticky and was hesitant to sit down. We were then...

Never tried a Groupon voucher and never again! Forgot to use them and could not access them! Managed to rescue one Groupon and thought the sort of two for price of one with my wife would be a good experience but was sourly denied basics...

Will not be ordering again the pakora was barely cooked the bhuna sauce just didn't taste right and the lamb was shocking just fat and tasteless meat

Food was amazing as always. Aloo pakora was great as was the Chicken Tikka Ceylonese Curry. Delivery time was earlier that quoted.

Wasn't too impressed that after handing over £20 to the woman delivering my order this evening that she just turned around and started walking away. The order was £18-something and I would generally just give £20 to include a tip for the delivery driver - the Irish guy that usually delivers for Cinnamon is spot on - however I didn't indicate to her that she could keep the change and felt that it was disrespectful for her to simply assume. Next time the delivery charge I pay will be the only tip they receive.

We eat here often, the delivery time is always a problem but the quality of the food is usually fantastic so we don't mind. Today however, on top of the delivery being half an hour later than we were told (two hours after ordering) the food we received was bland and totally not worth the money. Not impressed.

Always excellent both sit in and take away. Every curry has its own distinct flavour unlike some places where only the colour and chilli count varies. Always fresh and prompt service. 5* every time

Love the food in this place. Chicken korma cannot be beaten. And a must have is the peshwari naan. Great service in the restaurant and for home delivery. Prices are reasonable too.

Waited 2.5 hours for our order, not acceptable just wish they hadn't took our order. They have offered us a 25% discount off our next order but doubt there will be a next!

Food was excellent as always but order was supposed to be ready for 7.45, instead was ready at 8.08 which was 1hr & 6'mins after it was accepted! Was told 'not long' and '5 mins' a couple of times which was not the case and very frustrating

First impressions: Not too bad. Certainly their food exhibited a little more finesse and flavour than the majority of Indian restaurants in the area. Prompt and pleasant delivery from an Irish delivery driver. Would certainly try again.

I ordered a takeaway on Saturday (appreciate it is busy) and was advised it would be delivered approximately an hour from ordering. The food did not turn up until at least an hour after this (at least 2 hours in total) by which time the food was cold and we were no longer hungry. This was also after I had rang several times to find out where the order was which was always 'on its way'. Very disappointed with the delivery service. I have eaten in the restaurant before and found it very nice, just a shame the delivery service was awful!

Food is always good from the Cinnamon club. I do not know anything about the restaurant service so no sense in asking me to rate it!!

The food is nice, fresh and authentic. I'm quite choosy. I had the meal with my kids and enjoyed it. Could have been delivered faster but they must be in high demand. This area lacks good food.

Food tasted nice however waited 2 hours for delivery, half my curry sauce was swimming about the bottom of the carrier bag. After phoning to check where it was as app was saying delivered. I was told it's on its way, no apology or anything. Wouldn't order again.

Delivery was quicker than they quoted. Mains were hot but pakora & nans were in paper bags that were wet and luke warm. Food tasty as usual.
