Excellent service food was delicious nice atmosphere

We went for a meal to celebrate a 50th birthday. There were 14 of us, we were all served together, no-one had to wait. The food was excellent, well presented, well cooked and delicious. I would definitely recommend the Church to anyone who has a healthy appetite. Will definitely return.

Food: we ordered the garlic chicken with curly fries and salad, was very hearty and delicious, chicken was juicy and garlic sauce was very tasty. Service: Good service with friendly staff, one of the orders for my sister in law was slightly wrong but they corrected it for us so no real problem there. Atmosphere: It’s what you’d expect from a nice and cosy local pub.

Been here a good few times over the years. Food and service is always 10/10!

The plates of food are enormous. Had liver,bacon,onion,peas and mash potato fantastic. Nice and hot with lots of gravy. Highly recommend.

A fantastic beef curry....service with a smile....very reasonably priced....great atmosphere.....what more can you ask for....We'll definitely be back again in the future.

Had sirloin steak meal absolutely cooked to perfection, my husband had all day breakfast, really enjoyed it .

Great little pub, obviously loved by the local community.Service great,drinks served quickly,lots of history of pub and church on plaque by church. Meal good but lacking roast Parsnips a must of mine, also roasties a bit soft, would prefer new potatoes to boiled ,but that's just me. Will go again,but I know another pub not a million miles away just that little better.🤔

We ordered fish and chips. There is regular size, large ,jumbo,then there's Church House WOW size I've never seen such a larger piece of fish and it tasted fabulous.

Had a couple of meals there and always good food. Large portions and food well cooked and presented.

This is an absolutely great pub. Excellent atmosphere. Staff are very welcoming & attentive. Super friendly. The food was gorgeous. Brilliant portion size. My husband & I couldn't fault a thing with this place. Can't wait to go again. We highly recommend this pub/restaurant.

Quick friendly service, amazing food

Recommended by a friend, very impressed particularly by the food, but also the friendly service. I had the steak and stout pie which was quality, from the delicious filling to the lovely flaky pastry.

Absolutely brilliant meal after a 10 hour drive down from Aberdeen. Enthusiastic welcoming staff and the atmosphere was full of fun.

First time here for Sunday dinner , highly recommended. Food was fantastic, the meat melted in your mouth and the vegetables where very fresh and plentiful.

Too many people, were a minority ie 2 people, staff in thier droves not given menu's, not asked for our order. My wifes Hunters chicken poor, my sirloin perfect. Poor Parking. Been there done it.

Not a busy evening for dining yet the service was poor, steak arrived and had to wait for the side sauce. Asked for dessert menu arrived dropped at the table and no one returned payed our bill and left.

Booked for lunch for four based on two separate and positive reviews. Arrived at 11.55 and ordered immediately. Two chicken, bacon and leak with mashed potatoes and peas and two other different dishes.When asked where were they, we were told the chicken/bacon takes 45 minutes to cook. When it arrived the plates were cold, the peas hard and undercooked plus the mash and sauce lukewarm and the chicken pink.I took my meal to the bar and told the Landlady what the issues were and to take it off the bill. To be fair, I was offered an alt meal but it was pointless because by the time it arrived their meals would have been eaten.She came over to our table, no apology and offered me a free drink which I declined and I asked for a pudding instead. The Landlady came back again and told me it was the bacon that was pink not the chicken. What is ironic, is the friend who spotted it worked in a Butcher’s and told me not to eat it.When we received the bill, my meal was taken off but contrary to what the Landlady offered as compensation ie: the dessert was on the bill.I asked to speak to her but she’d gone out, I told the Waitress to ring her on her mobile for her to explain why she’d gone back on her word?As I stood at the bar, I heard one staff member speak to another saying the Landlady had instructed her ‘to take the effing dessert off’ When I asked was this pertaining to my issue, the Staff member told me it was someone else's. A tad coincidental two people in a small restaurant had the same problem?When we left the restaurant the Landlady pulled up. I again remonstrated with her why she’d gone back on her offer to which she replied ‘when I asked for the meal (which I hadn’t eaten) to be taken off the bill she cancelled the ‘free dessert.’So no apology and no compensation for the meal or the inordinate amount of time we had to wait.The Landlady was utterly obnoxious and aggressive plus on the way back to the entrance told me ‘f- - k off.On a positive note, the Waitresses were charming, the desserts good plus the coffees.What is inexcusable is the Landlady’s attitude and foul-mouth. To say she has no idea when it comes to customer interface is an understatement. I feel sorry for the lovely Staff having to work for someone so odious.In addition, three tables who came in after us were served before us. On the table next to us a Lady complained about how her gammon was over-booked.Even now I fail to understand how chicken wrapped in bacon took 45 minutes to cook, perhaps they used candles from the adjoining Church?Our experience according to the Gammon Lady is not typical and the Sunday lunches are good. Sadly due to the contemptible Landlady the Restaurant won’t be getting my custom.PS: Perhaps she could introduce a swear box to help her with her control her potty mouth?

Went to the church house for the first time in years my wife and I both had a fantastic meal the only criticism I have is I had the hot rock meal and there could have been a bit more on the plate in the way of chips and onion rings etc. The meal was out of this world just cold have been more of it considering what we payed for it but will be going back very soon

Omg what a fantastic place, the food was amazing, I had a small plate of chicken curry and still couldn't eat it all 😋 10/10 to the staff great service and very friendly 👍👍👍 Revisit: 03/03/22 Went for the bangers n mash , this time omg absolutely banging, no pun intended 🤣 10/10 again the small plate selected and I eat the lot, had no room for dessert though 😋 Stop by this place, won't be disappointed 👍👍👍 As for the one person who gave a negative review for this place! Check her reviews out 4 posts and all negative, really get a life love, it's clear your just a very sad , bitter and twisted person. 🤔😲

March 1st 2022 my family and I celebrated my Grandaughters birthday and St Davids day at the Church House Inn Caerphilly. Staff were brilliant as was the food, all meals were home made and delicious. Highly recommended.

Woeful parking. Good service. Noisy. Best book.

Busy time we went but it made the night . Food was great some staff were great but wasn't impressed with couldn't order a drink at 10.20 as till was cashed up and was being watched like we needed to go . Shame don't think I will be going back

Waited 40mins or more for a typical pub meal...masses of frozen deep fried chips and rice to fill up the plateBurger luke warmCheese omelete well over cooked,pointed this one out ,but the waitress said it was burnt on the edges but ok in the middle....so that makes it acceptable to serve?Was offered a free dessert,which we declined.Could have gone to any pub chain paid less for equal or on this occassion better foodHope this is a one off,but it has certinly put us off returning any time soon

I’d heard very good reviews of the church since the new owners took over. I had a friend visit and we decided to try the church today. We both know good food and we were not disappointed. The staff were excellent and the food was piping hot and delicious. I will be returning and I recommend this pub wholeheartedly.

Had a fantastic steak here today, for a friend's birthday. Splashed out on the "black rock" fillet steak, that you finish cooking at the table. Not cheap at £25 but worth every penny, as it comes with great chips or lovely new potatoes, as well as sauces, salad and other trimmings. The beer, staff and the atmosphere were all great. I'm personally not keen on the TV screens, but that won't stop me returning. Well done The Church House Inn.

Had a fabulous steak today, for a friend's birthday. We splashed out on the "black rock" fillet steak, which came with sauces, salad, great chips or equally good new potatoes. Worth every penny, and the beer, staff and atmosphere all great. Personally not keen on the TV screens, but won't let that put me off going again. Well done, Church House - a real delight.

Lovely food will be going again

We were there last night, and 3 of us had steak, they serve it raw with a hot stone so you can cook it to your liking, it was really good. Only thing, one of our party is Vegan and she was told the lasagna was vegan, when it turned up it obviously wasn’t. But they replaced it with a cottage pie that was and a free drink. A really good night out.
