Beware this premises has recently been refurbished and the management has decided to make its customers pay for it , Child size portions @ Adult prices such a shame used to be such great place to eat they have changed there chef bring your alka selzer with you never again you would think that after being closed until Mon 17/05/2021 they would of not gone down this road , Manager received the quality complaint with you don't have to eat here as a resolve .My last family lunch here should have left it as it was and put soap in the toilets

We ordered online for me and my fiancé while she was on break. After placing my order I realised I made a mistake as we all do, I followed the steps to contact the restaurant I called 5 times!!! and tried to get ahold of them through the Deliveroo contact but with no success. After being on the phone for about 5-10 minutes I gave up. The order arrived with the wrong item which we couldn’t eat because my fiancé has an allergy to the item. Overall the other food was great but the restaurant is useless at answering the phone. This isn’t the first time we’ve tried to contact them

Mi amigo y yo visitamos este bar de fideos. . Era la primera vez que comía los fideos con hamburguesa de calabaza y sopa, también patatas y verduras. . fue tan sabroso y abundante. . . El costo de un medio era de solo 6 libras y era tan exuberante. Realmente lo disfruto. . el lugar estaba muy limpio, personal amable, servicio muy rápido. . . Un lugar de visita obligada. . .

The food was fairly bland, and I nearly broke my tooth on a chicken bone. I had salt and pepper chicken which should not contain bones, so was very surprised to hear a crack in my first bite. Wont be going there again

By far our favourite snack place in Cardiff, hygiene rating 5, fresh, hot food, choice of toppings, friendly staff who take the time to serve you properly even if you have little ones running around, I love this place, it's a must visit each time we are in the city!

La señora que me atendió no hablaba muy bien inglés y tuve que hacer mi pedido dos veces antes de que ella entendiera. No discrimino a las personas que no hablan muy bien el inglés, sin embargo, era casi imposible comunicarse con ella. He sido cliente por más de 3 años y siempre pido una caja pequeña, pero esta vez la caja solo tenía 3 trozos de pollo y son del tamaño de un bocado, así que tuve que pedir que fuera mediana. Ci siamo andate due volte, ottimo sia per il pranzo che per la cena. All'inizio può essere complicato capire come funziona perchè se prendi un box piccolo ti danno un solo topping, se prendi la box media due toppings, se prendi la grande tre toppings. Comunque molto buono, scalda lo stomaco e molto spazio per sedersi.

He visitado tanto el bar outlet de Bridgend como el de Queen Street. Cardiff tiene que decir que la sucursal de Cardiff es mucho mejor. Si estás con una familia, hacen una muy buena oferta 19. Firstly you could see exactly what you were buying, it was all hygienic. Pleasant service, no real big queue, all put in a box for you to eat with a cardboard fork. Plenty of room to sit down on not the most comfortable bench.

Called in just before the 8pm closing time hoping that I was not going to be disappointed. I need not have worried. Although a couple of items had been taken off the menu I was still able to get a good noodle selection box. Bonus too in that I was given a few freebies as it was the end of the day. Really convenient location and would certainly recommend for a quick bite at value for money prices.

had a day in cardiff getting towards lunch time looked around saw Chopstix and a long trail outside this food outlet had a look at the menu inside,then joined the queue the menu was explained so had the noodles and Chinese chicken curry with another filling on top great service and the person who serves you follows you to the till.the meal was simple hot and value for money will go again when next in cardiff.

This is a great place for a quick tasty bite to eat. You order one of three sizes of box - small, medium or large. This comes with stir fried rice and/or noodles, on top of which you have 1 (in the case of a small box) or 2 toppings chosen amongst things like sweet and sour chicken, caramel chicken, salt and pepper chicken, thai curry etc...

Have been here many times and always get good, quick service and very tasty food. Made all the better now as we got a discount voucher when we visited before Christmas, so now 20% cheaper which adds to the enjoyment.

Teníamos dos "cajas medianas", es decir, dos rellenos, con un costo de 6 cada uno. Comimos pollo a la barbacoa con sal y pimienta pollo en arroz, y pollo con caramelo, gambas dulces y chili en panecillos. La comida no era buena en absoluto. Yo diría que los comida para llevar chinos son mucho mejores que esto. Ni a mi mujer ni a mi nos gusta. Debería haber ido al McDonalds cercano en su lugar. Muy decepcionado.

Fui a comprar en Cardiff hoy y he visto este lugar. . . wow me encantó, la comida se veía fabulosa, tú eliges lo que quieres, todo está en una caja, bien, el precio también. Whilst out and about in Cardiff city centre we called into chop sticks for some food it was lovely Freshly cooked noodles and same for the prawns and curry sauce Definitely recommend

Came here on the 11th of August for a quick meal. Disappointed with staffs service when she failed to say that the black bean sauce had meat in it. After that her attitude stunk when I expressed I'm vegetarian. Although the food was great, I will not be returning due to appalling customer service.

Popped in for an early lunch as was staying in local hotel and wasn’t having dinner until 8.30. Firstly you have quite a bit to choose from. I think unfortunately for me I chose the least favourite. The other three had the Chinese chicken curry and Thai curry which I must admit tasted really nice. I chose the sticky chicken. It was really chewey and I ended up leaving most of it. Rice was nice though. If I went here again I would go for one the curries.

I do occasionally stop by Chopstix when shopping in the city centre. I tend to get the egg fried rice and thay chicken curry with a side of prawn toasts. I have no complaint about the food, it has always been very tasty. However, the service is so poor, staff often look like they would rather be somewhere else! I often get served by a female, she is quite abrupt and is quite stingy with the portions. Shame about the customer service, otherwise I would definitely visit more often.

I ordered from this resrurant through Deliveroo website. And I got a fly in my noddles box!!! The biggest and worrest scenario that thier phone number is not working!!! I called Delviroo and after 15 mints the customer service lady told me we can't give u a refund but we will investigate ur issue!!! What the hell service from both

I ordered a medium portion but the lady at the counter gave me a very meager portion. I then went on to order a second medium portion and politely asked a different member of the staff to help me. The cook overheard my conversation and came to the counter to see what was going on. He seemed to be drunk as he had alcohol on his breath, his speech was slurred and he had droopy eyes. He then told the staff member to reduce my portion. I don't understand what was his problem with me? I then asked him why he was reducing my portion. He then started abusing and threatening me and was waving his spoon in front of my face. Upon hearing the common almost the entire staff including the manager came shouting at me as if I had done a big crime by asking the question about my portion.

Fast food that is better and more healthy than the burger options

Have never had a complaint about the food in this place. Has all been lovely. Not sure about the prices , may be slightly too steep for the portion sizes, but the prices of the extras/sides are very good! The staff are foreign, and they may be a language barrier, but they are still well mannered, and work very well and efficiently. The staffs work ethic really puts the 'fast' in 'fast food'. My overall opinion of this place is that it is great for a quick bite, and the fast service makes it even better, and that is why it is one of my most frequently visited food places for when I am in the City Centre.

I have been to this establishment many times over the years I would like to point out staff are always friendly food is always satisfying noodles and choice of two chicken dishes never left here disappointed

We wanted a quick inexpensive lunch ad we were going to have a big evening meal. This was the ideal choice and eased the pressure iff a day's Christmas shopping. Having lived in the Far East the selection if dushes was exciting and we tried several, my faviurite being the Malaysian chicken. I chose rice and ny wife chose noodles, both if which were nicely cooked. Portions were ample for lunchtime. We'll be back next time we visit Cardiff and have already told several friends about it.

I went to the chopstix shop on queen street on Monday the 27th of November for a quick lunch with my friend.

Called in on Saturday afternoon to have a quick bite before going to Cinema...Ordered two medium cartons of food both with Noodles, chicken and some curry..Also ordered two spring/Vegatable rolls.. Service was good and staff polite and friendly..Took our food back to sit at the many benches there..

Cheap and cheerful, you queue up, choose which size box you want and they heap it full of noodles or rice then you add a chicken dish or two or three (depending on meal size). Great size portions and very good value. Chicken dishes were tasty but my only criticism was they could have been a bit hotter. Typical fast food seating area, wooden benches and clear your table yourself after you finish. Good for a speedy lunch.

We were on our way to our hotel and thought it would make a good change from Burger King. My husband is the most picky eater but the noodles were plain (no veg bits) and big selection of chicken. The oyster sauce chicken especially was lovely. The layout is brilliant to get prams in and is always really clean. It's half the price of other places in Cardiff for the amount you get.

I always come here for food before I go to work, however last Tuesday I met the rudest women ever! She slammed my food down on the tray saying the price, not even giving me a chance to ask for a drink or anything more! And then she walked of to go and stand away from me so she could go on her phone! I was not eating in so therefore I needed a bag, and even when I asked for when she pretended not to hear me and just stared at the next people who arrived!

Si te gusta la comida china pollo en diferentes tipos y los sabores prueba este lugar para un aperitivo. Nada sofisticado por dentro, pero para comer algo rápido, a bajo costo y muy sabroso con arroz o fideos, a probarlo. Mi esposa y yo sin duda volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en Cardiff.

Easy to read menu, plenty of chicken dishes to try, as well as a select few veg dishes. All the food tastes great, and I would definitely recommend to a family perhaps in a rush, especially because you can eat it on the go, and the kids will love it.

Visited chopstix today with my sister and the service was shocking. The lady behind the counter asked my sister what she wanted without even looking at her to busy looking out the shop window to see what was going on outside! So we asked for two small noodles!, she gave her 1 and ushered her down to the till to pay! So after my sister had paid she asked me what i wanted again while looking out the window so didn't know if she was talking to me or the person behind! She then took me to the till i asked her for a fanta she huffed!! Then took my payment and threw my receipt on the tray were it landed in my noodles!! Haha never again will i visit!

A decent choice of noodles with a variety of chicken dishes, not the finest quality but cheap and freshly cooked and served within minutes. My third visit and I will return

Being from London we have these places all over. The Cardiff version is clean and nice but the food wasn't as good and didn't taste as fresh as we are used to. Plus the portions sizes of chicken were shocking in comparison.

There isn't a better word to describe Chopstix than "average"Noodles were not unpleasant but seemed underseasoned, (There may have been soy sauce available, but the bottle was unlabelled and I wasnt in a mood to experiment!). Spicy toppings were rather mild although the crispy chicken was rather good.The plastic knives and forks are too flimsy to eat noodles with properly and if I'm eating in, why do I still need to eat out of the box? The decor was rather utilitarian... It was cheapish, but I would rather have paid more money for better food.

chopstix is a fantastic place evert time i eat here im NOT disaponted, food in a box with chopsticks order the medium size box with noodles or rice then two extra portions i love the pepper chicken with chicken curry sauce with fried noodles love it and i alway eat with chopsticks you can tell its good with how busy it gets queing out the door onto the street a great meal for £6

Great place to stop for a fast food on the go lunchtime meal. Limited choice of rice or noodles and a selection of dishes...sweet and sour chicken, BBQ, etc. The caramel chicken is delicious. Could do with a few more vegetarian options, but all food is being cooked regularly and fresh.

I always crave this place, I love the spicy potatoes and chicken dishes. But whenever I do go here I always regret it, the food is good but something isn't quite right. Me and my friends get the same feeling in our stomachs, like stomach aches or just wanting to throw up. Tastes good tho.

Nothing to dislike and nothing to write home about hence the title of average.Some of the benches were a little messy and there seemed quite a lot of food on the floor. The recycling side of the bin was also jammed packed.The chicken only toppings for the noodles seemed somewhat one dimensional, but carried some flavour.I will try some of Cardiff other delights before returning.

Chopstix serves food fresh, and in a box. Food is prepared fresh, kept hot and served with up to 3 toppings in a box ranfging from £4.5 to £6.5 depending on how many toppings you select. There's a whole range of toppings from veggies to sesame chicken and there's some sides you can call for as well. Portion sizes are enough for one person depending on your appetite, so two people can easily manage a meal in under £12 here, which is great value, especially given how tasty the food is! Highky recommended after a round of exhausting retail therapy! (The restaurant is located in the heart of the market).

Clean & tidy noodle bar and food looks fresh & appetising. However, staff member was abrupt & unhelpful and food (chicken fried rice) was bland, with very little chicken to be found. I can make better at home, just by adding some ginger & soy. Needs to up its game.

I and my boyfriend have first visited this place last year and haven't stopped since. As someone who enjoys noodles and needs a quick fix, this is the perfect place. Admittedly, there are little vegetarian options. You may have two sides together (for the medium sized box) with either noodles or rice, so vegetarians have the choice between spicy potatoes, vegetable curry, spring rolls or vegetables. So, if you're a veggie like me, you may find this a little overpriced.However, if you're not a vegetarian, like my boyfriend - who enjoys his noodles with caramel & sweet and sour chicken, you may see the value for your money. There are various options available too.The food is either a hit or miss - one day the potatoes might be deliciously crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside. On others, they may be dry, soggy and dead. There is a noticeable difference between fresh and non fresh food, especially the noodles, which may be tasteless at times. However, if you come during peak time, you should not have complaints about the freshness of your food.The place is clean and the tables are wiped down almost immediately after as customer leaves.The only complaints I would have is the price of the drinks, the unstable quality of food and bathroom door locks in the men's toilets!Overall, we do love this place. It is quite familiar to us now, the staff are friendly and remember our options as we tend to have the same every time. We would come every day if we could! I recommend everyone to try Chopstix at least once, you never know - you may keep coming back to this place, just like us!

I normally head into Canton for noodles but decided to take a walk into town for lunch instead. As it is the school hols most places are heaving but Chopstix was fairly quiet with only one person in the queue.I waited about 5 mins to get served as the 2 girls working seemed disinterested in providing any level of actual service.When I was served I ordered noodles with 2 toppings - chicken in black bean sauce and caramelised chicken.This cost £5.50 reasonable for the amount of food if the food tasted good (it didnt).When paying the girl didnt make eye contact. She told me how much it cost and then looked away so I was stood there holding the money out whilst she stared out the window!She did ask me if I wanted a bag though.Rather than handing me back my change she dropped it on a pile of trays and walked off.I took the food back to work (5mins walk) and it was cold - not tepid like it had cooled during the walk but cold like it had started out that way.The food itself was disgusting. The noodles were so gloopy they literally came out in a sticky lump. The black bean chicken tasted odd and was very fatty. The caramelised chicken was the only edible part and was okay.Overall not impressed with the food or the service received and would not recommend or go back. If your looking for noodles look somewhere else in town or take a short (10min) walk into Canton where you can eat at a noodle bar where they cook the foos fresh to order, you have a choice of food and they do a cheap £3.80 lunch time special

Amazing portions and great variety of food . The chicken was well flavoured and the noodles were extremely well prepared . The toilets were nice and clean considering that many of the similar food joints are not as clean as the toilet conditions in chopstix .

Decided to try chopstix restaurant whilst visiting Cardiff with a friend. The sweet and sour chicken was vile. The caramel chicken was horrible as well. Had a spring roll which looked lovely until I took a bite and the filling was all runny inside. Plus I only asked what the chicken caramel was like but it ended up in my box, because the person serving did not understand what I was saying. I left most of my meal because of the odd taste. Will not return to this restaurant

I really love the place. Food is great. But needs frendlier stuff. I was trying to choose the topping while cashier was staring at me kind of judging. Even though there were no queue. When I've chosen she threw my topping in the box as if it was in schools canteen. But Caramel chicken was so tasty, that I forgot all unfrendliness of stuff.Yummy and tasty food.

Seats about 100 customers on long benches. Good choice rice & noodles. A dozen or so toppings with sauces such as sweet & sour chicken. Korean BBQ chicken. And dry toppings such honey chicken, caramel chicken. Salt & pepper chicken & oyster chicken.Prices vary from £5-6.50 (S/M/L)I absolutely loved it & highly recommend it. Went with my two kids as you pay £4.50 for a small portion of either rice or noodles with one topping - asked if I could have the topping separate in case kids did not like the chicken - told NO - company policy!!! asked if could pay for an extra carton to put the topping in ...No Company policy - couldn't take the risk of my kids not liking the topping so ended up still paying £4.50 just for the noodles without toppings - the manageress was rude and not accommodating .. good job we did not add the topping we wanted as I tried the salt and pepper chicken and more like chilli chicken which the kids would not have eaten!!!!We won't be going back - there are plenty of independent places to eat in town who appreciate and value our money more .....sadly disappointed - they really need to think about their company policies as we were more than happy to pay extra and they just were not interested ... wish we had walked out!!

The restaurant looked inviting and as it was Halal, we gave it a try.Ordering is a simple 3 step process, choosing Rice or Noodle, chicken dishes and sides.One of our child's dishes was a little dry, so we went up and were happy to pay a £1 for an extra portion of chicken (which is the rate if ordering at the start) but staff said NO, this ain't possible. This made the experience disappointing and why I gave it 1 star less.Chopstix needs to think about the customer experience and be more willing to accommodate customers needs, it's not like anyone is asking for a freebie.We would be happy to try again as the food was nice and great for kids too.

Been here a couple of times now. On both we were well fed and watered for under £6 each. The place is always packed so others obviously enjoy it too.One criticism I would make is the chicken fried rice. It tastes a bit MSGish.

Visited the Queen Street Cardiff shop with wife and 5 year old grandson feeling hungry and very disappointed at the staff attitude. The Wife and I intended to order our meals as previous visits but were told our Grandson could not just have rice and noodles as he does not like chicken dishes. The member of staff serving us was quite rude telling us we could not have our requested meal as it was not possible. In front of me in the heated display were 2 large dishes of noodles and rice so why not as I said we would pay the price for a full meal but no was the answer. Very short sighted so they lost out on 3 meals where we purchased elsewhere.

Rice or noodles plus 1,2 or 3 choices of meat or vegetarian. Simple and to the point. Cheap for the amount of food that you get. In a couple of visits you can sample every variety and then go back to your favourite. It has just got a makeover so everything spic and span, not that it had been let get tired or beat up before this. Everything seems to be kept clean and tidy, so no worries there. If the weather is good, you can take your food to Bute Park, 5 minutes walk and dine al fresco!The Good Life.

I visited this place last Friday with my friends and we were deeply disappointed. They used to serve good quality food but now it's far from being as it used to be. I ordered chicken fried noodles which were not freshly cooked and very dry. chicken turned out to be some kind of skins or chicken fat pieces coated with sesame. I could barely find any nice chunk of chicken. Lack of seasoning and flavour. One could taste artificial flavours. If you have any taste and can distinguish good food from poor one you will notice the difference.

Quick an easy food always nice an filling. Nothing as funny as watching people struggle with chop sticks. Staff could cheer up but hay oh smile an they smile back wat more do u want for £4.50. Salt an pepper chicken is bang tidy. Love it

My friend and I went in to Chopstix as we're from a south-east Asian country and was attracted by the food choice as it reminds us of home. Turns out it was a nightmarish experience for us as we got really negative response from a staff who served us (looked like a European but definitely not local due to her English). She served my friend 1st and I was really excited seeing the food, pointing out the choices that i would take to my friend when the staff turned to me and said "EXCUSE ME. COULD YOU NOT SEE I'M SERVING HER?!" And continued to roll her eyes and scoffed at me. I wasn't even talking to her. I did not say a word and forgave her actions after that due to not letting her RUIN my holiday. Food was okay not really Asian-y taste but passable. Sadly, i do not recommend people to visit Chopstix. The shop seriously need a polite and non-biased makeover for their staff if they intend to survive. Good luck.

I had tried this place for the first time yesterday.. I was with my relative who is a regular customer there! . As we walked in , started looking at the menu board, the staff stood there with their arms crossed looking all serious! They were all foreign! The lady on the till who was Polish (I'm assuming) had disgusting attitude! I asked for a drink, I thought for a second about what to get, she sort of shouted and goes "excuse me , what do you want come on tell me now! Overall nice food, my favourite was the chicken fried noodles!

Its cheap, greasy, bland but very filling. What to say. You've had a few beers and you want that greasy hit, its fine. You want something that's fresh, tasty, cooked well by a chef with skill, then walk on.I had this on a lunch break from work. Mistake. Felt bloated and uncomfortable all afternoon. Nothing about this place is fresh or tasty. Had it been 11pm and I had a few beers then great. Typical late night stomach lining fodder, but no more. If its light, leave it!

I went here today for the first time. It looks okay from outside and the food looks nice but once served it was just sickly, sweet slop! I had some sort of chicken with lemon sauce. I would say it was proccessed chicken.The lady who served me was very abrupt and did not crack a smile once. The only positive was that it was kept clean and tidy. It was poor food for the price, I wished I had gone to burger king!

Went to see Cardiff football match,while in the city centre I noticed that large and bright restaurant, I joined the queue and managed to get my favorite sweet&sour chicken with noodles, it was yummy and the girl who served me was very helpful. SATISFIED

Popped in.. Was starving and love Chinese so gave it a go.. Definitely not customer focused which is fine but the food just didn't do nothing for me :( had large pot with noodles (very dry) lemon chicken (lovely) and caramel chicken (disgusting) not worth the £5.50 and I won't venture there again.. Not much choice either!!

Pros:Good location.Good selection of food.Food cooked in front of you.Sauce on table.Cons:Girl serving was too quiet to hear.I asked for an extra card box to help take food home, they wanted to charge 50p.You can only choose 3 items, which is a bit tight.Summary This place could be great. My advice is to employ staff who at least pretend to look happy, give more help and choice to the customers. We are not cattle.

I found the system simple for £5.50 you get a large carton and a choice of three from the buffet counter I had noodles, Thai chicken curry and chicken fried rice. I thought the food was quite tasty.There was plenty of seating for everyone and possible for a gang of you to all sit together at one table. It is a simple set up its good value for money the food was great and instant like you would find at a fast food place infact the food is a lot better than you would find at fast food places targeted at children. A big well done from me as I will visit chopstix again.

Not sure what the bad reviews were expecting I don't think they understand the restaurant's concept?? It's not a restaurant as such, it's a counter where you order from a selection of chinese foods laid out buffet style. You get to pick 3 for a medium box which is £4.50 - great value and fills me up fine. Customer service doesn't really apply, in a place like that I don't expect follow ups etc, just fast, fresh, hot food - which I've always had.

Absolutely horrible. Every aspect of my meal. -I entered, and didn't get greeted.-I tried looking at the menu, and got very pressured into ordering by a woman who didn't appear to follow general hygiene standards- When I asked about the potatoes, the staff looked at me as if I had 8 heads, and ignored my question.-No card payments available.- Literally I had £4.49 in cash, and my meal came to £4.50. I expected the lady (who spoke less than basic english) if it was ok (assuming so), and she got very angry, called her manager, who was JUST as bad, and pushed my food to the side._ They then decided to allow me to have my penny off my meal, and didn't say one more word to me.- The food was disgusting. It was cold, and blatantly pre-heated.Never re-visiting this restaurant again.

Most of the choices were gone when we stopped in. It's a huge place. It was not very pleasant. The counter staff were ok. Prices are inexpensive. The food was unimpressive. I'm sure there are better choices nearby. The location is great, though, and there was plenty of seating.

After a night out, we were desperate to eat something that wasn't saturated in fat and full of additives. The NoodleBox, conveniently siutated near Burger King and McDonalds, seemed the perfect solution.It smelt nice when we were queueing, but when being served the staff were a little pushy and non-attentive. My Partner wanted plain chicken noodles (the base for all of the dishes here) and didn't want an additional topping - The lady serving us didn't seem to understand and almost forced us to have a topping, none of which we were particularly in favour of. We ended up with a dry topping, so we could remove it.The concept is good, but we regretted not going to Wagamama's instead.
