Chiu Hing in Barnsley

Our first time here, we live fairly local and wanted to try somewhere new. This place does not disappoint, very flavoursome and authentic food. Generous portions, plenty of large chicken pieces in the chow mein and black bean. Huge spare ribs. Love it, will be back!

Hello fellow chinese enthusiasts, A week ago we travelled to the beautiful town of Barnsley to try this fine establishment, and I must say Barnsley is not as beautiful as advertised on tv. However, this chinese delighted us and our tastebuds also. To start with, we ordered salt and pepper chips. These were unlike any other salt and pepper chips we have ever witnessed and indulged upon. This place has made a name for itself, nevermind manny on the map it’s more like Barnsley on the map, due to this takeaway! Bossman seemed very average to the naked eye, but he made the salt and pepper chips different to anyone has ever made them in the history of chips. My ex said they were different to any others, they lied. Bossman dif not lie, I love people who speak the truth, like bossy wossy. Although he did not crack a smile, he holds a very special place in our hearts. We thought they were perfect, however our 3 year old son named Dave Kebab said he wished for a few more onions since he is a little bit of a weirdo. But ignore him, like we do. Next up is the noodles, I counted 127.5 noodles in the small container, which is pretty standard as we always do the pre meal noodle count. I’m glad they know the standard measurements for noodles. They were pretty plain, like Jayne my ex. Let’s just say she wasn’t very adventurous;)x if you’re reading this I love and forgive you! ***Buy our merch in the comment section, fortune cookies, was £5.99 now £5.98, buy 1 get none free!*** Last but not least was the chicken which was gorgeous, glorious and gardening! DAVE GET BACK TO BED! Sorry our son just came down crying about gardening, we meant to say green! This chicken was very nice and the use of veg was vegarious which loosely translated in Malaysian means Ducklings. Which is relatively decent. It was crispy on the inside and fluffy on the outside, like a duckling. We would recommend this chicken to all of our friends, but we don’t have any, we dedicate all our time to you guys making sure you always get the food you deserve! Remember to like and subscribe, this isn’t the life we chose, but it is our life we give up for you for just the small wage of £1.76 per hour, to share! Believe me having chinese for breakfast, lunch and dinner is hard! It’s not like in the movies. Service was terrible and will not go back. I ask for plain noodle no veg. When they brought them out the noodles had veg in them so I told them I'd ask for no veg. The guy that was serving then went on to shout at me in front of about 5 other people saying I should have ask for no veg, which I did. Have used this Chinese for years but will never go back after been shouted at. Need to someone with better communication skills serving

Just had a lovely meal from there we had the Singapore chowmein extreme hot and the Singapore fried rice extreme hot with a special curry absolutely brilliant!!!

First time ordering here for over three years, what a disappointment. Every thing was over cooked. All the dishes we ordered had hardly any meat in. Won't de going back.

SPECIAL CHOWMAIN & CHIPS... came in a polystyrene box & didn't look appetising AT ALL.. VERY GLOOPY TASTELESS SLOP & the chips was like eating leather with powder on the inside!!! JUST NO!! Must be for people who are too drunk & carnt taste anything. £8 in the bin... fair to say we'll stick to home cooking.

To say this takeaway has been recommended my a few friends it's safe to say I won't going again. Ordered special chow mein' special fried rice' special curry with salt & pepper chicken & 2 portions of chips. Chow mein was ordered with sauce and came as dry as a nuns chuff. The 2 tiny portions of chips where almost stone cold. I have ordered the same meal from loads of different takeaways and it's been more than enough to feed myself and 3 kids. This time I have had to do with out because of the tiny portions. Plus it's also more expensive that most other Chinese takeaways

Just had chicken chow mein and it was the worst ive ever had it went in the bin. My daughter did the same with hers. Wouldnt order from here again

The most disgusting food I have ever had. The chips were 're cooked and over done. The beef was inedible and unable to cut or chew. The beef curry was tasteless. The beef chowmein was also tasteless. All very over cooked. The aromatic duck was mostly inedible I know it is supposed to be crispy but it was also full of bones and nearly broke out teeth. The chicken balls were also over cooked and hard. No we will never go again. Too much rubbish to complain about they obviously know what they are serving. 27 pounds of rubbish. Also the care taken with the cucumber slices to go into the duck pancakes says it all, chunky wedges.

We would use you more if you answer the bloody phone. ring ring no answer ring ring no answer so frustrating but never mind found a better chinees takeaway now

Been tonight 7/11/20 thought I give it a go as just reopened. Had to wait outside telephone constantly ringing and not been answered. When I finally got my meal I had to return it as it was not what i ordered Need more staff and might be as good as before

Absolutely disgusting do not get chicken fried rice,chicken and mushroom and black bean help me get them sued

We have been coming here for the last 25 years plus. Over that time we have seen a couple of chef changes, and as usual they each have their own way of cooking but having said that,a couple of meals have not been to our taste but not bad over all these years. We still go on a weekly basis and haven't got a bad word for them. Staff are all very pleasent so can't complain about anything.

Received the takeaway—-. Then consumed the takeaway... not the best....3hrs latter can’t get off the toilet...mmmmmm..never again

Have used this place once before and it was fine, have phoned them this evening to make an order for delivery (worth £40) and have been told they cant deliver to Barnsley! Well guess what, i cant give you my business ever again!

Good competitive prices, good tasty food, with a decent variety available. Fast delivery service, no vague promises of delivery and failing to turn up, we order once a month and have never had any issues. Friendly staff take the order, and friendly staff deliver the food. Can’t ask for more than that.

This Chinese by far blows the rest out , amazing food , amazing customer service skills , excellent delivery service, couldn’t wish for nothing more

Really enjoyed this. Clean place, 5* on the council website for hygiene, VERY tasty food at a decent price, willing to accommodate when I asked for lean pork. Its gonna be our new regular chinese. Very impressed.

Just placed an order from Chiu Hing. Started eating a pancake roll to find something that looked like it had a tale on the end, the lady with glass on who works behind the counter who takes the order tried saying that it had not come out of the pancake roll like I had just put it in my self then brought the fresh bean sprouts out to show me they look the same. I think she is very rude and needs to learn some manners. I mean come on you put your customers first and she was calling me a liar. It made me spew the lot back up.I will not be ordering from here again the way she treated me. Very very bad customer service. I wouldn’t mind but I am a regular customer aswell but won’t be no more.

Had chicken curry and rice, chicken curry ok, boiled rice was like a block of glue would not separate with fork,had to chop it with knife,awful,ought to have taken it back.

Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Wombwell for a takeaway. The best by far! Me and family order regularly from here and always love the flavour of all the dishes. Occasionally we’ve had the odd dish forgotten in the order but nothing that doesn’t get sorted out!

First time trying here and it was lovely

was recommend here and weren't disappointed Georgeous woudent order from any were else not expensive 2 chicken in black bean sauce 3 chips portion mini spring rolls and a curry sauce 19 pound worth every penny

I don't give it 5 stars because I'm demanding that way. 5 stars is only when somewhere really goes beyond my expectations. Chiu Hing never fails my high expectations. Food is excellent. Very well priced, almost generously so. I actually feel a little bad for not giving that 5th star.

Have just made our first order to Chiu Hing & let me tell you it won't be the last! . . We have been treated. Having ordered from locals in Darfield for too long we found this gem of a Chinese on Trip & thought we'd give it a go. We were very impressed with the speed of delivery, very friendly lady on the phone who took our order tonight & best of all the food was absolutely gorgeous! We had special curry, Beef & mushrm, salt & pepper chicken & S&P chips. All was delicious, hot & the consistency of the sauces was as they should be, so on that note we'd like to say thank you to Chiu Hung & to many more orders :)

Food is always really lovely from here, lots of choice and always comes piping hot. Delivery driver is really friendly. Best salt and pepper chips around. Can’t fault it.

This is the best Chinese round here by a mile. The salt n pepper king prawn or chicken is the tastiest thing I’ve ever had! Portions are good and it’s always delivered fast and hot. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.

Really enjoy Chinese from here every time I order. No matter if you have deliver or pick up food is always quickly ready with friendly staff. Good quality and reasonable prices. My favourite and usually the choice I make king prawn curry, egg fried rice, chips, crispy shredded beef. Does me 2 days and is even nice warmed up. Sometimes special chow mien is a good choice too

Best value, most tasty, generous portions, probably the best in Barnsley.

It's OK. Never really bad but there always seems to be something not quite right (e.g. My special curry with no chicken tonight had no beef. It was pork curry with 2 king prawns. If I'd wanted a pork curry I'd have ordered that). If you're local & don't want to travel far it's fine but you'll find much better at Stairfoot (Yummy) or Darfield (Amy's).

Don't listen on phone when placing your order then when you phone up to tell them the problem they don't want to know. Told us they would phone us back within 5 minutes and never heard anything. Won't be order from there again horrible food!

I've been using this takeaway for 15 years. I've tried a load of Chinese takeaways around the Wombwell / Wath / Brampton / Hoyland areas over the years, but none match this. Well priced tasty dishes! Give it a try!

Best Chinese takeaway in the area always cooked to perfection and great delivery. With a good choice menu.

Este hubiera sido uno de los primeros sitios de comida para llevar que habia en la zona desde que empecé a venir por aquí hace muchos años. Fueron entonces y me sabroso cuidado de alta calidad a través de los años. Rápido, sabroso y a un precio razonable. Yo recomendaría a cualquiera en la zona que se encuentra bastante guapo comida para llevar para ir. No está en Wombwell Barnsley. A 10 minutos de la M1 J36 y a 5 minutos de la Dearne Valley Parkway. Aparcamiento está siempre disponible y hay una tienda enfrente si necesita uno.
