Chiquito - Hatfield in Welwyn Hatfield

Lovely staff,lovely food and drinks. Clean and organised. I have never been to Chiquito however when I arrived the I was kindly greeted by Maria at the door with a warm welcome which made me look forward to the food.

I went here after being at the cinema. When I entered, it was ok and had nice decoration. When I sat down, the moved us. There was a colouring sheet that was fun for the kids. I ordered chips and when the came they were so undercooked and cold. My drink was yummy though. I felt sick after eating. We will not come back again but all I can say is that the activities are nice. They also charged us for something we did not get.

Had lunch here. The food was ok, nothing exceptional but adequate. Staff were friendly but need to smarten up as they did look a bit scruffy.

I just wanted to write a review and tell you how incredible your blonde manager is! (I’m sorry I didn’t catch your name!) I was watching her take control of the whole restaurant, interact with the kitchen, customers and staff and she was insane! She is a huge asset to you and one of the best you will find. (11 years hospitality behind me I can vouch for this!)Thank you so much for the fantastic service!

Ate here with my friend on Tuesday 10th September. Our waitress (I think she was a manager?) was probably the loveliest and friendliest server I’ve ever encountered. We had a great time and enjoyed all the food! Thanks x

We hadn't eaten here for a while and went on impulse after a day out. The service was great and the staff really friendly. My daughter has an egg allergy, which can often create problems, but the staff here were first-class; helpful, understanding and very clear on what could and could not be eaten. There were five of us (youngest 15yo) and we all really enjoyed our food. We used our tastecard and the bill for five starters, mains and a round and a half of drinks was £85. We will definitely not wait for so long before we return.

Was passing by this restaurant, looking for somewhere to eat as a crowd with many children, not expecting much for me I went in. Asked if they did anything for vegans and was handed a substantial vegan menu. Starters, mains, desserts even, many choices... heaven. Had vegan nachos, no small effort, even has melted vegan cheese and vegan creme fraiche on it, superb, followed by the main event Vegan Fiesta Fajita, that was one of the best vegan meals I've had in a restaurant in many years, superb and quite a spectacle. Dessert was fresh hot vegan churros with chocolate dip, I kid you not, Delighted I was.Everyone else ate heartily, all the kids happy with what they ordered. Prices were mid-range for that sort of restaurant, quite reasonable really. Service was excellent, our waitress did an absolutely superb job.Would definitely recommend Chiquitos to anyone that likes Tex-mex.

We went for a meal for my best friends birthday. Our waitress called Marta, was very friendly, efficient and polite. She even sang happy birthday with a complimentary brownie. Lovely touch! She made our experience easy and enjoyable. The food was good too, we had the sharing platter of Tacos which was great.

Yesterday have nice meal whit friends, food was very nice and hot drinks amazing like always, the churros was hot and soft, resuming have nice time, return whit no problems

Great service with a genuine smile and a joke. No problem at all that we just wanted drinks and we enjoyed the original drinks on offer..... the rhubarb and hibiscus sling was pretty to look at and refreshing- just what we needed. Thank you

Another visit to Galleria and another visit to chiquito, steak fajita perfect as always. Noticed vegan menu but didnt try this time.

Brilliant food, tasty, good service and quick, cheap and just overall a good restaurant. I would 100% recommend. They even have a Gluten Free menu for those who need it.

My fiancé and I visited the Hatfield Chiquito as we had been craving nachos since our last visit. We ordered the fully loaded nachos with chicken and chorizo and this is what we got.....! Certainly not full loaded! This is supposed to serve 2-4 people and cost £12!!!! Absolute joke, won’t be back in a hurry. Waitress blamed it on changing to serving on a plate instead of a bowl, what a load of BS

I was really looking forward to chilli poppers and margaritas. However the other dishes weren't very nice, in particular the prawns were too greasy

Lots of mexican dishes to choose from. What we ordered tasted nice, but a bit dissapointed from the meat portion inside them. The waitress named Hayley, was really polite and helpfull.

Conveniently located inside the Galleria Hatfield. Good food and friendly staff greeted us after the cinema, hotdogs and popcorn just weren’t wanted, so we chose Chiquito. An easy to navigate menu with plenty of choice.

Came here with friends and there were only 3 or 4 other tables with people on so not busy. We ordered our food and it came within 15 mins. The only problem was that I didn't receive what I had ordered and when challenged she wouldn't believe that the food in front of me wasn't what I ordered. After a couple of minutes going back and forth, the waitress agreed to change the food to what I originally ordered. This finally came once everyone else had finished their meals so I had to eat whilst everyone else watched!

Best bit here was the guy doing cocktails.

Grabbed an early dinner at 5.30pm and there was plenty of room on a Tuesday evening. The staff were friendly and personable. We ordered 2 different fajitas, a mocktail and coke zero. The drinks arrived with paper straws and the food was well presented and tasted delicious. The music and the atmosphere really helped our dining experience as we were able to have a conversation without having to shout.

Came for late lunch after shopping in Galleria. Ordered 2 cocktails and 2 fajitas. Great value for money. Food was amazing and will recommend the place to my friends and family.

We came here for lunch. The food is really good. We enjoyed it and it was very tasty. The service on the other hand was so slow. We had to wait for a long time for our food. Despite the resturant not being busy.

One of the most horrible visits in a restaurant wht we ever had. When we entered, we have been set down after couple minutes. After 2 seconds a lady was there for our drinks order, it was bit fast we wven couldn't have a look on the menu, anywy wish that we have ordered our food in that minute with her. She left and brought our drinks. After that a great hospitality service started. There been quite few people on the floor but big surprise, only one taking orders, the same lady who has taken our drinks. She was going table to tableand taking orders but not in a hurry way. She spent at least 20 mins taking on of the orders in the corner. Then a coule walked in the door behind us who said they have cinema so they will have to run. Then she came to another table around us which was already waving on her. While she was taking the order from them another lady taken the order from the table which had to run to cinema. Interesting it was because they came at least half hour later then us. Then after a while the original "order taker" arrived to our table. We asked is the food tkaing the same lenght of time as the order was? She said they are very busy so she doesn't know but if I want she can ask the kitchen. She came back with a 40 mins answer. I just asked for the bill. After 45 mins, us beeing sitting drinking diet coke and an orange juice, the lady brought the bill, I have paid and we left. Maybe after all this they could say don't worry about the drinks, but that's ok, we all work for money. Myself beeing a restaurant manager I would resign from my job if I would mange like this. I know what busy is coming from Central London and trust me this wasn't. Bad management, bad hospitality, not organised, still can't believe they even did not take our order after half hour. Oh dear, avoid this place, there are many in this shopping centre. At the wnd we had a good dinner in the Pizza Express on the first floor.

Food is what you expect, nice enough with decent drinks. Nothing too special.

Was only 2 working but still one was fine no issues friendly and thoughtful the other needs to learn basic customer service skills and lose the false nails.. shame as food was nice just bland and to plain for what place this is suppose to be.

The ambience in Here is absolutely amazing. The decorations are awesome and the staff are wonderful.

the onion rings were very well done. service was friendly and good. took a while for food to arrive, however all was well when it did because it was very nice, especially the onion rings. would recommend to my friends. onion rings were spot on. when we got there, there were not many people which was surprising as the food and onion rings were delicious and it was a nice looking place. not many improvements needed. the onion rings were perfect, by the way

It’s a shame that all chain restaurants aren’t the same. This is one of the better Chiquitos in Hertfordshire. It was relatively quiet which was good as there was a lone waitress. She was exceptionally efficient! Our main meal arrived so quick and was very nice. My granddaughter was being a bit cranky that day but the staff were quite happy to wait for her to eat her food and wander around the restaurant. A very pleasant environment that’s restored my faith in Chiquitos.

After strolling by a dozen of restaurants in The Gallery shopping mall, me and my friend decided to give a chance for the attractive western styled Chiquito. By the time we sat down we already received our funny hats and some amazingly tasty beers. Lots of dishes to choose from, decent prices. We ordered a large starter plate with a huge fajita main dish. All beyond expectations - pleasent mild but firmly spicy, grilled to perfection. Enjoyed every moment!

Come here for lunch and to honest the food was a bit rubbish. I went for the chicken burger with pulled pork and it just had no flavour along with a lack of BBQ sauce. No salt on the tables which was strange. Staff nice and friendly but the chef needs a career change me thinks

Came for a midweek meal with my daughter. Friendly welcome by the waiter and was served quickly. We ordered chicken fajita which was fresh and sizzling and the prawn jambalaya which was also tasty. Couldn't leave without trying their different desserts baked banana stuffed with brownie and ice cream and a Mexican mess which has little chirros in. Oh wow, they were delicious. With a meerkat offer it was a really nice meal for a great price. Well done chiquitos

We visited this restaurant twice and we were both times very satisfied. The first time we had fajitas which I recommend. The second time we just had a variety of starters which were also very tasty.

We eat at Chiquito's in Hatfield regularly and absolutely love it here. The staff are always very accommodating and helpful especially as my daughter is in a wheelchair and they always go out of their way to help us find a suitable table and make our visit so enjoyable. Just booked for her 14th Birthday and they were so helpful with choosing the best table to sit our party. Food is always amazing - especially the fajitas ! Love it here and can not fault in any way.

The food was very good apart from the chilli. Pleasant staff but one in perticlar was alittle too eager to take our order....not giving us much time to decide. Price wise good value for money.

Been to this Chiquitos many times as I am a local student, and TIME AFTER TIME this place delivers. Amazing food (especially the fajitas!), amazing place and even better service. Couldn’t be happier with the manners and effort this staff put in to making sure I had the best meal I’ve had in years. Come to this place ASAP!!!!! A waitress and supervisor especially come to mind when I think of the fantastic service I received.

It’s a chain,but the food was good, hot and the staff attentive. Ideal for a quick lunch and the menu has lots of choices for all. I would re attend this and those within the chain for a quicker bite.

This chiquitos is by far the best one in Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The service is impeccable and the staff are trained to a high standard. The range of drinks including cocktails is fantastic and the food always tastes great, is well presented and is cooked well. The waiting time is better than expected and the restaurant is clean and well maintained including the toilets!

Took my daughter and family to Hatfield last night to celebrate her birthday. We have often been before and as expected the food was very good and the service friendly and efficient. However disappointed this morning when checking the bill to find the name of our waitress, found I’d been charged for bottle of Prosecco instead of a glass! Up side is we got a discount code which took £20 off the bill so ended up fairly even. My fault I should have checked before I paid :( Won’t put us off going though.

Wow really good visit. Have been before and its been very bad but heard it was under new management and you can really tell the difference. Staff happy and very good. Food lovely. We Will be back.

While shopping the Mrs and I popped in for lunch. We found the music to be too loud but the food was very nice. The price is average. I would recommend.

Went for lunch with my son , lovely place, great food and very good waitress. We had nachos and burritos which were hot and very tasty. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly couldn’t fault her . Would definitely go back again.

Went here on a Thursday evening for my daughters 13th birthday with her sister and best friend. The service was quick and the drinks were lovely. The food was a bit disappointing though. It was perfectly edible but nothing special.

Went to Chiquito in Hatfield on my birthday on the 8th June. Looking at the menu it looked amazing and we was very excited. However, the service was so unorganised. The waiter who served us got our starter order wrong. Nobody knew what they was doing, our food was left on the hot plate and all the staff walked past without a care in the world. My boyfriend got a beef burger with chorizo - the burger was over cooked and did not even taste like beef (it was so disgusting) the chorizo was non existent, literally 4 chips on the plate it was hardly edible. My dish was the Chimichanga with Chicken, it was bland and with next to no chicken. It had hardly any filling and was very greasy.

Our waiter was very helpful and very welcoming.

So I quit like Chiquito however our recent experience here was a bit ridiculous..

As a family we had a craving to have some Mexican food and we decided to check out CHIQUITO. Booked a table through OpenTable app. Which was very easy. Chiquito is located at the Hatfield Galleria and plenty of parking (Just a warning on Saturday its a flat rate of £3, which is a total rip off!). Greeted upon arrival and asked where we would like to be seated. The decor is lovely, friendly staff. We started with the Ultimate Sharer followed by Build your Burrito, Five Bean Chilli, Chicken & Pulled Pork burger, all of them arrived promptly. The food was presented beautifully, tasty and good portions. We thoroughly enjoyed the scrumptious meal and finished the feast with Churros with Strawberry & Colocate dip. Highly recommend Chiquito for authentic Mexican food.

The waiter got my order as I g so I didn't have the meal I wanted. He offered to change it in the end but by that time I couldn't be bothered with the hassle and wanted to get out.

Having a great dinner. This is the second time I’m in Chiquito. Highly suggest beef chilli chimichanga for main, Espresso Martini for drink and Mexican Mess for dessert. Amazing food. Asked the guy for help choosing 2 different cocktails but we were given 2 same drinks. I asked him again and turned out we got 2 more free cocktails from two guys named Dan and Jack. Fantastic customer service. Wonderful experience.

I came and celebrated my birthday here on the 18th December. There was a group of 18 of us and as it was around Christmas we emailed over what we wanted for starter, main and dessert. We booked for 7pm and until 8pm they had a happy hour which was perfect as we were celebrating my birthday. Every single person was happy with there meal, food was warm, all came out together and sooooo good! The cocktail were amazing, and they have a wide range, I absolutely loved their pornstar daiquiris (think I had about 3!)

Friendly staff quick service ideal after cinema trip. The children's menu choices are varied but for teenagers more than tots.

Service is lovely and welcoming. Interior is artistic and homely feeling. The music isn't loud, you can hear the jams as you chew, but is also enjoyable for background noise as you catch up with whoever you are with. Very suitable for family, friends, dates or a lunch meal. The food is tasty and affordable. I love Mexican food! Not to forget the drinks ^_^ tasty and worth every penny. I'm happy

We go to Chiquitos in Hatfield very often.The most brilliant thing there as well as the food is the service. All the waiters and waitresses are brilliant.A gentleman named Halim who we are generally lucky to be served by is fantastic. So polite and looks after us all the time.looking forward to going there again in a few weeks

The chefs remembered how to do a dish I love, they used to have it on the menu but no longer. The "chiquito" brand of beer in a bottle is very nice. Hic!!!

Just visited Chiquitos in Hatfield and had a great experience. The food (Street food) was incredible, and our waiter - Jack W - was very friendly. Also, my mate Beth said she shared her first kiss with a guy called Jack W so that's gotta be a good sign. She also enjoyed out Chiquitos experience. Will definitely be coming back :)

Came for dinner (26/07) walked in and asked "Do you have a table for 2?" The member of staff replied "You would think so, but we've only got 2 chef's on tonight!" There was no options given, it may take a while, reduced menu, nothing, he just watched us turn away and walk out.I could've understood it had the restaurant been full but it was only about a third full. Seems like a really strange business plan, no customers, no profit, closure!Won't be rushing back!

Me and my friend came here for dinner as were promptly seated. We ordered a cocktail and this was well made. There was plenty of choice for us, being vegeterian sometimes can be hard to find something. The food came pretty quickly and we had a great time here.

Went here with the wife and in-laws, all of us enjoyed the food and the service from Jack W was stellar. Would happily return.

Me and my friends went to Chiquita after seeing Dunkirk the food took 40 mins to arrive and they refused to accept payment also not allowing us to leave
