Chiquito - Ashton Moss in Tameside

Came here for dinner whilst staying nearby, fantastic food, cocktails were great and our waiter Pete was the best waiter Ever on hand if we needed anything. Great value for money tasty and you didn’t have to wait forever for your food. Would love to go again it it wasn’t 3 hours away from home.

Six adults three starters each had a 'main'. Two of the chips were cold, one of the mains was fridge cold which is shocking for pork. I had to send it back. When it was returned everyone had pretty much finished so sat eating on my own.The taco meal was ample for a child but left the adult hungry.The paella was wet and stodgy and looked like a Tesco microwave paella.£10 for three cokes which were half ice??We were going to have a gin and tonic but £12 for two gin and tonics?? Really?So three small starters (and I mean small), six main meals (some cold and the others small and uninspiring) no desserts and a soft drink each £140. I shudder to think what the bill would have been if we'd had a couple of beers and some desserts. I estimate it would be around £250 if we did which is crazy for what is basically fast food.The whole meal smacked of preprepared, frozen, microwaved stuff tbh. If I had to describe it...think ready meals from Iceland. I challenge them to prove to me they don't have a van delivering trays of frozen prepared foods daily.I should have guessed when we walked in and it was two thirds empty at 7pm on a bank holiday weekend what we were in store for. Reading some of the reviews on here I'm thinking that either I'm very picky or some people wouldn't know a good restaurant if it hit them in the face.My youngest son thinks a MaccyD is fine dining and even he left most of his meal and mumbled "Won't be bothering again".On a positive note the staff are upbeat, helpful and courteous. There's a huge gap in the market for somewhere to offer plain and simple, affordable freshly produced meals for families to dine out with. Someone hurry up and do it please.We all went for freshly made Donuts and ice-cream on the way home to cheer us up.

Excellent food and service! Drinks are the best in town. We had beef nachos to start, chicken and pork fajitas for our mains and then churros as a dessert. They have 241 cocktails, could I ask for more? Will definitely come again.

First click and collect order was successful. Got the meal deal and we both thought the food was fresh and good quality, it was also still hot! I liked the tortillas on the side. My only gripe is you only get 4 churros with the meal deal which I think is stingy for 2 adults! We also ordered the garlic tortilla with cheese - lovely thin garlic bread. We really enjoyed it.

Received our order with half of it missing. When we ring the staff claimed he had bagged it personally and it should be in the bag. Needless to say we had called up as it wasn’t. There was nothing they could do and told us to just reorder the missing pieces! Strangely not made of money. Will not be visiting again.

OMG, all you vegans out there need to check out the new vegan loaded wedges at Chiquitos. They are soooo delicious, sooo awesome and soooo very addictive. I’m going to have to find out what cheese they use and where they get their vegan chorizo from because the wedges are sooooo mourish. The melted cheese on these wedges has to be the best vegan cheese that I’ve ever had. Yummylicious.It was a click and collect order and once I’d placed it online, i called up to make sure they knew it was all vegan. Orlando answered the phone and took very good care of me, making sure everything was vegan and treating me like a VIP. What’s more, he also threw in two deserts (Lava cake with ice cream) for FREE because there had been a mix up on our last order. What a guy!We LOVE this restaurant. For our main meal, we had the vegan fiesta fajita, sweet potato fries and corn on the cob, which is our usual order and it constantly delivers a 10/10 food experience.THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.Chiquito, if you are reading this, please keep the vegan loaded wedges. I know that they were put on the menu because of Veganary but it would be ever so kind of you if you could make them a permanent fixture. Can’t wait for lockdown to end and get back inside your restaurant. See you soon guys.

Home delivery via Uber due to lockdown, food was on time and absolutely beautiful, one of my favourite restaurants.

With being in lockdown, we decided to order a click and collect. We were unsure how it would stack up to eating at the restaurant but the good news is that it exceeded our expectations. I had a few questions with regards to our order and so I telephoned the restaurant before ordering online to see if somebody could help me. Pete answered and was very helpful. He made me feel very confident that all our food was going to be vegan. When I collected, I met Pete who was very professional and super friendly. The food was piping hot and ready on time. He asked if I had written a review in the past and I said yes and he said how grateful the restaurant was. What a nice touch. An even better one was that the restaurant had thrown in 2 x free chocolate coconut lava cakes with coconut ice cream. Wow, that’s what you call great service. When I got back home and we started to eat the takeaway, we were very impressed. Of course, it could never be as good as eating in the restaurant but for a takeaway it was 5 out of 5. We started with the garlic tortilla with cheese which was delicious and for the main had 2 x vegan fiesta fajitas which were superb with mouth watering sides of corn on the cob, spiced rice and sweet potato fries. Highly recommend.

My brother and I are both vegan and when we booked online, we told them we were vegan and asked for a booth.This was our first visit to the place.The meal was booked for 1pm on a Sunday and when we got there, even though they’d only been open an hour, they had quite a few people in, a good sign.First if all, they were very COVID-proofed, spotlessly clean interior, staff with visors/face masks, kitchen staff all had masks, plexiglass separating tables, hand sanitizers etc. They were also remarkably welcoming when we arrived and were well aware we we were both vegan. Our server was awesome and extremely accommodating. Rather than panic about the fact we are both vegans - which does happen in some restaurants we’ve been to - she was confident and knew exactly what to say and what questions to ask us. She kept double checking that what we;d order was all vegan friendly and also that there’d be no cross contamination with the fryers.To start we shared 1 x GARLIC TORTILLA (With Cheese) and it was delicious. It was a Tortilla covered in garlic, parsley and cheese, then baked. 10/10.For the Mains we ordered 2 x VEGAN FIESTA FAJITA and not only did they come out beautifully presented, they also tasted delicious, full of many flavours. The mains were Oumph! served with Violife vegan cheese - Unlimited tortillas served with a sizzling skillet of seasoned peppers and onions, grated cheese, sour cream, salsa and guacamole. We also asked for BBQ sauce x 2.For the Sides (to share) we had 1 X sweet potato fries, 1 X spiced fries and 2 X CORN ON THE COB.We both loved the place, really cool setting, awesome food, great service and all the food came piping hot and in a very short wait time for the food to arrive. This will now be a regular for us. Strongly recommend, especially if you are vegan / Vegetarian.

Just had a lovely meal with my partner here tonight, both courses (starters and mains) were absolutely perfect and we will definitely be returning!! Evie was really nice, friendly and so attentive to us when serving our meals, checking if we need anything else and taking the bill, we couldn’t have asked for more :) There was a young lad going’s round non stop cleaning aswell (door handles, cubicle walls/doors etc absolutely everything) which is obviously really nice and reassuring for people who may be nervous leaving the house at the moment as he honestly literally didn’t stop! Thankyou for a lovely night and amazing meal

We visited here as a couple. The waitress was warm and friendly. Food was fresh and really tasty. Great to see Chiquitos back open! The loaded churros were amazing! Keep up the great work. This place always picks great waiting staff it’s a pleasure to go and that has continued despite the recent restrictions.

We visited here for a family meal a few days ago. The waitress was extremely polite and professional. I have an allergy to lentil and she took note and went to speak to the chef. Then the manager came over to speak to me and discuss my allergy and made a note of it in there allergy book. The meal was hot and very nice. My daughter's fajitas could have done with some cheese and sour cream but aside from that the food and service were second to none. We will be back.

My evening in Chiquitos was an absolute shambles to the point I was almost embarrassed for the staff working there. We had a group of 7, split on to 2 tables due to covid which was fine. We sat down and my group of 3 ordered our drinks main and starters as did our other group of 4. Drinks and starters came fine and tasted nice. Our colleagues on the table next to us then got their main meals. We were assured 5 mins for ours, then 5 mins later we were told again 5 mins, then again and again! At the half hour mark and after hearing what sounded like a plate being dropped, the waitress came over to our table to tell one of my group that the steak that was part of their meal had ran out (not sure why it took 30 mins to tell us this though). We agreed on a replacement and then waited, and waited and waited. Around 30 mins later so 75 mins after ordering our food finally arrived. My meal was given to my colleague who started eating as you would after waiting so long, then his came and was given to me so I had to swap bits of it to make it right. My halloumi fries had obviously been sat under a heat lamp for an hour so we’re a congealed mess, my chicken and pulled pork was crusty on top and dry as it felt like it had been under the same heat lamp while the kitchen did what ever they did to sort out what we ordered. The restaurant did give us our drinks for free which is something but as I wasn’t drinking alcohol, 2 free lemonades doesn’t come close to making up for the total shambles that we endured. The only slight positive was the waiting staff who were very apologetic to our situation but there was no manager to be seen to apologise for what went on. Do yourself a favour and go to TGI Fridays next door as we had the night before and got great food and service.

Called in for lunch as the wife fancied tacos.It was quiet (CV-19 kicking in) and te fod was very good. Tacos for her and chimichanga for me. The onion rings were the best I have had and the corn on the cob was the juiciest I have eaten.It may be a little pricey but very enjoyable.

Great Breakfast.... mini fry up comes greatly recommended by my 7 year old. Atmosphere is relaxed and staff are attentive

We came here last minute as the Chinese buffet was closed. We was seated straight away. Quick and friendly service when you are greeted at the door. Our waitress was called Kessandra and she is amazing! She’s very polite and helpful when ordering, and seemed genuinely happy to be there! Would recommend coming here as the service is incredible and the price is really good for what you get.

Tonight I came with my partner on our anniversary, was undecided on which meal to have decided upon BBQ chicken and pulled pork fajitas, and let me tell you I wasn't expecting them to taste so good, definitely my go to order

We visited tonight for my cousins birthday meal. The food was delicious and the service was great. We came as a party of 10 and they seated us straight away. Service was excellent. Sharon and Ewa provided flawless service throughout our visit. They never stopped smiling and cheerily took our order. The drinks arrived quickly and were delicious - would recommend the strawberry margarita and chipotle ginger beer! Sharon brought our food over in a flash. It wasn’t hard to get a hold of her when we needed something and nothing was too big of an ask. Would recommend on service alone, however food was also delicious! We had the halloumi bites and habanero chicken strips to start, followed by a chicken burrito (no beans!) and enchilada. 5* visit all round!

The food was just as good as I remember it from a few years back when I last visited the area (ESPECIALLY the garlic tortilla and dulche de leche churros) and service from the front of house staff and Sharon especially was great, laughs and smiles all round! Would love to visit with the team again.

Came here because Nando’s was too full, MATE should have just gone to the grass and ate that because it would have been nicer and had more flavour. Over priced and bland, paid nearly £17 for fajitas that came on a heap of onions and pepper, I got garlic prawns as the meat for this and they was bland tasteless and didn’t even come in as sort of source. I DO NOT RECOMMEND, save ur money. I shall never return here again. The only good thing was that our waitress and the staff was lovely.

Went for a meal at Ashton-under-Lyne today .we have always gone to another restaurant near by but food and service not been good .We had the best food here hot and spaced out nicely not feeling rushed .There was two lovely waitresses sorry carnt remember names but they were on point with service very smiley and attentive..The whole staff and experience was great.would definitely recommend and we will be going again many thanks service and food makes a great experience

So I have only been here once before and it was ok but since then, they have took a big step up like everyone with me had a lot of fun, the staff are nice and wonderful, the food I had last time was good but this time it was perfect and when I found out they did churros I almost died. I love churros. I have never wrote a review before so for my first one I thought I would write one about the best.

As in the title I almost left before I ate. Thank fully the food and the service made up for the loose tables, over priced drinks, random and just a tad too loud music and lack of wet napkins.... as beautiful as the food was it was rather messy! Overall I would definitely recommend... again the food was flawless and the staff are lovely!
