Top notch fish and chip shop. 😋I went in a bit sceptical 🫣. But I was very very pleased with my fish and chips. 🤯😎Chips were nice and chunky and the cod was of decent size. 🤗Both were really delicious. 🤤Was worth whatever I paid for them. 🤭😊

The best fish and chips shop in Carshalton and quite possibly for a bigger area than that (I come up from Mitcham Junction just to get food from them). The owners (Mary and Des) are wonderful and Mary often does charity runs, marathons and other events for the community.

Might be a one off and arrived just before closing but chips were horrible, greasy, soggy and lots of scraps. Couldn't eat them. .

This is not only the best fish & chip shop in Carshalton but it is one of the best in the whole of South London. Staff are extremely friendly and always welcoming (even when they are busy and/or we come in late!) and the food itself is outstanding. Chipsmiths is one of the jewels in the Carshalton crown, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Our favourite take away. They have worked so hard to stay open during these uncertain times, with brilliant social distancing measures. You can order in advance on Saturday nights, and must on Fridays.The food is freshly cooked, never sat sitting waiting to be sold in grease. The haddock is always delicious. It tastes great and the service is as friendly as ever.

Best fish and chips around. Not greasy at all, fresh fish and crispy chips. 1 large chips and 3 medium cod is plenty for a family of 3. Good value for money and super friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

Always so friendly and always delicious fish and chips. This is a take-away and we have been having their fish and ship every week on a Saturday since the lockdown in March 2020. It's definitely looked forward to each week.

Absolutely top chippy. The fish is always immaculate- never greasy; never mushy; just perfect. And the chips are just as they should be- slightly crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inner. Whenever I get that fish and chips craving, I jump on the bus just to go to Carshalton; I pass several other chippies on the way but none of them can hold a candle to Des and Mary’s quality- both of food and of service. I can’t recommend Chipsmiths enough.

Great, friendly customer service from Mary & Des and despite Covid, they are running everything efficiently and safely. By far the best chips in the area, everything always tastes fresh and hot - only downside is pukka pies (Peters are far better ;) ).

Have to say I have always enjoyed this fish and chip shop. Always great chip's, fish and sausages. Not sure why but today's chips were soggy. Maybe it's because they have changed the potatoes they use but I hope the chips go back to there normal standard soon.

Nowhere near as nice as when Sharon was there. Hadn't been back in ages des is still there but certainly wasn't the same as I remember

Amazing fish and chip shop. I used to live in the area and visit often, on my lunch or for dinner. Never had a bad takeaway. Recently moved away miss it very much as it's quite rare in this area to find such a high standard of chippy!

So many visits here, and it’s always good. Friendly staff who are very polite and helpful. Sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes but that’s no more than you would expect as it is a busy takeaway and the fish is prepared to order, it’s worth the wait for a premium product.

Well what can I say about chipsmiths that the fish and chips is out of this world cooked fresh to perfection chips are crisp and crunchy not greasy at all and the pukka pies are delicious staff are very friendly and chatty with excellent service very highly recommended by myself and others so for a great nights fish and chip supper or dinner then chipsmiths is your place

I have used this chippy on many occasions and it’s always very good. The staff are great, friendly and efficient. You will get a good meal here.

Either they mixed up my order, or it was overpriced. Asked and paid for large cod and chips, but got what from others places would be medium. Food was OK, but will not return.

I love going to Chipsmiths. The staff there are very friendly and the food they make is absolutely top quality. Traditional fish and chips there. They have a good range of food including a kids menu. 100% would recommend to anyone. 10/10

The food is excellent, I find the fish is always moist and the chips are delicious. The service is always friendly with a smile and a chat. Just what you want from a local restaurants. There are other chip shops around but I think this is the best one

Nice chips, small portions. First time here having read good reviews Ordered large cod and chips. Normally we can never finish a large portion, but this left us hungry. Large cod and chips compared to other places looked small. Nicely cooked and tasty, but poor VFM. Will not be returning.

A few years ago my hubby placed their first review ... and I'm pleased to say we are still regular visitors ... you always get a warm welcome and the fish n chips are fresh, crisp & tasty ... the portions are good and value for money ... had a lovely piece of haddock the other day - you have to wait about ten minutes for other fish but well worth it - and it was delicious ...

It was ok, pie was more gravy than meat and the chips had lots of little hard ones in. But maybe people like that? Fish was good.

Have had fish & chips from Chipsmiths for years on and off and always liked the food. Unfortunately we have noticed on last few visits the chips don’t taste so good. Not sure whether it’s the oil or whether the potato’s are different but it just isn’t as nice as it used to be. Service is still friendly as always. Leaving this hoping they identify what’s up and change it back.

They have just opened so their are kinks to iron out but the food is good, fish cooked fresh which is a good touch and the staff are very friendly. I'd highly recommend.

Went in here quite early Wednesday evening and it was already very busy. Had a takeaway of large cod and chips + onion rings for 2 of us for £11. All lovely and hot - there was a 15 minute wait because they were so busy. Must remember to order in advance next time!
