The best Chinese restaurant for miles around! Food and service are second to non and the whole ambience of the restaurant makes it a great place to dine.

Business lunch, can't go wrong 3 courses £13. Excellent value for money, very busy for a Wednesday

Went here over the bank holiday weekend looked exactly the same as what it looked like in the 1980s place is nice but the food wasn’t great My special curry was served cold and it was very runny like a soup, the hot and sour soup tasted like too much sugar was added and the chips were reheated and greasy asked for fresh ones and was brought back some more reheated just as bad as the first lot. My partner had the cantonese fillet strak. The steak was tasty but sauce agsin was extremely sugary snd thick. Come on guys put some attention to detail and serve some good food PS Staff provided excellent service

My husband and I went to this restaurant for dinner after saying we should go for quite some time, well to say the red flag was raised from the get go was a understatement, to begin when my husband called to book the man on the phone was rude and could not wait to get off the phone, then when we walked in to restaurant we ordered drinks and received the menu which stated ‘if you have an allergy please speak to staff who will be more than happy to help’ reading the menu there is nothing there to help people with allergies such as listing ingredients, then when the gentleman walked over to take our order my husband who has a nut allergy which send him in to anaphylaxis asked if a sauce had nuts in, the response we got infuriated me, the man simply said we do not cater for allergies, (this should have been stated when booking) the next thing out of his mouth to my husband was terrible, he said you should know, it’s your responsibility and if I was you, you should drink your drinks and go, then he said but if you want to risk it, its on you I couldn’t believe what I heard, my husband and I got up and left there and then absolutely disgusting customer service and dangerous place for those with allergies, this place is a accident waiting to happen and should be shut down if they can not list the ingredients and cater for allergies or at minimum when taking bookings let them know the place is not safe for people with allergies!

Very cold at the back of the restaurant, I had to keep my winter coat on and scarf on during that meal.the staff was in hurry and a bit abrupt ,we were very clear when ordering ,but the staff kept asking what we wanted ,they seemed not focusing enough, no one smiled

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They checked on how our meal was and regularly asked if we needed any more drinks. We ordered the celebration banquet for 4. There was more than enough food to go around and was and was so tasty

The building is wonderful, it has a very opulent and ornate Asian style and has plenty of parking. Though it is quite chilly, so dress warmly for your visit. The food is the normal Chinese menu with no surprises but still nice. I went at lunch time on a Thursday which is 12 to 2pm and was quite popular with two thirds of the restaurant full. Our waiter was efficient but hurried and a little abrupt. The chap who brought our food out was lovely, very chatty, joking and making sure we had what we needed. As we were a later booking so half way through our main we were asked for dessert orders as the chef was about to leave. We were grateful he managed to fit in our banana and pineapple fritters before he left! Overall a nice meal but the place just didn't have any atmosphere and apart from the one member of staff nobody really smiled or were very friendly though they were efficient and it was chilly. Not a wonderful experience but not bad either just quite mediocre which is a shame because the building is wonderful.

Absolutely awful, worst dining out experience I’ve ever had. We arrived ahead of the rest of the party and asked to sit in the bar area, a member of staff, quite abruptly said no we had to go to the table. We sat for 15 minutes before anyone came to take a drinks order and then another 20 minutes before ordering food. Service was really slow, some people had finished their starter before the rest arrived. Four of the group sent their main courses back as they were cold, when they were brought back two had to be sent back again as still cold. No apologies from the staff. Once again people were finished their mains before others had started theirs. Took ages to clear plates and offer desserts. Not sure what has happened to this restaurant as used to be excellent but certainly won’t be going back as spoiled a special event for our party.

Just tried to book a table and they put the phone down on me. Very rude and won't be going back. The man who answered the phone didn't booking and put phone down .

Been coming here for years but got a shock today! They have started charging £1 for Ketchup, Chilli Oil, salt and pepper. An extra £4 on the already inflated fixed lunch prices. They also charge £2 for soda water! Such a shame as it used to be such a friendly, nice, honest place.

If you like good Chinese food then this is the place !!! Well worth the drive if you're not local ! No complaints at all !

Ordered my scran at half 7 it's now half past 9 and I'm still waiting. Should have put my order in last Friday it might have come by now. Starting to think China Delight is actually in China and not England. Are they cooking my salt and pepper chicken by leaving it next to a high wattage light bulb? Are they frying my rice by the grain? Peeling the spuds with a pencil sharpener? Fuming as well cos I had a white magnum in the freezer for my afters but that's gone already because i'm obviously pya hungry. I rang up to find out what's happening with my food and was on hold for 5 minutes while they were looking for my order which isn't great. I think I'm starting to hallucinate a little bit as well now the couch is beginning to look like a spring roll. I just want curry sauce coursing through my veins, is that too much to ask? This is the worst Saturday of my life.

Another great night thankyou to John and all the staff for a great birthday meal and looking after us all,be back soon.

Great food, super friendly staff, surely the best Chinese food in the UK

Just had a takeaway from these guys. Was very disappointed with it as it was quite watery. Not that much taste and a huge amount of what felt like old huge onions and lots of veg.beef curry and sweet sour 🥴

I'm changing my review. Just spoken to an absolute idiot on the phone after trying to book a table. Disgusting way to speak to customers when trying to book a table. I bet everyone gets the same treatment too becuse I chose to ignore this attitude previously, but not now. Saying you have to leave at 2 o'clock because the kitchen closes and that you have to eat fast because we need the table after one and a half hours of sitting down.

First time there tonight, very pleasant staff and attentive, great food and lovely ambience inside, highly recommend!

The Emperors banquet is what you need to be ordering if your in a large group. Chinese delight is always on form 👍

It has been 28 years since we visited here went for Sunday lunch the food is still served to the high standard it was all those years ago The staff are lovely and attentive nothing to much trouble The atmosphere and decor lovely tables are nicely spread out not on top of each other Loved it won't be waiting another 28 years to go back

The food was good. The service was very good. The atmosphere could have been better, and it would have been wonderful to be listening to authentic Chinese music whilst eating our meal, but it was modern pop music that spoilt the atmosphere. We do like this restaurant and will go back

Always busy (In a good way) great food, great servicle, great atmosphere. Doesn't really need a review as everyone knows what a nice place it is. It's on the main road but you really could be anywhere it's so quiet. Where else do you get fish swimming around the entrance as you enter

Lovely restaurant, really friendly staff. Food was perfect and service was quick. Great value for money. Really recommend bird nest fillet steak, steak was really succulent. Just be aware car park can get full on busy times. Just a testament to how popular it is. Would still very much recommend.

Hadn't been here for quite a while. However, I came to try the banquet and was pleasantly surprised. Had the banquet at £23 a head but had soup to start, then starters main course and a dessert and a tea. Great food and great value. Stuffed at the end.

Very bland food. Close your eyes you wouldn't know what you were eating. Disappointed. Really felt like the staff had only started that night. Not interested in customer service. Only when we asked for the bill did they ask if we enjoyed our meal. Good job neither of us had allergies because they didn't ask. Will not be back.

We booked for Christmas Eve 2020. Food is fantastic and staff very friendly. Crispy duck was amazing! COVID precautions in place. My only issue was a couple of not quite clean plates, soon resolved when pointed out. Restaurant clean and extremely well presented. We will definitely visit again.

Fantastic meal last night. Amazing service throughout. Food was incredible, delicious Delight Dim Sum Combination, perfect Aromatic Crispy Duck, the best Pekingese Deep Fried Shredded Beef ever, and my teenage boys described the Sweet and Sour chicken as “sweet”. Excellent COVID precautions in place. Highly recommended!

Place was recommended by a friend and wow I can only guess he does not eat out much Going in with moderate expectations i was a slightly taken aback when the staff sounded frustrated that I ordered more than 2 starters. Wish I had stopped there!For starters the salt and pepper squid had all the flavour of an old chewing gum.The prawn toast somehow tasted burnt, and the curd also lacked any of the promised garlic. Things could only get better with the mains and impressively they did not. If the egg fried rice i ordered was somehow swapped with plain rice I would still be staggered by how bland it was. The sauces could have been out of a packet, microwaved with a bit of chilli sprinkled on top and this was the chefs special!Portion size was good but even so save your money.. buy a rice cooker instead for the price

Enjoyed a lovely birthday meal in pleasant surroundings. Good food and good company. We are so glad they reopened a week ago after only doing takeaways. The staff wore visors, customer details taken on entry, hands sanitised and tables spaced appropriately. The menu is the same as it was and prices seem to be about the same. Rule of six working well.Thanks Chinese Delight, our favourite Chinese. We will be back.

I'd not been here for several years and was both surprised and delighted that the restaurant was still top class. We had the three course business lunch which was excellent. The service was second to none. We will make this one of our favourite restaurants to visit.

Ignore the crying ass bad reviews!! The place is amazing, great staff, lovely food and it is everything chinese! Would 100% reccomend. Dont listen to the 1 star crap

Booked a table for two 7.30 Saturday evening, the carpark was chaos! When we booked in the member of staff on reception was very unwelcoming and borderline rude. We where not offered drinks whilst we waited to be seated, the reception area seemed very disorganised. We ordered our meals and it took over an hour to be served our starter, not at any point did any of the staff approach us to explain or ask if we’d like drinks. When the starter arrived it could have been warmer! The main course was average and again not particularly warm.I thought the restaurant could have been cleaner, the menus had seen better days. Very disappointed, always used to be a lovely restaurant. The front of house staff need some customer service training.

Ordered over the phone on Christmas Eve, told there was 40min wait, that was ok, but when we got theret to pick up, had a hr wait.Asked about ordering for new year, told to phone at 5.30. Busy , so went down to order, ordered at 6pm told be ready at 8.05, returned to find another half hr wait. Got told to just sit and wait not in a good manner.They shouldn't of took so many orderders on if they couldn't cope.

Have been here a few times and always enjoyed it. My wife called on Tues 10th Dec to see if they had a table on Friday 13th. The person who answered indicated they had, then asked for how many was the booking for. When told for 2 , the person paused then said there was no availability, but if we called back on Friday 13th they would see if there as anything free. It was obvious that they didn't want a booking for 2 , they would rather have a big table in and were hedging their bets that a booking would come their way in between 10th /13th. The person at the Restaurant was informed we won't be calling back. You either have a table or you don't. We won't be coming back. We went somewhere more welcoming. Perhaps if I was a certain ex footballer (who I have seen in the restaurant previously) and wanted a table for 2, it wouldn't have been a problem !

We went as a group of 10. The food was excellent, staff very good and friendly. Nothing negative to say, we hope to be back again soon.

I can’t fault this restaurant. The food is excellent and the staff are always very friendly and courteous. The service is quick, the portions perfect and the food delicious. We have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years and have never been disappointed whether as a party of two or 22, for either lunch or dinner..We have even spent a couple of New Years Eves here and intend to do so this coming year. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the restaurant.

Chinese Delight has really lovely decor and a nice seating area to have a drink whist you peruse the menu. The menu is extensive and has some different dishes in comparison to your standard Chinese restaurant.

I know I’m in a minority here, we went on a Saturday night and the place was packed, and I understand that’s the case most nights, so it’s obviously very popular.

Went last night with my husband and son we had the banquet it was delicious and plenty of it. The service was very good and the staff were lovely and very attentive.

This brought back some memories of actually going to a decent Chinese restaurant that we used to have were banquet meals were affordable and yet delicious! All before the all you can eat buffets began!

So good I’m writing the review on the way home... Jon and his team were very attentive, welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Great food, great service and an excellent laugh! As good as I remember as a kid :)

The food here is really very good, but when I asked for gluten-free options it was as if they had never had that request before. That was disappointing. But otherwise, food and service were good.

Food delicious. However, I felt rushed. The staff weren't interested as we aren't 'regulars '. For the price you would expect excellent service.

Visited with work colleagues for a banquet for five. Arrived, sat in the waiting area for our table. Was extremely busy area, staff seemed to be more interested in takeaways rather than booked tables. Waited ten minutes for drinks, another fifteen minutes for someone to take our order after promoting.Finally seated at 7.45 . Our table was booked for 7pm and was ready when we arrived so couldn’t understand why we hadn’t been shown to the table on arrival. Service continued to be poor. Wrong soup was served to one person , was taken away but not replaced until asked . Other members of the group had finished their soup when I finally got mine. Poor communication between staff. Staff seemed stressed. Food was good but poor service. Won’t be returning again.

On visiting family in Frodsham We went to The Chinese Delight for a meal .

Me and my partner were seated very quickly, we were greeted at the door by a polite lady who took our drinks order. After about 10 mins, a man came over to take our food order. We had a few questions about the sunday banquet menu to which he didnt reply and just laughed at us, we ended up rushing our order as it was awkward. We then got taken over to the table, it was nice and quiet even being next to the kitchen. Our food came quickly and was lovely. The main was also great and big portions. As we had been feeling unwell, we decided to skip dessert and paid at the bar. As we went to the bar, we were given our bill and I asked if it was possible to pay for the 4 courses instead of 5 as we had not had dessert. To which the same man laughed again and said 'No, it doesn't work like that' and I ended up paying £35. The food was great and very tasty, the waiting on staff were polite but the meal was ruined by the experience with the gentleman. It states on the website that the 4 course is £12 and 5 course is £14 each so considering we had missed one course it would have been ok to pay the 4 course as we had a starter each, combination and main which is 3 courses.

Went there to try it out. Air Con was set on Baltic which meant if you were in line from vents you got frozen. Even seen a woman who kept her coat on all through her meal. I asked to change seats. Service was slow to the point i gave up on dessert. Oh but the food when it came was actually quite nice through the chittering !!!!

I have always been a fan of this restaurant and guaranteed satisfaction with excellent customer service over the years....but this time was not so...went for the banquet as usual...cold lumpy soup was sent back and replaced. Seaweed wasnt fresh and spring rolls tasteless...paid extra for fillet steak and pepper with four small pieces of steak...just overall disappointed and quite greasy and tasteless....ice cream didnt come...gin in normal glasses( its these small things that make the difference)...cloths weren't warm....just too many things that turned this birthday meal into nothing special but cost over 50pounds! Wont be returning anytime soon as this used to be somewhere I went for a special treat

Very adulterated cuisine with too much food colouring, too many sloppy dishes ( CD chow mien) unnecessary sweeteners added ( all dishes), re-heated rice and “Westernised” to the point that I could have stayed at home and cooked more authentically myself. 4 adults , 4 children no alcohol, water and 2 soft drinks, approx £23 per head to feel quite full. Much better take away.

Went for a meal Saturday 20th for 8 people we booked for 7pm the staff were polite we got our Luke warm soup after about 20mins then waited an hour for starters which again were Luke warm but we were so hungry and fed up of waiting we ate them. The duck pankakes came 45 mins after that and again Luke warm. We eventually got the main meal at 9.20 and we were all passed waiting and had a few bits and left.

Always great food and a good selection. Never had a bad meal or take away from here. Friendly service and quick

Restaurant set up very well has great atmosphere. We met in the relaxed bar area, ordered a banquet meal, The table service was very pleasant and respectful. The food came at regular intervals. All the food was well presented and tasty. Special mention for the quality of the duck, best crispy duck I have ever had

We went for our sons 30th Birthday and left feeling like we would have been better going the chippy!, we arrived at 7pm and am not joking when i say from arriving to ordering and the food being on the table was 7 minutes, now some might like fast but this just proved nothing was cooked fresh, we ordered half crispy Duck which was like leather, we actually brought it home for the cat, the special curry while being nice was nothing better than the local chippy and the chicken was slightly slimy in it, Speed sometimes comes with a cost and after being £50 lighter for a meal we didn't enjoy on our sons 30th felt let down.

Me and 5 family members went for a meal for my 21st birthday, 2 supreme platters and duck and pancakes as a starter and then 5 mains to share including the Singapore vermacelli and beef chow mein. Every single part of the meal was exquisite, well priced and clean. Delicious meal and service from very good staff.

Was recomended this place as have tried several local chinese take aways and this is by far better. Food is still average but nothing wrong. Just as expected. Fair price, the resturant is a nice feel with the traditional decor and coy fish

Booked table for 4.15 on 16.06.2019 waited over2 hours for main course was told it would be out straight away at 6.45 asked to see manager was told he was too busy at 7pm we spoke to him and he could not speak English but when we arrived at 4pm he spoke perfect English we were charged £40 for our wait and still did not get our meals would not recommend this place unless you like waiting for your food service is none existent total waste of a Sunday afternoon

I have been eating here for the last 20:or so years. Made a special trip on Bank Holiday to eat here. Starters were fine, though the soup was lukewarm.

Family of 6 adults and 20 month toddler, given a good round table with plenty of room for the high chair, and the staff made a fuss of the child.

I've only been once before with work......... Where we had a banquet. This time I think we were thinking with are stomachs cos we had 3 starters between the two of us. Had salt n pepper King prawns chicken satay skewers and spare ribs which didn't disapoint.... We then had hot n spicy fillet steak and chicken in black bean sauce with fried rice couple o beers..... glass of white wine for the lady..... All good £50 well spent deffo go again........

We have eaten here a few times and the food is consistently good. There is an amazing wide choice of food. We have chosen our separate dishes as well as selecting banquets. I have not had a poor dish yet. The service is good! If a little confusing as the different jobs are segregated. I prefer my food a little hotter, the table heaters are not very effective and the decor is getting tired.

Lovely food but very slow service. In fact we arrived at 4.30pm and by 6pm we had only been served soup as a starter. We were given hot plates and hot towels but they were freezing by the time we received our combination starter. After asking there time we received our combination, main course and dessert with in an hour.

Just finished a take away with 5 different items from this restaurant and all I can say is, all of it was tasteless mush. We ordered it by phone with a 10% discount if you pick it up yourself, we did and there was no discount!!!!

Let me tell you if you go here with 10 people or more they put a 10% service charge on top. I dont mind leaving a tip if I get a good service and that should be decided on the night. The food is ok but doesn't get you exited to want to go back in a hurry.

Booked here for a banquet as a regular over the years, was taking a friend so knew it would be as expected lovely staff and the food is excellent. It was a busy Saturday night but still the atmosphere was fantastic and the food you can not fault. Had a great meal can't wait to return.

Just had Sunday lunch at the Chinese delight had the set meal wasn't offered anything else after being seated noticed how cold it was in there . When on receiving the main course this was just as cold and bland as the atmosphere finished off with a warm soggy banana fritter will not be going again awful food

Always cautious to try new takeaway's since going Vegan but after a change in times with my usual takeaway, decided to take a punt on these guys. After looking through what is an extensive Meat-free section, we settled on a Vegetarian Sharing Starters of Spring Rolls, Crispy Seaweed,Deep Fried Mushrooms in Garlic sauce and quick fried Bean Curd (Tofu). It was really filling and well cooked,the Mushrooms were a,*revelation* and wish I'd ordered a separate portion!
