Chinatown Takeaway in Brighton and Hove

Very good, good always good, always under 20mins. We go there about once every fortnight, never been disappointed. Kudos for the bean curd in satay sauce, chowmein, and you HAVE TO TRY the shrimp fried rice.

We usually order from here, although, the food isn’t always consistent, the staff are friendly and the delivery time is usually as predicted when ordering online. The flavour and consistency of the satay sauce seems to have changed a lot over time. It used to be very good and authentic, whether you ordered chicken satay or just satay sauce on the side. Nowadays, it tastes mediocre… it’s a shame as that used to be our favourite go to dish. The pork dumplings used to be better too, don’t know what happened over time, but lately the consistency of the dumpling is very thick and a bit dry. The pork filling isn’t that flavoursome either now. However, we do like the addition of the udon noodles on the menu and the food is generally tasty.

This Chinese, never disappoints, I called, and it was at my door within 15 minutes, which is pretty impressive. As this was during peak time evening, hot food, tasty, food, and very much worth the money, definitely the best Chinese in Brighton for sure. Thank you as always

Unfortunately the food I got wasn't very good. Dumplings we're big and soggy and the crispy shredded beef too was soggy and slightly vinegary. Sorry but can't recommend

Ordered online, Shredded Chicken in Chilli Sauce with special request to make it Extra extra HOT. What got was Extra Sweet. The Shredded Chicken was only Batter Strips which was tougher than leather. It wasn't ready even though I went to collect after 35 minutes. They only take Cash Payments ! Guess why ??? Still wouldn't mind if the food was any good. So so disappointed !!! ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

Worst food I have ever eaten the s+s sauce come as a solid lump , the chicken was chewy and cold , rice was gritty and dry £40 spent it all went in the bin only thing I got from this meal was stomach pains . This place used to be quite good not sure what’s happened won’t be using again

I've had a few pretty good meals from here recently. I think they've improved considerably (new management?), so if you haven't been for a while, it might be worth another look. Still cash only I think at time of writing, but a much improved website lets you order in advance.

Had a takeaway delivered. It was luke warmed up microwave food. Nothing decent at all. Wouldn't even feed it to my dog it was that disgusting. With delivery guys bannging on windows with keys and peeking through windows. Avoid this place, disgusting slops!! Nothing fresh about it......

Mostly good. Thankyou for giving me pineapple with the duck at my request. Unfortunately I had to put the duck pancakes in the bin because there wasn't enough duck for both that and the rice. There wasn't much sauce either so in order for me to order again ideally I'd like more sauce. Duck quantity was fine for just the rice (but needed more sauce as very little) , but no duck for the pancakes The mushroom chow main and spring rolls were fine, no problem. Overall, the food quality was good. The duck was very nice, but ideally just needed a bit more sauce to cover the rice better. Thankyou. --edit-- A second duck/plum sauce another time was improvement, i increase my score 3* to 4*.

Chicken curry had no chicken. Fried rice had prawns in one but not the other. Food was barely warm. Not worth the £40 . Will not use again. Lesson learned.

Egg fried rice came wiv prawns the chicken curry had no chicken was a vegetable dish the chicken in teraki sauce was rubbery and hard the chips wernt cooked and cold wouldent go there again

Lovely food, never had any problems with timings or food being "bland" my whole family enjoy china town. Always a reasonable delivery time, one time left out one of my items but delivered me a replacement swiftly.

Wow! 18 minutes from ordering to delivery (bearing in mind that we are 10 minutes away) is pretty damn good. Most importantly, the food was excellent. Well done. Really impressed!

Amazing! Now I am quite particular about my Chinese curries, and I am buzzing after a great beef curry and egg friend rice. Absolutely the best beef curry I've had for a LONG time, YUM! Chicken and sweetcorn soup & chicken chow mien also very nice, thanks! Ordered online on their website, delivered in 30 minutes!

Just had my delicious Chinese food delivered. Sweet and sour chicken is very nice.delivery time within half hour . overall all the foods are very good. Worth evey penny I spent. Highly recommended.

So very disapointed with this meal this evening. Was looking forward to a Chinese but despite bad reviews decided to give it a go . Will not use again. Tasteless and dry .

My husband is vegetarian and enjoyed his, though that's plain rice noodles with stir fried tofu-can't go wrong there. I on the other hand had chicken curry which was ghastly, full of onions to bulk it out and bland. Singapore rice, bland-no chillies...so no go for me there again.

Arrived cold and tasted awful. Wasn't exactly cheap either. Terrible.

Nice local takeaway in longridge Avenue Saltdean. Pop to the Spanish for a pint while its cooking.. spot on.

We have ordered from here for the first and last time, Took and hour and 15 mins to arrive the for the price and quality it was not worth the money, on top of that the food was cold. I advise you not to waste your money and go elsewhere.

Tuvimos una cena muy agradable, la comida era realmente deliciosa, con tanta variedad para elegir, el personal era muy amable y servicial, era uno de la mejor comida china que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo, el agridulce era muy agradable y los fideos eran encantadores junto con arroz frito con huevo, a mi esposo le encantaron las costillas, así que definitivamente volveremos a comer allí el año que viene

Ordered food at 19:10, the time is now 20:50 and still no delivery, have phoned the shop three times, each time to be told "the food is on its way". On the third call, asked if the shop could call the delivery driver and find out exactly where he is, the guy on the phone said he would call the delivery driver and then call us back, he never phoned us back. We waited 15 minutes and then called the shop for a fourth time to ask what was going on, was told "the food is on its way", the guy in the shop obviously never bothered to phone their driver. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE IF YOU ARE HUNGRY AND WANT YOUR FOOD DELIVERED IN UNDER TWO HOURS.

Estaba tan ansioso por esto, no lo tengo tan diferente como lo hice, pero ¿qué es lo que no tienen?la comida es grasosa y sabe menos, solo Dios sabe quién está cocinando pero no tiene papilas gustativas.una gamba o bola de pollo por el nombre debe ser redonda, no plana como lo fueron, mi amigo tenía rollitos de primavera que eran como concreat y los extremos eran insoportables, mi amigo tenía otro plato de pollo picante, que decían que solo probaba harina no había pollo, mis costillas estaban bien, pero recuerdo tenerlas antes y obtener 6 costillas o más, no esta vez 4.en cuanto a mi comida sencilla, era insípida y sin cocer.el otro shock fue el aumento en el precio, el chow mein la última vez fue 2. 70 este timre fue 4. 00, cada artículo había subido una libra o más, en solo unos meses. el pedido realizado es o era casi lo mismo, era difícil antes de pedir lo suficiente para cubrir la entrega y para obtener las galletas de gambas gratis, fueron el mejor plato esta vez, el antiguo costo de alrededor de 15, ahora 22 de 6 platos, 4 de que sabía delicioso, no Chinatown, muy decepcionado.

This has been the third time I’ve ordered from this restaurant. Although the first two times the food wasn’t extraordinary it was much better than the one served in other places. Unfortunately, this time it has been quite a disappointing experience. Chop suey and Chinese sauce appear to be the same thing. Besides this, it was very watery and greasy. My pork was clearly microwave heated. We also ordered vegetable rice which was sticky and without any flavour. The spring rolls were like they had been cooked the day before and reheated too. Even the prawn crackers were stale. I’d like to think that they had a bad day and probably will order again... hopefully next time won’t be as bad as this one.

Beautifully cooked food and in good time too! Will definitely be recommending! Nice size portions and reasonable prices too!

Placed order arrived in 20 mins. Most amazing Chinese food I have ever eaten. Piping hot seriously scrummy and the best chicken balls I have ever eaten in my life.

Customer Sevice Zero Have ordered regularly but when ordered and waited an hour only to be told 'it only just came through it will be another 30-40 minutes maybe 20!' This was a week day night. No apology and it was a take or leave it attitude. We will not be spending our money there again. People in the service industry really should learn some manners. You need the punters more than they need you!

No soy un ventilador enorme de sitios de china porque me parecieron bastante grasienta y normalmente no gusto nada como una comida que se come en un restaurante. Sin embargo, mi esposa e hijos me apetecía chino, así que pensé que debía dar una oportunidad a este sitio como todos los otros que habíamos probado en la zona no eran geniales. Llamé por teléfono a la orden, me dijeron que estaría lista en 15 minutos, lo que me llena de temor. Para una comida para estar listo tan rápidamente a las 7:30 del viernes era una mala señal. Sin embargo, qué sorpresa tan agradable! Las raciones eran del tamaño justo y la comida era excelente. El bateador en el Kung Po pollo y ternera crujientes lonchas era agradable y crujiente y el arroz frito Especial era ligera y sabrosa. En general una comida muy agradable para 4 por menos de 40 libras. Volveré!

Thought I'll give this place a try and very dissapointed! Placed an order online and had a confirmation email with a order number then called after an hour to find out there was no order placed and that they can't do anything about it, had to place an order somewhere else. Will not be ordering from here again.

I've used this takeaway for 2 years, good food. My normal order has just increased in price from £11.70 to £14.50 in a few weeks, reason given is "delivery charges" You have just lost a regular customer!

Having this place so local is a god send and the satay sauce is amazing,been using here for many years and sincerely hope for many more

Hicimos un pedido que nos llevó una hora y 50 minutos para llegar y hacía frío de piedra. Llamó a quejarme pero y que solo se rió. Entonces mi madre cortar su bola de pollo y esto estaba cruda en el medio. llamaran era se rió de nuevo. He comunicado esto a la salud ambiental de tratar. No usar otra vez y recomiendo que evitar si no desean tener posioning de comida.

Llamado 3 veces en total. Prometió que se avecinaba. 3 horas más tarde no es aquí, en el momento en el que nos esperamos cocinamos pasta, comimos y bañarte. Pésimo servicio me ha impactado. Si no viene no engañan a la gente que necesita organizar otra comida! Evitar a toda costa.

Avoid! Placed an order, chased it up after 45 mins, and waited three hours, no food delivered, no call, no explanation....dreadful service. There are no shortage of take aways so service like this shouldn't be tolerated. Never again!

Me gusta mucho este chinease la señora que responde el teléfono de un sábado por la noche es muy amable y nos reímos mucho tener cada plato que hemos tenido ha sido increíble no grasa y lleno de sabores el servicio es muy bueno nunca tuvimos queja
