China Rose in East Lindsey

I am very excited to let all coeliac’s know that this is a great place to find gluten free Chinese food. They deliver too! The person on the phone was very knowledgeable about the need to be completely gluten free with no cross contamination and the best bit is that the gf food was delicious! After suffering tasteless food and terrible stomach problems from other Chinese takeaways this was a huge relief. They also provided my food msg free too, so no terrible thirst or headache either. In fact they told me they use very little msg compared to other restaurants. I would recommend this restaurant and we are looking forward to another tasty meal on New Year’s Eve. :)

Where credit is due , I need to say it. If there were more stars it is well deserved. Portion sizes to price A* Taste A* Considering getting this on xmass Eve. One of the busiest days. Super hot out of the kitchen, ready and waiting. Bang on time for collection with a super hyper chappy serving. Have lovely time off when you do. Thank you providing this amazing food and service.

We had a Take away and it was awful , nothing was cooked correctly , no fresh vegetables, no sweet and sour sauce, and the special fried rice was awful and lacking a variety of meat content. IT was for my Birthday and it spoiled the evening and wasted my time and money.......never again will I order from the China Rose. We actually gave a little food to our cats and the rest went into the Bin.

Tasteless Ordered a takeaway that took 2hrs to turn up Salt and pepper chips are oven chips which have never seen salt or pepper Singapore vermicelli noodles are supa noodles warmed up and the special curry is the worst I’ve ever tasted in my 47yrs of existence £20 for dog food how do you people stay open

Take a way delivery… delivery excellent! Driver was lovely and appreciated the tip. Food… not as expected as we have had food from you previously and loved it all… this was bland, the chicken was like rubber, struggled to cut through it. Rice had no taste. Sorry but had to leave most of it and get a substitute for our family tea fromTesco. What’s changed recently as it’s always been exceptional before? So disappointed and hope you can rectify any new changes which clearly aren’t working for you right now. 🤞 we as a family have always loved either dining in or takeout from you so we are shocked by the quality of this meal. My daughter & I were staying at Mablethorpe for the weekend & really fancied a chinese takeaway. I'm gluten intolerant, so we both searched & came across the menu here as it said "gluten free options". I rang them before placing my order and enquired what was gluten free - the woman told me EVERYTHING with the exception of the curries, chicken balls, Udon noodles and chow mein dishes. I was ecstatic and so excited. We proceeded to order and our food got delivered. I must say I did feel rather reluctant to tuck into the pancake rolls / crispy beef but the woman taking the order has assured me again that they were GF. The food was really lovely. However the day after I began to feel rather ill - bloated, aching bones, toilet probs. I knew the symptoms - yes id been glutened! 😪 So I spent our last day in bed poorly . Before we left to go home my daughter rang them again to ask about what dishes are in fact gluten free - the young man we spoke to told us the complete opposite! Most of the dishes DO contain gluten ( especially the pancake rolls & batter on the crispy beef!) I was mortified. I have sent an email to the owner of this business asking what on earth is happening at this place- how can his staff be telling the public different things?? That it is utterly disgusting service, playing with people's health & wellbeing / giving them the wrong information about food allergies/ intolerances. Needless to say I've not had any reply. So BEWARE of this place if you do have any food allergies intolerances - you may not live to regret it .

Why the negative reviews ! Quick service quality food great prices and an all round great experience and the location is also excellent.

After waiting 30 minutes due to misplacing my order i can honestly say this is by far the poorest quality Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. The spare ribs were mainly fat and gristle. Beef curry was inedible due to the meat being to chewy, chicken fried rice was loaded with balls of uncooked rice and peas as hard as bullets. Salt chillis chicken was very chewy and inedible. Needless to say we will not be using this poor Chinese ever again and warn any other potential customers to avoid at all costs. Hygiene rating of one which we didn’t know before we ordered.

Ordered from the China Rose and went to pick it up, its upstairs with a seat down part. Thay also deliver to the caravan parks, but only up to main barrier, which make sense. The food we had was beautiful.

Decent little takeaway made a nice change. Had a selection of dishes and all were pretty decent. Would get again if visiting the area.

Disappointing food, terrible customer service and an expensive bill made for a memorable restaurant experience for all the wrong reasons. We pre-booked a table for a family meal during our summer holiday, so were looking forward to a long-awaited evening out. The meal set off on the wrong foot as we waited to be seated. After being completely ignored for several minutes, I alerted the most senior of the gaggle of teenage staff that we’d booked a table, only to be told to wait until someone dealt with us. Unperturbed (we weren’t expecting Michelin star service so sucked it up), we tried to be positive as we ordered our drinks and starters. My daughter was brought the wrong drink, but we didn’t mention it, as clearly the staff were pretty hopeless and we were trying to enjoy ourselves despite the negatives! Crispy seaweed was quite nice, though very pricey, but the mini vegetable spring rolls were the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. Indistinct filling, compounded by soggy interior pastry despite the crispy exterior. We had to ask for chopsticks, despite being in a Chinese restaurant! As the waiting staff found it impossible to meet our request of swapping chips for noodles on my 7-year-old daughter’s meal, we ended up ordering her a kids’ meal, plus an extra side of noodles. Imagine our horror when the bill came to find we’d been charged £7.90 for the side of plain noodles! On top of her £5.95 kids’ meal. Daylight robbery! I made the error of asking for a ‘mixed seafood’ dish, which was off menu. I ended up with the prawn and scallops in ginger and spring onion sauce (£10.50 on the menu) with a few strips of squid added for a whopping £13. The scallops were decent, but overall the dish was uninspiring and cold. Not very impressive at those prices. It’s probably unsurprising the food was so cold as it took so long to come out of the kitchen. My husband’s duck dish was ok but nothing to write home about, and my son’s king prawn chow mein looked alright but full of burnt bits. With rice added, our bill came out at £80. We did leave a tip on top of our bill, simply because we are used to doing so, but given the lack of service, it was a grudging addition! I felt we were an inconvenience to the waiting staff - there was no genuine care for us to enjoy our experience, which is a real shame when many customers will be holidaymakers like us wanting to spend our money somewhere memorable (and tell our friends and family where they should eat out!). We are used to eating out on a regular basis and expect a level of attentiveness from the team, decent food and a cost effective experience whatever the level of restaurant concerned - unfortunately China Rose doesn’t meet any of these criteria. Avoid!

I absolutely love there food but find it absolutely disgusting that they charge they do for delivery cos its a caravan site. You have got to think that all caravan sites fetch them a lot of custom especially in the hight of season but at end of our site it's a pound cheaper for delivery cos its an house but it's the same distance. Duck chow mein,special chow mein tasted burnt. Not much meat. Sweet and sour Chicken was okay. Boiled rice was a block of stodgy mess. Even the dog wouldn’t eat it and he will eat anything. .!!

Just ordered a takeaway of salt and pepper wings and Duck Chow Mein. The chow mein was dry and burnt went in the bin. Won't be going to China Rose again !!

Ordered Mix starter for 4 and set meal D for 4 on this occasion, this place never fails the best in Nottinghamshire.

Good food takeaway arrived on time hot and well cooked . I ordered the hot garlic king prawns with egg fried rice my wife ordered the fillet steak and we had a starter for two . All good until I statrted on my main and was shocked to find that it was bulked out with diced carrots !!!! What are carrots doing doing in a dish with prawns ? I like carrots but not with prawns , is this some asian european fusion ? Not to my taste shall enjoy my carrots with meat and gravy thanks .

Visited here Friday 27th January around 7.15pm and the place was empty. We ordered the veg spring rolls and the Thai fish cakes for starters which were OK. The main course was duck chow mein, special curry, special fried rice, plain fried rice, garlic mushrooms...

Me and my husband have been coming here for around 8 years now maybe more and I can honestly say we've NEVER had bad food ever! It’s always amazing the staff are lovely and it’s just an all round great place Thankyou for so many lovely meals guys!

We moved into the area in 2019 and have been eating here ever since. food is always fresh, full of flavour with my families favourite being the lemon chicken, ribs and chicken wings. Service is always of the highest standards, eager to help and friendly. We have eaten at the restaurant before the world went mad, friends and family were very complimentary. Felt it was about time to place a review. If you're reading this and deciding whether to eat or not go for it you will not be disappointed.

Ordered a delivery and it was prompt and food was still hot. Meals were a good size and good flavours. Some Chinese are oily and greasy but China Rose was lovely not at all greasy but fresh and filing.

If you like chicken balls and prawn balls so that you can’t chew them and your chow mein burnt this is the place to visit. Onion overload too. Even the prawn crackers were stale. We definately would not recommend or be returning and we are...

1st time ordering and definitely ordering again food was fantastic! Guy on the phone was very helpful the Malaysian mix meat I had was amazing! The mixed starter was very nice definitely the best one I've had around this area, the ribs were beautifully cooked again definitely at the top of the best around here that I've had and the salt pepper + garlic chips are to die for!! All the food was piping hot very fast delivery and nothing was swimming in oil or fat like some places the chips were crispy and dry no oil drenched in the bottom of the bag. In all very impressed with our meal it was delicious thank you!

Every holiday we get a takeaway to the haven park, and it is always one of the best places to go to. Lovely, tasty, hot, Fresh. The crispy beef is one of our favourites, you get big pieces of beef not a load of batter I have had in other places. Highly recommend.

Staff and food was outstanding! We arrived without having booked a table, the restaurant although it doesn’t look overly appealing from street view, was very clean and authentic inside. Excellent tasty piping hot food delivered straight to the caravan site by a friendly driver. Food can be ordered in advance online. So much food we had it for lunch the next day too, highly recommended

My third visit here, but this time the place was empty on a Thursday evening which is puzzling. The food here is always delicious and hot and the waitress was kind and helpful to us. The vegetable rice is recommended but it is all very good. Perhaps they should ask themselves why there were no customers?

1st time visitor. Ordered a takeaway for 5 people. Food was ready on time (quite quick) and hot. Four out of five of us thought it was (all) slightly bland. Slightly on the pricey compared to other similar establishments.

I ordered take away service , arrived very prompt. Under 5 minutes! Crispy chili beef - carton was half full. Not a Chili in sight and didn’t taste like it had any in either. The mini spring rolls weren’t cooked, the pastry/ batter was was still soggy.

Food is ok and a reasonably priced Chicken is frozen chicken not fresh as are veggies they used in my meal but good for a cheap eatable take away who try to offer good service and a timely meal.

Went in Last Saturday for the first time in 6 months, service was very poor, had to wait over 90 minutes despite promises of it'll be with you in 5 mins. No rush or chasing up. They disconnected the phone and cancelled all the internet bookings, many people came in and were not happy at all. I have been many times before and the food is worth the wait. Eventually after many times of complaining at the poor service, my food came, got home and i had been given completely the wrong order, to be honest I couldn't be bothered to go and sort it out. If you go, give yourself plenty of waiting time and check your order before you leave. Need to sort yourselves out as I saw many unhappy people there

Not much choice of restaurants in Mablethorpe and China rose had decent reviews so decided to try, went in as they opened at 5pm so fairly quiet, sat in a booth by the front windows and the first thing you notice is the seats are taped up/repaired with duct tape, but you only sit on them so let that go, dri ks ordered and the wife's glass has lipstick around the top, so not to impressed but when told the waitress quickly swapped it, its not the quickest place for service but the food was pretty good, well cooked and came out hot, main courses the same, very tasty and piping hot, food and staff are great no issues there whatsoever, the actual restaurant its a bit tired and worn and could do with a bit of a refurb and good clean, the handrail on the stairs really needs sorting as it's painted white but minging and covered in dirt, toilets are the same, a bit rough, just things like that let it down but they were full and the phone never stopped, whether due to being the only Chinese Who knows,? bottom line food and staff great, restaurant needs attention

Visited here last week when visiting my daughter and grandchildren down in mablethorpe. Food was good, fast service. Made to feel very welcome by a lovely young girl named ‘Mary’ I think it was. Thank you to all staff during these difficult times keep up the great work.

very very disappointed, my wife and I was out for the evening my wife had chicken in black bean sauce no flavour used frozen chicken won't be going back.

During a recent trip to visit family my wife and I decided to eat out and chose China Rose. We were not disappointed! The service was 1st class and the food plentiful, hot and tasty. We had several dishes and each one was excellent. We would definitely return again.

This restaurant and cook need to look at making their dishes more tasty. The curry was bland and not spicy enough. The manager asked if the three of us needed 3 rice dishes because we were having a portion of chips. He and his wife are thin and we are robust and I felt like he was having a dig at our weight! Won't be going back!

Booked a table as looked good option on TA as not many restaurants in the area had good reviews. On arrival was a little skeptical as the entrance is off putting but once you get up stairs everything looks fine. We had a selection of different dishes which were all tasty and freshly prepared, not only was the service good the meal for 6 was excellent value. Would book again when in the area.

We visited last week ordering the 1/4 duck for starter and it was amazing, there was loads there and very tasty. We had a Scezhuan Dish, Cantonese and chilli beef. All tasted very nice. The service was amazing and the staff were all very happy. The one down point was the social distancing there were booths marked with tape so you couldn’t use them, however then people were sat either side of us about 0.5 metres away with no distance or screens etc.

We went to China Rose expecting this to be the best Chinese (as voted) in Lincolnshire. We were sadly very disappointed with the food served. Partly raw vegetables and food not seasoned. Would not recommend.

Went here last night and unfortunately this was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten, we had the mixed starter, all was very dry, over fried and no flavour, the fish cakes tasted like spicy rubber omelettes. The mains were no better and the duck was awful, £90 spent and we all left hungry. I think an Iceland frozen Chinese microwave meal would have tasted better. Advised the staff and got an apology.

Last night treat after a day at Sutton beach and we were pleasantly surprised. The place wasn’t too enticing on the outside but the service was good as is the food. Portions were generous and dishes were delicious. Everyone liked the Duck in Hoisin sauce and big king prawns with ginger and spring onions. The beef in black bean could have been more tender and the chicken in cashew stir fried a little longer but considering the free bottle of wine and two packets of prawn crackers with our £55 order, who’s complaining?

The food was delicious. Good sized portions, ideal for sharing and good value Would definitely recommend it. One downside was they forgot to deliver prawn crackers, but still charged me.

Very nice food with the recent covid-19 restrictions and exceptionally priced, i will be returning when i am next in mablethrope! We came with a family of 6 and everything was smoothly. I would recommend to anyone wanting good chinese food! The decor could do with a small amount of modernisation but don't let that put you off the superb food!

We ordered from here during a camping holiday at Haven. Delivery was simple and food fresh and hot. Good quality food, but cant understand why they send out "crispy " dishes in plastic takeaway tubs. They just go soggy. Crispy chilli beef is my favourite but this was not at all crispy. Its much nicer when delivered in a foil container.

Late in leaving this review but having read some of the negative ones, felt now is the time! For those who have never been before, first impressions from outside and going up the stairs is deceiving...please do not be put off. The staff are incredibly friendly, the food has always been excellent! We’ve spent a great deal of time in Thailand, and the Thai curry here is as authentic as it gets. No restaurant can compete with customers we overheard arriving and saying they were going to make sure they didn’t pay for their meal by complaining, and then threatening to leave a bad review if they didn’t get money off! Utterly disgusting behaviour towards a small business. I suspect these scammers do it everywhere they go! I urge any good honest people who like a good, honest chinese to give this place a go..You will not be disappointed.

Looking for somewhere to eat, or get a takeaway in Mablethorpe in February, proved to be really difficult. There wasn’t a “justeat” , and trying to find a menu online was so difficult. Getting food delivered was impossible, due to lack of choice at this time of year. We ended up at China rose, where we were able to view the menu. We didn’t have to wait too long before we were able to leave with our food. It was quite nice, but not the best. We were just glad to have found somewhere! We would get food from there again, given the same set of circumstances. The cost wasn’t cheap, but neither was it too expensive. The food was reasonably tasty.

We always come here for our Chinese food and never go away disappointed! Consistent everytime and very pleasant staff! Keep up the fantastic work and see you soon.

Having ordered takeaway meals from here for years we never thought for one minute it would be inedible. The crispy chili beef was clearly microwaved as it was soft and soggy. There was not one piece that could be chewed. The special fried rice tasted of dirty oil. Having called to complain I was told that replacement could be sent but when the original meal was supposed to be a 40min wait which turned out to be an hour and a half wait. We thought we would decline. I must say it was nice of the lady who took my complaint to personally offer to watch the next meal I ordered being cooked. What that would do heaven knows. Apparently they are under new management. My advice would be to go elsewhere unless like us you want cereal and milk for your evening meal and pay £20 for the privilege

Sad to hear that from the 6th Oct the owners of China Rose have decided to go into early retirement! Always had the best experience here, whether it was eating in or for takeaway! Best of luck to the old owners & also best of luck to the new owners I’m sure we’ll be in soon!

As the weather was poor we opted for a Chinese takeaway whilst staying at haven. Both meals were delicious and hot, tasted authentic and the price was very cheap at £20 for 2 mains, rice chips and prawn toast. Would recommend and return again.

Entrance and stairs give a poor first impression, the food was very good and tasty, plenty of choice of dishes, prices reasonable, the staff very friendly and attentive, the service was quite slow, but the restaurant was busy with large parties of people, some waited longer than us. Overall we enjoyed the visit and would go again

Me, my partner and my little boy came here for the first time and the food was lovely they couldn't do enough for us will definitely be returning again.

Came over the bank holiday weekend, all I can say is absolutely fantastic great food and staff will definitely return.
