China Garden in North East Lincolnshire

First time using this Chinese, very disappointed to say the least, ordered roast pork chow mein, tub consisted of watery bean sprouts and 5 bits of pork laid on top, tub only half full, a small bag of chips and 2 tubs of watery barbecue sauce, one of which had half spilt all over the bag and it's contents! Wasn't very hot either, won't be using again, absolutely shocking!

Wow must be the worst Chinese meal i'v had the main portion of Roast pork chow main in a small tub only 3 quarters full, the whole meal was cold on delivery, the chips were terrible soggy little things, an absolute joke of a Chinese meal, if I I'd give them no star rating, waste of money.

The atmosphere at chins garden was better than that of a football away end, however the food felt like a hate crime against my tastebuds. I ordered prawn crackers and received dismembered prawns inside cream crackers, when the food arrived (the next morning) the delivery driver told me sorry for the wait i got a flat tire so walked the rest of the journey. when i opened up the packaging the delivery driver had scoffed my food on his pilgrimage to my house, not happy but will be ordering again! 3/5

Had a mixed grill for my birthday the other day and when I received it didn't look appealing at all. The gravy looked too dark and was poured all over my meat and the chips was small and hard. I didn't enjoy it at all. Won't be having anything from them again and it was the first time.

Really poor Chinese tonight, have used before and mediocre then hence why we changed to Sun Fung. Burnt chips, weird tasting beef and bland rice. Will stick to Sun Fung in future , definitely give them a try if you’re looking for a much better Chinese

I've used this Chinese for 18 years but over the last 5 years it's gotten worse and worse. My bbq ribs tonight looks like they was from a sparrow. A smaller portions cheaper food. Bring the previous owner back for a quality takeaway very poor will not use again.

Unfortunately I am compelled to write this review, with a heavy heart. I say heavy heart, as this takeaway and it's food used to be pretty good, to which I have enjoyed plenty of meals over the last 10 years. The last 4 times however, has been a bad experience, due to the unrealistic delivery times (well over an hour late from the time given, which is often 2 hours after order placed). The food, I must state, has always been fair. The 4th time was the last straw, as the pre-booking on Just eat was placed at around 8AM in the morning to avoid delays! However, the delivery time was not on time, at 6:30pm, when I rang I was told everything has been put back, along with sentences that quite franky, didn't make sense. I said that I wanted to cancel it, the answer I got was to do it through Just Eat. Later on, Just Eat confirmed that it was delivered! I now have a dispute running with Just Eat. I do not know if the restaurant said they delivered it or it is an issue with Just Eat. It was only around 20 quid, and I will get my cash back through the Just Eat or Visa. However, it is the principle of the matter, the food being on time was important because I had to be somewhere else, nobody should have to devote their entire evening to wait for some fast food (that is slow food) to be delivered. I can appreciate this year has been busy for takeaways and more so for key days such as New Year and Christmas Eve. However, a business should put in place measures to compensate to avoid poor delivery of service, especially if this has been going on for some time. The end result unfortunately for the business, is loss of customers and bad reviews. This review may appear not much to your business, however I am not the only one this week who has had a problem, be in no doubt I will be telling everyone I know about this, along with how poor Just Eat is as well for that matter.

We have been ordering takeaway for a while now and last 2 times our food was delivered promptly but arrived luke warm nearly cold been dissapointed 😞

Good was good, plentiful and tasty. Delivery was ten mins earlier than expected so all good and the driver called to let me know he was a couple of minutes away.

I had ordered are meal and booked in for 7.50pm to be delivered and china garden excepting the order also paying 3 pound delivery even though I had spent over 20 pound should be free.To be told by email that are order is on its way at 7.43 Now its 8.40 and still not received. I rang up and all I got was were busy. Not my fault thay had agreed and confirmed that my tea would be here 7.50pm ish. They then told me my food was with the deliver driver and on its way again. After asking why they told me it was on its way with the driver) they said they were busy( not my fault) shouldn't agree to a time need to be more organised. Trying to speak to who I belive was in charge the boss she put the phone down 3 times making out it was my fault we order from them every week without fail. All she kept saying was we can cancel your meal if you want (but this is the meal that's on it's way) I will never order from them again.

Turned up at specified time to collect a starter. Had to wait a further 20 mins for it and it was not very nice at all, as tho it had been sat for a long while and then reheated. Twice I've tried this place and both times have been disappointed

Chicken in OK sauce was good Chow mein was good Large pancake was good Salt and Pepper chicken was good Chicken Fu young was dry Chicken and sweetcorn soup was too sweet. Overall it was good and we will come back to try other dishes....

We ordered through Just eat. When we were placing our order the delivery time was 40-50 mins. Once the order had Processed this jumped up to an hour. We waited an hour and 10 mins and then I called the shop. 5 phone calls later after being told “it’s on it’s way, it will be there in 5 mins” several times she then changed her story and said the driver had broken down just around the corner from my house and another driver was going to meet them to pick up our food 20 mins later and we still didn’t have any food. I called back as we had now waited 1 hour 50 mins and the food apparently left the shop 40-45 mins ago but she assured me that it would arrive hot! As it travels in a special hot bag! The lady was so rude she actually hung the phone up on me! So my partner went down to the shop as it has now been over 2 hours since we ordered and she wouldn’t answer the phone to me!! During this time a guy who didn’t speak very good English arrived on a mo-ped and started walking up and down the street with our food. Which was in an open Asda Cool bag! When I asked him if this was for me, he ran away from me up the street to his mo-ped as if he was checking something then came running back. As you can imagine the food was cold, I called my partner to come back, he said that he’d asked for a refund in the shop but he was told that we needed to request this through just eat. So we waiting over 2 hours for substandard cold food and now we have to go through a process of trying to retrieve our money back through a 3rd party! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Cold yet again & I only live across the road, I even came in for it myself. No gravy in with the mushrooms ,just some thick gloopy jelly stuff. Everything was tasteless. Very disappointed after spending £20+. Will never cause this Chinese again.

Did not enjoy it at all... Here goes an honest and disappointed opinion. The sweet n sour chicken was soggy not crispy and the sauce a lethal orange red ! Placed a total order of £26 which i wouldnt have paid more than £5 for if I'd known how poor it was....and it arrived after 1 hour 5 mins - all very overcooked and not fresh. Yeuch.

The establishment, being purely a takeaway, can appear a little rough around the edges at face value. But, they have efficient client recognition systems when you call in an order and the food is the best by a mile of any Chinese takeaway I have ever used. I've been a customer for twenty years+. Super!

I would give this a zero star if i could. Our order was wrong, freezing, the chicken was like cold rubber, chips like cold leftovers. Tiny portions and it all went straight in the bin after i rang up to complain. Don't waste your money. Honestly, it was inedible and i am not a fussy eater. 😡

Went in last week ordered the same amount of dishes £25.00 worth got home to just able to eat warm ordered chicken balls bit into one to find piece metal I rang up to complain said could have free chicken balls next week i said no not good enough chucked the whole lot of food away she said would tell staff free meals next week i rang in tonight to order can only have free chicken balls would never eat them again and after many years of using this place will never eat from there again not nice having piece metal in your mouth from there food could of been a child that could of swallowed they have dropped there standards

Not one for leaving a bad review but the meals were foul, lukewarm and bland mush. Most of it went in the bin.Just thought we would try somewhere different. Bad choice!!!

Chicken fried rice x 2 both burnt, next to no chicken, very dry, chips ok when I enquired about the missing calendar I was given some mumbled excuse which I was unable to make out as delivery driver was already half way to his car.

We have used China Garden for a couple of years and they have always been superb but that seems to be changing. In the last 3 months we have had items missing and lukewarm/cold food even though we always collect. Rang last night to complain that the last 2 visits had been cold and all we where offered was a 10% discount if we went again. No apology or reason why it was cold. Will not use again so it’s there loss.

Have been here a few times over the last 4 months having heard good things from friends, always good food and up to our last visit we had always been served by a friendly and helpful young lady who took the time to help us with our choices and was nice and chatty. Our last visit was a Saturday evening and was a different member of staff, the waiting time was about 30 minutes for collection, by all accounts it was a busy night. I was shocked by the way the 'woman' on the desk spoke not only to me but to other staff and customers. Her language barely even belongs in a dockers yard and definitely not in a busy take away with children present, she was rude and clearly hating every second of being there. I'm sorry china gardens but I will not be returning as I don't wish for my children to hear anything that vile woman says again.

Food was below average. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and there was fat too much batter on them. BBQ sauce was red and watery and tasted nothing like it. The rest of the order was just average. Thoroughly disappointed.

Ordered at 6:03pm (we don't live too far away) still hadn't arrived by 8pm. Rang the shop to be told they hadn't finished cooking it yet.... it wasn't a big order either. No apology. Wasn't worth the wait. This is the second time it's happened gave them the benefit of the doubt but this Chinese has gone down hill massively. Save your money and order else where.

The food quality wasn't as good as we usually get from this place. Then to add a other 30 minutes to the delivery time wasn't good either.

Ordered at 6.05 was due to be delivered at 7.05. Then added another 25 mins onto delivery time. Rang at 7.40 was told it was in the next delivery came at 8pm. Ordered 2x chicken chow miens... very dry and chicken was very rubbery over done. Ended up just eating the prawn crackers.. waste of money and time..disappointed is an understatement!

Check the recent reviews from customers on just eat app.This place seems to be going downhill rather quickly,every review over November time is not at all recommended.Our order on November 26th contained cold chips,soggy undercooked batter on chicken balls.The chow mein was Luke warm and contained around 6-7 small bits of chicken.Hoping this is not a continual decline in usual high quality,if it is we will be using somewhere else for our next Chinese.Step up please China Garden & get back on top of quality asap.

Not as good as usual,we had to microwave the chips as they were cold.The chow mein was just warm enough to eat and the sweet and sour chicken batter was too thick and stodgy.The fried onions were a delight as were the prawn crackers.Hope this was a one of in poor service ,we will try them again but if it's this bad again then that's it for China Garden.

Placed order at 6.30 to be delivered at 8.10 they added extra half hour onto that making it due at 8.40 finally arrived at 9.50 with broken carton of curry spilling all over food ! Absolutely disappointed with the service

Chefs special starter was dry . Lemon chicken batter was soggy not fully cooked .Sweet and sour chicken again batter was not fully cooked and was soggy . Rice poor . The worst chinese meal ever . We will not reorder .

first time I’ve used this chinese and the food was great but it was stone cold? it needs to be in a heat resistant bag or at least if it already in this it is be taken out at the last minute before knocking on the door. it’s a shame as the food was great but I didn’t expect to have to reheat it all?
