China Dragon in Calderdale

Food never turned up,when I called the first time the women on the phone said the driver was there and on his way , I then called back after another half an hour and she said she would call the driver and then call me back , I then had to call them back she then told me the driver has broken down and had to go back to the shop. I live at the top of mixenden it should never of took that long anyway . She just laughed it off . Not funny and poor service. Will never use again

Ordered sweet and sour chicken balls (10) got 5 chicken 3 pork and 2 king prawn rang them and told they would check with person and phone me back still waiting,

We have not had a takeaway for a long time and decided on Chinese. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal and such good service. The delivery person was so polite and friendly. What more can you ask for.

Placed order for 4 people today, the food was excellent. Really good value for what you get and got in less than an hour. Unfortunately they forgot our noodles, called up and they sent some on for us. 4 very people made very happy today, glad to have found a new favourite Chinese takeaway. First time ordering from here on their website this evening. And the last. Ordered at 5pm,rang at 6pm to enquire where order was,got told I hadn't ordered. Thank goodness I'd screenshotted everything as proof! He gave me his mobile & said to send the proof then the order would be done!! It came in less than half hour & wasn't worth the wait. Ribs weren't ribs,they were just hard dry pieces of something. Chicken wings beyond overcooked,went in the bin. Chicken balls soggy & chewy. Haven't yet tried the rice or curry sauce but based on other reviews I won't be impressed. Worst chinese food ever. I'll stick with China China Noodle Bar,way more nicer food & don't try rip you off. If you are fool enough to order from this place all I can suggest is screenshot your order👎🏻

Currently sat eating my food and I just had to come here and say how amazing the salt and chilli chips are! I'm blown away, i love them so much I actually feel like crying 😂

My partner had a lovely beef curry and egg fried rice. It came hot and on time.

Always used this Chinese! Ordered special chow mein dark noodles no veg hardly any meat no sauce overall waste of money ! Won't use these again

Very helpful lady on the phone helped with decisions of what would go with my order. Asked when I would like to collect asi didn't need delivery, was ready on time and tasted cracking with food containers packed to the brim. Definitely going back. Thank you 👏

Myself and a friend shared a mixed starter plus a special Sechuan . Absolutely lovely, cooked fresh very tasty and great quality.

Order regular. Lovely food. We get it delivered to illingworth and its always hot. Best Chinese in halifax. Kids meals are great also.

Horrible food egg fried rice was dark brown spare ribs did not taste of barbecue curry sauce was like a paste and didn't taste of curry really all went in bin waste of £25

Worst customer service ever!! Ordered online on their website. Order processed but they said they never received it but took the money out of my bank. When I phoned about this they put the phone down on me, told me they was too busy to sort it and told me not to order from them again. I was a regular customer up to this point but certainly won't order from them again!! The people who answer the phones need to learn some manners and customer service skills!!

Always great food and friendly too

Delivery was on time. Prawn sesemi toast was burnt. Sweet and sour sauce was very thin and Prawn crisps were very greasy.

Only just started using these again as it went downhill but not anymore the last 6 orders have been beautiful clean fresh and tasty 😋

There are many choices from the menu, Salt & Pepper Combination box, curry dishes, spring rolls are popular.

After putting my comments on this site in which my business thrived upon, I expect some sort of common decency of the proprietor of the China dragon NOT to screen at me down the phone and tell me I am liar AFTER quite clearly saying some thing was wrong with my last order I.e 1 prawn and then saying they was 13 in chow mien and then when ordered another one I got 7 prawns! What a disgusting service and years of custom I will not be wasting my money on these lying dirty place !

Ordered some crispy shredded chilli beef last night was lush! Ordered some more tonight was craving it was awful in a watery tasteless sauce dont have a clue what had happened why it tasted so different definitely disappointing normally ok food.

I always use china dragon and never before had a problem, this evening I ordered 4 items and they took over 1hr and 55 mins And still no sign of it been delivered. I had to phone twice the phone constantly ringing I felt the feeling I was been ignored, I phoned a 3rd and 4th time and no one was answering they did say they was busy but nearly 2 hours for 4 items is disgusting. I started work at half 8 and told them if your busy I need it here by 8 as I need to set off to work and still by 8.20 it hadn’t arrived disgusting service and the women on the contact number was rude shouting and very abrupt won’t be using again will go to Hong king the Chinese I used before use you should be ashamed still no sign at 20.35 so I’ve gone to work and left my partner to tel them I don’t now want it and to cancel the order I tried to phone to cancel but no answer fuming isn’t the word disgusting service

Best Chinese in the area by far. Lovely food, always arrives hot. Only thing i would say is the salt and pepper chicken balls could definitely be a main course and have rice or chips included in the price as the serving is massive! :)

Ordered on Just Eat. Just over 2 hours , 2 phone calls, several excuses later it turned up clap cold.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Ordered via Just-Eat, 20mins after it was due to arrive we called, a fairly blunt woman said it was on its way. A further 30mins later we rang back, she told me again it was on its way. I told her she gave me that answer previouslyat which point apparantly the delivery drivers car broke down & that another driver was on his way..... It's obvious they do not want to stay in business

Not only is the food always hot when delivered it tastes delicious, fresh and good quality. I've been going for years and feel they always go out of there way for customers satisfaction

Ordered today and spent £59. No free prawn crackers or wings so rung up. If u order direct you get them but not if you order through just eat. They put a menu in with order which says you get it. Guess they prefer you not to order through just eat but they happy to take your order. Won’t be ordering from here again.

One Star is over the top for me. Ordered some meals last night, delivery via just eat is normally one hour. 5 minutes before the due time China dragon rang to say sold out of my dish. Asked when they sold out reply was 10 minutes ago. Why did I not get my order when it had been with them for nearly one hour. I was offered another meal as a substitute, when I asked what about some good will They laughed down the phone and just said no. Great customer services China dragon we the public keep you in business. No more orders from me. On the positive just eat refunded my money.

Ordered to collect waited in the shop over 20 mins that's not including the 15 min collection kids running in and out of kitchen eating while cooking and carrying food in their hands from one end of the kitchen to the other pity there isn't a - rating

Decent special curry and fried rice , can't really comment on other items , seems best if you pick up from shop.

40 mins late. Food was barely warm. Parts of order missing. Parts of order not as described in menu. Meat overdone and tasteless (duck and ribs). Rest was rubbery (chicken satay sticks and wings). Everything was extremely greasy and the batter on the wings was too much to the point you could break away pieces of batter as big as the wings themselves. Safe to say that we will not be using this restraint again. They have a 2 star hygeine rating and a 1 star food service. Save yourself money and look elsewhere. Don't waste over £30 over poor food.

Best chinese we've had in halifax

Was a lovely dinner .chef hoi sin was fabulous and my husbands chef black bean sauce was that nice.didnt hear a peep from him . We will back just like to say complements to the chef .

Just had a takeaway from China Dragon, was a bit worried as we'd heard it had changed hands, needn't have bothered, the meal was excellent.

Excellent and new owners seem to be keeping the old standards up. Even though it's hidden away in Mixenden, I'd say this is one of the best Chinese takeaways in Halifax......much better than the one I'm Ovenden.

Only given one star because I have to. If I could it would be zero. Food arrived and wasn't particularly warm. When I opened our main course which was supposed to be "roast duck in hoisin sauce" there was no "duck" in sight just lots of fat and grease. The sauce was absolutely not hoisin, i did not pay £8 to eat duck fat. When I rang the takeaway to complain I was told that this is how "all the takeaways" serve this dish, which is an absolute lie because I've tried this dish several times. I was also told there was nothing that could be done about it. Absolutely nothing done to compensate for the fact that I had to eat a plate of starters Which were also very average. Absolutely appalling service. Will definitely not be using them again.

My delivery came within 10 minutes, I needed help ordering something so I phones china dragon and the lady helped me and was very very very polite. China dragon is actually my best takeaway place ever! The delivery man was also very polite and friendly shall be ordering again.

Really really great food. If anything way too much meAt in the 'special' dishes! But buy far the best part of the meal was the salt n chilli chicken wings that were An honourable freebie! My god they were amazing and I won't use another Chinese!! Too good! Great for money! Fast service! Polite.

Overall meal was excellent. Very tastey and good for vale. On the positive side the chicken in OK sauce was delicious, it had a nice size pieces of chicken, peppers and onions and the sauce was delicious. When you bit the chicken there was a nice crispy but soft coating and the chicken was well cooked and not chewy and the ribs was very nice and not overwhelming. On a negative side the spring rolls were far too big for our liking, would have much preferred several spring rolls which were smaller as only received 2 large ones (one did me and my partner, but would have enjoyed more if they were smaller!). Overall brilliant service, good delivery time and good value for money would definitely glorder from here again

Was really looking forward to this as the reviews I'd seen were good and I was hungry. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. I ordered special chop suey which I ended up throwing most of away. Had to smother it in dark soy sauce to make it anywhere near palatable. Won't be using again :(

Everything tasted 'ok' but was nothing special.Quite bland really. Salt & Pepper ribs were absolutely awful though. They were just bone covered in batter and fried for so long that what little meat was on them was rock hard. I tried a few then binned the rest.
