The chicken tikka from this place is unbelievable

First time going, and the last. Had chips and Cheese. The chips were horrid and the cheese was out of date with funny smell and taste to it.

Good fish and chips - reliable every time

Didn't enjoy as we normally do but usually great.

The fish was nice but not my style of batter. There was nothing wrong. I just prefer my fish a certain way. The kebabs and other stuff looked really tasty. I will go back but stick with kebabs. The place was very clean. Staff were all friendly.

Lovely clean well decorated shop/waiting area, exceptionally clean behind counter, polite welcoming staff serving delicious freshly cooked food.

Always made to feel welcome when you walk through. Been ordering for past 2years since we moved and never had a better chippy! Food is always hot and fresh never had a bad meal 🍽️ would highly recommend!

What can you say about Charlie's Chippy, it's a takeaway, a good one though, you can also eat in if you wish, there are a couple of tables, good portions, nice food.

We had 2 chicken kebabs which we were able to customise to our own preference. Kebabs were packed full of the tastiest chicken and the red cabbage was delicious. Highly recommend and we will be ordering again.

Visited here twice. The staff were very helpful, the food was ready reasonably quickly, and it was nothing short of delicious.

Fish was thin and greasy mainly batter. Mushy peas watery and hardly any chips. Very expensive for what I got

Most of the food here was great, had the chicken and mushroom pie, a sausage, the doner meat, gravy and mushy peas, all of it was tasty, fresh and really really nice. The chips however were terrible, all crispy bits without any potato middles in any of em. I'd definitely come back because of the rest of the food, it was lovely. It might have just been the end of a batch or even an off day but chips surely have to be the bread and butter of any good chippy!? Staff were friendly, efficient and spot on

A great little chip shop with friendly welcoming staff the shop is always bright and clean and you get a good portion of chips for your money The prices are good for what you get and they have a good selection of meals to choose from. I've been to a few chippys in my time and none have come close to this chippy.

got mixed meat and had this tasted ok but then in the early hours of the morning i couldn’t stop hugging the toilet seat to find out i’ve got food poisoning from it don’t know which part it came from but i’d take this into consideration before going to charlie’s i will not be returning

My first impression was the physical appearance. It was well lit and visible at night. You can park by the corner of the shop if you are driving. There's also a facility to lock your bicycle if you are riding one. A good atmosphere too for the kids, young ones and adults. There are a variety of items on their menu and prices are reasonable.

This chip shop is a hidden gem! The chips are always cooked to perfection - they're crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fish is also delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable. I would highly recommend this chip shop to anyone looking for a tasty and affordable meal. Just popped in for a couple of potato scallops for the journey home and was given an extra 1 for free along with a lovely smile from the girl who was serving.. very friendly.. also the scallops were 😋

This is a lovely chippy. Very clean. The staff are so friendly, the portions are large and price is reasonable I would recommend it.

Been trying a few chip shops since moving to the area and although this one is as far as I’ve travelled for one, it is the best so far. Great portion sizes, good price and brilliant staff that work in a spotless chip shop. We ate everything and will be using this as our chip shop from now on.

Just had 2 fish fritters and it was just mushed up skin bone even found what looks to be a bit fin absolutely disgusting

Called in for chips whilst passing. It was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly, the portions were large and the food was tasty. What more can you ask for ? A brilliant chippy.

Was recommended this chip shop and whilst staying in the area with our caravan we paid a visit. Well worth it, unfortunately their was no Haddock available so had to settle for Cod, but it was excellent, the large fish are huge . It was all very fresh and tasty, really enjoyed them.

Live close by so decided to try Charlies. Very nice fish and chips and friendly staff. Dont bother cooking chips any more, just nip down to Charlies

Used to get chips from here often but the hygiene scores have put me off a bit since Whenever I’ve been In there has been someone cleaning tables though. Huge chip portions and big fish is massive. Only ever had fish and chips with mushy peas nothing else off the menu but it’s always been perfect. Last went in December as was too lazy to cook and always ordered too much food. Large chips feeds 3+ people having a huge portion each!! Friendly staff too who are always helping community. Not so long back they were doing something for local school.

Well worth a visit ! Friendly staff. Good sized portions and reasonable price. Limited parking opposite or down the side for cars and bikes only ( This is a residential area ). HGV drivers need to try and park on the small industrial estate behind Wateringbury Grove ( DO NOT drive into Wateringbury Grove) this is a Cul de sac ( Dead end road ) !!!!!!!!! USE " Huntsman Road" and walk up the steps to access "Charlies" at the end of " Wateringbury Grove" but parking is terribly limited for HGV, s even for a lunch break only !!! Step up into the shop so not really wheelchair friendly. Seating available to eat in.

Staying in my caravan, at Poolsbrook Caravan club site, we had a busy day, and decided to find a local chippy for tea. By chance the nearest chippy was Charlie’s, so off we toddled in the car. Portions are huge, the prices good, and the service really friendly. What a wonderful chip shop!

Always had good fish and chips from here. Cooked nicely and clean looking. Large portions particularly the chips. One portion would feed 4 adults.

Nice food everytime, never had a bad meal We use these nearly everyday for dinner The chips are lovely and the chicken kebabs are to die for, and the garlic mayo is a must

Having wandered round Staveley working up an appetaite, I decided to go with my landlady's suggestion and give Charlies a try.

We have visited regularly over the last few months. It's becoming our favourite. The cod is nice and white and a good size for your money. Well worth a try.

We have never eaten in which is why I didn't give 5stars as I've not seen that side. However we order over the phone and collect so it's ready no waiting. Every time I've gone in when they're not rushing with loads of customers they're cleaning which gives you some confidence in their product.

We go to charlies most of the time the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and the food is great value for your money and the food is excellent try it you will love the food and there is plenty of it too when you buy your food
