Charlie Harper's in Chichester

We went in for breakfast with the kids. Had the big Charlie breakfast which was really good. We also liked it we could just het a round of toast and jam for the kids as they don't like eggs and bacon. Atmosphere was really nice. Well done.

Our favorite cafe in Chichester, popped in for a lovely scrambled egg,smoked salmon on toast my wife had a sausage bap. Both choices were lovely and came in ample portion sizes. The cappuccino is the best in the city, wish we could visit more often. Lovely staff and great prices. Highly recommended.

Good choice on menu would definitely use this place in the future

We used to go to Charlie Harpers for the food & friendly atmosphere. Today, four us arrived at 3.05pm. We were met at door by an unsmiling waiter who said the kitchen closed at 3.30pm & cafe closed at 4pm. Fine we said. All I can say is, that he, the waiter should not be working on the frontline as he had zero customer service skills. Awful vibes and atmosphere. Shame as they’ve lost our custom

Best breakfast in Chichester so far

I would not hurry to return to this locale. We waited an hour for our food - it was Christmas Eve so we expected the place to be busy but neither of us had complicated orders. I chose goat's cheese bruschetta - it was tasty and quality was good, but £9.95 for one half of a panino with a topping and a bit of salad seemed excessive. Our desserts both came with choice of custard or ice cream, but there was no custard available - not difficult to rub it off the blackboard or to be told when ordering? The fruit in my crumble was nice but the crumble itself was like stale, broken biscuits just strewn on top and was almost inedible.

This is a fab cafe. I've been coming here for over a decade. My favourite is their cooked breakfast, the best in Chichester.

Don't let the outside building judge this place. This little cafe/Restaurant is nice and cosy when you get inside. Gets very busy during the weekends. The staff are friendly and helpful. You get a great portion of food for your money and you got a variety of cakes and tea/coffee if you are looking for a sweet treat. I will continue to visit this place.

Fresh food, made to order by people who truly are passionate about their work! Chichester is so full of eateries that are selling processed food, Charlie Harpers have an extensive menu with fabulous choices plus a great specials board. Served by brilliant staff!! Highly recommend

Lovely atmosphere. Sat inside and very varied menu with specials blackboard. I had the prawn and avacado wrap with fries which was delicious. Would definitely eat here again. Lovely waiting staff

As always, a little gem. Great food and well served. The burger was delicious and my wife’s fish cakes were huge. Would thoroughly recommend.

Best aspect of this cafe is the professional, friendly, service that is done naturally. Having the same high calibre of staff ongoing ensures the above and re assures the customer and obviously results in repeat visits. No fuss, great place, yes please!

Separate Vegan menu. We had the vegan breakfast. Sausage, beans, tomato, avocado, mushroom, fried bread, fried potatoes and toast on the side . Really tasty and great service. Waitress very knowledgeable on vegan requirements. Will definitely visit again

Fantastic location, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I have been coming for breakfast here for a while now after spending quite a while looking for a decent café that will serve a top quality breakfast for a good price and finally found Charlie Harpers. Top quality food cooked perfectly, they also serve many other dishes from home favourites like pies all the way to avocado on toast if that pleases you.

Easily the best place to go for breakfast in Chichester. Good portion sizes, well priced, delicious food and superb coffees. Their fresh orange juice is also amazing. Have taken family and friends there and it never disappoints. The staff are also excellent and very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Visited this place based on the great reviews and it didn't disappoint. The food was of a very good standard and very tasty. The staff were friendly and interacted well with my small people. I will definitely visit here again

Excellent all around: food came quickly and tasted delicious, coffee was made using a proper coffee machine, reasonably priced (under £40 for two adults and two children) and free WiFi included. Faultless in all regards. Would highly recommend!

Really good breakfast, couldn't fault it.

Had a lovely veggie breakfast here. Neat cafe in three parts: a pavement area; a half-outside corridor; and a cosy inner room in front of a bar. I sat in the inner room. Fairly busy, not packed; plenty of staff on, so service was on the ball. My eggs were mainly runny, if a little hardened underneath. The breakfast was served hot, a big plus with me. Even the mushrooms, which are kept lukewarm in most cafes. Highlight was the sauteed halves of new potatoes, skin on. Also a good veggie sausage. With grilled tomatoes, toast, beans. Tea was hot and made with fresh water, though tea bag was left in, not ideal. This is a very good cafe.

Absolute gem, a really lucky find. Original menu items, well presented. I had the Greek platter which was excellent and a lively freshly squeezed juice combo. Reasonably priced, prompt efficient service and friendly helpful staff. Made my day!

Decided I'd head to Chichester for a breakfast, searched some cafes & read good reviews about Charlie Harper's, so I headed there. Certainly was not disappointed, staff couldn't be more polite or helpful and the breakfast, named Charlie's big breakfast lived up to its billing. All cooked perfectly and hit the spot. Great place to watch the world go by, I'll certainly be back!! Keep up the great work 👍

Been a number of times. Food mostly good. Last visit the service was very slow. Do wonder how often the toilets get cleaned - several visits over 2-3 months and there is still the same dirty rings around the hand basin.

Found this place on our first visit to Chichester. The food and service was really good. So much so that we came back for brunch the next day on our way home to London. My son loved the kids cheesburger which looked home made. We will definitely be coming back

Great little hide away spot. Small and intimate very local. We went for breakfast and had Eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict was very good perfect poached eggs. We were told the place occupied what used to be a pool.

Great food (as always!). I had gluten free eggs royale. I really liked the fact the hollandaise sauce came in a jug so I could choose how much to put on. Friendly, helpful staff.

Found this little gem in Chichester. Fabulous gluten free options available. Staff are knowledgeable about coeliacs too which is great. The food was divine the turkey and ham proper hand carved meat. We will be returning !

Good old fashion cafe, great food, good choice, excellent service

Very nice place, nice music playing. Had the pancake stack. Bacon was very nice flavour just would have been nicer abit crispier. Pancakes were a little soggy could have done with a little jug to put on myself.

20/2/23: Eaten here a lot, but recently went since going off gluten and was amazed by the gluten free menu, including a gluten free cooked breakfast which was fab. Staff are knowledgable on coeliacs and cross contamination too

Always call in here for a brunch or lunch when shopping in Chichester. Usually a sandwich or two but today a main meal and dessert. It did not disappoint. Best burger I have had in ages and huge! The brownie dessert and waffle with fruit were delicious. Well served in pleases ant surroundings. Give it a try….

Reminded once again just what a superb FEB is served here (Charlie's Big Breakfast). Still under a tenner, and easily one of the best that I've enjoyed in the area. Highly Recommended.

Good as long as you don't have dietary requirements. I'm a pescatarian with a dairy allergy. I asked for the vegetarian menu first then asked if they had a dairy free menu...I was handed a gluten free one. When they asked for my order I used the vegetarian menu, asked about dairy free and she wrote down gluten free. I told her I wasn't gluten free but dairy free and that it was an allergy. My vegetarian meal came out with bacon on it when the menu said beans. I queried this and said the menu says beans and I was told "no it comes with bacon". They did get me a separate ramekin of beans which was nice and I didn't mind moving the bacon off the plate and still eating th le toast underneath. A lot of hassel with what felt like little understanding from the staff of people's dietary needs. A shame as if they understood it could have been a much easier experience.

We popped in for breakfast before doing some last minute Christmas shopping and I have to say the food was absolutely excellent! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be returning.

Recently moved to Chichester, so I'm investigating the local area! Popped in this cafe for a cappuccino & a cookie! Nice little cafe, friendly young man.

1st time there. It was OK staff were friendly and the food was good. Only thing they need to ask the customer if they could change their order instead of presuming. . Or ask the kitchen if the soup has changed.I asked what the soup of the day is and was told leek and potato. They came with tomato and basil soup. They changed it straight away. The hot chocolate was weak and watery.

Full English is always great, I'm always in there early after nightshift and staff are very attentive

Great food, very hard working people doing what it takes to give you great food, friendly attentive service... and all without a big corporation making plastic food in Miltion Keynes that can hang about a week before being microwaved to go on your plate. What you spend here stays in the local area. Don't let the big chains destroy our local businesses.

During our cycle ride we stopped at Charlie Harpers for our breakfast. We sat outside and a waitress arrived pretty quick and took our drinks ordered and advised of a 25 minutes wait for food. When she arrived with the drinks we ordered 2 All Day Breakfasts. The food arrived sooner than advised and was very good. All in all, a good place to have breakfast.

Nicely tucked away, casual cafe type eatery. Food lovely, all fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked. Specials board also. Sandwiches to main meals. Average prices £7-9 for mains. All day breakfasts to seafood platters. Polite, good service (but they could smile a bit more !). Would eat there again.

Visited this wonderful Gem of an eatery In East Gate Chichester on a few occasions recently on my own and a friend and never been disappointed with the food, friendly service received. Serves the best breakfast in Chichester and the lunch menu is excellent. Recommended...
