Great restaurant! Food was so fresh and full of flavour, loved it. Paneer dish was amazing. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Good location in the merchant city.

The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. We got there around 8:30pm thinking they were open until 10pm but they close the kitchen at 9pm, so it was our fault that the staff was in a hurry. They had Jalfrezi which is one of my favorite dishes so I was very happy about that.

Maybe it was just a bad day. Others seemed to be enjoying the food and on checking, so did my companion. Was over spicy for me, and waiters missed out parts of order till we reminded them and it wasn't very busy. I'll give it a miss - but does seem to be more my palate than the food.

Went with daughter on a whim just passing and we were both delighted and treated so well with extras from friendly staff . Had 7 starters between us and was 45 pounds stuffed happily and went away all smiles 😃

Honestly one of the worst food you can have in Glasgow, it was like the chef just threw all the spices in the rice pot and served us the food, the curry was sweet, overall one of the worst indian/Pakistani food

We were staying in Glasgow for a few days and stumbled across this restaurant while looking for somewhere to eat. After reading the reviews we decided to give it a try and it did not disappoint. It was quiet being a Thursday but the food was lovely, and there was so much off it. It was absolutely value for money. The staff were friendly and attentive. If we ever visit Glasgow again we will be back!!

Food was amazing, Muhammed offered me and my girlfriend a place to sit in the restaruant whilst waiting on our taxi, service was amazing and food was a very good price will definitely be back!

The food was ok, however, the service was poor, and one of the servers (oldest one) who is absolutely a nightmare to deal with, rude, unprofessional, didn’t want us to split the bill and complained about our order.

We family of 3 went for dinner at this place. Staff was lovely, food arrived quickly and the best butter chicken in town. Highly recommend this restaurant and thanks for lovely hospitality from Manager Ali.

hello, we went three days back and completely devastated. The way the manager refused my family to enter while saying we're fully booked and we don't receive calls when we are booked at that moment we start that we will never go to the store again, but somehow after three days we were shopping in town and we were very hungry and there was only the halal option open we decided to call them first and then we booked our table. We were scared the way manager last time behaved but we were so hungry and we had a toddler. It was raining so we decided to go the way. The second time manager behaved was even worst As if he will be paying for our food, we paid about 120 pounds The manager Literally welcomed us with the worst face and even the other staff Pure racist, people towards asians The worst observation read, that was that they were very kind and happy, welcoming towards white people who were sitting there having wines while they were irritated welcoming us My heartbroken family said that they should say that this is only for white people not for brown

Went for our Christmas Day dinner at Charcoals. There was a 3 course menu on offer which was fantastic as it featured dishes myself and my wife had not tried before. The food was amazing, the best curry we've had this year. The service was good as the restaurant was busy - which created a good atmosphere. What really made it special was there was a guy standing outside in the pouring rain who was pacing up and down the street outside the restaurant, and I thought may be down on his luck. The restaurant manager took him out what appeared to be a new pair of trainers and gave him food to take away. An absolutely fantastic gesture.

Second year being taken there for Christmas Dinner by Community Veterans. With out a doubt the best curry in Glasgow.

Food were great, a lot of spices and strong flavors. However, customer service is quite questionable. We were served by the owner himself but surprisingly not feeling welcomed at all, of course he does his job well but no greetings nor any smiles nothing, making the whole experience a bit upsetting. We want to support your business and your food, at least give us some good service and we will definitely come back.

As ever wonderfully warm welcome and fabby food. We had a late lunch yesterday with 2 friends who had never been there. They have now booked another meal there for the end of the month. Think that says it all. Thanks as ever.

Heard best reviews on the food, so thought of having birthday treat in Charcoals. But to my surprise the owner himself is so rude to customers I am utterly disappointed with his behaviour on my special day. 👎

I regularly visit charcoals - I always receieve a great service and served delicious food! Lunch menu is great value for money and reasonably sized portions. Always recommend charcoals to friends and family- will definitely be back!

Ordered food for £27 and received lamb and sauce without RICE! When I phoned the restaurant was told by a man who works in there to chase the bicycle driver for it. (For the record on deliveroo when you give a driver the code you cant contact them) Absolutely shocking! Was my first and definitely last order from this place!

Excellent Butter Chicken …beautifully tender. It’s a dish which some restaurants use the recipe “ take bits of chicken and add curry gloop”. Not here though, glorious flavours of various spices come through. This is really authentic curry cookery.Generous helpings and good value …. I’ll be back

Charcoals is a fantastic Indian! We love coming here and never leave disappointed. The service is perfect, we are never left waiting or struggling to get anyone's attention. The food is the best Indian we have had, particularly any dishes with lamb! We have no problem recommending this restaurant to visiting family/friends as it is always great!

Ordered tikka masala and naan, which tasted good but I was given far from enough chicken (felt like maybe two thighs or one breast). As an average-sized guy, I don’t expect to still be hungry after spending about £17-worth. Huge disappointment.

I've been coming to Charcoals for years and it's the best food I've ever had - that's why I keep coming back for more! The quality of the food is second to none and is always of a very high standard. I've never been disappointed or had a bad meal - the quality is always high. Staff are so friendly and will do everything to make your visit one to remember. My wife is Vegan and there are many dishes that can be created to be vegan as all the food is prepared fresh. You get great value for money and the restaurant is nice and big with plenty tables. I will always go to Charcoals whenever looking for the best curry around!

Absolutely amazing food, the lamb chops are absolutely superb and so is the mixed grill service with a smile and very attentive to you could not ask for more, the food presentation is amazing as what you expect. Love Indian food and whilst up visiting family, decided to go to Charcoals with friends. Ordered Prawn Puri for starters, which is a normal for me, delicious, there were 2 rolls so big portions. However, they kept bringing extra "sides" to the table we hadn't ordered. I had Jhunga Prawns for main ( which I've had elsewhere before) and my friend had chicken tikka Makhani. Both dishes were way too.spicy, neither of us managed to eat much of our food ( amd she can take spicy food. I think if they are spicing up their dishes, they should inform you at time of order or check what heat you like your food. What a pity as I was looking forward to my meal.

On the 10/10/23 we found Charcoals and we were greeted with a very warm welcome by a friendly owner/waiter who took our order. The food that then proceeded to come out was by far the best curry I've ever had, superb flavours in the prawn dish and the pilau rice was cooked to perfection, it was also piping hot which is always refreshing as most go cold within minutes of being served. It's a solid 10 from me and I highly recommend dining out here hopefully we shall be back in the future!

I've been here before, but this was my first time back since covid. Incredibly, the owner remembered us and we had a nice chat over a glass of wine. He's friendly and helpful, and very passionate and proud of his food and his restaurant. In order of what we received: The reasonably priced house wine was very good. The poppadoms were fresh and crispy, and the dips were all homemade and delicious. Their lime pickle is possibly the best I've ever tasted. We had another chat about onions. They use three different varieties, but Spanish white ones are best for spiced onions. The starters were all excellent; my fish pakora was outstanding, again with a homemade dip. My main was a prawn and cheese curry, which was delicious, and I had a little taste of other people's dishes, any of which I would have been delighted to eat. The rice, naan and chapatis were all good too. This might only be because I told the owner it was my birthday, but they kept bringing little free things to the table, starting with an extra dish of the spiced onions we'd admired, some charred poppadoms and a delicious dip. Then there was a dish of spiced new potatoes, a bowl of very tasty daal. Everything was excellent, but we were filling up and couldn't finish it all. At the end, we had to rush to catch a train, and the owner rushed over and asked us to stay a little longer so he could give us more stuff. We couldn't. The bill was a very pleasant surprise. We'd ordered the pretheatre menu for £14.95 and that was all they charged us for. I don't think there's a restaurant anywhere else in the city where you are so well looked after and eat such good quality food at this price. I also love it when a restaurateur is genuinely proud of his restaurant. Truly excellent.

Decided to eat here because of a recommendation from a friend whilst visiting Glasgow...some of the nicely Indian food I have eaten but the service was out if this world. We were a party if 3 adults 2 kids and a baby. Seated quickly, drinks arrived quickly and popadums, whilst waiting for out mains they brought out complimentary pakoras (the veg ones were amazing!) and then free plate of chicken tikka with the mains. Happy to accommodate two off menu dishes. Super friendly and chatty waiter. So impressed. Only thing I would say is it would be nice to have a baby chair for the rare occasional people bring young kids, but it was still a 5 star experience for me

In Glasgow all the time and this was our second trip to charcoals. Great service,quick turnaround and fantastic food. Left a tip and next thing we had a complementary drink. This is the way to keep customers.

I was very disappointed by the attitude of the staff, they were smiling n talking very nicely n warmly with white people but this wasn't the case while attending Asian people. I didn't expect racism from an Asian himself. N on top of it I had to pay a 10% service fee as well, I didn't want to to argue with them so I let it go.

I’ve tried a lamb biryani , mango lassi and. Yogurt sauce loved it! The portion was absolutely big enough for two and it was so delicious. I was given vegetables bakora to try which was very nice and spicy. Overall I would come again the food was fresh and authentic to the cuisine.
