Nice open-plan spacious place that serves food and drink, and somewhere you can watch a film, but wait for it... They don't sell popcorn, and you're not allowed any food or drink inside the cinema to watch your film, only water! What a complete waste of time and money! It's a great place if you you're Welsh, and believe saying hello in the native language is some sort of superpower, so if you're stuck up, like most Welsh speaking people, then this is the place for you.

Food is good & well priced considering it's a charity/arts centre and the local area. The fact that you can get a breakfast tea for just £1.25 gets it a big thumbs up, and there's always space to sit for a long catch up or to get your laptop out. However, the bar service is often very slow and I've had more than one instance of café/bar staff just being plain rude - in general, the customer service here could use some work.

Good place to meet friends, eat, chat, visit the Gallery. Should be more prominent signage though that current content not suitable for under 12 years. Friendly, efficient. Love love LOVE Chapter!! Been here to see quite a few films and always have such a good time. It's so much nicer than going to a big chain cinema for literally the same price, and they are much more likely to do subtitled screenings which means I enjoy watching the films so much more. Also went to the cafe for lunch last week, and loved it. The salad bowl was SO tasty and the coffee was brilliant too! They also have a lot more going on so definitely recommend seeing what's on and giving them a visit!

We went to see a film on Sunday afternoon and planned to have lunch before the film. The film was at 3.10 and lunch was advertised as available from 12 to 4. We arrived around 1.45 after a journey of well over an hour and found there was no parking available at all. After driving around and waiting for a parking space for some time we eventually had to park illegally. We then went to get lunch at just after 2 and were told the vegetarian Sunday lunch option was already sold out about half way through the service. Fortunately, the film was good, but the experience was totally spoilt by the lack of parking (exacerbated by the inability/reluctance of staff to make any useful suggestions) and the poor planning in the kitchen ("We only serve lunch until we run out" is not an acceptable customer service response half way through the advertised lunch service period). Extremely disappointed.

A wonderful arts centre, with a great variety of activities available to visitors. There is a cinema, theatre and gallery. Great workshop spaces. There are also community activities, such as games nights and a wonderful storytelling circle. There's a large cafe/bar area that, while not cheap, is well stocked, with something for everyone. My experience of eating here is very positive. There are also, often, great performances held here by well known stage acts and commedians.

I have been visiting Chapter in both my & it's various incarnations since the early 1980s - for me it is now too "corporate" and has lost that 'something special' edge - however, that is the way things are & what is needed to survive ( apparently!) - we have both lasted much longer than anyone would have thought back then - it is still a great place as an artist, audience member or casual visitor, but the future is not what it used to be 🤔🫣🤪

First time here and it was not a disappointment, lots of events going on when we got there from cinema, cultural and what we came for an jazz fusion instrumentalist. Building is really spacious with an enclosed courtyard that was glass covered. Bar was great with a good range of drinks to suit all. Plenty of seating for small and large groups. My first experience of gender neutral toilets that actually were very inclusive and thought out design. Overall it's a unique setting with plenty to offer.

Regular customers turned away on rainy Saturday afternoon as we had the dog with us. Covered outside area was full but there was loads of space inside at the garden end where we've been allowed before. Was told because they were serving food. This makes no sense as a dog on a lead has no impact on food service. Now the weather has changed we'll have to find elsewhere to spend our money.

It's not been for a while, so I thought as we were passing, we would pop in. Not very busy, mainly people sitting on their laptops. A little run down in the outside seating area, some maintenance required. Went to bar area for cake, coffee and a glass of wine. Even though there was more staff than customers. Purchasing the cake and coffee they made to go to the end of the bar to buy the wine. Didn't make sense as they were joined. So service was disappointing. Wasn't wowed with the experience and atmosphere, but it could have just been down to timing. May try again if passing in the future

Chapter had a decent run about 10 years ago, but I haven’t visited in a while. I returned for a business meeting last year - my partner chose it as a meeting place. A whole bunch of staff - I counted 9 staff for less than 20 customers, all walking around like zombies, totally hating being there and acting like they care nothing about any of the customers. It’s not okay to ask for donations everywhere, to complain about being in danger for years, whilst you have some many staff on - with no interest in helping any of the customers. Chapter is an arts charity, a classic example of everything that sometimes goes wrong with these: the fat cats at the top paying themselves £60k a year, surrounding themselves with people who do the jobs for them, but constantly begging for money from the public and the public purse. It’s fair to say I won’t be going there soon.

I was designated driver on Tuesday 8th August so ordered 2x330ml cans of 'Big Drop' alcohol free (though on the can it said 0.5%but that's by the by) I nearly fainted when I was charged £10.00.
