We stopped here for breakfast as we were passing through Bodmin and we were pleasantly surprised. Lovely breakfast, comfortable environment and service was amazing.

Went here after a disappointing visit to Bodmin jail, searched round Bodmin for a sit down with coffee. Ordered coffee but then realised we wanted cream tea, the staff easily accommodated this. The tea and scones were lovely and staff were fabulous!

We popped in here while on holiday a couple of weeks ago. We'd been to the courtroom experience and wanted drinks before doing the next thing and we almost missed this little coffee shop, except I saw the orange signs billowing in the breeze, so in we popped. I had a gorgeous hot chocolate and hubby had coffee, while our 3 kids took advantage of the supershakes on offer. They had a hard time choosing as they all looked so good!! It was a nice little stop off and a much welcomed drink. Great little find.

Hi we visited this friendly small coffee shop today.we were made very welcome, including the doG. .which is not true of Costa coffee up the road. .coffee was very good. .peanut milkshake was amazing..cheesy chips just right and a good and reasonable menu lots of wraps paints and baked potatoes. .ideal for a light lunch..friendly staff too 😊

We were on holiday and we love to try and search out local cafes and eateries.It was around lunchtime and we were exploring the area/We spotted this lovely little place and went in. It was dog friendly too which was a bonus as we had our spaniel with us.The two young ladies couldn't have been more helpful. They clearly do their own cooking and the place had a real homely feel to it. Perfect. I had the savoury "cream tea" which consisted of a cheese scone cream cheese and pickle served with a pot of tea. It was delicious. My husband had a toasted panini with salad which he enjoyed too. There is parking nearby so please give this lovely little treasure a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Come here quite often and always enjoy the food, drink and service. All food is fresh, well prepared and presented and all staff are very kind and polite.

We've visited this cafe a couple of times now. The refurbishment looks lovely... Fur baby friendly too which is always a bonus... The staff couldn't of been more attentive... I'm led to believe they have a new cook, and a first class front of house team.... Its small and Independant.. You might have to wait a few minutes for your food but its all cooked fresh to order... Keep up the good work and see you all on our next visit....

Thought we’d try one of the little independent cafes today in Bodmin, we are very fussy about our coffee, I would prob go as far to say it was one of the best americanos I’ve had in a long time , beautiful carrot cake too, very friendly staff, what a little gem, will def be returning 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

My partner and I tried this place for lunch and left feeling underwhelmed and hungry. Salad was weird colours and not vibrant at all, the cucumber was translucent and the chicken goujons looked like they were shallow fried in a pan, as they were burnt on one side and beige on the other. Disappointing that a local cafe can’t get it right, sadly for the prices they were charging, Costa or Wetherspoons on the high street offer a better standard for the money, which says it all.

As it’s been a year since my regular, twice a week visits, I thought I should update you all!! Well, quite simply, it’s still the best place to eat in Bodmin, or why would I still be going!?

Bodmin wasn’t quite what we were expecting. There was a lack of quality independent coffee shops. After a long wander we finally came across Chapter Ei8ht. There was a mice welcome. The cafe and toilets were clean and they had soya milk. There wasn’t an enticing selection of cakes and the lattes weren’t made well. We left the town feeling we’ve been to Bodmin and needn’t return!

Popped in for a quick bit of lunch with my daughters before an appointment. Totally Unplanned. We didn't have much time. Our food came promptly and was all very delicious and freshly made. Will be making ànother trip when we can.

Popped in for a light lunch, daughter have a superb bacon and hash brown sandwich, my wife is a celiac and highly recommends the gluten free option, as there is a fair choice for a lunchtime. All in all a great lunchtime stop off and very reasonably priced too. Staff very good at making you feel looked after

We had a regular breakfast at this little cafe shop. The service and the food is avarage, the strawberry hot chocolate is really delicious. The cleanliness at the dining are is 5 but the toialett is 3. The style of the shop is lovely.

By Far the best breakfasts in Bodmin. I come here regularly with the work lads for breakfasts, all freshly made with a quick, efficient and polite service. I also come regular with my daughter on weekends, they do a huge selection of super shakes, smoothies and cakes too.

What a little beauty of a cafe by far the best in bodmin. Brilliant food and great service all with a smile :) lovely decor inside and out. Couldnt recommended it enough definitely worth a visit and good prices too.

Came here for a quick coffee with the kids when visiting Bodmin and maybe we should have looked a bit further?

The town clock stuck 10am, we see a sign pointing us in, looks nice, we are greeted with a warm welcome and pointed to a table. Order at the counter we are told, 1 egg and bacon sandwich and 1 Omelette on toast, please "Great looking forward to that", we sit we wait, town clock strikes the half hour as waitress approaches our table "sorry for the delay, but our kitchen has decided no omelette's today, would you like something as a replacement" I reply, you have eggs for a sandwich and milk for our tea, but you have decided not to do an Omelette, reply "No, sorry". I ordered a second sandwich and the wait continued, 45 minutes from the clocks strike we got our sandwiches. Sad that what seemed a nice little café is let down by a lazy kitchen please don't display items on your menu if your staff don't have the get up and go to cook them.

Popped in for a coffee with friends in the week, not been in before but it was a lovely little cafe. Clean, tidy, busy (always a good sign) and staff were very friendly.

Very happy with service food was great nice people, a returner for sure and will recommend to friends passing this way

Wonderful place with lovely food at a reasonable price. Most of their food is cooked fresh on the premises and not bought in frozen to be reheated.

A cold Saturday in Feb 18 and what a warm friendly welcome and great value food. This place is not only people friendly, it's doggy friendly too. Great specials and and full English is fantastic value. Wow a truly lucky find

We moved to Bodmin 3 months ago. I love my fried breakfasts and coffee! I went along to Chapter 8 on the strength of the TripAdvisor reviews and what a smart move that was!! Here I am 3 months later and now a “regular”!! There is no doubt in my mind that they serve the best food locally, by a long way and all served by really friendly people, where nothing is too much trouble!! Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!!

I very often visit here with friends, we always receive a great service. Food is cooked fresh to order and the quality is great. Reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Chapter Ei8ht is a very clean, well decorated and welcoming cafe at the bottom of Honey Street in Bodmin. Service comes with a smile and the food is brilliant every time. I often eat here and I will highly recommend Chapter Ei8ht's fantastic cooked breakfast.

My wife and I have had lunch here when we visited Bodmin. The meals are always good, particularly the cheesy chips. You can sit inside or on the terrace. The staff are always friendly. The prices are very reasonable.

Having recently moved to Bodmin and loving my breakfasts, I'm delighted to have found the best breakfast in town by far!! Try it, you won't be disappointed folks!! 1st class food served by 1st class people!! 👍🏻🍳

We love this cafe and when ever in Bodmin call in for a coffee. The coffee is as good as you will find in any of the national coffee shops but the ambience and service is Cornish. In the winter the fire is roaring in the stove and it is even lit on damp miserable summer days. When the sun shines one can sit out on the small terrace and watch the world go by. Every one is welcomed......even the dog!!!

Great food and great staff - what more do you want. I have been for their cooked breakfast and I can say with confidence you will not be disappointed. Their lunches are great too. It's a quality little cafe!

Stopped off here on the way home from holiday in Cornwall. Really tasty breakfast nice to have a "quality" breakfast with real quality ingredients rather than just a cheap greasy breakfast. Really good prices and great value for money! Certainly worth a visit!

Lovely little cafe with a good menu. Food is fresh and tasty, good value for money and portion size is great. Staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Just had the best breakfast so much food on the plate really struggled to eat it all but didn't want to leave it as it was scrummy. Lovely welcoming staff and relaxed vibe. Highly recommend a visit to chapter8 you won't be disappointed xx :)
