I looked inside initially as it has a craft area, but stayed for cake and tea. It’s an old chapel so there are interesting nooks, and the Ten Commandments! Table service is quick and efficient. Cakes are amazing! Lots of comfy seating including easy chairs.

Stopped here because of the TA reviews and were glad to do so--very friendly welcome in this lovely village. The tea room is very quirky--good menu and good value for money.

Old Ship Aground

02/09/2019: Came here for lunch whilst waiting for a friend at the nearby hospital. Located at the harbour end of the beach it is a lovely old building , there are plenty of tables outside but it was a little showery so we ate inside. Initially buying drinks a little surprised at the price £10 for half of Estella and a large Chardonnay, but it was a nice Chardonnay so didn’t mind. Then spotted the wine options listed which offered a limited but different choice, not often you see a Spanish white as the house wine. Service was excellent , a waitress gave us menus explained what wasn’t available and provided the daily specials. Our order was taken at the table . We both had the Smoked salmon and crayfish linguine from the daily specials, it wasn’t the most generous portion , but as with these dishes it is more than you think. The sauce was delicious, creamy and there was plenty of salmon and crayfish, my suggestion would be to add a little bit of fresh bread or garlic bread to soak up the rest of the sauce. Other dishes that passed by looked good , the burgers looked really substantial. Good choice of beers. Food is not served all day so don’t leave it too late. Check out the comic book wallpaper in the toilets really bright and cheerful.
13/09/2019: On a recommendation from locals, we sampled the burgers at The Old Ship Aground and boy were they good.
