Food was bland/sweet to the point we binned it and cooked something instead! A’quick’ Friday night dinner ended up with us eating later after doing the cooking ourselves.

Second time we have been this restaurant, family of four seated and waited on by friendly staff, food was served and was fantastic, fresh, flavoursome and good size portions, would recommend, and eat here again.

Ordered at 6:23pm (website said 30-45 mins delivery) Then update to say arriving 720pm then 735-55pm finally arrived at 8pm. Too late for my husband to eat. Hopeless. Food is delicious but it's such shame the wait ruined the take away for us.

Delivered in good time. Food was ok but not the standard I'd expect for the price. my husband was happy with his green curry, but the chicken in my sweet and sour was chewy, and £6.95 for the prawn side was overpriced for just three prawns and a handful of noodles. a little disappointing as I was expecting some nice flavours, but it was a little bland.

Lovely food and friendly staff. Really quick service. Lots of vegetarian options. Corn cakes and tempura were great. Reasonable prices and lovely building - timber beams and cosy atmosphere. Will definitely come again to try the bubble tea.

Absolutely brilliant!!! Let’s be honest, most restaurants in Ely deliver poor food on weekdays, but Chang Chai are great! Really tasty food! The meat on the ribs just falls off. The rice was fluffy. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. Really impressed. Will definitely be using again!

Tempura prawns not really tempyre as they were breadcrumbs and noodle dish not very good at all full of brocoli

Found this lovely Thai Restaurant whilst on a coach trip to Ely. One of our group is a Thai lady and she arranged a shared meal. Staff all very friendly and service excellent. I’ve eaten a lot of Thai food both here and in Thailand but this was the best I have ever had. Thank you Thai Kitchen.🏆

This was the first time we had eaten here, the restaurant had been strongly recommended to us. The whole experience was very poor: the restaurant tired and in need of redecorating, the staff were surly and disinterested, but the most disappointing issue was the food. We each ordered a chicken curry: the chicken was luke warm and sliced, clearly not cooked with the curry sauce but added at the end, the meat tasted old and strong, and frankly as if it was a supermarket left over. The curry sauces themselves were OK as was the rice. And finally there was a non-optional service charge. Nothing would induce us to eat there again - there are plenty of much better options in Ely. I feel like we wasted our hard-earned money!

Best restaurant in Ely. Good, relaxed atmosphere with efficient delivery service as well. Staff are top and always willing to help. Food is top of the range. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing Thai food thanks

This is yet another one of those places where I just can’t understand how they’re getting all these great reviews. I wouldn’t class this Thai food, more like Asian fusion. They serve Thai fishcakes that are simply not Thai fishcakes at all. Frist of all, they don’t use the correct ingredients, but at least this is kind of stated on the menu, as it says that they are made with “mixed white fish”. On top of that though, the fish cakes are battered in some sort of panko flake batter. The soft shell crab was also battered and deep fried and was dripping in oil and tasted very bland. The weeping Tiger came with a dipping sauce that I couldn’t identify at all. I’ll have to give it to them though that at least the steak that the weeping Tiger was made with was very nicely cooked and nice and rare as it should be. The Pad See Ew was again very weirdly flavoured and mostly bland. Their staff were very friendly though and service was good. They only had Singha in 330ml bottles rather than on tap, which is a shame as the flavour is also not as good. What was most concerning though was that their fire exit was partially blocked by a table inside of the restaurant and fully blocked by a parked car outside of the restaurant.

The soup was great and the squid was good as was the rice. I would definitely order them again. The other items were less flavourful and were more sugary than Thai food I have had before- I think that the food in the restaurant is better quality and more flavourful than for delivery.

The atmosphere and staff were all very good. The building was also full of character. The food was hot (temperature) and served promptly and was good quality. The reason I gave four stars and not five was that the food was like every other Thai restaurant and although pleasant, lacked authenticity or that special something. Admittedly the bill was reasonable and we only tried two dishes, perhaps some of the others are amazing? Certainly worth trying if you are in Ely, you won’t be disappointed, but you won’t be knocked out either.

Never disappointed by this restaurant. Food was excellent. Service very good and we had a thoroughly good evening celebrating a special birthday. Been several times now and enjoyed it every time.

Absolutely brilliant, i came over from northampton for a brother in laws birthday and i had the tom kha soup for starters and the drunkin noodles for mains. Having visited thialand alot for work this place has been the best place ive eaten in the uk that give you. 1:good portion per serving 2:good service 3:if you ask for spicy its going to be spicy. 4:good serving times. The absolute only negative would be they dont serve chang. But was overall incredible food. Please open a branhc my way 🙏🙏🙏

Our first visit here was good the staff were lovely..

We have been to many Thai restaurants before & I was quite taken aback when I saw the gravy swimming in the plate...I was more used to having served in a bowl separately from the rice. Anyway, I ordered the pork belly; and the meat was dry, took awhile to chew and I had to cut away the skin. The green curry chicken was ok...both on a smaller quantity. Without the 15% discount, this would be a very expensive lunch! Looking through at the reviews, definitely it needs to pay a bit more attention to the quality & quantity of the meal.

I usually go there for the bubble tea and I think it tastes SO GOOD I personally like the taro one, it is sweet enough with a cream on the top

I’ve had Thai food many times and work with Thai people, not really authentic Thai cuisine to be fair, ok but not excellent. Bubble tea with cream not my taste, sorry

Visited this Thai restaurant for a mid week lunch. Starters (ribs and squid) weren OK. Main courses were delicious. Discount for lunch dining made this a really great value place. Music in the background is bloody annoying.

Great food have had many takeaways from here and dined in , would love to order more but as others have said it’s a tad expensive. My feedback would be add Takeout discount would be nice 👍 Also the rice used to come free with the specials but now it’s an extra £1 on top ?? I thought 15.95 was expensive now it kinda just seems overpriced ..

Sticky rice used to come free with the beef dish now it’s an extra £1 ? Was already expensive just seems a bit greedy and unnecessary on top of the fact there is no reduction In price for take out which seems a bit unfair too , would order more otherwise but it’s just so expensive . Also it mentioned food stamps on justeat and I’ve ordered befor but have never got any food stamps registered ?

Chicken was like rubber (left all of it) and the pad Thai was nowhere near as flavourful as in the restaurant.

We were a little disappointed. I called especially to ask if the rice was reasonably portioned with the dishes. We were told no and so I ordered more. We did not need to order more so we felt out of pocket there. In addition we requested extra spicy, it was not. Finally the thing that was most disappointing was that considering we’d spent £60 we were surprised to not even received a packet of crackers. This would be standard at most restaurants. Was a shame really.

Pad Thai was tasteless, beef noodle dish just tasted like pepper (and was cold). Pork toast was three tiny squares of soggy bread for £6.50! So disappointing

Food was great, especially the Labb Beef, which was tender with a hot and spicy zing. Jumbo prawns tasted great, but had been battered with the tails and shells on. That meant that you had to take off the batter to peel them and then you lost the batter and most of the sauce! Needs work on the prep for this dish though will definitely order the Labb Beef again.

Too early. There is no way they could cook the food and deliver it in 15 minutes. The meat taste like it was old and the prawn crackers was old too. No flavour! Very disappointing. We won’t be ordering from there again.

Extremely delicious food. I came here for lunch and was not disappointed. The extremely friendly staff were a delight and the food was delicious. The flavours really brought me back to my travels through Thailand. A great selection of authentic Thai dishes and drinks makes this a must visit for those in the area. I highly recommend.

Most of the fried shellfish still had the shells on and so a lot of the flavour was lost when removed. The food was not as spicy as expected and in fact, fairly bland. For the price, disappointed.

I ordered tom yum soup, spicy sea bass fish, phad thai, but the soup is alright. The fish wash delicious, however the phad thai was a let down. Pad thai is my favorite I always order it whenever I eat thai cuisine. So I was a bit disappointed by thei phad thai. The tofu was too sour, its probably already off. But tofu shouldnt be sour. The sourness of the tofu made the flavpur of my phad thai sour as well. Over all they are okay. Im going to try another dish to give them another chance, hopefully it will be better.
