Restaurant Right in the middle of the high street Group of 3 of us ate Saturday lunchtime, friendly& accommodating service, great tasting food, so we decided to detour to eat in again on our way back home m only disappointment is they slough it’s only a low step in & then the restaurant is on one level , it was difficult getting the wheelchair in even without me in it and they have no accessible toilet ( in fact their toilets are all up a couple of flights of stairs ( there is a hand railon both sides to assist! Delicious food at a reasonable price , if I lived local It would be a regular 😊

The starters were really nice. I had the duck pancakes. The sweet and sour chicken was way to sweet and a bit sickly.

I stopped by this evening, as it looked a nice Thai restaurant on the outside and the menu sounded good and was reasonably priced. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and that really does make a huge difference when you go out for a meal. It was lovely. I chose a chicken parcel starter with sweet chilling sauce and it was lovely. Then I had a Pad Thai with prawns. That was really tasty and light. I wasn't rushed to finish and I enjoyed a relaxing evening and a tasty meal. I always judge Thai restaurants on their Pad Thai and I'll definitely be going back there and trying something else, next time I'm in Sheringham.

Fantastic Thai food would definitely recommend to go here for a meal

We were in Sheringham visiting for the day and were after something a little different for lunch. We took in the lunchtime special, which was excellent value. The food was great, and the experience really enjoyable.

We looked at previous reviews and had a gamble, we thought it was quite expensive, the food itself tasted more like Chinese than proper Thai food, staff were all lovely but we wouldn't eat here again starters were good, main was nice but as stated it was like having a Chinese and not authentic Thai.

Lovely romantic settings, great food (panang and garlic chilli were delicious) and excellent service. On top of it all, very reasonable pricing. Things to improve potentially: use food warmers for the hot dishes

The food is superb! Try the duck starters and the, i know i have spelt this wrong, Tamadrin duck and Honey pork. Beautiful. Definitely going back.

Terrible service. Like really bad. the place was also dirty but we were starving and far way from out place of stay. The food was incorrect and cold and took an hour to arrive. and they did not even compensate us for who they treated us and the constant issues related to our dine in experience.

Popular restaurant that caters well for large family groups / parties. Deceptively large with as much space upstairs as down. Mainly Thai cuisine with a few Malaysian and other dishes, excellent quality food and great service. Booking likely necessary in tourist season and especially for larger groups but we managed to get in with only a day’s notice when most places we tried were fully booked. We paid £200 for 3 courses for 6 people with drinks, could have saved a bit by sharing rice between 2 as quite a bit left due to large portion.

Visited here with my parents yesterday and was a little disappointed...The menu that was outside was not offered inside - we were given a Lunch Express Menu whereas a full menu was not offered at all. The Lunch Express menu had some of the more popular options, which was nice but my wife was excited to have something that was not on the menu. The food was served quickly and the staff were friendly, but the food was only slightly above average - some good flavours in there but they could have added more vegetables and meat to pad out the noodles etc. I would go again, but more accuracy on the menu would have been appreciated.

Busy place so service may be a little slow. Food was excellent and staff helpful and pleasant.

Incredibly slow service, 30 minutes to get our starter which is okay, but over an hour for our main course wasn’t okay. The waiter completely messed up the drinks order, I never actually what I wanted! There was apparently only one chef on and it was raining so there were several walk ins. We had booked, but the walk ins were getting served food before us, as were the customers who were loudly complaining. It was meant to be our highlight meal, as it is one of our favourite restaurants, sadly, after tonight we won’t be going back. The food was nice enough, but not up to their usual standard.

1 Star only based on times displayed on website, not on food. Website says they are open from 12noon until 3pm (Wed - Sun) yet we visited today to find different times displayed on their door. Certainly not open Wednesday lunch time🙁

Food very average, service appalling.

The place looks nice, the staff is very friendly, but the food was disappointing, unfortunately. There were so many shortcuts in the dishes than it was hard to recognise them. We ordered beef jungle curry, but it didn’t have all the ingredients it usually should.

A beautiful restaurant with very friendly and welcoming staff. The starters we had were very nice (sweetcorn cakes and calamari). We were disappointed with the main noodle dishes, particularly the pad Thai, which was very heavily soaked in sweet and sour sauce. Dishes on other tables looked much better (curries etc), so we probably just didn’t make the right menu choice. Overall, would recommend but not for noodle dishes.

We went here for a dinner recently and it was a nice meal out. Three of us had some Deepfried Calamari, Sweetcorn cake, Pad Thai, seafood noodles, some speacial fried rice and egg fried rice. All the dishes were tasty. The Pad Thai was very sweet and not spicey at all, which was a bit disappointing. We found the spicey levels were generally low, even the 3 chilli rated Seafood noodles. However, it wasn't a massive problem. The interior decor was very nice. The staff were very friendly and respectful. We wouldn't mind visiting here again. Thank you 😊

We dined here before the thursford evening show. It was superb. We had duck, chicken noodles and giant prawn salad. All delicious and full of Asian flavour. The service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Called their on Saturday 20th Nov booked for 6.30pm we eventually got offered a drink around about 30mins later , took food order 7.10 starter came 7.40 main meal 8.15 too long to wait didn’t bother to wait for dessert ,also asked two different members of staff for some tap water , none appeared very busy and no staff disappointing

Popped in for lunch and they were so welcoming 🙏 it was very quiet at 1.30 on a Tuesday. The food was absolutely delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it so thank you very much.

Avoid - when you walk in it smells great but it’s the rest of the meal let’s it down. Sharing Starter platter was bland and small portion for the price, served in chipped dishes which is poor practice, the main was soggy and inedible and obviously sent it back and was replaced with an okay portion though They use cheap Thai sweet chilli sauce with the starter and main The whole experience would have been better from a Tesco Box meal I would not return to this place again

Phoned last minute for a table of eight and they managed to accommodate us. Food was very tasty and the staff are really friendly and helpful. We visited whilst on holiday and will definitely visit again. You can tell the restaurant is good by the number of locals eating there.

Another great meal at Chai Yo, this time Beef Noodle Soup. Succulent bits of beef with noodles and crunchy carrot and celery. Delicious!

Had the lunch menu. The food was excellent, the staff were helpful and friendly and they were so good with my 6yo who was having her first Thai food experience. Can't wait to go back for an evening meal - highly recommended. UPDATE: went back last night with my, now, 9yo. Still a great place to eat, with attentive staff and wonderful food.

I've never been so disappointed in a meal, no Thai flavours at all, the tom yung soup tasted like a stock cube and water with some sweet chill sauce added, no hint whatsoever of any galangal, lemongrass, lime leaves, and no coriander. Their house special of crispy squid in special sauce was cheap sweet chilli sauce (the type you get from costco), and the chilli and garlic pork, had no garlic, I could barely taste the chill, well I've had better from the supermarket - in fact I think I've had better in my staff canteen, really a place to avoid.

Food smelled great when we walked it but it was really, really disappointing - not a hint of authentic Thai flavour, more like the worst kind of generic Chinese takeaway food, with the same sauce used for several dishes that should have had their own distinct flavours. No chilli heat, no fresh coriander or Thai basil, and the supposedly crispy tofu was as soggy as a wet sponge. Staff asked how we found the meal and when we offered constructive criticism they pretty much just shrugged their shoulders. Not cheap either. Avoid.

Very tasty food with a range of tasty flavours and spices! I had the massman beef curry and it was so good, the beef was very tender, the sauce was the right consistency and tasted great!

We love food from Chai-Yo! Always made super fast and is delicious. We are all veggies and the tofu dishes are great. The only problem is that it is really popular, so get your order in early on a busy day!

As a family of 8 we had a take away from Chai-Yo. So quite a wide variety from the menu, including the vegetarian options. Each meal was amazing! All the dishes were hot, plenty of food, well made and flavours well balanced. The meals were extremely tasty, and I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone! Really really pleased, an easy 5*. Keep up the great work Chai-Yo!

Oh My Word...We popped in to this restaurant on the off chance as we looked at a few of the pubs in Sheringham but didn't fancy any of them. So glad we did! We had a set meal for 2 and boy it was absolutely delicious! The chef came out to ask us if we were happy to which we both were indeed. All three courses were freshly cooked. We couldn't fault it.
