Ceno in Southampton

Fantastic place! We had our first date at this place many years ago and it remains as good as ever.

I was blown away by my experience at Ceno's. What a fantastic place! I came for Sunday dinner with family, and it must be up there with one of the best Sunday dinners I've had. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the portion size was perfect! I also had a starter and dessert, and again they were lovely. Service was just right, not too fast or too slow, and a great sociable atmosphere be it in the restaurant or at the bar. I will definitely be coming back!

Great place for a lunch/dinner. Decent service and good tasty food. Ample seating spaces, clean toilets. £50 for 2. Main course dishes are great, ask for availability before ordering. Sides/more than sides portion sizes are below average.

Not that busy and they still couldn’t get it right. Ordered a burger which was cold and the bottom of the bun was wet and mushy🤢. Ceno reason why at all.

After a wonderful visit to the theatre myself and three friends went for dinner to ceno I have been many times before and as always the food was excellent so delicious and well presented the staff are so professional and friendly and such a buzz and great atmosphere.Thankyou ceno for the best time.

Our go to restaurant, the staff are brilliant. Food is interesting, tasty and made with good quality ingredients in plentiful quantities. Parking is a doddle in the hotel next door (free) and the opportunity to sit outside when its warm and dry is great.

Delicious food and waiting staff full of kindness. We went on a very quiet night but that didn't mean any compromise on food quality. We had a selection of starters for sharing and then one of the large sides. Everything is excellent, but I'd particularly recommend the sticky lamb. For dessert we shared the mini selection and it was a win, however next time I'll probably go for a full size sticky toffee pudding. The waiting staff were absolutely delightful. Conversation with one was particularly special as she made us feel extremely wanted. I'm told that it's similarly good when busy, so I look forward to returning on any day, and I'll be having a larger portion of the lamb.

We visited Ceno to celebrate my sons engagement,and it did not disappoint. Lorraine and her staff were truly exceptional and it was a very memorable day. Cenos is really one of the best roasts in Southampton without a doubt.

I hosted my best friends baby shower, and it was amazing. People are still talking about the food now! The bar staff did an amazing job, with a very busy bar and welcome drinks. Lorraine was so accommodating, and made it a very special day.

Spent a lovely few hours at Ceno’s for a baby shower celebration! Atmosphere was lovely and staff couldn’t be more friendly and helpful! Food was awesome - good lunch choice selection and delivered to our tables by the lovely Lorraine. Definitely be returning to sample more food from the menu.

Me and a friend had dinner there a few nights ago, I have to say the food was amazing. My new favourite spot. The staff there were so welcoming, going above and beyond to make sure they cater for anyone and everyone. I highly recommend ceno if you haven’t already been down there.

Visited CENO this evening for a catch up with a friend. Lovely chilled atmosphere. We were met with really friendly greeting from Zoe & JC, and their great service continued throughout the time we were there. Opted for the 5 for £25 tapas, all of our choices were amazing, favourite was sticky lamb salads. We then opted for the mini desserts, definitely a great choice, all so tasty. Great place, friendly staff and gorgeous food.

Honestly a lovely time whenever i come here. Very kind and responsive staff and their service is always friendly and attentive. Great food and lively bar space. The garden is also lovely to sit it. Always a good time.

Upon arrival the staff was very welcoming and friendly, great drink selection and always served with a smile and great manners. When we ordered food we was recommended some of the popular dishes so a few of us followed the lady’s recommendation and they did not disappoint some of the best food we have all tasted at a great price. Had a lovely Sunday roast at Cenos, we Googled best Sunday roast in Southampton when we couldn't get a table at the Toby. And boy glad this place popped up, much better in my opinion. The sticky lamb salad starter was incredible. And the roast was well up there too. The potatoes could have been slightly smaller and crispier, but other than that it was a mean meal. As it's only down the road from us we'll be sure to be back.

Was recommended Ceno by a local friend. And he wasn’t wrong. The Sunday roast was amazing, nicely served with a good amount of everything you’d expect. This was the type of roast you’d get at a nice country pub, the chef and staff certainly run it very well. The food was absolutely lovely, all the food that was being argued looked just as good as ours was. Great parking facilities, Would recommend, large outside seating area aswell.

Wasn’t blown away by the food which is disappointing as pictures looked great however the night was saved by the great staff that night , they were all having fun and getting involved with all of us and even gave us a free round of drinks … spent a lot of money though

Sunday roasts amazing! Had the vegetable hash and all of it tasted as amazing as it smelt and looked. Sticky toffee pudding and lemon cake for pudding too was too good couldn't decide between the two, did split one with a friend who said the same. The food here was absolutely phenomenal! We did end up with a tab of over £100 for two of us, but we ordered a lot of food and wanted to try a lot. On a second visit, this would drop and I'd say you could eat well here for around £25-30 a head. For starters we shared 3, the sticky lamb salad, fried chicken with massala mayo and the cheesy garlic focaccia. I'd have all 3 again to be honest. The chicken with flavourful and the focaccia was fantastic. But the lamb was incredible. A wonderful little romaine lettuce wrap with a fresh salad sitting under a sticky, crispy, warm lamb serving. For mains I had the surf and turf and my wife had the tajin chicken skewer. Both wonderful. The surf and turf comes with tempura prawns which were everything a tempura prawn should be. Light, juicy, crispy and well seasoned. it also came with 3 ribs, sticky and meaty. And a sticky beef fillet which was cooked to a medium rare. Although interestingly, I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked. The confit potatoes with this dish were stunning. Crispy, crunchy and delicious. My wife's skewer was delicious, paired with an avocado salsa and a portion of fries. The only complaint is the flatbread was too crispy. It was just cracking. But the chicken, salad and salsa were a fantastic combination. For dessert they offer a taster mmset for £12. Mini versions of all 6 makn desserts, so we had to try that. The creme brulee, Eton mess and ice cream were my favourite. I'm a big brownie fan, but it wasn't great here. Tasted like a dry cake. The sticky toffee pudding was delectable but I imagine it could become a little too sickly with a larger helping. And the warm lemon cake was also delicious. All in all, I would and will definitely come back here again! And I'm waiting for the weather to cheer up a bit so I can sit outside in what looks like a fantastic al fresco option.

Ceno is a pleasant place to meet up with friends and have a drink or a meal. I find, though, that it can be noisy, especially with music constantly on.

We've been coming here at least weekly for about 15 years (since it opened). The food is consistently fabulous and the staff friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The outside terrace is a great place to hang out in the summer months. Love it here!
