Caviar House & Prunier - St James Street in City of London, Westminster

Drastic decline in service from what they used to be. They were out of Balik beer, didn't offer a chocolate at the end like they used to, service was really casual and did not seem like they were interested at all, barely came to our table despite a mostly empty restaurant. The seafood itself was very mediocre, no freshness or taste to it at all, could have just got a filet-o-fish for 1/100 of the price. Pretty insulting considering the insane amount of money we paid. Really don't think I'll be going here ever again.

went in the evening for st. valentine's day. arrived 4 mins. late due to the tube, but wasn't a problem. the place had a refit since I last went. gone are the bright red chairs, and in come soft colours, good lighting. overall, very comfortable & welcoming. service was impeccable. prompt & attentive, but not over-bearing or intrusive. our hosts were able to answer & explain everything very well. food was exquisitely presented & delicious! had a variety of plates, from salmon, to their fantastic rock lobster sandwich and, of course, some caviar. the three stars for the value is only because it is a little on the pricey side, but I guarantee- it is worth busting the bank to dine there. I would highly recommend.

We ordered seafood platters, my parents were very happy although I was only very impressed with the oyster, should have ordered just several of those. The baby shrimp seemed very water logged to me, not much to taste. But we enjoyed our time and the service was very attentive.

I booked a table as my son and I were visiting London, which he loves. The food and service was nothing short of excellent. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel as though we were the only ones there. The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere very relaxing. We are certain to dine there again the very next time we visit the capital.

The atmosphere and the vodka was great. So much so we forgot to take pictures. Posh and lovely . Service was actually lovely for us.

Excellent food!! This has been a bucket list restaurant for me for many years and I told myself if I ever got back to London, I would eat here. It was a wonderful meal, we had the lobster roll and the main experience starter with caviar, fois gras, and salmon. Excellent!! We will be back!!

We sat at the counter. The place was not particularly busy. Service was polite, knowledgeable, and attentive. Caviar was excellent.

Walked in, waitress looked at us from afar blankly. Sat at very unstable seats and there were flies everywhere. Food was decent.the flies everywhere were really off putting and the atmosphere was very dull. A fly landed right in front of us on our stuff.

The tasting platter with 50g of caviar was a great deal and a lot of food. Save some caviar for an extra deviled egg! That was the best bite.

Good service , before and when we where there. The food was great and we will look forward to next visit there.

Excellent food, friendly staff and a very pleasant experience for anyone wishing to try Caviar. Just a little down side, although the chairs were comfortable they were to low, making you feel like a child at the dining table.

Went there with the family.. We had the seafood platter, crab salad, to. Ato onion salad, gravlax and the bread tray... As expected the food was excellent and the oyster left the shell with the smell of the ocean... Worth the food and the price.. However I do not recommend eating a creamy ice-cream after such a meal... Enjoy...

No baroque in the plate but everything is presented in a laconic and perfect way. Top quality food speaks for itself. Waiter Cameron is perfect.

Expectably pricey but exceptional quality. If you must have seafood whilst shopping and meandering London, this certainly does the trick.

Everything is beautifully fresh. If you love salmon and seafood then this is a must visit ; If you like Caviare remortgage the house. Coffee is strong enough to help you recover from the bill you will receive...I can recommend the lobster and crayfish Cesar salad, my wife raved about the fresh oysters, any form of Salmon in this restaurant is amazing. Gave the atmosphere a 4 because essentially you eat at comfortable tables in the shop.

There was an inebriated patron at the bar who fell off his stool. His friends were in a similar condition although upright. Staff were not in a position to throw them out and treated us very well in the circumstances.

Overdue caviar birthday late lunch with my family. Perfection! From the caviar presentation and the caviar itself, of course. Our server was so thoughtful and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. If you love caviar and are in London, I don’t know why you would go anywhere else.

Stopped in for lunch today, no wait. We split the “Taste of Excellence”, a green salad and fries with truffle salt. It was a perfect amount of food. The service was impeccable.

From the minute we walked in the staff were excellent in helping my Mum to her seat (she’s 90). I can’t claim to be a caviar connoisseur but none of us felt intimidated or embarrassed about asking anything as the staff put us perfectly at ease. The smoked salmon is the best any of us have tasted, the champagne cold and dry and the desserts were excellent, Overall a great treat for the three of us and one we’ll repeat later in the year,

I personally don't like to give low rating to businesses, but apart from the service that was quick, and the waiter polite, the food was very avarage. I don't mind paying £50 for a sandwich and a coke, but the lobster was literally tastless, and the sandwich itself was really mediocre. Good place if u are a tourist walking around Central London I guess..

Excellent service, I have been promising myself a visit for a while, finally got the chance today and wasn't disappointed.

We had the lobster club sandwich with fries and fresh orange Juice. Nothing was home made. Fries were dry. Toasts and bacon were cold, lobster had no taste. Orange Juice was not fresh squeezed. Good point : Staff was very nice

We were visiting London from Hawaii and had heard of this restaurant from friends who had visited Caviar House & Prunier in Piccadilly and highly suggested that we visit it.....soooo glad that we did! It was excellent!!! Not only was the meal terrific, but Sam and Mo, our servers/manager, took amazing care of us. They went as far as to make the Lobster club into a salad for me as I didn't care to have the bread with it...such a great luncheon experience! Thanks so much, and we will be sure to visit again on our next trip to London! Aloha, Michele & Steve

Very attentive and helpful staff, explained difference between caviar and what comes with it. Not a cheap lunch but worth it for the experience. Amusing to sit at the counter and watch life go by on Piccadily. Only a few people there presumably due to current situation

Last minute booking using the app. We went from the chaos of Bond Street to the restaurant and relaxed in minutes. Superb salmon and shellfish, lovely bottle of bubbles and really friendly welcoming staff. We will be back soon.

Tuve Salmon Two Ways, una suculenta Oyster, Shrimp Two Ways y Caviar. My husband and I unexpectedly decided to have a glass of champagne before a dinner reservation last week. We were so happy to have walked into Caviar House & Prunier. We were warmly greeted by the lovely Fernanda who gave us a very interesting synopsis of the restaurant. She had such charisma which made us feel even more welcome. We had the opportunity to try some of the house smoked salmon and oysters with our champagne. This is possibly one of the best we've ever had and will certainly be returning soon to try out their other delicacies and to also pay homage to Fernanda - a true asset to the restaurant and company. Thank you!

Posto molto chic, pieno centro di Londra. Comodissimo per arrivarci. Tutto ciò che vi portano sono fresche. Il piatto che ho preso io, il salmone si scioglieva in bocca. Consiglio a tutti di andarci almeno una volta nella vita.

Hoje segunda feira chuvosa entramos no Caviar House pois ontem,domingo passamos e programamos a ida na segunda.Ao entrar nos deparamos com um grupo de executivos no local .Entramos entregamos os casacos e logo nos foi oferecido um prato de queijo, então explicamos que era a primeira vez que estávamos lá e perguntamos como funcionava e a atendente muito delicada nos disse que poderíamos escolher os queijos e nos levou ao bar para que pudéssemos pedir as bebidas e assim pedimos uma champanhe e uma cerveja.Mas antes de conseguirmos brindar já apareceu do nada uma senhora muito rude e grosseira e sem nenhuma educação dirigindo-se a nós como se tivéssemos entrado de propósito em um evento fechado para comermos e bebermos de graça , tirou os copos das nossas mãos enquanto tentávamos entender o que estava acontecendo e explicar que ninguém até aquele momento havia nos dito que era um evento fechado. Fomos expulsos uma experiência horrível !!! Pior experiência que tivemos!!Fica aqui registrado a nossa indignação !!

Very pleasant place to spend an hour over some oysters and white wine while watching the tourists go by. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Had a very pleasant lunch in the Caviar House which, surprisingly enough, was only half full. The oysters and the salmon were delicious and my wife had the lobster salad which she thoroughly recommended. We had a bottle of white wine between three which was very satisfactory. The service was attentive without being intrusive. I would unhesitatingly recommend the Caviar House, with one caveat - the cost. The bill came to more than eighty pounds per head which for a fairly simple lunch is on the high side.

We had just arrived in London to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of our engagement and Caviar House was conveniently near Green Park Station. From stepping inside the door we had a very friendly welcome and were given the choice of a table or seats at the counter. We chose to sit at the counter and watch the action. The tempting menu made a choice very difficult but we were both really pleased with the attractively plated dishes and the quality of the food. We also took the advice of the manager, Farid, and chose the Lebanese Red which was excellent. The whole experience was enhanced by the attentive and friendly service of Farid and his professional staff. A very special start to our 2 days in London.

Great consistency between sites with this company. I have eaten at their Piccadilly, Selfridges and Heathrow sites and have never been disappointed. Great fresh seafood, wonderful service. Very impressive.

We were seated for more than 15 minutes no body came to even offer water. There were 5 people working and may be 4 costumers in the Resturant. We left and told them what a horrible service. They did not even apologize and asked us stay. Unbelievable !!! No wonder place was busy. Very expensive place!! If I were the owner I would fire them all and replace with friendly staff.

My best friend and I popped in here for a quick bite, before hitting the shops. We both had the smoked salmon, open sandwich and a glass of Chablis. They were both very good, and we will definitely visit again.

5 de nosotros almorzamos aquí el sábado / el restaurante no estaba muy ocupado, entonces, ¿por qué el servicio fue tan lento? ¿Y por qué demonios han cambiado el menú? ¡Ahora es bastante poco inspirador! Es una pena, ya que solía ser un gran lugar para una comida ligera.

So disappointing. Have been to Caviar House over the years and it’s always been good. The menu has changed now and is not very tempting and the service was poor and slow even though there were not many covers. Such a shame.
