Catch 22 Brasserie in Isle of Anglesey

We came in for a late lunch towards the end of lunch service and still received awesome service and were in no way rushed. This was absolutely food made with love and we enjoyed every mouthful! Special shout-outs for the croquettes and ribs starters, the sea bream and veggie burger mains and finishing with the snickers trifle and banana sticky toffee pudding. Massive thank you to all of the team there for such a wonderful gourmet experience!

The food and service is always fantastic. We really love it here. We think it’s amongst the best food you can get on Anglesey. Nice how the service charge is discretionary and not automatically added like many places. Can’t wait for our next visit. Thanks to all the team who work here. You’re doing a great job!

The second time here, such good quality and value for money. we had the sharing fish platter which was all superb. We drive 90mins round trip to go here, and it is totally worth it.

What can I say about Catch22?! We've always wanted to visit since you opened in Valley, but never quite found the time. Thanks to my 10 year old we were booked in for last Thursday evening and I have to say what a delight! The staff were helpful and lovely, they kept us up to date on when our food was on its way (the lady upstairs where we were sat was brilliant - didn't quite catch her name). The wine was delicious and just what was needed. The food... let me tell you about the food... my son and I ordered the C22 platter and it was out of this world! Mussels were cooked to perfection with a sauce to die for, the haddock was so yummy my son just ate it like a chocolate bar - no forks required! I loved that you catered for GF as well as you normal folk, one of the only restaurants I've been to in North Wales that has so much variety for us strange ones, as well as the option to change dishes to GF but still keeping the essence of the meal and it not detracting from the flavours. Thanks to Catch22 our love of seafood has returned!

After reading an article in the Manchester Evening News about this restaurant (and their social ethos to others in their trade and locale) we drove 190 miles round trip to see who they were and what they were about. We were walk-ins (on Good Friday). The place was packed but they made room for us (even moving tables around because there were dogs in the upstairs and I am allergic) We were treated amazingly by the staff, explained we might have a little wait as the kitchen was really busy (with polite people who had manners to book in advance 😉) - but after getting settled, and a drink being served, our order was taken by a lovely, chatty local (she told us she was from Holyhead) and we thought our wait was on. We didn’t wait as long as we expected to for any of our courses, all served in perfect time to our need. The food was absolutely amazing and for the food presentation, taste sensation and portion size the bill was less than we expected. We had the Welsh cheese croquettes and ribs to start (our daughter didn’t want a starter but then fought with me for my croquettes because they were fabulous!!) We also ordered the battered fish (husband following GF fish tradition!) I had the amazing chicken main (what a taste combination that is on a plate!!) and our daughter had the Arancini. We finished with the citrus dessert…. What a winning finish that was!!! I am so glad we took the day out to visit. And We will definitely visit again. What a fabulous find that I would have known nothing about if it wasn’t for that article in the MEN! Thank you for a lovely afternoon - a lovely start to our Easter!

Perfect date night, we booked last minute and managed to get a table, STUNNING FOOD we loved the food all made fresh the only thing that let the food down was frozen chips homemade would have been better considering the prices. But still deserves 5* review as we would love to come back! and the waitress that served us was amazing really friendly! Definitely recommend!

After being let down by another venue, Catch 22 were able to accommodate us for a late lunch today, at the very last minute. Fifteen of us were able to celebrate my in-laws 60th wedding anniversary thanks to Bethan and her team. The service was warm and friendly, the menu choice was excellent, catering from different dietary needs from vegetarian, dairy free to young children. The food was all freshly cooked, arrived in a timely manner and of an excellent quality. Thanks to the whole team for making this a memorable celebration. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Great atmosphere and good food. It is one of the best eateries on the island. Burgers are fresh and tasty, menu is extensive and interesting. Parking can be a little tricky, but its worth it.

Being local we often eat out at Catch 22 and are never disappointed. The food and service is always excellent. I’ve recently transitioned to veggie and then vegan and was lucky enough to be treated to the Vegan Taster evening by my son. He came with me even though he very much is not vegan. We were both blown away by the food. The f**k buns were incredible. As was the Banoffee Chocolate Mousse. I feel bad singling those two for a special shout out as every dish was superb but if anything is going to end up on the main menu, I’d love it to include those two dishes. The staff are always cheerful and can’t do enough for you. I love following Catch 22 on Facebook too, the posts are always made with humour and honesty which is refreshing too. Thank you!

Always friendly, helpful, smiley and gorgeous food, and the Vegan taster evening was no exception! From helping me book to making sure all my guests needs were accommodated, beautiful decor and then the food…the crispy f**k buns were simply outstanding, and the four other courses were absolute amazing too. Lovely food, cooked beautifully in clean and bright surroundings. The staff were attentive knowledgeable and engaging. We even learned a new word that we did not know was a word, however, was in the Urban Dictionary (Ask Beci). Fabulous Sunday Lunch is our new favorite on the Island. Well done one and all.

Fabulous! Can't fault the experience at all. Great atmosphere, friendly service, nice private table, and top notch food. We had starters of crispy chicken wings (my husband) and patatas bravas (me). The main courses were stunning - my husband had chargrilled mackerel and I had the lobster thermador. No room for desserts!

I've been stalking the Catch 22 facebook page for many months and salivating over their food posts. I finally got to visit them while we were on holiday in Anglesey in July and the food was spectacular. I had the salmon and snickers trifle, both were fabulous. We visited again last week, the haddock arancini with lobster bisque and Lemon tart were amazing. There are so many dishes that I still want to try because there is such a varied and interesting menu. The prices of the dishes are on the higher side but they are well worth it. The staff also are very friendly and welcoming. We'll be back soon hopefully.

Food quality this evening was exceptional, we had a halibut and a lobster thermidor from the specials menu and it was honestly perfect, 2 of the best seafood dishes we have ever had, never let's me down this place!

Seafood and non-alcoholic meals: The experience we had at this establishment was nothing short of extraordinary. My husband and I were both captivated by the sheer beauty of the dishes we ordered. The service we received was impeccable, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary preferences. We opted for the fish and chips, and since we don't consume alcohol, they graciously substituted cider in the batter and gravy with soda water, informing us of the resulting consistency change, which we appreciated. The real standout was the King Prawn Singapore Curry; it was an absolute delight that left us without a single complaint. Every aspect of the dish was spot-on, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

Another fantastic meal at Catch 22. Had chicken wings and chicken flatbread to start. Both delicious, inspired to try recreating the chicken flatbread at home but pretty sure it won't taste as good! The steak was perfectly cooked and very tasty as was the bream....

We were there for evening meal , the 2 men had prawns on panini bread which was charred and tasted like burnt toast , and three of us had rump steak which was very rubbery and most of it was brought home for the dogs....

Spontaneous choice for us as only here one night for work but obviously a well known gem in the area and absolutely delicious food , we had a couple of Oysters which were like none we’ve had before, then I had the Arancini and my husband had the prawn curry, all just perfect. Was our first visit here, we came because of the plethora of gf options. As a coeliac there was no worry about anything on the menu, everything was clearly signposted and the staff were attentive and knowledgeable too. The portions were huge, so if you're not a massive eater then be prepared to share a dish as it'll make it alot easier. It's not the cheapest of places and can get quite expensive when you add up a starter, main and drinks. It's definitely one for special occasions
