Such a fantastic place! Great staff, lovely manager! Food is outstanding (especially fish&chips and amazing Sunday Roast!!!) and don’t forget about a hidden gem - roof terrace! Highly recommended ❤️

The pub is great. Toilets are really disgusting. So smelly, no soap. Yuck!

Paddy Ps were amazing. Atmosphere was lush. Good Guinness. But the star of the show was Ciara! Smashing it solo on the bar, rocking the show and a smile plastered on her face throughout. Love her. But let’s not forget Eric. Serving the best whiskey sours in angel you’d think he was Gabriel himself.

£7.55 for a pint is too steep, even for London. Got a glass of wine and a pint and was >£18. Balcony upstairs looked like it had a great atmosphere but it was booked out :(

Booked a birthday event on the terrace. The staff were wonderful in the planning and on the night, doing their best to make it special and fun. The venue was warm and charming.

Came here for Sunday Roast and was not disappointed. Eric was amazing and treated us like we were regulars, not just regular Americans. We will definitely be back, and not just for Sunday Roast.

Cracking little pub, stumbled across on our way to the Angel Doubletree hotel, which is right next door,. Popped in for a quick drink and ended up have 3 superb Guinness served by the even more superb Ciara… thanks Ciara.. We will definitely be back again!

Food was delicious however a little expensive but that’s expected in London. I adore Gin so I was amazed by the big selection of Gins they had and all the different beers. Overall great pub with lovely staff - Pareèce was a gem and for sure made my fussy friends surprise birthday a blast! (which we apologise about - we don’t take him out much and when we do it can be effort haha) Thank you Castle!

£17 for a burger the size of a slider. Beef burgers: double patty. Veggie burgers - same price: single patty. Pretty outrageous

Had a fantastic time at The Castle watching rugby! The atmosphere was electric—enthusiastic cheers, great screens, and attentive staff. The overall vibe was perfect for a game day. Food and drinks were excellent. If you're a rugby fan, this is the spot to be. Can't wait for more match days!

Fab pub for a meet up with pals. Great food, staff really friendly, and a wide range of drinks. Bar snacks and wider menu varied and really tasty.

I Went to The Castle for a couple of drinks. I was served by Amy (I think that’s her name) and Chloe who were brilliant. They provided Such great service and made the whole experience brilliant. I will definitely be back soon.

Nice spot for a pint and a snack

Recently visited The Castle for the first time on Christmas Day with my family, including young kids. Being our first Christmas dinner out, we were unsure, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Despite being short-staffed, the team, especially Ciara and Erik, worked tirelessly. The food was both delicious and plentiful. Despite a slight delay in service, the atmosphere and their accommodating nature made it a memorable Christmas Dinner. We're so impressed that we're planning to return next month for Sunday lunch!

Great pub. Amazing Sunday Roast and really friendly staff. Ambience was perfect. Football was on but it was a relaxed crowd.

3rd time here since November and every time I love it. Ciara is hostess with mostest - super friendly but efficient too. Kitchen team appear to enjoy their work and all our plates were spotless at the end. Upper terrace great in warmer months but downstairs very cosy for Sunday lunch.

My dear friend celebrated his wedding at The Castle and they had a warning welcome from the staff who entered the festive vibe and were very friendly. They allowed us to bring a cake to the couple and helped us with cutlery. Amazing day in an amazing place!

Enjoyed a sensational Sunday roast with a group of 13 yesterday. Roast pork belly was sensational and others said the same of their beef and chicken meals. Staff were delightful and drinks great! All round great experience that far exceeded expectations.

Came here on Christmas Eve with my partner. It was warm and inviting and a great Christmas atmosphere. We had mulled wine and fish and chips and it was delish! The team were giving out mince pies which was a very special touch. We will definitely be back

We booked our NYE dinner and turned to be a disaster. The place was understaffed, it took two hours to get the food. The lonely two waitresses could not cope. We got apologies for the delays and waiting time but it was a total disaster. The bangers were burnt.

The castle is a very beautiful pub with a fantastic atmosphere the service was excellent I served by pareece and bar staff. They was very welcoming I would definitely recommend this pub to my friends and family.

The Castle is a quite pub if you want a quite date space with your loved ones or family nothing fancy or boisterous just chilled out dog friendly pub.

Second time visiting. The first visit we were blown away with the place, service and food, enjoying a late Sunday Lunch. This time we were less impressed, although on the whole a really nice brunch/early lunch. Service was friendly, professional and helpful, however we had issues with having to wait 10 minutes for one meal and our side dishes, also poached eggs were almost hard boiled. The server was apologetic and we were offered the late meal taken off the bill. Would go again as it has a lovely traditional pub feel and the staff are very welcoming.

The have actually chefs in this place that seem to be competing with each other, the food was that good. We had a young girl wait on our table with dark long hair who we had to give a tip to as she made a good impression on us. Music was at a good level. Drinks were also good. If I am in the area again I will be suggesting to meet at the Pub.

I lost a receipt for a round of drinks from early December and needed it for work! I thought it was a long shot but I emailed The Castle asking if there was any chance I could have a duplicate receipt. The next day Ciara got back to me and said she couldn’t attach it to an email but could text it to me, so I shared my number and received a WhatsApp within minutes. Extremely helpful, just as she was when serving me and my friends during a Christmas rush.

The Castle hosted our work Christmas do, on what turned out to be the most popular day of the year for work parties! We were up on the covered and heated roof terrace and despite how busy they were, we were superbly well looked after by Charlie who ran the upstairs bar. All staff were really helpful and friendly and made the experience really lovely. Thanks everyone at the Castle and well done!

We had a big Christmas lunch at The Castle and it was incredible. The Deputy Manager Pareèce made sure we always had a drink and you could tell she just genuinely wanted us to have a good time. She could be running her own pubs in London she was that good! Highly recommend

Toilets were in a bit of a state..potatoes were hard & only two of them..gravy was so minimal. The desert was very nice though!

Great Sunday Roast and great service. Have just booked here for Boxing Day lunch with my family.

The service was outstanding - really attentive and forgiving when I found I couldn't handle the spice in my Bloody Mary. The food was pretty good too - we had a veggie roast (£18) and it was tasty - although would have liked more cabbage and the wellington was slightly soggy - so not five stars but I still left happy!

My wife and I came here for Sunday lunch,we hadn't pre booked but Pareece found us a table within 45 minutes so we had a couple of drinks at the bar while waiting. The pub was very busy and the limited staff worked extra hard to keep everyone happy.Great sunday lunch,beef and chicken faultless and good size portions.The only criticism was the gravy is too thin but we are northerners!.pareece made a great Impression on us and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

Pareece was super helpful at this great pub/bar. This was chance visit and we were welcomed, comfortable and looked after. Our food was delicious & local beer was very good, all this before we were informed of the pubs historic link to the Hatton Garden robbers meeting here! What a great find

Great place across from our hotel.....the staff was fun and friendly. Had my mandatory Scotch egg and they made a Spicy Bloody Mary that was fabulous. We also shared the cheeseburger sliders and wings. The surprise for me was to find something with marmite that I liked. (Try the sausage roll) Finished the evening with a Bakewell Tart cocktail. Definitely a place to return when in London.

We visited on Sunday and were slightly hungover from the night before. The team were lovely and as we were chatting gave us bloody Mary’s to cure us. We all had a Sunday roast with all the trimmings and it was beautiful. The extra gravy and Yorkshire puddings were a nice touch. They also offered to pair wine with our dinner for us. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend.

Really cool pub! Great food, normally gets quite busy but always a really good vibe inside. Summertime is amazing here as they have a rooftop terrace, but you've got to get there early to get seats outside.

Abysmal service. Me and my family came for Sunday Dinner this evening. The girl who seated us was lovely but she handed us over to another girl as her shift was over (I presume as we saw her leave). The new girl took 10 mins to take our order, ten mins to bring us our drinks etc. the food was tasty but small and cold. We then saw this girl sit down in plain sight to eat her own Sunday dinner. She ignored everyone who entered the restaurant despite there being no other staff around. When we asked for the bill she rolled her eyes and huffed. It said on the menu that tables of 6+ will have service charge added. As a table of 4 the service was also added to our bill, when asked to remove it she snatched the bill back, went and told her coworker who was stood right next to us ‘they want the f****** service removing’ and refused to bring us the bill back herself. The boy who brought us the bill in the end was lovely, and we still left a £5 tip. As a server myself I was absolutely appalled and have never received such terrible service. Will not be returning, save your money and go elsewhere.

A cold rainy day in London led us to The Castle in Islington. Despite the weather, the atmosphere was warm; and vibrant. Two orders of fish and chips and a local larger recommended by Lewis & Sophie was the peak of our day. Thank you Lewis & Sophie for your friendly hospitality.

A group of us went to watch the rugby World Cup semifinal between the Springboks and England. The place was heaving so it was lucky we booked a table. However, the unlucky of it was that we booked on the roof terrace which was exposed … to the rain. Ciara sorted it. Moved us to a cozy table inside within 15 mins. Nothing was a problem for her. Me and the group were incredibly grateful for her efforts. It made the night. Great staff, great atmosphere, great pub. We will be back. Thanks Ciara!

Cosy pub and the Vegan cheeseburger was 10/10

Hosted a big family group of mixed ages (12-80 years old) at the Castle for dinner and drinks and had a really great time - the food was all great and good value, definitely something for everyone including veggie/vegans. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating.

Voor een Engelse ervaring is dit helemaal goed. Eten is lekker. Bediening Brits. Maar sfeer is geweldig. Zeer kind vriendelijk overigens.

We went to The Castle last Saturday night to watch a rugby World Cup game, our table was in the rain and Ciara (the pub manager) went above and beyond to make sure we were moved to a table inside with a view of the TV screen and were compensated with a round of free drinks. Her hospitality was one of the best I’ve experienced in London. Would highly recommend!

Lovely staff, great space and brilliant atmosphere. Food was really really good - especially the hummus and crumble!

I was on a business trip staying at the hotel next door and went here for a drink. They charged $18 for a gin and tonic made with house gin. They didn’t say or show the price, just shoved the credit card machine and I paid. I was shocked when I checked my credit card statement and saw the price was 2-3 times more than even the prices stated on their website, let alone every other local pub. Lesson learned! Don’t pay without clarifying to total first (which shouldn’t really be the responsibility of the customer but lesson learned), and avoid The Castle at all costs!

Good location and spacious multi level pub. We were on the roof terrace as it was a glorious October afternoon. Good drinks selection and good service. Only slight gripe was that the bar for the terrace wasn't open so a bit of a drag down and up with drinks. Likely not a problem normally at this time of year.

Ventured to the Castle with the family (2 kids and 1 toddler), based on a friend's recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed our time. It looks like a typical English pub. The Sunday roasts were delish! Staff super friendly & helpful.

This is my first time in this establishment and I’m glad to say it won’t be my last!! I met some amazing people tonight, notably Malick, Lizzie & Jay who were working on shift when I visited. Anyways great vibes and drinks at a generous price. I’d highly recommend pulling up here for a good and chilled vibe!
