Castle Inn in Boston

Haven't been in the Castle for years went to a christen yesterday 04/02/2024 they did the bar only carling no draught bitter the lager wasn't very good at £5 a pint should have been spot on rip off 🤑🤑

Our local. Massive portions that taste gorgeous! Every dish is excellent! Family ran business and are lovely people and staff!

We went at lunch time and for the prices I can honestly say it was worth it The starter we had was prawn cocktail and it was beautiful the bread was so soft The main course was lovely plenty on your plates the serve was lovely they went out of there way to make sure you had everything would definitely Go again

I’m on a mission to find a decent Sunday roast, unfortunately I didn’t find it today… I’ve heard great reviews from friends about The Castle Inn so decided to give it a go today. We were shown to a tiny table that had no hope of accommodating our plates plus the vegetable serving plate and gravy boat so my husband asked for a takeaway instead of dining in, despite being told they were fully booked and had no other table miraculously they found us somewhere else to sit (much appreciated btw). The meal arrived and the portions were very generous. The vegetables were all cooked well and my turkey was moist and well cooked, my beef was very chewy though. The mashed potato (of which there was loads) was so overpowering with pepper it was inedible. The roast potatoes were chargrilled but fluffy inside. My husbands gammon was dry. We were asked if the meal was ok and it was just about ok, certainly not good. Unfortunately this is another local establishment where I won’t be eating a Sunday roast again

We had recently moved to the area in June 23 and thought we would give our local pub a try with our 2 friends. We booked the table for 6.30 on a Tuesday. Arrived and within 5 minutes we had our meal choices taken and a few minutes later our drinks arrived. So far so good. The pub was half empty. An hour later our food arrived! Not good! I ordered Castle Chicken which is a chicken breast with trimmings, but received a chilli meat burger. I called the waiter over and asked him if this was Castle chicken (he looked a little agitated), and he said it was a chilli burger. Due to the length of time we waited I said just leave it and I would eat the chips and salad. He said he would deduct my drink, a pint of Inch's cider and would give me a double portion of dessert - I didn't get the double even though the waiter told the young lad to do it. We each had a meal (all under £20) and dessert (no idea how much desserts were). 3 of us had 2 drinks - 1 to be deducted and 1 had a pint of shandy. The whole thing came to £148 which after leaving, we thought was expensive and probably wrong. It took the waiter 3 attempts to enter the items into the till. He kept asking us what we had. He was getting very agitated with the till. We just wanted to get out as was feeling uncomfortable. My partner says he will never go there again. I want to go when the owner is there as apparently it runs more smoothly with less waiting time when she is there. I also want to check what we were charged. The other 3 people in our party said the food was good and good value for money, albeit we think we were overcharged!

DON'T BOTHER!!!! Pre-ordered food as asked to by person on phone when booking. Arrived 5:30pm for 6pm booking. Place was empty, but soon filled, GOT FOOD at 7:55pm!!! That after continually asking and reminding staff we had pre-ordered, they said Yes it's being cooked. Most people around us had arrived after us, eaten and left before food even came out! The food Well what can I say everything seriously overcooked!!!! Maybe that's why we waited 2hours.....no apologies, not even an excuse...shambles. Without doubt the Worst Pub/Restaurant/Eatery Experience We have ever had!!! MY STRONG RECOMMENDATION....DON'T BOTHER!!!!!! Sorry cannot think of One single positive sadly I would give NO STARS if I could.

Good points: Large portions, well cooked, friendly staff Bad points Very slow service, far too much food, I hate food waste and all of our mains could have fed 2.

Had the surf and turf. And it was cooked perfect and there was plenty off it as well then and we all so had the castle chicken. Yet a again very good.

Just returned home from a lunchtime meal at the Castle Inn were do I start arrived approximately at 12.45 sat down and waited and waited 25 minutes later just as we were going to leave the waiter came for our drinks order no apology for the wait! Then ordered the meal another 30 minutes wait food arrived cold plates food ok large portions .then ordered deserts and another drink 20 minutes no drink not good enough price wise good valve for money but service terrible.good staff training is essential to get repeat customers .2hrs for a lunchtime meal not acceptable.

Visited here with family who live in Lincoln, I've eaten alot of mixed grills in my lifetime and this was fantastic...amazing.. just a shame I live so far away !!

Was astounded by size of plate, which was full of delicious food. Homemade chips were amazing, lovely salad with plenty of variety in it & the New York chicken was best I’ve ever tasted. Staff lovely & friendly. Will definitely be going back. Great value for money

Member of our party found red sauce on her food, when there was no red sauce on table, felt like she had been given someone else's leftovers, made her feel physically sick!!. Young barman took food away saying he would 'scrape it off'. Told him needed to see management, as that was not acceptable, but no person came, no apology, had to ask again and again to see the management, whole complaint was treated as an inconvenience, offer of free starter to compensate, but we had no issues with starters. Eventually, meal given free but still no apology. Final explanation was that chef dropped sauce on her meal whilst serving other food - so why was it not dealt with if they knew the sauce had dropped onto her meal!! One member of our party had his meal arrive after everyone else had finished their food, still no apology for the delay and no explanation. Noticed other diners where complaining with problems with their meals and long delays in food arriving. Young staff need proper training to enable them to do their job, and proper service from management, complaints need to be taken seriously.

We went to the Castle for a Valentines night meal as our usual restaurant was fully booked. We had a great evening, the food was very nice and the service excellent. It's a shame the place was quiet as it should have been full given it was February 14th. If we don't give places like this a try they will disappear. Go on give it a try and judge for yourself, you might be surprised, we were!

Go there all time as couldn't fault until tonight. Not enough staff on or trained in hospitality. Ordered food didn't have ingredients. Reordered something else when came wasn't what was ordered on 2 of meals out of 3 and couldn't eat as was overcooked. I've had same meal several times before and was amazing. Don't know what's happened. You would have thought the time had of with covid staff would have been trained how to work in the environment. Won't recommend anymore. When messaged direct about this the message was read and no reply no sorry no nothing. Worst £50 ever spent and won't be returning. Used to be a cracking pub with amazing food but all that has now gone out the window. I can see it closing soon.

Went for Sunday lunch, very disappointed food seemed to be reheated roast potatoes were rock hard like they had been standing in oil and microwaved. Vegetables were over cooked meat had a tang, felt as if the whole lot was old and just bunged in the microwave. Place has had wood panelling painted to a poor standard whole place looked in need of some TLC. When my husband explained why we had left our meals the barmaid offered no solution so we left and sadly will not be returning. It’s a shame as this used to be quite a nice restaurant.

Visited Sat night at 6.30. Food was not horrible but many things could be done to improve the meal. Plates stone cold and that means food cools too quickly. Gammon meal overcooked and dry. Sizzling dish - did not sizzle when they brought it out?...

Was on holiday in the area when we stopped here on the 27th june 21. We never booked but was welcomed to a table. The inn offered a big choice of dinners with good prices. We ordered 3 Sunday lunches and 1 liver and bacon....

Pub has good selection on the menus and what we had could not be faulted. Staff were very friendly and efficient too.

First time here, friendly staff, lots of food and good value for money. I would say there was too much food as no one on the table ate the potatoes.

Fancied a meal out and realised the castle is under new management so thought it was worth a try. Food and service was both outstanding, couldn’t of felt more welcome. Absolutely no problems with the food, cooked to perfection. Highly recommend and shall be returning

We have been coming here a long time as a family and sometimes struggled to get booked in. This seems no longer a problem the place was over half empty. We thought maybe the original staff that we had got to know over the years were on holiday the place just didnt seem the same but the menu is the same so we thought nothing of it.We all ordered a variety of meals. My vegetables were over boiled and had no taste.My sons steak was really tough and not cooked how we asked.The chips tasted ok but were very white so they didnt look the best.My granddaughters pizza was burnt on the edges.We usually have desserts but they didnt look very appetizing like they used to.We asked the young lad waiter where all the original staff were? He told us it had new managers. Explains alot ... none of us was very impressed with our dining experience so looks like we will have to find somewhere else.

6 of us sat down for dinner, wonderful food, reasonably priced and great service, steak was tender and the cajun sizzler was delicious with rice and chips, a brilliant time was had by all.

Have been eating at the Castle two or three times a month for several years. The food has always been well cooked, and piled high - too high if I am honest. A couple of months back we were surprised to find the owners and all staff were gone - apparently thay had changed hands a couple of weeks earlier, but the Menu remain unchanged. We weren't impressed the food was different to what we knew and the new barstaff had not been accepted by the locals and were still finding their feet. In truth the meals we liked so much had changed and we decided to go else where in the future.This Sunday we were late, our new haunts were closed and we decided, reluctantly to give the new guys another chance. The food is still different but well cooked and tasty as good as the other locals we have started to frequent, and an enhanced menu is soon to be published - things are looking good and they defiitely deserve another chance - all the naysayers need to allow for change. Nice poeple - nice food.

On walking in we knew something wasnt the same we were starred at by all at bar. Person behind the bar didnt make us feel anymore welcome. We could choose a table which on a friday night previous visits we have never been able to do. The whole atmosphere that used to be here has gone and so have all the good staff by the looks of it. Our food on arrival after 1hour and 10min. Well.... my lasagne was burnt. My friends curry was over microwaved as meat was tough. The gammon tasted like it had been cooked in a dirty pan all black. I asked for vegetables and got chips. The glasses had all dirty marks on them and the batemans tasted nothing like it used to... I can only assume by reading previous post it's got new tenants but still under batemans?? BATEMANS what have u done to this business ? I wouldn't want my name advertising this pub. Deffinately wont be returning or recommending to anyone absolute waste of our time and money.

Nowhere near as good as it was. Food overcooked. Slow service. Not welcoming.. Totally gone downhill. Will not frequent again. Such a shame.

Have been coming here for over a year but has gone downhill lately. The bar staff said it had changed owners - the old staff had certainly left to be replaced by people that havent got a clue. Same menu but dreadfuk quality - waitress tried to persuade me that the boiled potatoes with my Sunday roast were actually roasties!

if its a vast quantity of poor quality, tastless pub food you're after, then the castle is the place for you.

f you love microwaved ready meals then this is the place for you! While I've nothing against Heinz tomato soup it's not what you expect in a restaurant. The lady manager suggested on being questioned they were a pub not a restaurant however the whole place is filled with tables to eat at, significantly outnumbering bar stools and charging restaurant prices especially for main courses. The sign on the outside proclaims 'award winning food'. Not sure what awards they've won but if these were winners then God help the losers. Closer inspection on passing of the kitchens revealed 4 microwave ovens and not a hob or grill in sight. Thankfully I didn't order steak.....but my parties salmon was an odd grey colour with inedible veg and the whitest potatoes ever seen. The lamb shank she admitted was a pre packed pouch heated up....we consoled and amused ourselves by playing 'what would Gordon Ramsay yell' so bad was the food. One star given only because the bill was reduced after negotiations....

Came in on a Thursday night with the wife. We got in at 6 and lucky we did as by 7 the place was really busy with lots of dinners and drinkers in.

Excellent service and great food. Heading back from Skeggy and this is the best meal all holiday. Along with Batemans XB (the XXx was off) was given more food than J can eat. Jo had the beef which melted in the mouth along with 8 different veg and I had the Steak & Kidney pudding.

I had the fillet steak which was really nice the chips however were really weird they were a really odd colour and not very nice,apple pie was average,beer was good.

Excellent service, excellent food. Book though so as not to be disappointed Took our friend for first time and he couldn’t believe how much you got for your money.

Back for another visit and this place really is a great all round pub with great staff.

Stopping locally for the weekend, and the place was recommended to us. It did not disappoint! The food was incredible, and the portions were huge! We’ve even booked to go again on Sunday for a roast dinner. Cannot recommend this place more, and really good prices too!

We have been meaning to try a meal at the Castle for ages and today we did. I had the steak and kidney suet pudding with five sorts of veg and roast potatoes and my other half had lamb shank, both were excellent and in fact the lamb shank was the best pub lunch my other half had ever had. I had a pint of Bateman's XB and it too was very good. Shall we return, you bet we will as there are more items on the menu we want to try but we will make sure that we haven't eaten for a couple of days before we visit again.

Spent an evening here with friends, and we were made welcome by the barstaff. It was a fairly busy night, punctuated by someone having ordered a pizza delivery. Unfortunately, even though the delivery address was wrong, the man delivering it wasn't particularly treated with respect by the barstaff.

Normally we enjoy our Sunday dinner here but had a change and came for tea. The meals were absolutely wonderful. Steak was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend you try here but be sure to book so not to be disappointed

Even though we had a good size portion we went on a Sunday for a carvery. We had an afternoon booking but I think it must have been too late because the beef was well overcooked and extremely tough. I think if we go again it will be an early booking but if tastes the same it will be our last visit

Lovely friendly pub with very generous servings foods always top notch and gluten free options, we both had the gammon, hubby's was the horseshoe with egg and pineapple plus onion rings and mine was the Viking gammon which was absolutely gorgeous with a lovely chargrilled taste with peppers pineapple and loads of yummy cheese, both gammons were succulent and cooked perfect! A very popular place to eat!

Travelling home to Mansfield from Old Leake we wanted to find somewhere to eat. We stopped at a pub down the road and were told they stopped serving food. A customer recommended the Castle Inn and gave us directions.

We went for lunch, were served very quickly and the short wait for the food shoed that it wasn't 'chicken ding service. Four plates were cleared in fairly short order which was'proof of the pudding. The Castle is on our 'go again' list.

Made strangers very welcome, delicious large portion home cooked meals, truly excellent value for money for a mains and sweet.

Food and service were excellent. A proper Sunday dinner just like home and excellently priced. My only slight issue is having my half of bitter served in small slender glass instead of proper half pint glass

Warm welcome, attention to your needs, the food was excellent, but be aware they are large portions. Landlady very engaging and happy to chat. Overall superb value for money, welcoming and will be going back.

We stopped at this pub on the recommendation from a friend. The food is really good and decent sized portions. I had Chicken Kiev with salad. The salad was fresh and crisp and not wilted like you find at some places. The chicken was full of flavour and crispy. My wife had lasagne with chips and salad. She really enjoyed her food. We both had pudding, I had key lime cheesecake and my wife had daime bar crunch cheesecake. Both deserts were really good.

It was the wife’s birthday and I always like to surprise her and try to find somewhere new to eat.

We walked in for just a drink haven't been in there for many years, no atmosphere,all the tables are set for meals just looks like a large cafe,why they couldn't just leave a area with cosy seats for people wanting just a drink.

What a lovely warm welcome in this pub, great atmosphere, very pleasant bar staff and waitress. wonderful food! massive Sunday lunch all fresh veg, i had the lamb my husband had the roast pork. There was no way I could eat a pudding the dinner was so big. Great value for money would highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

After a much needed chill out day and no inclination to cook we booked in for an early evening meal. It was busy with diners and we both decided on the Sunday roast and as usual it came with around 7 or 8 veg, yorkie pud, all delicious and very well received!

Well what can I say the food & portions was amazing it filled the plate , the service was excellent they made you feel very welcome , we went with friends & saw the new year in , in the pub even the other customers made you feel welcome they were so friendly .

A return visit to this Pub which once again proved to be a good move - having tried to book a table at a Pub nearby - calling to reserve a table early in the day, we were called back some six hours later - just after we ordered our food at The Castle - so we were not for moving!

We happened to be passing enroute to Skegness on a very busy Saturday lunchtime, only 1 table for 2 was available. A good selection from either the menu or Specials Boards offering good, honest home cooked food and a dessert cabinet which leaves you spoilt for choice. We will certainly make sure we are passing by again!

I have had 2 meals there this week but i have visited on several occasions. It pays to be there at 12md as they get quite busy with a lot of local trade.

Friends rang for a last minute booking and were surprisingly found a table as we were told that this is a busy pub at all times especially on Saturday nights. Bit chaotic at the bar, were pointed to our table, large portions of starters and mains, nothing to write home about, would say nice pub grub. Too many tables in such a small area. People were hovering around for a table.

The service at this restaurant/pub is awful. Landlady and barmaid had terrible customer service. My sister was basically thrown her drink with an awful look on the woman face, clearly not happy to be there at all. The food was ok nothing to be amazed about as it was cheap frozen food in large portions. Would not reccomend.

Menu has a wide choice and is reasonably priced too. Portions are huge, both of us were unable to finish, but food is very tasty!

We had been told about The Castle Inn by a few of our friends and decided to try their lunch menu which is such good value. Two Courses for £6.99. The portions are so generous with a good choice and the service is good. The food is also hot and freshly cooked and that is very important to me. We have been back quite a few times but my husband has now moved onto the main (full price) menu because he really rates the Spicy Cajan Chicken Sizzler. It is a huge portion....believe me, anyone with a large appetite will not be disappointed. I recommend The Castle Inn. You will wonder why you have never found this hidden gem before! We're going there again today.....

Ever the optimist I agreed to return for another meal. I was not disappointed it remained poor, the meat was tasteless, the veg were so soft, Yorkshire puddings frozen as I believe the majority of the meal was. The staff were off hand and when asked for sauces threw them on the table, the bar staff were engaged in a conversation and ignored me when I tried to order drinks.

Friends always praised The Castle's food, but I never seemed to make it, despite being fairly local. Went today, and they were not wrong, I have been missing out! A warm welcome into a fairly busy lunchtime service, and a good choice of home-cooked food on offer. Didn't have to wait too long before our meals were presented, hot, tasty and a generous portion. The chips were hand-cut and delicious, gammon thick, tender and juicy. The service was prompt and courteous and prices extremely reasonable. This isn't a pretentious place, but extremely good at what it does, so will be visiting again soon.

We all heard about the fresh vegetable shortage, I have eaten, again in this restaurant and although my meal was Gammon steak with pineapple, salad peas and chips. My dining partner had meat and seven veg. including a couple of the veg on the shortage list our meal including drinks was just £20 and that included a sweet see the pictures one week apart. two restaurants of which I have no connection with either place. the other meals were the same cost with out the drinks.

I've been to the Castle several time and the food is always lovely and staff very polite. You get a very good value for money as the portions are enormous. Would definitely recommend.

I have visited The Castle several times now, as a couple and also with family. Everytime there is a relaxed atmosphere and not forgetting the huuuuge portion size without scrimping on quality! Will return time and time again!

Boxing Day lunch with parents, can't fault food and owners and staff, I don't quite understand some comments of rudeness ect in some reviews. Great food and value friendly staff, we have just moved to the area so was very pleased to find this place, I suggest to anyone to try and if you have had a bad experiance before give it another go maybe it was a bad day which we all have.Steve and gwen.

Even the place is located in convenient place, the staff is pretty absurd and useless. They dont know how to treat and talk to customers. If you are new or coming for first time I would suggest you ,not to even look at that especially you are a foreigner.

Went on the off chance and they found us a table the room is welcoming as are the bar staff.The food was great I had Sunday lunch with superb beef and !10 veg.... YES 10 veg.Hubby was in his element as there was a good choice of vegetarian options and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not on our doorstep but near to relatives so will be visiting again asap.

Good food... fab portions.... bar maid friendly and up for a laugh.....shame about the landlady... alias "Rottweiler "...

This isn't the first reveiw of this place, I was taken again by friends for a birthday dinner I am not into eating a great amount of vegetables so I went for a grilled Gammon steak, see picture, the atmosphere of the place is very aimiable the staff excelent and the cost .well two courses for about £7 plus the drinks. The four of us. A drink, 'alcoholic' then the meal for £38.00 the main meal. that is the one with all the veg looked good. I certainly ggive it a 10.

Absolutely beautiful food, landlady was very polite and lovely to talk to. Was well looked after. Will definitely be eating here again

Called in for mid week lunch,enjoyed the two course lunch proper pub grub done well far better than the chain pubs. Scrummy desert all for £6.45 a head.Friendly staffed and served in good time despite been reasonably busy.Well worth a visit

Called in the Castle inn on a recommendation,(never visited before) so clad we did,from the wonderful welcome from the manageress to the warm and friendly locals the whole evening was a real treat.The food was sensational,and belive me there's plenty of it (well done chef). My wife mentioned it was my birthday,so they played happy birthday,then came with a cake with a candle in it, above and beyond the call of duty Castle,but very much appreciated,THANK YOU.

Portion sizes really good porky pig is a must if you love food. 4 of us all had lovely meals.Nice to see they have a new barmaid more pleasant than the last.but we are not sure what the other barlady was on but she's either a drunk or taking strong medication slurring her words not making much sense and not a clue when adding bill up!! 10/10 food and waiting staff but please sort barstaff out whilst funny its abit off putting my friends were put off and I had recommend we try here again :(

I don't live in the area so it's been some years since my wife and I ate here but popped in on Thursday and had Liver & Bacon and a Vegetable korma both of which were excellent, massive portions, and good prices also. Liver and Bacon was even better having been washed downs with Batemans.

We have eaten here a few times and each time the experience is faultless. Great welcome by the barmaid and especially the land lady, really chatty and help full especially with our two kids.The service was attentive and prompt and the food was amazing, tasty with great flavour.Great staff great food great pub

This is one of our local pubs and we eat here fairly regularly. Superb choice of meals and all excellently prepared. Never been disappointed. One of the very few local restaurants open for food on Sunday evenings.

Started eating here a few months ago (recommended by friends), and every visit has been fantastic. The portions are huge in the evening, and the chips are the best I have ever had. Have eaten here lunch time to, and again the portions are super, just not quite as huge(which suits me), and you get a pud too. Fantastic value, fantastic staff, and a great selection of food. I am attempting to try everything on the menu at some point, and I know I won’t be disappointed. Thanks guys & gals, Keep up the good work.

Visited based on previous experience and not disappointed - typical Inn atmosphere, exceptional beer - chose the 2 course special lunch menu (main and desert) - excellent and varied choices, generous portions for a set price all cooked fresh to order, first time visitors were impressed with both the food and the service - we will return next time the opportunity arises - hopefully soon

I have been to the Castle on many occasions over the last few years. This time did not disappoint. I booked a table of three around lunchtime for that evening and when we got there we could chose where we sat at the pub wasn't very busy. Looking through the menu there is a good choice of food but the starters are not in the menu, possibly as these may change time to time, I don't know, but it was a bit of a pain wondering if they did starters, picking a main, going to order it then seeing the starters board on the wall along with the special board. Anyway moving on to the food. I had the Cock & Bull which compromises of a nice juicy tender steak, two pieces of garlic chicken breast, onion rings, peas, side salad and only what can be described as a mountain of chips. The steak was loverly and tender cooked to just how I had asked for it, the chicken was very tasty just enough garlic flavour not to become overpowering, a touch dry but it wasn't a problem. The problem comes in trying to finish the plate full of food sat in front of you. Im not one for leaving anything on my plate but unfortunately I was beaten and couldn't manage all of the chips but I gave it a good go.The restaurant could of done with a quick whip round with a hoover as there was dry peas on the floor near our table and I did spot a glass under a table thats been there a while lets just say that.Overall the food is very nice and reasonably priced and I would recommend it and will be visiting again.

After eating here tonight with my family we arrived home and all thought the same so we decided to write on here. We have eaten before here but never seen this barmaid before we all thought the same she never made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in shrugged her shoulders and pointed to table she seemed more interested in what looked like her boyfriend who was at the bar drinking. We were served our food by lovely tall young waitress who couldn't be nicer she bought our meals out cleared our tables even though the barmaid was just chatting to her boyfriend at bar then served our sweets too nothing was too much for her. We all felt really sorry as this looked like the only waitress at work and was fairly busy and received no help from barmaid. Eventually her boyfriend left and we all made a comment she could actually move! Food was really good even though it took a little while to arrive but there were a few in before us and we were having a catch up so was ok. Deffinately recommend food but not the lazy barmaid. 10/10 waitress we just felt sorry for you.

6 vegetables, large portions, large steak pie very fatty and the plate can hardly be seen. Love my food but large portions of vegetables not on. Mind you most of the customers seemed to like large portions. Need to book on special days. Good atmosphere and friendly staff

i must make a comment about what george clark121 posted about the waitress on here, we went to the Castle Inn on wed and Livvie the normal waitress was on holiday, so we was served by the barmaid, who i felt she was doing us a favour, i have been going to the Castle Inn for a few years for drinks and started last year to have food, i have never ever seen the waitress dump the food on the table or be impolite to anyone in fact she goes out of her way to speak to all and tries to ensure that everything is fine with your food if not she will do her best to solve the problem,i just wish she was there this last week, the main courses where great but the sweets was another matter, 2 where fine, but my husbands and mine where not so good in fact to be honest i have to say we think that the sweet was divided into 2? why do things like this? i am certain if either Kath the landlady/or Livvie was there this would never have happened, but will not deter us from going there again because on the whole this pub takes some beating, so no georgeclark121 it was not the regular waitress who served you as she has got dark hair, i think it must have been the blonde bar person as i said before Livvie was on holiday
